    Although I made a Re...

    Although I made a Reservation through IKYU, this is the first Accommodation that emailed me asking me to complete pre-check-in in advance. I entered fairly sensitive personal information as instructed, but I still wonder whether it was truly necessary. It’s very convenient that you can order amenities via QR code, but they are not replenished quickly and you end up waiting for hours. The Room is much larger and more refined than it looks in the photos, but it isn’t very user-friendly. I would have liked one more mirror. The towels were fluffy and excellent quality. The food was quite good only for the recommended venison; everything else was mediocre. They claim the wine pairing is superb, but as a wine lover I was disappointed. Breakfast was also disappointing. The front desk service was curt and unwelcoming. They repeatedly made mistakes with the billing details and never apologized. The shower temperature was extremely unstable, alternating between cold water and overly hot water. Depending on the angle of the showerhead, quite a lot of water splashes into the wash area as well. This felt oddly familiar—like something you often encounter at decent hotels used on European tours, doesn’t it? Seen that way, it ended up being an enjoyable Accommodation that brought back some nostalgic memories from the past.

    An Accommodation that perfectly matches the concept.

    We stayed in a Compact Suite for a 4-night Multiple Night Stay in winter. We made a Reservation because we were drawn to the location and the concept of “staying as if you live here,” and it truly lived up to that idea. First, the location is excellent. We were able to visit Lake Mashu every day and enjoy how it changes with the weather and time of day. It was also convenient to shop in Teshikaga before or after sightseeing, and access toward Lake Kussharo was easy as well, so we could adjust our plans flexibly depending on how we felt. The services provided and the level of interaction with the staff also felt just right for us. Even without special offerings, we could freely enjoy drinks in the lounge, and by making good use of the refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and electric kettle ourselves, we had a very comfortable stay. We could unwind from everyday social fatigue while still receiving support that never felt inconvenient—highly recommended for guests who prefer minimal interference or for Multiple Night Stay. We booked the dinner course for one night only, but each dish conveyed sincerity toward the ingredients and careful creativity. Everything was delicious, and we’re glad we tried it. One minor point: because the toilet/bathroom fixtures and appliances are very design-focused—and apparently overseas-made (based on labeling)—they weren’t immediately intuitive to use. Once you get used to them, it’s not an issue. Overall, we were very satisfied to be able to spend our time quietly at our own pace throughout the stay without stress or inconvenience.
