    Ideal Accommodation for Solo Travelers

    I stayed here on short notice during a solo trip to Beppu. The Room I used wasn’t particularly spacious, but it was perfect for one person (and I think it would be more than sufficient for a couple as well). The bath with Onsen water was very relaxing, but when you open the window, it faces a path where people jog and take walks. I think some kind of measure would be helpful (at least a notice or reminder to guests).

    The early morning is wonderful.

    There were so many wonderful things—far beyond what I expected! The best part was the in-Room Onsen. The bath was already filled, and I think it was at the natural source temperature, so it was quite hot and I adjusted it with cold water. Even diluted, the water quality was excellent. It also seemed to help with that summer chill from air conditioning; even a short soak warmed me through and helped me relax deeply. It was also great being able to hear the sound of the waves while soaking. If people are walking along the seaside promenade, they can be seen from the terrace, but it didn’t bother me too much. Depending on how close a Room is to the promenade, some guests might find it more noticeable. The Room itself isn’t very large, but having a terrace and an Onsen made it feel open and spacious. The amenities were great as well. There were bottled waters both at room temperature and in the refrigerator, which was appreciated. The coffee options were plentiful too—both drip coffee and an espresso machine. Waking up to the sunrise over Beppu Bay was an amazing experience. I’d love to come again. Thank you very much.

    It was a wonderful trip.

    I stayed at Ishi no Ya Beppu on a solo trip. Unfortunately, it rained on the first day, but the front desk staff were very welcoming, and I was able to enter my Room comfortably. The Room was wonderful—more than enough for one person—and having an Onsen bath was the best! Dinner was a creative course meal. The restaurant staff were excellent as well, and every dish was delicious! The next day, after breakfast, I went to the sand bath. It felt amazing. A staff member even took photos with my smartphone for me, which made for a great memory (laughs). Since it was SHONIN PARK’s 1st anniversary, various events were being held. The nighttime illuminations were very beautiful. It had been a while since my last solo trip, but it turned out to be a truly great one. Thank you very much.

    Disappointed.

    It was very disappointing. The Room was far too small, and although it was advertised as an ocean view, two trees and tall overgrown grass blocked the view, so we could hardly see the sea. The Room entrance was fully visible from the highway, there was no soundproofing, and the noise from trucks kept us awake. We will never go again.

    The ultimate escape from the everyday.

    A beachside cottage-style Room in Beppu that really lifts your spirits. The open-air bath attached to the Room was just as expected. And above all, the meals were outstanding! A course menu centered on local fish and meat. The vegetables were delicious too. The staff were kind and welcoming, which made us feel truly at ease. We’d love to stay again.

    If you choose to stay at this Accommodation,

    The Hotel is located inside a park and was a bit hard to find, but the view from the Room was great, the bath was wonderful, and the amenities were well stocked. The staff were also kind and courteous. It is also located along National Route 10, making it easy to get to restaurants and tourist spots. However, we stayed in winter this time, and the Room was indeed cold. I imagine it gets hot in summer and that there may be many insects due to the location. I think this Accommodation would be very nice to visit in spring or autumn.

    Perfect for families or couples. Enjoy a quiet, luxurious escape in Beppu—made for adults.

    It was a very satisfying stay! The Accommodation has a calm, clean atmosphere, and because it isn’t noisy, both adults and children can relax comfortably. The staff were also courteous, and it left a great impression that families could stay without feeling overly self-conscious. The Onsen is spacious and designed for a relaxing soak, so it doesn’t feel crowded easily, and you can truly experience the unique character of Beppu. It felt convenient both for couples who want to bathe quietly and for families who prefer to use it at different times. It feels special without being too formal, so I think it’s also well suited for anniversaries. Overall, this is an Accommodation that values “comfort over flashiness,” and if I have the chance to visit Beppu again, I’d love to return.

    No repeat stays.

    If we hadn’t added dinner, our satisfaction might still have been around 3 stars, but the poor quality of the staff really left a bad impression. Most of them seemed inexperienced, and some acted annoyed when pointed out obvious issues, responding with a defensive attitude that was shocking. At checkout, we were asked to sign a bill that included meal charges in addition to drinks; when we told them we were on a Plan with dinner included, they said there would be no additional charge. It was far too confusing, and they should have explained that from the start. The Room bath also had only two large tubs; everything was enclosed by walls, and even the ceiling was covered with fabric, so it didn’t feel like an open-air bath at all. It’s very disappointing after paying so much during peak season.

    Not worth the price.

    The staff lacked a sense of hospitality. While their effort was evident, there were many questionable aspects. The restaurant's meals felt like family diner quality, which was disappointing. The pancakes at breakfast reminded me of McDonald's. The bed was placed by the window facing the sea, but even with the air conditioning on, it felt cold—perhaps due to thin walls? There were no towels or towel racks in the toilet, and it seemed expected to use the sink across the hallway, which I found unhygienic. It might be suitable for young groups gathering together but not ideal for adults seeking comfort.

    Enjoy the breathtaki...

    Enjoy the breathtaking sunrise from a room with a stunning early morning ocean view. Since there is a sand bath within the premises, it would be great if plans allowed guests to use it at least once during their stay. It would also be appreciated if accommodation guests could freely access the large public bath. While more accommodations are separating sleeping, dining, and bathing areas to revitalize their facilities, better coordination seems necessary. The path to the restaurant for dinner was quite dark, which was concerning. A small request: having hand towels in the restroom would be helpful.

    Waikiki Beach in Beppu!

    The room was a double room with a narrow bed, but the balcony was unusually spacious! The sand bath was unique and relaxing. The bathroom in the Room was also spacious with plenty of hot water, which I liked. However, the meals I had been looking forward to were disappointing! The distance from the Room to the bathhouse and restaurant is an issue during rain or wind. Walking around the cottage area feels reminiscent of Waikiki Beach. Improvement in meals is desired!!

    It was the best accommodation.

    The room and windows were spacious, offering a stunning view of the seaside right in front. Each room features its own private bath with authentic Onsen water, allowing you to enjoy the smooth hot spring while taking in the sights and sounds of the ocean—a truly satisfying experience. Breakfast included several types of curry, all of which were delicious. Freshly baked bread was also served. I had an omelet with mushrooms, which I highly recommend. Enjoying breakfast while gazing at the expansive seaside view was absolutely fantastic. It was my first time experiencing a sand bath, and I highly recommend it as well. Lying on the warm sand for 15 minutes while overlooking the sea brought a sense of relaxation. Closing my eyes to the sound of waves helped me forget everyday worries and provided a truly enriching moment.

    A wonderful hotel in...

    A wonderful hotel in many aspects. Located about 15 minutes from Beppu Station, it offers a stunning view of Beppu Bay along the seaside. Although there is a promenade along the coast with some foot traffic, the blinds for privacy and the well-stocked towels and amenities provide a sense of hospitality. The breakfast (half-buffet style) exceeded expectations with its delicious offerings. Guests can enjoy free access to the large public bath, and it's convenient that towels are provided in the changing room, so there's no need to bring them from your room. The staff were all kind and welcoming, making it a hotel you'd want to visit again. I’m also interested in trying other accommodations within this group.

    The Room, cuisine, and service were all highly satisfying!

    The Room was very clean as it is new. A breathtaking view of Beppu Bay spreads out right in front. The sound of the waves added to the extraordinary experience, allowing for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was also very delicious. I would love to come again!
