    We had a wonderful stay.

We chose the Surprise Plan for a celebration, and the communication was very courteous. The Room and open-air bath were spacious, relaxing, and very clean. We were also happy to have plenty of free drinks. We chose the wagyu course, and everything was delicious. The staff were friendly, and we enjoyed chatting with them as well. Being able to adjust the open-air bath ourselves meant we could always soak at just the right temperature, which was a great feature. Breakfast was also excellent. We felt refreshed in both body and mind, the surprise was a success, and we’re truly glad we chose this place. We’d love to stay in one of the other Rooms too!

    We had a wonderful stay.

I produce architectural projects for Hotels and Ryokans, and I learned a great deal from your excellent approach to space renovations and the wide range of services you offer. I was also very impressed by NAZUNA’s management philosophy for its Hotels and other properties. I would like to stay at another NAZUNA Facility as well.

Enjoy a birthday surprise, an open-air bath, and delicious meals

I wanted to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and you suggested surprise arrangements. Through our thoughtful and detailed communication, we were able to spend a truly memorable time that will stay in our hearts. Dining at the irori counter was warm, delicious, and a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and it rained at night, but the roofed open-air bath was a great help. We were also able to enjoy the varying shades of green in the trees, including the maple leaves. I soaked in the Onsen many times and fully enjoyed forest bathing. I hope to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much.

A Top-Ranked Private Retreat in Hakone

A well-known Hotel brand from Kyoto had opened in Hakone, so we decided to visit, and it was perfect—the Hakone-style atmosphere with a touch of Kyoto elegance, and the open-air bath as well. Dinner and breakfast were very satisfying, featuring ingredients from Kyoto and local produce. It only opened last year and many people still don’t know about it, but once it becomes more widely known, I think it will be an Accommodation that’s hard to get a Reservation for. I’m glad we came early.

    Used to celebrate her birthday.

I stayed here recently to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. It was an easy, stress-free walk up the hill from the nearest bus stop. The Room, dining area, and shared spaces were all beautifully designed with a refined Japanese aesthetic. The staff were outstanding, and their thoughtful attention to detail left a strong impression. Although I hadn’t mentioned in advance that it was her birthday, once they realized it, they seemed to share the information among the team and offered warm congratulations and a dessert plate with a message—such heartfelt service. The Room was excellent: luxurious yet relaxing, making it easy to unwind while enjoying the Onsen. It isn’t cheap, but we had an experience that exceeded the price, so we were very satisfied. There are many Onsen Facility options in Hakone, but I would definitely like to stay here again.

It's a business model aimed at inbound demand.

I had been pondering the sense of discomfort I felt after checking in, wondering, "Why is it like this?" For a price under 30,000 yen per person with two meals included, I would rate all aspects a perfect 5 out of 5. As for areas of improvement, I completely agree with what others have mentioned and won't specify further—I encourage everyone to stay and experience it for themselves. Accommodations in Hakone are truly refined, with many exceptional options available. Thank you very much for your hospitality. I will not be revisiting.

    Looking forward to the future.

We stayed here for my wife's birthday trip. The Ryokan is located halfway up a steep hill, and the road was quite narrow. We couldn't find the entrance or parking lot at first, passed by it once, and had a hard time turning back. The welcome drink and free drinks were nice. For dinner, we had shabu-shabu. A staff member stayed with us the whole time, chatting while preparing the shabu-shabu for us—it was an enjoyable experience! While the dinner itself was delicious, there were few dishes served, and it seemed challenging for the staff to stay by our table constantly tending to the pot. Perhaps this could be improved? Although it seems inspired by Kyoto, there wasn’t much of a Kyoto feel; instead, it felt more like an Italian menu! I hope this can be reconsidered as well. At breakfast, we were directed to a table that was wet and dirty. Breakfast also involved staff grilling vegetables over an irori (traditional hearth), but again they had to stay with us throughout—this seemed like quite a burden on them. The Room with its private open-air bath was clean and very pleasant—we really liked it! However, considering that it's not inexpensive: - Some parts of the Ryokan showed exposed piping (apologies if this is intentional design). - Attention to detail during breakfast service felt lacking. Overall: It wasn’t bad but also not great either. Given its price point, I left feeling somewhat disappointed rather than satisfied—I had hoped for an exceptional experience but ended up slightly let down. Since I hear it's still relatively new, I sincerely hope improvements will be made in these areas moving forward. Thank you!

    A One-of-a-Kind Experience

We stayed in the Gojo Room as a couple! When we opened the sliding doors, we were greeted by lush greenery and an open-air bath. It was so comfortable being able to bathe whenever we wanted! There was what seemed to be a campfire stand unique to Gojo, and at night we could relax while watching the flames with a drink. We also heard you can roast marshmallows! Breakfast was a Japanese-style meal cooked over an irori hearth—an experience you rarely find at other accommodations, and it truly impressed us. The grilled vegetables (which I don’t usually eat) were especially delicious, and the staff grilled them right in front of us while sharing recommendations for Hakone. Our one-night, two-day stay flew by and felt incredibly fulfilling. Usually I just remember thinking “that room was nice,” but this time both the room and the staff were so wonderful that it became an unforgettable stay. If we have another chance, we’d love to stay in a different Room!

A Trip to Hakone for the First Time in 10 Years

It was my first time staying overnight in Hakone in quite a while. The Room we used is said to be the only one with an indoor bath, and it had thoughtful touches unique to an indoor-bath Room, such as a rotating TV and speakers provided. For breakfast, they grilled vegetables over an irori hearth and even taught us the recommended way to eat them. The grilled vegetables with salt were incredibly delicious!

    I was truly impressed.

This was my first visit with my wife. We stayed in the Room called “Sanjo.” I’ve visited various luxury Ryokan before, but I think this Room is the best. From the walls and ceiling to the bath, it features an abundance of wood such as hinoki cypress. The two of us kept saying how incredible the Room was. The staff member who had worked at a famous Hotel in Tokyo was very friendly, listened attentively to me even though I’d had a bit too much to drink at dinner, and made it a really enjoyable time. The meals were very delicious; however, since this is part of a Kyoto Ryokan group, I feel that if it were kaiseki cuisine from Kyoto, it would be perfect. That’s just my personal opinion—I simply love kaiseki dishes that you savor one by one. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us.

    A rare find in Hakone

A new, clean Accommodation. The late-night herring soba was delicious and a nice touch. Dinner featured fresh ingredients grilled over charcoal, enjoyed at the counter. Breakfast also offered a choice of wagyu beef, which was satisfying. During meals, I noticed staff being unusually friendly with other guests, but the volume and content of the conversation felt a bit uncomfortable. At night, light snacks and drinks were available in the dining area, but when I went to get some, there was hardly anything left—food or drinks.

    A wonderful newly opened Accommodation

I stayed at a newly opened Accommodation in Miyanoshita, Hakone. This time I stayed in the Room called Gojo, and the open-air bath was incredibly spacious and luxurious. Next to it was a sofa area with a fireplace, and there was even a service where you can roast marshmallows. It was my first time staying at an Accommodation where I could enjoy myself so much just in the Room. For both breakfast and dinner, you can enjoy dishes cooked right in front of you over the irori hearth by the staff. Not only was the food delicious, but chatting with the staff was also so much fun, and I had a wonderful time. There was also a late-night snack service, so I could enjoy myself without getting bored from check-in to check-out. I would definitely love to come back again when I visit Hakone. Thank you very much!

    Travel for Your Wedding Anniversary

I stayed in a luxury room with dinner and breakfast included. The Room had a Japanese-style design and a natural ambiance, and it was very clean. However, since the area is surrounded by mountains, leaving the door slightly open allowed many insects to enter, which was inconvenient. Other than that, I was very satisfied. Regarding service and meals, there were several disappointments. There seemed to be a noticeable difference in service quality between staff members who were employees and those who were part-time workers. When served by part-time staff, their lack of experience made the service feel inferior compared to other guests' experiences. As for meals, there was an issue with cleanliness at the table with an irori (traditional sunken hearth). The paper mat placed on my side of the table had ash from charcoal near it as well as on it. It seemed like the ash got on after placing the mat; I would have appreciated if they replaced or cleaned it beforehand. I informed one of the staff members about this issue during dinner service, and they cleaned it promptly. For dinner, there was a menu provided detailing each dish; however, no such explanation or menu was given during breakfast. When breakfast arrived without any explanation from staff for some time despite waiting briefly for one to come over—I ended up eating without knowing what each dish contained until someone came 15 minutes later explaining everything after most food already consumed felt unnecessary delay awkwardness overall experience diminished slightly due lack communication clarity upfront handling expectations better future improvements suggested here!

    I heard that a new A...

I heard that a new Accommodation was opening in Hakone, so I made a Reservation right away and stayed there. The Room was very clean, and you can enjoy the Onsen while taking in a wonderful view of Hakone’s nature. The amenities were thoughtfully selected and very convenient to use. Both dinner and breakfast are served at an irori hearth, and it was great fun to watch the staff grill the food right in front of us. The flavors of the ingredients really stood out, and everything was delicious. Above all, all of the staff were incredibly kind—this was a truly wonderful Accommodation. I would definitely like to stay again when I visit Hakone.

    For the price...

This accommodation focuses on SDGs, which may explain the limited amenities, but they feel insufficient. The toothbrush quality is particularly poor—it frays easily and becomes unusable after one use. Meals take time to prepare but are simply grilled over an irori, lacking creativity in flavor. The Onsen uses circulated water that has been transported in, and falling leaves were an issue. Privacy from outside views was also a concern. While the design shows effort, it gives off a somewhat cheap impression overall. The layout is inconvenient, making the stay less comfortable. Considering the price, it doesn't feel worth it; I wouldn't visit again.

    a.k.k.!!

    A Relaxing Accommodation

Because the property originally has a location in Kyoto, we could feel touches of Kyoto throughout our stay in Hakone (in the free-flow service and the building design). Above all, we were impressed by the Onsen bath provided in our Room. With mountain views of Hakone all around, we were able to forget our usual busy routine and truly relax. We usually focus on sightseeing, but the Room was so comfortable that we ended up fully enjoying our time at the Hotel. This time we did not include meals, but next time we would love to try the atmospheric irori-style dining.

    It was amazing!!!

It was a wonderful Accommodation! Since it has just opened, the building was very clean and had a pleasant scent of wood. They designed areas like the entrance to resemble Kyoto’s alleyways and the guest rooms with a machiya-inspired feel, and I could tell they paid attention to every detail—such as placing lanterns to evoke an outdoor atmosphere. The bath was also spacious, making it feel like a special getaway. In addition, the staff were extremely welcoming; their smiles were lovely, and their explanations were easy to understand. I definitely want to stay again!

Experience a Traditional Townhouse Stay in Hakone

I stayed here as soon as it opened in Hakone, after hearing about it when I used the Facility in Kyoto a while ago! It was my first time back in Hakone in about 10 years, and this Ryokan beautifully blends the atmosphere of Hakone with the charm of Kyoto. While the Room design feels distinctly Kyoto-inspired, you can also enjoy the Onsen and Hakone’s nature from the open-air bath in your Room! I added breakfast at check-in, and having breakfast by the irori hearth was a wonderful experience with an amazing ambiance. Most of the staff were young, and everyone was very kind. I hope to visit again during the Ekiden season next time. Thank you again.
