    Wonderful

    Everything was excellent, including the surrounding environment. The staff and the proprietress were all impeccable in their hospitality. Thank you very much. We will visit again in November to see the autumn leaves.

    Experience a luxury accommodation.

    I stayed with my daughter. It was my first time using a luxury Accommodation. We chose to have both dinner and breakfast served outdoors, but it was a little cold. It was enjoyable to hear various stories about the Yukawa River and the hot spring source. We also used the private bath, but it would have been better if we could choose between the two options. I would like to stay again someday, but the price is a bit high.

    What I remember is his gentle sincerity.

    Kamasaki Onsen is well known for its excellent water quality. Although I was born and raised in Sendai, I didn’t manage to visit until more than 10 years after moving to Tokyo. The spring water contains salt, and after a long soak your skin feels plump and firm. Hot water in the 50°C range flows into the bath, and it’s great that you can add cold water. (I want to soak in lukewarm water for 60 minutes; my partner wants a quick refresh in very hot water.) Zoning out, zoning out, zoning out—watching the trees and sky, reading a book, feeling the breeze—it’s pure bliss. The meals are classic banquet-style fare done by the book. They must have a team trained at top culinary schools. It may not be especially refined, but it reminds me of the kind of food we had when our extended family rented a Hotel hall to celebrate my grandparents’ milestones—universally satisfying comfort that most people will find delicious. (That said, I was disappointed that the diced paprika at breakfast was unevenly cut. And I wish the strawberries had been halved.) All in all, what we talked about on the Shinkansen ride home was “one particular dish from dinner” and “the gentleman who took care of us from pickup to farewell.” I want to come back just to be escorted by him again. His gentle sincerity became one of the highlights of this stay. A place with an exciting future ahead. (We also booked an in-room massage—60 full minutes—and it was excellent. We get lymphatic massages every month, and this felt like outstanding value; highly recommended.)

    上等な旅館が好き

    Looking forward to the future.

    I had high expectations for this brand-new Hotel. However, both the building and facilities did not feel like they matched the price of nearly 300,000 yen per night. Especially the bath. The bath consisted of an open-air Onsen on the veranda (or balcony?) and a shower room only. Even during autumn when I visited, it was cold and took courage to undress and step into the open-air Onsen. I wonder how it will be in winter? You would have to move almost naked from a warm area to a freezing one. For a Hotel of this level, I believe there should be an additional indoor bath within the Room. Additionally, there was a note saying "Please do not dip white towels into the Onsen as they will turn brown due to its color." However, even just wiping my body caused the towel to stain brown. Even without dipping it in, once wet with water from the Onsen, it turned brown. It made me very cautious while using them. Perhaps stylish dark brown towels could have been provided instead. Moving from my Room to where meals were served also required walking along outdoor corridors exposed to heat or cold weather conditions. The meals themselves did not seem worth their price; they were quite ordinary. That said, as this Hotel is managed by an established Ryokan group with history behind them—I hope they continue learning and improving towards becoming truly exceptional in future!

    The Ultimate Accommodation

    There is no other accommodation in Tohoku that offers such a location, dining, open-air baths, rooms, and service. You'll understand once you visit.

    We had a blissful time.

    7-8 years ago, I stayed at Accommodation Yumori Ichijo and was deeply impressed by the medicinal bath and delicious meals. When I heard about the newly built annex, I decided to visit again. Unlike Yumori Ichijo, the annex is surrounded by a forest with the soothing sound of a river. The high ceilings and brand-new interior created a very pleasant atmosphere in the room. Being able to enjoy the medicinal bath anytime from within our room was truly wonderful. Additionally, having separate living and bedroom areas divided by a door allowed us to enjoy our own time since we have different sleeping schedules—this was very convenient for us. However, perhaps because my expectations were high, there were some minor disappointments as well. The flavors of some dishes became slightly too strong towards the end of dinner, and I felt that if the final rice dish had been lighter than harami rice, it would have been even better. Also, during breakfast, I noticed that the pear served as dessert had dried out over time; this caught my attention. On a positive note, though—the yogurt with honey was delicious! While I couldn’t eat their specialty raw egg myself, my husband enjoyed two servings and found it amazing. Although small details stood out due to my high expectations overall—I appreciated their attention to ingredients and tableware which made for an enjoyable visual experience alongside tasty meals! The seri hot pot prepared personally by their head chef was especially delightful. I did worry about encountering bears but thankfully didn’t see any during our stay! The shuttle service provided exclusively for us felt luxurious—it made for an incredibly special experience overall!
