It was excellent.
A stay that feels like living, not just lodging. Spending time in this beautiful, calming residence can only be described as superb. The butler’s hospitality was outstanding—nothing to fault. The selection of drinks was excellent, and we enjoyed evening drinks. The food was also delicious; the grilled sweetfish was exceptional. We will be back.

Probably the most satisfying accommodation
With limited information and no prior experience staying in a private villa-style Accommodation, I was honestly a bit anxious. Still, the Facility and dining sounded so appealing that I made a Reservation just for this stay. The space was far too large for two people (there are many Rooms), but we were able to relax in our favorite spots and Rooms, pour drinks whenever we liked, and spend our time with the comforting feeling of being at home (though far more luxurious). Dinner is arranged at the nearby restaurant “Kingyo,” and of course we were provided with Shuttle Service in a Century. Enjoying that special touch, we were able to savor each dish—everything was delicious. The open-air bath was spacious (even though it rained that night), and there is also a sauna Room, so we naturally ended up soaking for a long time. We were so satisfied that checkout came before we knew it. The butler who assisted us was gentle and courteous, kept the conversation lively with various topics, and this truly became the most satisfying Accommodation I have ever stayed at. If I had to mention anything, since it’s all-inclusive there is a great selection of drinks as noted above, but it would have been perfect if beer were available from a tap (it was provided as bottled Heartland). Also, because the meals were quite filling, I wasn’t able to request snacks—even though I heard the butler could prepare them—which was a bit disappointing; having something like a reference menu might have helped. In any case, I’m genuinely happy to have found such an excellent Accommodation, and it’s one I strongly want to return to.

This was the best accommodation I’ve ever stayed at.
This Ryokan is a renovated mansion, and everything—from the garden and furnishings to the bath—felt extraordinary. I was able to relax in true Japanese comfort. In the main hall, I could enjoy drinks, snacks, and late-night bites without worrying about others around me—I honestly wanted to keep drinking forever. For dinner, they take you to a nearby traditional restaurant in a retro Century car. The restaurant also has private rooms, so you won’t run into other guests and can stay comfortable in the in-house loungewear. From check-in through dinner and all the way to check-out, there was an impressive variety of alcohol to enjoy—an ideal Accommodation for anyone who loves a drink! Breakfast served in the Room was also wonderful; watching it being prepared right in front of me made it such an enjoyable experience. I almost don’t want this place to become so popular that Reservations are hard to get… but before that happens, I’m definitely coming back again.

It exceeded my expectations.
It was even more wonderful than I imagined. The hospitality, cuisine, attentiveness, and Facility surpassed those of a branded Hotel. Since it is a private rental and the price includes drinks, it feels like an excellent value. I highly recommend this experience to anyone tired of standard Hotel services. Next time, I’d like to visit with my children as well.

The grilled sweetfish prepared kabayaki-style was exceptional.
Thank you very much for your thoughtful postcard. In early March, my husband and I had the pleasure of renting this grand residence exclusively and relaxing at our own pace. We are truly grateful to the young butler for his very flexible support. When we asked if there was anywhere we could see ceramics, he kindly guided us to Oribe Street in Tajimi, where we were able to purchase some favorite pieces. After that, we stopped by a roadside station, arrived at the Accommodation, took a short rest, and then headed to a traditional restaurant. The building there was said to be over 100 years old as well, and it had a wonderful atmosphere. The chef’s specialty—grilled amago (sweetfish) kabayaki—was absolutely delicious; we enjoyed it fragrant and crispy from head to tail. It was a cold day with a chilly wind, so moving around inside the property and going outside to the bath took a bit of courage. Warming up in the sauna before soaking in the open-air bath was perfect. Also, I was impressed by how fluffy the towels were. The hot-water bottle provided at night was greatly appreciated too. We were soothed by the charm unique to an old traditional house and by the beauty of the garden scenery. In such an expansive building, heaters and lights had even been turned on in Rooms we didn’t use—it felt almost too generous. The next morning’s breakfast served across the counter was especially memorable: this multi-talented butler even cooked for us, and we also had time to speak leisurely with the owner-chef who came by as well. It’s wonderful being able to see the chef in person. Finally, thank you so much for driving us for an hour all the way to our next destination. It made us want to learn from such personal service. We gained so much from this stay. Thank you again for taking such great care of us throughout our visit.

"Truly timeless things remain forever new."
Lying on the tatami, gazing at the beautifully lit garden through the shimmering glass window, this thought came to mind: This is an absolutely must-stay accommodation! The staff's hospitality, location, and cuisine were all impeccable. We enjoyed a quiet and beautiful supreme time with our family. Thank you very much. We look forward to visiting again.

An Accommodation That Satisfies Everything
I checked the "A Day at Our Accommodation" page on the website, called the accommodation, and planned my stay. I was surprised to find that the butler, whom I assumed would be an older gentleman, was actually a young and handsome man. After visiting the large waterwheel and ringing the Bell of Happiness at "Grandma's Market Yamaoka" roadside station, I arrived at the accommodation. Although I had already seen photos on their website, the actual house exceeded my expectations. The luxurious and spacious tatami room, guest rooms, bedrooms—and especially—the bath and sauna were exceptional. Unfortunately, it was drizzling lightly so I couldn't see the stars in what should have been a clear night sky; however, I fully enjoyed relaxing in the sauna instead. Even though I'm not usually much of a drinker, I indulged in some delicious alcohol and had an incredibly fulfilling day. For dinner, we went to a Japanese restaurant where both our round-trip car ride and exquisite Japanese cuisine were delightful experiences. At night by the kotatsu (heated table), we enjoyed late-night snacks of Inari sushi paired with more delicious drinks. Despite it being a cold season during our visit, thanks to hot water bottles provided by staff members for extra warmth—I slept soundly through till morning! Starting off fresh again next day: took one last dip into their amazing baths before savoring breakfast which tasted so good that despite normally watching portions carefully—I couldn’t resist going back seconds! On way home stopped once again roadside station picking up souvenirs bringing memories along journey back—truly rare gem combining perfect balance between staying comforted eating well receiving heartfelt hospitality altogether making unforgettable experience worth revisiting another time different seasonal setting!
