It was a wonderful, spotlessly clean Hotel.

This wonderful, impeccably clean Hotel had a sauna that truly lived up to its reputation. I’d love to stay again.

    It was incredibly relaxing!

This Hotel was a dream for sauna lovers! If checkout had been at 11:00, I think I could have enjoyed a more relaxing morning sauna. Dinner was also very delicious. The only thing was that I would have liked to be asked if I wanted more bread when the main meat dish was served... Breakfast had a gentle flavor and was delicious as well. When I tried to use the welcome drink coffee machine, it ran out of water and showed an error halfway through. The staff responded right away, but ideally, I would have appreciated it if the errored cup had been removed and the coffee poured into a new cup before being handed to me.

    Mother-Daughter Trip

My first time at Takeo Onsen. I visited during the Obon holiday season and expected it to be very hot, but this Hotel on the mountaintop was not too hot, and I had a comfortable stay. The bath was semi-open-air, and I could relax while enjoying the greenery. The meal I had been looking forward to was also excellent—tableware, presentation, and taste were all well balanced. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

A great Hotel for sauna lovers.

It was a highly satisfying Accommodation with clean guest rooms and a well-equipped sauna. I can’t comment on dinner as we ate out, but I think there is room for improvement in the breakfast. Next time, I will stay with No Meals Included.

    A must for sauna lovers.

The sauna, cold plunge, and outdoor relaxation area were absolutely amazing. You can also enjoy a lush green view from the Room, which made it incredibly relaxing. I will definitely stay here again.

    Wonderful

The sauna-equipped room we came for was refined in both design and functionality, and it was amazing to enjoy the sauna, cold plunge, and outdoor air bath right in the room. The restaurant exceeded our expectations. With its stylish design and calm, high-quality atmosphere, we enjoyed an excellent meal. The tableware and presentation were thoughtfully done as well, making it a feast for all five senses. The Hotel’s interior and overall ambiance are wonderful, so it seems popular with female guests too. We will definitely book the sauna-equipped room again.

An Accommodation you’ll want to return to again and again, featuring a premium sauna and exceptional cuisine

Each of the four saunas has its own character, and every one of them was a highly satisfying experience. The bath and changing rooms were kept impeccably clean throughout, making everything truly comfortable. With a limited number of guest rooms, the property and restaurant have a calm atmosphere where you can relax at ease. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented—I was genuinely impressed. This was my second stay, and next year I’d love to return for two nights or more. Highly recommended for sauna lovers.

    Highly satisfied!

It was a last-minute Reservation the day before. They accept Reservations right up until the last possible moment—thank you so much. The Room, baths, meals, and the staff’s hospitality were all outstanding. There was a large TV in the Room, which made us very happy since we love watching TV. The baths were clean, and there were two saunas each for men and women, plus two cold plunge baths at different temperatures. My husband really enjoyed it! (I skipped the sauna.) Dinner was a Western-style course meal, which felt refreshing for us since we usually have kaiseki. Everything was delicious. They grilled the meat right in front of us, so it was enjoyable to watch as well. The portions were just right—we were completely satisfied! Breakfast wasn’t a buffet; it was served as a set meal, so we could eat in a relaxed way. The tableware and glasses were beautiful too. I liked the glasses so much that we stopped by Soejima Glass on our way home to buy some. It was an extremely satisfying trip.

A Hotel in Harmony with Nature

I stayed in June in a Standard Twin Room with dinner and breakfast included. First, the view from the Room—lush green trees welcomed me, and I truly felt how close to nature it was. Next came the Onsen and sauna. Not flashy, but irresistible for sauna lovers: a calm sauna, a cold bath, and outdoor air bathing that lets you harmonize with nature. With each set, I felt myself reset on another level. Dinner was a Saga beef course; even the dishes beyond Saga beef used carefully selected ingredients, making it feel like dining at a top-class restaurant. The next morning I enjoyed the Onsen and sauna again, and I thought this Hotel is definitely in my top three among all the Hotels I’ve stayed at. Next time, I’m looking forward to visiting in late autumn—enjoying outdoor air bathing while taking in the fall colors in the crisp air.

    Dinner and Sauna

The Room was pleasantly spacious, quiet, and felt like being surrounded by forest air. The bed was also very comfortable. Both sauna entrances were wet, and I almost slipped and fell. This is very dangerous, so please ensure safety measures are in place. The semi-open-air bath was spacious and relaxing. The washing area is quite dark, which can be difficult for guests with presbyopia. Dinner looked wonderful and was served on beautiful tableware. Was the waiter in training? The service felt awkward, and there was no explanation to that effect. It was very disappointing that the after-dinner drink menu only offered coffee. Please include decaffeinated options, tea, herbal tea, etc. Breakfast was delicious. I do not eat raw eggs, so if there were an option instead of the Onsen egg, it would help avoid food waste.

    An overpriced Business Hotel

Due to a slight change in my schedule, I moved my stay by one day and was charged a Cancellation Fee. I was told it applies from 30 days prior. I have stayed at many Hotels, but very few Accommodations set a cancellation fee that far in advance. The Room felt smaller than it appeared in the photos for a Business Hotel. On the morning of the third day, there was noise starting around 5:00 a.m., possibly due to some Facility issue. It stopped after about an hour, but after paying the Cancellation Fee and then experiencing this early-morning disturbance, I honestly could not leave with a good impression as a guest. The housekeeping staff member was elderly and the front desk staff member was a young woman; both were polite and helpful, which I truly appreciated.

    It was very disappointing.

At check-in, our luggage was brought into another guest’s Room, and the coffee served at the end of the dinner course was lukewarm—even after reheating, it was still lukewarm. The next morning at breakfast, the grilled fish was undercooked. The Hotel service level is far too low. I will never stay here again.

    Your First Time in Saga

This time, we visited Takeo Onsen from Tokyo to see the Romon Gate in Takeo and the great camphor tree at Takeo Shrine. As it is still a fairly new Accommodation, everything felt clean and well maintained. I had expected dinner to be on the lighter side, but it was more than enough, and we had a wonderful time enjoying drinks and chatting with the very friendly staff. My birthday was a few days later, and although I hadn’t mentioned it, perhaps because I wrote my birthday on the guest card, dessert came with a birthday plate. I really appreciated the thoughtful gesture. I didn’t use the sauna, but since the large public bath is open-air, it might be tough depending on the season; still, it felt great. If I had one comment, it would be that the lighting in the washing area was quite dim and could feel unsafe. It was my first time in Saga, and it turned into a great trip.

    We ended up arriving...

We ended up arriving right at the last minute for check-in, but the staff kindly called us in advance and said, “It’s fine to stop and shop for anything you need, such as food. Please take your time and travel safely.” Their warm consideration impressed us even before we arrived. The sauna selection was extensive, so we never got bored. Right in front of the bath was a small garden, and the scent of trees and earth was very soothing. After the bath, there was a corner where you could enjoy manga, along with plenty of seating space. The Room also had excellent amenities and equipment. We felt it would be a relaxing and enjoyable place to stay even for those who aren’t sauna enthusiasts. We would love to stay again.

Cherry blossom season is the best!

This is a new and clean Hotel. The sauna is average. The meals are well thought out and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, but the portions are a bit small. However, a cherry tree in full bloom stretched right up to the balcony of our Room, which was wonderful. We could enjoy cherry blossoms while lying in bed. We will stay again.

    The sauna is fantastic.

Visited for a sauna trip. The saunas switch between men and women in the morning and evening, so I was able to enjoy both. However, the women’s auto-löyly sauna felt too hot—perhaps because it was less crowded—and I couldn’t quite fully relax into it, which was disappointing. The relaxation area was great, with a variety of chairs. In the men’s sauna the next morning, I was able to unwind properly. The hot spring water was silky and wonderful as well. At dinner, you can see the charcoal-grilling area beyond the counter, but you can’t actually watch them grilling, which was a shame. The wine pairing was reasonably priced and convenient since you don’t have to choose for each dish, but the selection itself wasn’t great. Even when I asked questions about the wines, I received very little explanation. In the lobby lounge there is a Unimat coffee machine available anytime. In the Room there were green tea bags, but no black tea, which was disappointing. On IKYU’s site there strangely wasn’t a Plan that included both dinner and breakfast, but it was easy to add them at check-in. You can request meal times at check-in as well. I’ve listed quite a few criticisms, but the Facility is clean, the saunas are excellent for this price point, and it’s a Hotel I’d like to stay at again.

    The sauna is wonderful.

The sauna Facility and the indoor lounge areas were spacious and never felt crowded, which was excellent. Considering the price, the Room was also large, clean, functional, and very relaxing. Unfortunately, the meals were disappointing. Breakfast had few options and didn’t taste good. Dinner included one or two tasty dishes, but everything came out too quickly and nothing really stood out. The alcohol selection was very limited and overpriced. It didn’t feel worth the cost of staying here: despite being Western cuisine, the wine list was mostly American wines at high prices, and even though it wasn’t a bar setting there was no whisky that paired well with the food—very disappointing.

The food was very delicious, and the pacing of the service was just right, so I was very satisfied. Each piece of tableware was lovely as well, but one disappointing thing was that the dessert ice cream bowl had a chip on the rim. It could be dangerous, so please take care when serving.

    It was raining that ...

It was raining that day, and it was disappointing to get wet walking from the parking lot to the Hotel. A staff member was standing in front of the Hotel holding an umbrella, but...? The explanation about the meal was hard to hear because the voice was too quiet. After looking at the website, I thought the chef would cook right in front of us, but it seems I misunderstood, which was disappointing. The large public bath and sauna were excellent.

    I wasn’t really a sauna person, but

Since I’ve never been good with saunas, we stayed this time as a gift for my sauna-loving husband. But… it was my first time truly understanding how great a sauna can be—I was able to enjoy it and felt amazing. I can’t stay in for long and I don’t really know all the etiquette, but it was simply wonderful! The breakfast was also just the right amount—delicious, healthy, and very satisfying. I’m jealous of the people of Saga to have such a wonderful place! We’ll make another opportunity to visit, so thank you in advance!

    The sauna is amazing!

There are two large public baths (with men’s and women’s hours alternating), and each has two saunas. The dry sauna is excellent. I only wished the mist sauna were a bit hotter. Both saunas have a great atmosphere, and the Onsen is very relaxing. I would also appreciate having tissues available at the washbasins in the changing room.

    My spouse and I stay...

My spouse and I stayed at this Hotel while visiting Arita and Hasami to buy tableware for our shop. The Hotel staff were kind and warmly welcomed us. I remember how truly relaxing it was—there was no noise, and we could even hear the birds. Our Room had a balcony, and after a bath or when we woke up in the morning, the fresh outdoor air felt wonderful. Taking a deep breath outside was so soothing. The food was also incredibly delicious! Personally, I was most impressed by the appetizer of mackerel with a rice cracker. There was absolutely no fishy smell, and the rice cracker had a great crunch—the grains kept their shape and looked beautifully glossy. Every dish was enjoyable, including the tableware, and everything was plated so beautifully. You could really feel the care put into each item and the chef’s passion for cooking. The bath area was clean as well. It felt open and nice, but it was a little cold. I think it would be perfect for staying in summer. We’re usually busy every day, but staying at this Hotel truly healed both our bodies and minds. We’ve already said we’d like to come back again when we’re tired. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

    Simple yet luxurious

The sauna was as great as I had heard, with four different types, each offering unique features and a relaxing atmosphere. (Morning bath areas switch between men’s and women’s.) The ambiance was perfect for ultimate relaxation. However, since everything is outdoors, it gets quite cold in winter—I wish there were something to warm up the relaxation space. The staff were courteous, and the Facility was clean. I’d love to visit again next year!

    The sauna is absolutely amazing.

I was very satisfied with this dream-like hotel where I could enjoy a wood-fired sauna all day, the meals were delicious, and everything was clean and comfortable. The cost-performance ratio was excellent, striking a perfect balance without overloading on unnecessary services or amenities while providing everything essential. It felt like an accommodation I would love to visit regularly for refreshment.

    The parking lot is a...

The parking lot is about 20-30 meters away. Once noticed, the staff promptly helped carry our luggage. The hotel has been renovated and is very clean. When I requested a high floor, I received an email saying, "Since it’s a two-story building, we will prepare a room on the second floor." However, the assigned room had a chimney right in front of it, causing heavy smoke that made it difficult to use the balcony. The balconies are protruding and visible to each other, creating an amusing "hello" situation with neighbors. Perhaps because it was a weekday, the large public bath was not crowded and could be used leisurely. There are two saunas in both the men's and women's baths. Since they switch between men’s and women’s areas daily, you can enjoy four types of saunas in total. Dinner was a full course meal with pairing suggestions for drinks on the menu—sparkling wine, two types of white wine, sake, and red wine were paired perfectly with each dish. For those who wanted pairings with dessert as well, six types of alcohol were also available. The explanations and service timing were impeccable; even the tableware used was beautiful—a truly delicious dinner experience. As for breakfast: when making my reservation I saw photos showing an onigiri set meal; however what we received was plain white rice served in bowls instead—which I actually preferred! There were various tasty accompaniments for rice made from high-quality ingredients that enhanced its flavor beautifully—and though primarily Japanese-style cuisine overall—coffee post-meal rounded everything off nicely too! Drinks inside our Room's refrigerator came complimentary too adding further thoughtful touches throughout this wonderful stay! Would love returning someday soon again here-thank-you so much!!

    A unique and excellent accommodation.

The 104 sqm room with a sauna and terrace bath, as well as the private saunas (2) and the large public bath's Tonbai Sauna, were particularly excellent. Although we couldn't visit this time, the nearby OND SAUNA is also reputed to be great. There were minor misunderstandings, but they were promptly resolved, leaving my family satisfied in the end. I would recommend your accommodation to sauna-loving friends and acquaintances.
