    A solo trip and I st...

    A solo trip and I still felt completely at ease. I’m so glad I stayed! I was able to relax and take my time. The cleaning was impeccable. I’ve stayed at many star-rated Hotels, but this one easily ranks in my top three. Everything was beautifully maintained—no dust, no stray hairs, no water stains. For dinner, I had sushi and sake under the pine tree. When you’re dining alone, staff sometimes worry too much about you and it ends up making you feel awkward—but not here. They chatted with me just enough and gave me space at just the right moments. We talked about delicious fish and great drinks, so I truly enjoyed the meal. (I was so focused on eating that I forgot to take photos!) The Room had stylish appliances, a tea set, water, juice, local craft beer, and tasteful crafts placed throughout. And the view from the large window: to the right, Kanazawa Castle’s main gate and bridge; to the left, trees leading toward Kenrokuen Garden; in front, an impressive courthouse; and very nearby, a police box by Kenrokuen-mae— so it felt extremely safe (not scary at all!). Breakfast was delicious too! Since I wanted coffee in the morning, they kindly arranged a Western-style breakfast for me. Everyone else seemed to be having Japanese breakfast so I felt a little bad—but it was wonderful. The whole-wheat toast was fluffy with a gentle sweetness—so good that I’m ordering some now. Thank you very much for taking such great care of me. Thank you for such a comfortable time and space. I hope I can stay again someday. P.S. The guest Room is 5 stars. The only small downside for me was that the amenity shampoo/conditioner didn’t quite suit my hair—sorry about that.

    All staff were very ...

    All staff were very helpful, and I had a comfortable stay. The Room did not have a window, but it didn’t feel cramped at all, and I was able to relax without being bothered by the lack of a window. The bathroom and toilet are separate; there is no bathtub, but if you’re fine with just a shower, this Room should be no problem. The amenities and complimentary drinks were also great, and I would like to stay here again when visiting Kanazawa.

    This is a very pleasant Hotel.

    I stayed here for a concert trip this time. Because of the concert end time and traffic, I didn’t arrive until 9:00 PM, and I ended up getting to dinner very late, but you welcomed me with a smile and I had a wonderful time. Breakfast was also delicious, and since I had some time before checkout, I was able to take a walk in Kenrokuen Garden across the street. The location is excellent, and above all, every staff member was smiling and seemed genuinely happy—I would definitely like to stay here again the next time I visit Kanazawa.     I enjoyed sightseeing in Kanazawa.

    The location, right in front of Kenrokuen Garden, was very convenient for sightseeing, and the renovated Room was wonderful. From arrival through mealtimes, all the staff greeted us with warm smiles, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious—we fully enjoyed Kanazawa. Thank you very much.

    Not only is the location excellent, but the in-room sauna is simply outstanding. We had sushi for dinner, and every piece was fresh—also outstanding. It’s an Accommodation we’ll definitely want to return to.

    The location is excellent. The Kenroku Public Parking Lot is right in front, and both Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle are just across the way. Above all, the staff were so refined, cheerful, and pleasant. The front desk staff were very welcoming—it was great that they weren’t overly formal or impersonal. At the 1F restaurant, they placed a glass on our table saying, “This apple juice is delicious.” It really was. It’s nice when something is served with a friendly “It’s delicious.” Also, the female staff member on B1 during breakfast was very kind and pleasant. I didn’t have much time to relax, so I’d definitely like to come again.

    The location and the view are excellent.

    Beautifully renovated, spotlessly clean, and both the Room and the bath were very comfortable. However, the refrigerator was not cold at all— it felt more like a slightly cool wine cellar. It didn’t seem possible to adjust the temperature, either, so even the complimentary beer and water were disappointingly lukewarm. The Room TV was a projector, but it would freeze when changing channels, or suddenly freeze on its own, and each time we had to turn it off and back on again… which was a bit stressful. Breakfast was an excellent Japanese meal that clearly took time and care. The taste and portion size were just right, with many different dishes, and everything was delicious. Even the after-meal coffee was truly great. All of the staff were wonderful.

    An Accommodation Where You Can Feel Warm Hospitality

    I stayed here when attending a concert at the Kanazawa Opera House. The location was convenient, and the view from my Room was wonderful (though it may depend on the Room). The staff provided excellent service, and I had a very comfortable stay. The food was carefully prepared and delicious throughout—I was very satisfied. After the concert, I ordered room service, which was also very tasty.

    Convenient for sightseeing at Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle, with delicious meals and friendly staff.

    The Accommodation is close to Kanazawa Station, but traffic can be heavy during peak sightseeing seasons. Our Hotel is located at the Kenrokuen-shita intersection, making it ideal for visiting Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle. In particular, it’s very convenient for seeing the evening illuminations after dinner, as it’s about a 3-minute walk. In my case, while exchanging emails with staff about dinner options, Ms. N kindly told me some great spots for cherry blossom viewing, which was extremely helpful. The other staff were also kind. Dinner was delicious—both the sushi and kaiseki. Although the Hotel is at an intersection, the double-glazed windows meant I hardly noticed any noise.

    A hidden gem Accommodation you’ll want to keep secret!

    We chose this Accommodation in Kanazawa for the first time in a while thanks to everyone’s Reviews. The location is excellent. If you walk up the slope right in front, you’ll reach Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle—perfect for a morning stroll. Higashi Chaya District was also just over a 10-minute walk away. The Room was spacious and relaxing. The Japanese breakfast was delicious and truly captured the feel of Kanazawa. Most of all, we were impressed by the warm smiles of the staff, full of hospitality. Thank you for accommodating our requests. This was an Accommodation we would love to return to again.

    Refined tranquility and exceptional cuisine—this has become my favorite accommodation.

    With Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle right in front of you, and the Higashi Chaya District within walking distance, this is an ideal location for sightseeing. Away from the bustle around the station and Korinbo, the area becomes wonderfully quiet at night, letting you fully savor the atmosphere of “old capital Kanazawa.” As soon as you step inside, you’re struck by the contrast between raw concrete textures and beautiful accents of blue throughout. The refined sensibility unique to a renovated building shines through, creating a museum-like space that helps you forget everyday life the moment you enter. Despite facing a main road, it’s surprisingly quiet, and with practical amenities provided, I was able to relax completely. What stands out most is the exceptional quality of the restaurant. In February—true to Hokuriku—the rich flavor of perfectly fatty fresh fish genuinely impressed me. Considering you can enjoy food at this level in such an unpretentious setting, it feels like outstanding value for money. It’s different from the style of so-called major luxury Hotels, but that’s exactly why you can feel the staff’s warm attentiveness and passion in every detail. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a special Accommodation that isn’t cookie-cutter.

    Even more wonderful than expected.

    It was my first time in Kanazawa. Since I traveled by car, I used a paid parking lot, but there were many tourist spots nearby within walking distance. The meals I had been looking forward to were truly delicious and so impressive that I ended up enjoying more drinks than planned. Dinner was fantastic, but breakfast was equally satisfying—I even went for seconds! Above all, the staff were kind and provided excellent service. I would love to stay here again.

    As part of the "Suju" group from Karuizawa, the Japanese cuisine here is naturally exceptional, but what truly stands out are its prime location and the outstanding staff. With a perfect spot overlooking Kenrokuen Garden, just imagining how Suju creatively incorporates Hokuriku ingredients heightens your anticipation. The sushi on the second floor is still available at this price for now, but with Kanazawa experiencing a surge in inbound tourism, we highly recommend enjoying their fresh seafood sooner rather than later.

    A hotel with a pleasant atmosphere

    The staff were kind and attentive, offering umbrellas and being considerate about allergies. It is a very small Hotel, but I think it is perfect for a quiet stay. This time, we explored Kanazawa after a long time, but next time we visit, we would like to stay in and relax. We are looking forward to seeing what the rooftop space will be like. Since we are not good with alcohol, we were happy to have juice available.

    It was my first time in Kanazawa, and I chose this Hotel because it is close to tourist spots. The staff at the front desk were polite, the Room was clean, and I was very satisfied with the sushi for dinner and breakfast.     As expected.

    I returned to AO in Kamakura because I enjoyed it so much last time. As before, the decor was tasteful, and the stay felt special. The breakfast was also delicious. They kindly provided complimentary sweets for our anniversary. However, in the loft Room, even with a circulator, the air conditioning didn’t reach well, making it slightly uncomfortable to sleep due to the heat.

    It was great to try out the projector as I was considering purchasing one. The location was convenient, and the staff were kind. However, it was disappointing that the Karuizawa coffee provided as an amenity was close to its expiration date.

    The room, meals, and staff's hospitality were all satisfying. My family was also delighted. With Kenrokuen Garden right in front, we enjoyed an early morning walk before breakfast. If I visit Kanazawa again, I would love to stay here.

    First AO KANAZAWA

    I have visited AO in Kamakura many times and loved it, and this was my first time in Kanazawa. The atmosphere inside was very similar, making it a calm and relaxing stay. I used the Hotel's restaurant for both breakfast and dinner, where they served local ingredients with detailed explanations from the staff, who were very attentive. The front desk staff were also friendly and approachable. One highlight that cannot be missed is the rooftop. In Kamakura, you can enjoy views of Mt. Fuji, the sea, and cityscapes; in Kanazawa, Kenrokuen Garden is right in front of you—such a great location! I will definitely stay here again when I visit Kanazawa. And next time, please open HOTEL AO OKINAWA!!

    Celebrated my birthday at a wonderful Hotel!

    Thank you very much for the other day! I traveled to Kanazawa for a birthday trip and chose this accommodation. I was completely satisfied with everything from the room design to the meals!     It is a Hotel that makes you want to visit again.

    I stayed at the Kenroku Twin. If I were to add anything, it would be that the provided shampoo made my hair feel rough, so something smoother would be better. The service was gentle and reassuring. Since it is a renovated hotel, it might not be for everyone, but I was very satisfied. I visited by car, so it would be even better if there were parking discounts. Thank you for a delightful time.

    Satisfactory friendly service

    From the moment I checked in, the service was very friendly.     It was excellent!

    I was impressed by the hospitality of this Hotel. The Room, bathroom, and TV viewed through the projector were all wonderful. The food at Matsu no Shita was very delicious. Above all, the attitude of the staff towards the guests was excellent. Thank you very much for your kindness. My daughter and I were able to relieve the fatigue of the year in just one night. We will definitely visit again.

    I often stayed at accommodations near Katamachi in Kanazawa, but this time I decided to stay at the newly opened AO. From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with a smile. Noticing that I was carrying a cake box, they kindly offered to bring plates and utensils if I wanted to enjoy it in my room. They also provided helpful advice on dinner options, showcasing their attentiveness. The room was a standard type but spacious enough with stylish interiors and amenities. The bathroom was large, allowing me to stretch out and relax comfortably. The double-gauze material of the separate-style loungewear was also very comfortable. For breakfast, I chose the Japanese set meal which included six small side dishes, a choice of main dish, and rice cooked in a copper pot—all delicious. One minor concern was that being located on a major road near Kenrokuen Garden meant that sounds from passing cars and pedestrian crossing signals could be heard in the room until late at night. It slightly disturbed my sleep initially. However, overall it was an excellent experience, and I would love to stay at this accommodation again!

    I would like to use it again.

    It was comfortable. I needed a Multiple Night Stay not for sightseeing, and initially thought of a business hotel focusing on cost performance. However, many places do not offer cleaning for Multiple Night Stays, and I thought it would be tough for a 3-night stay, so I decided to try this place for the first time. The availability of Japanese breakfast was also appealing. It was slightly above my budget, but after staying, I found it to be worth the price. They accommodate your preferred cleaning time, and the Room and bathroom are spacious, with a touch of nostalgia from the slightly old building. I was also interested in the tatami and loft Rooms, but since they didn't have windows or bathtubs, I chose the standard option. Having this information in advance was helpful. I was satisfied to see Kenrokuen (Kenrokuen) from a different angle for the first time, which I had often seen since childhood. I didn't know it was newly opened, and it made me look forward to seeing how it will improve in various ways in the future.
