Spacious with an amazing view! However, we hope for improvements to the Facility and breakfast.

I love Rihga Royal Gran Naha, and I’d been looking forward to this Hotel opening since last year, deciding, “We’ll definitely stay here next summer.” We finally got to stay this time, but unfortunately it coincided with Typhoon No. 13. On the first day we couldn’t use the large public bath, and even inside the Room the wind was so strong that it was genuinely frightening. Even so, the Grand Corner Suite was extremely spacious, and with four beds our family could relax comfortably. Having two sinks, a washing machine, and a larger refrigerator is very convenient for longer stays. The location is also great—American Village is close by—and the view from the Room was another highlight, with both the townscape and the ocean visible. The large public bath had ReFa and Dyson hair dryers, and towels were provided as well, which made it very comfortable. On the other hand, for a condominium-style stay there were quite a few missed points in terms of amenities: while there is an IH cooktop in the kitchen, there was no guidance on cookware or tableware provided; there was also no detergent or sponge, making reuse difficult. It would be even more comfortable if items like paper towels, dishcloths, and kitchen hand soap were available. Also, while having a washing machine is extremely helpful, there’s nowhere to hang laundry to dry and there aren’t many hangers. With limited space to hang clothes as well, an indoor folding drying rack would be a big help. It also bothered me that we ended up leaving our suitcases open all the time due to lack of space. And most disappointing of all was breakfast. Considering it costs around ¥4,500 per person (approximately), I honestly didn’t feel it offered good value for money. There were very few cold dishes or side options overall and it felt heavy on carbohydrates. The cappuccino had no milk foam at all, and even the yogurt was pre-packaged in cups. Overall—because the location、Room size、and views are excellent—I feel this could become an even more satisfying Hotel if amenities and breakfast are improved further。This time we couldn’t fully enjoy everything due to typhoon conditions, but it’s a Hotel I hope will continue to evolve。

Booking the Club Floor was pointless.

I have stayed at many different Hotels through IKYU dozens of times, but this is my first time writing a Review. It was that disappointing an experience. On the day of my stay, a typhoon was approaching and the pool on the 18th floor was closed. As it is an outdoor Facility, I fully understand that it could not be used for safety reasons. What I looked forward to most during this stay was the club lounge. That is why I paid a higher rate than usual and deliberately made a Reservation for the club floor. However, on the day of check-in, I was told that even the indoor club lounge next to the pool would not be available. At the front desk, I was also told something along the lines of, “We sent you an email yesterday—didn’t you see it?” But I do not constantly check emails from a Hotel in real time before my stay. In any case, even if I had seen the email the day before, changing Accommodations at that point—while a typhoon is approaching—is realistically extremely difficult. I find it questionable that such an important change—the inability to use the club lounge, which was a major reason for choosing the club floor—was effectively communicated only by a single email sent one day prior, and then we were simply expected to stay as normal on arrival. What surprised me most was that, as an alternative for not being able to use the club lounge, six cans of beer were placed in my room. I reserved (and paid extra for) the club floor because I looked forward to spending time in—and enjoying—the services of the club lounge. If providing six cans of beer is considered an adequate substitute or compensation despite that entire experience not being offered at all, then it feels like what guests are paying for when they choose a club floor is being taken far too lightly. My dissatisfaction is not with safety measures due to a typhoon itself. I understand there are unavoidable circumstances where services cannot be provided. What I cannot accept is that although their main service—the club lounge—could not be provided, notice came at very short notice and there were no sufficient options offered nor appropriate alternatives or refunds; instead it was brushed off with six cans of beer. I have stayed at many Hotels through IKYU over many years, but this is my first time feeling that “the services that should have been provided for what I paid were not delivered.” Because this was a stay I had been looking forward to so much, it is truly disappointing.

    Was?!

We’d appreciate it if you could make a bit more effort.

The Room was spacious and had a partition separating it from the bedroom, which was great because I could hide when family members next door came into my Room. Having a washing machine was also very convenient. However, since our stay coincided with typhoon season, the wind outside the Room was extremely strong, making it very dangerous even to go to the bath area. The next day, we were no longer allowed to go to the bath at all. Wi-Fi was difficult to connect both in the building and in the Room, so we couldn’t contact anyone outside—or even reach reception—meaning we had to go all the way to the lobby each time, which was inconvenient. Also, due to the typhoon, housekeeping didn’t come; when we stayed in and cooked meals in the Room, trash piled up, and having to leave it there felt unpleasant. The gym is small and has no phone. There is a changing room, but it’s only a place to change (no baskets or shelves). Water wasn’t provided. I heard it has been open since April, but I hope they continue improving.

    Adjacent to Ameville

We stayed in the Grand Corner Suite on the 14th floor with a child. For three people it was almost too spacious, but aside from suites, this seems to be the only Room that guarantees the Ameville side, so we chose it. The view was simply breathtaking, and having a drink while enjoying the night view after our child fell asleep was amazing. It felt like the kind of scenery you see from a Disney Hotel, which was great. The downside was that the window cleaning wasn’t thorough, so the view looked a bit hazy from inside. Also, since this Room category groups everything together from lower floors to higher floors, I imagine the views can differ dramatically. Inside the Room there was a washing machine, which made it easy to do laundry. On the other hand, even though there was a stove, there were no cooking utensils at all, so I couldn’t figure out what it was for. In the end we just bought prepared food at AEON and made do with the microwave. Speaking of AEON, we could surprisingly hear the pedestrian signal sound on the way there (a “cuckoo-cuckoo” sound), and it reached our Room and felt noisy. There is a large public bath on the 18th floor. I tried it without high expectations, but it turned out to be excellent. The water is on the hot side, but you can cool off outside before getting back in, which felt really refreshing. We used an Alphard in their parking lot and barely fit. Since I had seen Reviews saying parking gets crowded, I asked if they could temporarily move our car to an outdoor space on checkout morning; they kindly agreed. Overall, I think it would be fairer to add more categories—such as low floor vs high floor and Ameville side vs AEON side—because otherwise guests may feel differences are too big (though maybe this is difficult due to ownership rights?). Overall we were mostly satisfied with our stay, and also loved how convenient it is with AEON and Ameville right next door. Since there are many disappointing Reviews about lounge service right now, if things improve next time I’d like to try a Room with lounge access as well.

    I stayed here on a b...

I stayed here on a business trip to Okinawa. Regarding the multi-story parking garage operations that others had mentioned, the staff explained everything carefully, and I was able to park without any stress. It would be even better if there were a space near the entrance of the garage where guests could temporarily place their luggage. The front desk staff at check-in were professional; although they were from overseas, communication was not an issue. The Room was very spacious for one person, as this is a condo-style Hotel (in a good way). There were many features that highlighted the benefits of a hotel condo, such as a large refrigerator, a comfortable sofa, and a spacious vanity area. The view of American Village from the lanai was also wonderful. Staying just one night felt like a waste—I think this Hotel is ideal for families planning a Multiple Night Stay. I’ll stay here with my family next time!

The staff were friendly and pleasant.

Although it feels like a residential-style Hotel, there is not enough storage for clothing. There are too few hangers, and there are no drawers. Perhaps the design was prioritized, but the toilet faucet and lock are small and difficult to use. Because of the size and placement of the table and sofa, it is not easy to eat meals there. These were the points that concerned me. The Room, toilet, bathroom, and wash area are spacious and clean. I was satisfied with the view as well—you can see the ocean and American Village at night, and even fireworks. All of the staff were pleasant, and they took good care of us in many ways.

    The Ultimate in Convenience

Located in American Village, it’s incredibly convenient—within walking distance of both shopping and the beach. There’s also an AEON nearby, perfect for souvenirs and shopping during longer stays. The Room was a comfortable size, there’s a large public bath, and the breakfast was delicious—very satisfying overall. The staff may not feel particularly polished, but they were friendly and left a great impression. The parking is mechanical so it can take some time, but it might be better than leaving your car out in the blazing sun.

    My first time!

My first stay! It was my first time staying here, and since the Hotel is still newly opened, things felt a bit hectic. It was disappointing that the front desk staff didn’t smile. The building somehow felt more like an apartment, which was a bit strange. It was raining that day, and I got wet on the way to my Room. I was also disappointed that I couldn’t really see the outside view well from the open-air bath. I hope next time I visit, it will be a Hotel with friendly smiles and more energy!

Isn’t the front desk service level too low?

I woke up in the middle of the night because condensation was dripping onto my head. The walls and ceiling were soaking wet. I reported it the next morning, but nothing improved. To prevent condensation, both a dehumidifier and the ventilation fan were needed, but when I turned on the dehumidifier it became too cold to stay in the Room. Since I had planned to stay two nights, I asked to change Rooms, but the same issue occurred there as well. When I asked about compensation, I was told they could offer dessert. As a Business Hotel guest, I don’t expect excessive amenities or service, but their response felt completely off and was very disappointing. They also did not check on the condition of the new Room the following morning. The location is good.

A Hotel with a Stunning Night View

Stayed on April 24. Conveniently located in the heart of Chatan American Village. The building is very clean, and even the handrails along the outdoor corridors are well wiped and maintained. There was an unpleasant odor near the entrance to the large public bath. In some areas, water seems to be pooling under the corridor flooring. As it gets hotter, this could become a source of odor. It’s a shame because fragrance can really change first impressions. The guest room was quiet and clean. The furniture is sturdy, making it comfortable to eat meals in the room. Many of the staff are locals, and there were lots of interesting people. Everyone was very kind and hardworking, which made me happy! A female staff member—on her 5th day as a part-timer—also asked for my impression of the Hotel. I was surprised by her motivation and could really feel her desire to make things even better. I had dinner and lunch at the restaurant, and everything was delicious. You can also order the same restaurant menu via room service. Rihga Royal Resort Okinawa Chatan will likely become more and more popular from here on out. I’ll be back again in June.

    Pros

Pros The Room is spacious, the view is great, the breakfast tacos are delicious, and American Village is nearby. Cons The sink faucet placement is poor and very inconvenient to use, the washing machine smelled slightly, the toilet seat was dirty, and although there is a kitchen, there are no plates. I did not use Facilities such as the large public bath or pool.

    Reserved a Club Delu...

Reserved a Club Deluxe Suite. Arrived at 2:30 PM and was told check-in starts at 3:00 PM, but we were able to complete check-in at 2:45 PM. With our luggage, we headed straight to the club lounge, where alcohol is complimentary until 3:00 PM! Perhaps due to past complaints about the complimentary alcohol hours, it had been extended until 5:30 PM. Complimentary drinks included red and white wine and awamori, along with snacks such as nuts, sata andagi (Okinawan doughnuts), duck ham, salami, and pineapple. Beer was available for an additional charge. The Room was on the 15th floor with great views—beautiful both during the day and at night. There is a partition between the living room and bedroom. The refrigerator had sanpin tea (jasmine tea) and beer. For dinner, we bought food at a nearby AEON supermarket and enjoyed it on the balcony while taking in the night view. The Room also has a microwave. Both the bath and sauna were excellent. The pool was not heated and was small, so we didn’t use it this time. The gym is small but well equipped: two treadmills, one bike, a bench press, dumbbells, etc.—more than enough for a workout. Parking in and out was smooth as well. Maybe because I’m a RIHGA Royal member, checkout was at 12:00 PM, so we could take our time.

Because my expectations were too high

The location was excellent, and we were very satisfied. The room was spacious and nice, but although it is a condo-style unit with a simple kitchen, there were no cutlery or utensils at all, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, since the parking is in a multi-level structure, it took time to enter and exit; I felt it could be made more efficient with better coordination with the front desk. The lounge also has a great view, but the light snacks were not what we had expected and were somewhat disappointing. We hope to see improvements in the future.
