    A place where time flows slowly and peacefully

    We stayed in a suite. We were very satisfied with the size of the Room and the terrace, and the peaceful rural view was truly soothing. We could also see the stars clearly at night. We enjoyed the welcome drink and sweets, which raised our expectations for dinner—and they did not disappoint. The course meal served in our Room was wonderful, with the staff kindly explaining each dish, and even the chef came to greet us in person. Everything looked beautiful, but it tasted exactly as amazing as we hoped—perhaps even better. I ate each dish in genuine amazement. It made me wish we could casually enjoy this cuisine nearby whenever we wanted. As for dessert at dinner, we were surprised by both the canelé and the chocolate—the canelé for its delicious flavor, and the chocolate for its unique texture! It’s not hard; there’s something special inside. I truly hope you’ll try it. Breakfast was very filling. The egg dish was so luxurious that I couldn’t help blurting out “Wow!” I felt happy thinking, “I ate so many vegetables!” The bread was homemade and delicious, and they kindly wrapped up what we couldn’t finish to take with us. With meals like this included, we looked at each other as a family and said how unbelievably affordable this Accommodation Fee felt. We were also happy to purchase a lovely wood plate as a souvenir—it made for a wonderful stay overall. Thanks to the warm hospitality of all the staff, it became a trip where we lost track of time, and meeting the chef’s kind personality as well made us deeply grateful for such delicious food and such special moments. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us.

    The food and service were outstanding. The view from the window was wonderful. It’s well worth the trip just for the dining. If possible, I’d recommend visiting every season.

    A wonderful auberge!

    We stayed here last year, and everything was outstanding—the quality of the cuisine, the wine pairings, the hospitality of the staff, and the view from the Room—so we decided to return. A year after opening, each dish was prepared with even greater care, and we fully enjoyed the seasonal flavors and excellent local ingredients from Nara. The pairing selection also included local sake from Sakurai City alongside wine; it matched beautifully with the dishes and made our dining experience even more enriching. The staff were friendly throughout and attentive while maintaining a comfortable sense of distance, allowing my wife and me to spend a truly relaxing time. The bath potpourri had a lovely fragrance, and the baked sweets we received were also delicious. We look forward to visiting again.

    Happy 1st anniversary.

    I was wondering how things would be after the change in management, but it was a comfortable stay with meals truly worthy of an auberge. The young chef is full of talent, and I’m excited to see what kind of dishes he will create in the future. As for service—such as the timing of meal service—I think it will become more refined as they gain experience. If I had to mention anything, I would have appreciated having both loungewear and pajamas, and on a smaller note, amenities like shoe-shining supplies. I will visit again.

    As spring approached, I was soothed by the beautiful rural scenery viewed from the Room. Both dinner and breakfast featured locally sourced ingredients, and every dish was thoughtfully prepared—I truly enjoyed them. I felt it would be even better if the bath were larger. I would definitely like to visit again in a different season.

    I’m glad I could spend such precious time here.

    Considering the travel time from Kyushu, I felt sorry for my sisters, but as soon as we entered the Room, they greeted it with big smiles and really loved it. At checkout, they even said they wanted to stay one more night—it was that comfortable. As for the meals, I was worried because neither of them can eat a large amount at once and they have various ingredients they dislike. However, thanks to the high-quality hospitality and attentiveness of the hotel staff, they adjusted the portions and confirmed cooking methods and ingredients for us, so we were able to enjoy both breakfast and dinner. I was truly happy about this. I’m glad my sisters and I were able to spend such a wonderful time here.

    A foodie girls’ geta...

    A foodie girls’ getaway in a quiet mountain village, on a hill with sweeping views of the mountains and fields below. The staff were all warm and easy to talk to. In the lobby, we enjoyed welcome drinks and sweets, and the sofas were wonderfully spacious. In our Room, we listened to birdsong and toasted on the terrace with beer and persimmon tea. The sun setting over the mountain range was beautiful. We kept lunch light (and skipped snacks) to save room for dinner. The dinner menu listed only ingredients, so we had fun guessing what each dish would be like while we waited. Every course was delicious and stunning to look at—pure happiness. We added the optional spring foie gras with the meat dish, and it was absolutely the right choice: rich aroma, deep flavor—and foie gras even topped the dessert. So satisfying. After dinner, we relaxed with herbal tea by the fireplace flames, along with canelé and chocolate—too blissful for words. Breakfast was just as wonderful: two kinds of smoothies, a chef-recommended omelet, five types of bread, salad with prosciutto, a broccoli soup that was more like a purée than a soup in the best way, and their special granola. We started the day in great spirits—full of happiness and dreams. We’d love to come back again soon.

    It was the best vacation.

    Stayed in an Executive Room and fully enjoyed French cuisine. The carefully prepared dishes made with locally sourced ingredients were delicious and outstanding. It was the perfect holiday.

    A Refined Stay

    As a fan of Sankara Yakushima, I learned that there is an affiliated Hotel in Nara and decided to visit. As soon as I stepped into the entrance, the wonderful scent of wood was so soothing, and I checked in while enjoying a glass of champagne. That instantly lifted my mood—I couldn’t wait until dinner, so I made a small request and had another round of champagne in the lounge. It would be perfect if guests could also enjoy an aperitif there, so SENVIE, please consider it. The first part of dinner was understated in both presentation and flavor—delicious in its simplicity and focused on bringing out the ingredients’ natural taste—but for me it felt slightly lacking… until the fish course arrived. Its striking deliciousness completely won me over. I’d love to return again in a different season.

    Stayed here for Chri...

    Stayed here for Christmas after hearing it’s part of the same group as Sankara. It exceeded expectations with exceptional hospitality and delicious cuisine. Having visited several times before, I found Senvie’s dishes to be more reflective of Nara, filled with care and love, making them even tastier! I feel both a desire to support this place and a wish for it to remain a hidden gem, haha. Thank you very much. I’ll visit again!

    View from the Room...

    The staff were all pleasant, and the meals met expectations, with dinner being particularly intriguing. The warmth of the wooden interiors and the focus on using local Nara products were noticeable. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset thanks to good weather. However, there were several concerns—these are purely personal impressions: While some may not mind, the view of a cemetery from the room was unsettling. On a hot day, entering a room heated by strong western sunlight was surprising due to its extreme warmth. Since we had informed our arrival time in advance, it might have been more comfortable if the air conditioning had been turned on before check-in or during that process. The main dining area offers a panoramic view of Sakurai City; however, wide window frames obstructed much of this scenery. After dinner at the café lounge, we enjoyed sitting by a cozy fireplace flame; however, due to low temperatures in the room itself - tea quickly became cold again! There wasn’t clear guidance regarding digestifs either so eventually returned back upstairs without knowing options available here fully explored yet. Breakfast included an overly large vegetable salad initially served alongside firm-textured plain omelets recommended earlier but lacked fresh juice offerings entirely while only water remained available throughout mealtime instead! Smoothies/jams/breads tasted great though portions felt insufficient overall compared against expectations beforehand. Finding accommodation proved challenging since located within university grounds marked prominently via signage discouraging entry unless necessary purposes existed beforehand leading confusion whether proceeding further permissible altogether initially unclear until later clarified better signage could help avoid such situations happening again future guests alike! Transportation posed difficulties given remote location primarily accessible via car usage predominantly among visitors staying overnight accommodations themselves lacking shuttle services exclusively reserved solely towards them would improve convenience significantly otherwise limited public transit options nearby currently present today unfortunately still remain unchanged despite growing demand seen elsewhere similar cases worldwide already implemented successfully elsewhere too previously noted examples cited above mentioned earlier paragraphs written hereinabove stated facts documented accordingly referenced sources consulted verified accuracy confirmed validity authenticity ensured compliance standards regulations governing industry practices followed strictly adhered guidelines     The renovation is excellent.

    I used to visit frequently during the Hiratsuma era, but this was my first time staying after the renewal opening. The cuisine as an auberge was excellent, and the Room maintained its cleanliness, making for a comfortable Multiple Night Stay. An extraordinary experience in a rural setting. Highly recommended to everyone. Looking forward to visiting again!

    Thank you for your hospitality. The location was excellent, and as a return visit since Hiratsuma, the breathtaking view did not disappoint. The meals were also exceptionally delicious. However, regarding the room allocation, there was some confusion. Even after asking why the corner room could not be used, I did not receive a satisfactory explanation. In the end, I was able to use my preferred room. If there is no specific reason, providing better rooms at the same price would likely increase satisfaction. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a slightly disappointing stay.

    We enjoyed the local ingredients of Nara.

    I enjoyed a Multiple Night Stay for sightseeing in Nara. The dishes and sweets prepared by the chef and patissier, using various ingredients from Nara, were absolutely delicious. Daily conversations with the chef were delightful, and I was amazed by their thoughtfulness in preparing my favorite dishes for the next day's menu. The staff's high level of hospitality made my stay very comfortable. Although it’s not a location I can visit frequently, I would love to come back again.

    On a hilltop overlooking the tranquil scenery of Sakurai, Nara, we enjoyed wonderful dishes made with local Nara ingredients, perfectly paired, all while being welcomed by the staff’s warm smiles. The handmade potpourri after dinner was a lovely touch, and the sweets we received on our way home were also delicious. In every detail, we could feel how much care the manager and staff put into creating this auberge, and we became big fans of Sanvi. We will definitely visit again.

    Enjoy a Luxurious Space and Time

    A newly opened accommodation this spring, located in a historic area close to Asuka and Kashihara. This was my first time staying here. Carefully selected ingredients nurtured by the seasonal essence and the unique climate of Nara. Under the direction of the chef, every dish is crafted with exceptional skill, leaving a deep impression on me. Not indulgent luxury, but a rich and tranquil space and time.     Enjoyed the charm of Nara to the fullest.

    I have always loved the Asuka and Sakurai area, visiting many times, but I struggled with the lack of suitable accommodations and often had to make day trips from Nara, which was quite inconvenient. This time, I found this hotel on IKYU.com and stayed for two nights. The access to my desired sightseeing spots such as shrines and ancient tombs was excellent, which was very helpful. The hotel is located in a quiet elevated area with a serene atmosphere. The view of the surrounding countryside right in front of the hotel allowed me to fully enjoy Nara's charm just by gazing at the scenery in the morning and evening. The staff were attentive and considerate, making my stay very pleasant. The meals featured delicate flavors that highlighted local ingredients from Nara. The bitterness and tanginess of Yamato vegetables were perfectly balanced, while the colors of sauces and presentation delighted both my eyes and taste buds. For the main meat dish, the chef carved it right in front of us before plating it beautifully—a performance that added to our enjoyment. Desserts were served in a wooden box with a digital photo frame displaying images introducing people involved with the hotel—a wonderful idea that reinforced their "local production for local consumption" concept. Thanks to detailed explanations about each dish from one of their staff members, I even bought some celery pickled in Nara-style sake lees at a recommended shop on my way home. This is an exceptional hotel where you can fully explore sightseeing spots during the day while enjoying exquisite cuisine and relaxing evenings at night. I would love to stay here again—thank you so much!
