I was disappointed.
I stayed at HOSHINOYA Okinawa. To sum up my overall impression, I was disappointed. Point 1 As other guests have mentioned, “housekeeping is basically not provided during consecutive stays.” More precisely, you are given three options during your stay, but none of them includes full cleaning. If you stay multiple nights, amenities and towels are replaced, but the floor is only spot-cleaned with a lint roller where it’s noticeable; the bathroom is not cleaned at all; and bed sheets are not changed. We stayed during a hot season and had a 0-year-old baby with us, so I felt this was unhygienic. When I spoke to the front desk, I was told that regular cleaning would cost an additional 9,600 yen. They said they could lend cleaning tools, so we would have to clean ourselves. Spending hundreds of thousands of yen for this level of quality is disappointing. They call it “sustainable,” but I couldn’t understand what kind of sustainability it is when they don’t vacuum or clean the bathroom. Point 2 There is a lounge open 24 hours, but it connects directly to the pool area and the floor is soaking wet. For a luxury hotel, I think it would be better to separate the entrances/exits for the lounge and pool. If you expect the drinks and light snacks to be on par with other luxury hotels around Nago in Okinawa, you may regret it. It might be best to check in advance and only book if you’re satisfied. Point 3 The property itself is large, but in terms of value for money—scenery and room interior included—it felt neither particularly good nor bad. You can check videos on YouTube as well. I do appreciate that this luxury hotel allows very young children to stay—there’s definitely demand for that—but I don’t think I would stay again. If you go a bit farther from Yomitan toward Nago, there are many luxury resorts there as well, so I felt it would be better to choose one of those (especially if you’re not traveling with children affected by age restrictions).

Wrapped in the sound of the waves and a sky full of stars. A blissful Okinawa escape that soothes body and mind.
Waking up when your body feels ready—pure bliss in the morning. Beyond the window, a deep blue sea and a white lighthouse in the distance. The lively chatter of people collecting shells on the beach and the sound of waves feel as if they could drift in from anywhere. Time here is endlessly quiet... Then comes the night pool, where adult time begins. A half moon casts a faint path of light across the sea. Floating on your back and gazing up at the sky—when the half moon slips behind the clouds, an overwhelming canopy of stars spreads out above. Every time I visit Hoshinoya, I’m reminded that each Facility has a completely different atmosphere—and that’s part of its greatest appeal. Here in Okinawa, there is nature and a perfectly crafted space designed to gently help cleanse both body and mind. And beyond that, hospitality that surpasses expectations awaited us.

"Star World"
I really enjoyed the Hoshino world. It has a strong, distinctive style (in a good way). Since Taketomi was a more traditional, mellow experience, that may be why it stood out even more this time. The deep-sea-like reception area, Rooms without an entryway, and a dining table with a sink were all surprising in terms of the facilities—and uniquely fun. There are many different activity programs as well. The performers in “Hamauri Ashibi” were bright, entertaining, and wonderful, and Ms. M’s “Garden Tour” guide was warm and enjoyable too. Going forward, the key will be how well you can communicate and share with guests that your interpretation of “Hoshinoya luxury,” including personal service, is not the conventional approach. When you’ve become the undisputed “top tier,” please let me stay again!

I strongly agree—this is the worst Hotel I’ve ever stayed at and not worth visiting.
We stayed for three nights. From check-in onward, we repeatedly experienced service that left us questioning their attitude—again and again. In the end, even my usually calm wife completely lost her patience. I honestly don’t understand why there was so little sense of hospitality. We will never stay with this Hotel group again.

The garden is beautiful, and the beach is clean and perfect for a stroll!
We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days! Since we used the limousine bus for airport transfers, we didn’t rent a car and only went out once to Zakimi Castle Ruins, spending most of our time enjoying the facility. There were many free activities, and even the paid activities requiring reservations offered unique Okinawan experiences, making it fun to choose from. We reserved dining twice, and they changed the menu each time—both meals were visually stunning and delicious. However, as portions were quite large, having a short course option would be even better. From the day we arrived, we strolled through the garden and beach daily, enjoying changes in the sea and sky over time as well as flowers in bloom, birdsong, insect sounds—all of which allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in nature. Spending time both in our room and within the facility was equally enjoyable. Additionally, interactions with other guests added warmth to our trip—exchanging greetings with fellow guests in the garden or chatting with travelers from Taiwan on our bus ride about past visits or future plans at Hoshinoya resorts made for memorable moments. It was also convenient that after booking here using a Reservation Number on their official website login system allowed us to arrange meals or activities online beforehand!

The room was spaciou...
The room was spacious enough for a trip with teenagers, and we had a great vacation. Although it would have been better if the beach was within walking distance, spending time gazing at the sea from the room or watching the sunset was wonderful. It was a bit disappointing that the cleaning quality varied depending on who did it.
