    The best Hotel in Sapporo.

Although we did not use the restaurant this time, we found the Room size, in-room environment, and Hotel security to be excellent. The service from the front desk and lounge staff was also very good, making our trip truly relaxing. The large public bath helped relieve our fatigue, and it was a pleasant bonus that the lounge is available in the morning as well. When we visit Sapporo again, we would like to stay at your Hotel again and enjoy the dining too.

    It was comfortable.

I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of 3 nights. There are two entrances, one on the ground floor and one on the basement level; the basement is connected to JR Sapporo Station and Sapporo Subway Station via an underground walkway, so you don’t have to worry even on rainy days. The Room was clean, with a great view of Sapporo Station right in front of the window. There is also a large public bath, which was perfect for relaxing after a long day. I’d love to stay here again if I have the chance to visit Sapporo.

The location was very convenient, and the facilities were excellent.

Right in front of Sapporo Station, and with construction currently underway across the street, the view was still great this time. The staff were friendly yet professional, which made my stay very comfortable.

    A clean Hotel

Because it’s a new Hotel, I’d been looking forward to staying here and made a Reservation well in advance. The lobby lounge furnishings were lovely, and the Room amenities were well stocked. Breakfast was delicious; I chose the Japanese set, and it was very satisfying. The appetizers were buffet-style, and the honey bar was wonderful—everything was very tasty. The view from the Room faced construction, but it was amazing to be able to see Sapporo Station beyond the site. Once the building is completed, you may no longer be able to see Sapporo Station—so now might be your chance.

Sapporo’s first luxury Hotel is here!

I travel to Sapporo on business 3–4 times a year, and this is the No.1 Hotel I’ve stayed at so far! Access from the underground entrance is excellent, and above all, the Room size and bed quality are on par with luxury-class Hotels. The price is a bit high, but it’s a Hotel that more than delivers satisfaction. Now that a Hotel of this level has finally opened in Sapporo, trips to Sapporo have become even more enjoyable.

This is an excellent Hotel. We highly recommend it.

As it was the last day of my business trip, I stayed here for personal use. Since I was getting around by subway that day, the staff kindly stored my suitcase before I left in the morning. With an entrance directly connected to Chi-Ka-Ho, getting around was extremely smooth. The Hotel interior was filled with a pleasant aroma, and the luxurious design was truly wonderful. In particular, because this is a high-floor Hotel right in front of Sapporo Station, you can clearly see the construction work underway toward the opening of the Hokkaido Shinkansen. The construction site at night was also an amazing view. The Room amenities and interior—everything exceeded my expectations. The pajamas were especially outstanding: they felt soft to the touch, and what surprised me most was that once I put them on, I didn’t feel their weight at all. The bed and linens were top-class as well. I usually have trouble falling asleep and tend to notice something off wherever I stay, but in this Room I slept soundly. In the large public bath, there were ReFa hair dryers and hair irons available, which made it very comfortable to use. What I looked forward to most was breakfast. In addition to three main options, there is a buffet—and just looking over the dishes made me completely satisfied. I chose the Japanese set meal; while waiting, fresh orange juice and coffee service were offered and brought to my table. Although I had been cutting back on coffee lately, the Hokkaido milk (I believe it may have been from Nakashibetsu) and cream were so delicious that I ended up having seconds. There was a wide variety of menu items and everything tasted great; the soup curry, grilled lamb yakiniku-style dish, and potato salad were exceptional. The milk pudding dessert (?) was rich—I regretted being too full to eat more than that! There seemed to be many foreign families staying as well, and everyone appeared very satisfied. Thanks to this stay—even though it was short—I was able to enjoy Hokkaido and Sapporo. Thank you very much."""

    I really enjoyed the breakfast.

The Gate Hotel is our favorite, and we also stay at their properties in Tokyo and Yokohama. My husband looks forward to trying each Hotel’s limited breakfast, so when we decided on a trip to Sapporo, The Gate Hotel was our only choice. The Room was clean and easy to use, and the loan items were well stocked. The staff in Sapporo were especially warm and welcoming, and their careful email communication beforehand made us feel at ease about our stay. Breakfast was exactly what we hoped for—not only the main dish, but also the buffet selection felt like the most extensive we’ve had. We enjoyed sampling local flavors little by little, such as grilled vegetables, soup curry, and soft Katsugen. There was construction right in front of the Hotel, but we barely noticed any noise; if anything, it felt like a rare chance to watch a large construction site from above—an experience in itself. The package we asked the front desk to ship arrived safely today as well. Thank you very much.

    Sapporo

There are many Hotels around Sapporo Station, and I wasn’t sure which one to choose, but I decided to stay here because of the great location, the new Hotel, the large public bath, and the added bonus of being able to see the station-front redevelopment construction from the Room. The result was excellent. Being close to the station was very convenient. The front desk staff kindly answered my questions, the Room was clean, the loungewear was a soft two-piece set, and the bed was comfortable. The large public bath wasn’t crowded, and I was especially happy to have ReFa hair dryers and hair irons available. Personally, I could have watched the station-front redevelopment work from the window forever. They were working during both daytime and late at night, and I was amazed by construction vehicles I had never seen before and by how massive the project is. It felt like a view you can only see right now. The bus stop for direct shuttle buses to ES CON Field is also nearby, which was very convenient. This is a Hotel I’d definitely like to stay at again!

An elegant and beautiful Hotel—highly recommended.

This was my first time staying for 2 nights. (With Club Lounge access) The Hotel is new and clean. It’s a high-rise with great views. The Room had a separate toilet and bath, which was nice. The large public bath was relaxing to use. It was clean and I was satisfied. It’s close to both Sapporo Station and Odori, so the location is great. As others have mentioned about the Club Lounge, there is alcohol, but I believe the only free-flow option was wine. Beer and whisky were charged separately, which was quite disappointing. I think it should be free-flow as well. If you’re paying for Club Lounge access, I think it’s better to drink on a floor where you can also dine. Other than that, there were a few snacks and soft drinks. Sorry for the harsh comments. For breakfast, it was buffet-style and I was satisfied. It’s nice that you can choose a main dish in either Japanese or Western style. However, if you’re visiting Hokkaido for sightseeing, please note that there are no local specialties or seafood such as sashimi. All of the Hotel staff were kind and smiling. The atmosphere is very pleasant. I will visit again.

    We had a wonderful time.

This was my first stay. [Front Desk] Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. In particular, I would like to thank the female staff member who assisted me by phone when I left something behind. Her excellent support truly impressed me. Thank you again. [Lounge] It had a very relaxing atmosphere where I could unwind. [Room] It was clean and comfortable. Since this was a sightseeing trip, I was rarely in the Room, but it helped me recover from a full day of exploring. Thank you very much.

    Convenience or sustainability?

I chose this Hotel because it’s close to the station, new, has a separate washbasin, a large public bath, and spacious Rooms. Based on Reviews saying there is construction across the street even late at night, I brought earplugs. Sure enough, for some reason the construction was more active at night. Seniors didn’t seem bothered—perhaps because the low-frequency noise is harder to hear—but for others it was noticeable, so earplugs were the right choice. The Hotel wasn’t at fault at all, and I had a comfortable stay. It sounds like the construction will continue for several more years, so it comes down to whether you prioritize convenience or a quieter environment.\nThat said, on the second day I must have walked a lot—I slept like a log.

    A New, Tranquil Hotel

I stayed for two nights and had a comfortable, restful time. I could hardly hear any noise from outside the Room. The large public bath was small but pleasant to use. The best part was breakfast. The vegetables in the miso soup were fresh and fragrant, and I wished I could have had a second serving. The orange juice was also high quality. I would be happy if the lounge offered a wider selection of alcoholic drinks and snacks. I would like to stay again.

    I’ve stayed at The G...

I’ve stayed at The Gate Hotel in various locations, but this was my first time in Sapporo. Even the smallest Room has a bathroom with a separate washing area, which is the deciding factor for me and one of the reasons it’s one of my favorite Hotels. The location is convenient, and since it has only recently opened, the Room was new and comfortable. I had a Multiple Night Stay and added breakfast for just one day. I love that there’s a wide variety of salads, and I also enjoy being able to choose a main dish unique to the area each time. As it was during Golden Week, the rate was a bit higher, but overall I was satisfied.

This time, I stayed at The Gate Hotel Sapporo by HULIC.

The Hotel had a very calm atmosphere throughout, and the room was clean and comfortable, allowing us to relax and unwind. The view from the large windows was refreshing, making it an ideal space to forget about everyday life. From the breakfast venue, we could also enjoy a rare, limited-time view as the area in front of Sapporo Station is undergoing major changes. All of the staff were courteous, and their thoughtful attention to detail made our stay especially pleasant. This trip also doubled as an anniversary stay, and it became a wonderful time we will remember. The location is excellent—convenient for sightseeing and dining—so I highly recommend this Hotel for anyone staying in Sapporo. If I have the chance to visit Sapporo again, I would definitely like to stay here again.

    Convenient

It was convenient because I could get there from Sapporo Station via the underground passageway. However, there was construction right in front of the property, so the air felt poor and extremely dry, which was a bit tough for me since I have a sensitive throat. The Room itself was reasonably spacious and clean, but it felt like the cleaning hadn’t reached every corner—for example, the edge of the amenities box felt slimy. The bed may be good for those who prefer a firmer mattress. There were four soft pillows, but it was a little difficult to adjust the height. The closet has doors, which was very nice.

    I was satisfied with everything.

An excellent location convenient for JR Sapporo Station, the subway, department stores, and getting around the city, with a front desk directly accessible by elevator from the underground shopping arcade. Even though I used an Essential Double as a single guest, the Room was spacious, and despite having a large public bath, it also had a fully equipped bathroom with a rain shower. The amenities and coffee were more than sufficient. A Hotel I was completely satisfied with in every way.

    It was my first time...

It was my first time in Sapporo, and the Hotel is connected to the station underground, so I could go shopping and out for meals without going outside. The stylish design was wonderful, and both the large public bath and the Room were clean and lovely. The staff greeted me warmly every time we met, which made my stay very pleasant. However, I couldn’t sleep at all due to noise from construction in front of the station. When I mentioned it the next day, they kindly changed my Room right away, and after that my stay was much more comfortable. I know it’s not something the Hotel can control, so I felt sorry to bring it up, but I truly appreciate how quickly they responded. I would like to stay here again when I visit Sapporo.

    The Hotel was good.

This wasn’t the Hotel’s fault, but due to construction near the station at night, I couldn’t sleep very well. The breakfast was delicious. The bath was great. The Room was clean, and the amenities were well stocked.

    A View Only Available Now

I came to Sapporo to watch sports. Because I have concerns about my legs and back, I chose this Hotel near the station for easy access. As it has only been a few months since opening, the Facility was beautiful and well equipped. The front desk staff were polite and kind, so I had a very comfortable stay and would like to stay again. In recent years, redevelopment in Sapporo seems to be progressing, with new commercial complexes opening one after another, and the area right in front of this Hotel was also under active construction. As noted on the Hotel website, you can hear construction noise from early morning until late at night, so it may be difficult for those who are sensitive to noise. However, I was thrilled to see a large-scale construction site clearly visible from my Room (lol). I was also able to enjoy the view around Sapporo Station—scenery that will likely be blocked once new buildings go up in a few years.

    We had a wonderful holiday.

Being close to the station is truly appreciated above all else! In addition, the calm atmosphere is genuinely wonderful—it really hits all the right notes for adults. Breakfast was also excellent, and being able to enjoy such high-quality food at a relaxed pace was pure bliss. I’d love to stay at The Gate Hotel again, and at its other locations as well.

Direct access to Sapporo Station for ultimate convenience!

Directly connected to Sapporo Station via the underground shopping arcade, it was extremely convenient for dome concerts and nights out in Susukino. As it’s a new building, everything is spotless and the design is stylish. In-room amenities are minimal, but the large public bath offers Sekkisei skincare as well as ReFa hair dryers, straighteners, and curling irons, which was much appreciated. However, like other nearby hotels, there is major redevelopment underway in front of Sapporo Station, so some construction noise continues even at night. It’s even louder during the day, so guests staying during daytime hours or those sensitive to noise should be aware.

The property felt different from what the photos suggested.

It felt like a very typical Business Hotel. The Facility was relatively new and the building was clean, but the service was not particularly memorable, and overall it felt average. I also made a Reservation because I was drawn to the view from the window shown on the website, but in reality there was hardly any view to enjoy. That part was a bit disappointing.

Overall, it felt average—neither particularly good nor bad. The Facility is relatively new, and the convenient location with good transport access is a plus. However, the Room was quite compact, and the actual impression differed significantly from the photos shown on the website. The view was also nothing to get your hopes up about. As for service, it didn’t leave a particularly positive impression either; overall, it felt fairly standard.

    First Stay

This was my first stay at this new Hotel. The first thing I noticed was that it is very inconvenient for those traveling by car. There is no parking lot or entrance to unload luggage, so it might be more suitable for those using JR or walking. The staff at the front desk were still getting accustomed to their roles, but they greeted me with a warm smile, which made the experience pleasant. However, the woman next to them had no smile and ignored my greetings, giving off an unfriendly impression that felt inappropriate for someone working at the front desk. The Room was very clean and nice since it’s newly built; however, as a triple room with single beds, it felt a bit cramped. I also noticed significant dust on the bath towels, which stuck to my face after washing up or bathing—this was concerning. On the positive side, having separate toilet and bathroom facilities and daily thorough cleaning were excellent features. Breakfast wasn’t included in my stay but I tried it once for an additional fee of 3,800 yen per person. It wasn’t particularly impressive but tasted good overall—though I had higher expectations. It felt like staying in a slightly upscale Business Hotel. I also used the lounge on the top floor where I enjoyed quiet time along with coffee and desserts that were delicious. However, only wine was available as complimentary alcohol options with limited variety. If asked whether I’d stay again—I think I'd prefer trying somewhere else next time.

Great location! So glad I stayed here.

You can walk from Sapporo Station through the underground walkway. The entrance to the Hotel was a bit tricky to find, both from above ground and underground. Since it just opened, everything is very clean and well-maintained. The bathroom and toilet are separate, with a spacious bathtub. As a woman, I appreciated the disposable slippers, two-piece colored Room wear, and the small hand cream included in the amenities. However, I found it slightly inconvenient that while basic amenities were provided in the Room, there was no lotion or similar items available. Additionally, there was no proper lighting for makeup application; without light directly on your face, applying makeup in dim conditions was quite challenging. The toilet paper felt soft and of high quality but didn’t work well with its holder—it tore easily during use and left bits of paper on the floor. It would be great if this could be improved! Lifting up the holder made it easier to use without issues. All staff members provided excellent service with warm hospitality. The restaurant inside the Hotel (dinner) served delicious food in a lovely atmosphere—I look forward to visiting again! Thank you very much!
