    Comfortable!

    We stayed for one night with our dog. The dog’s name tag was adorable. We were very satisfied with the meals, the Room, the bath, and the complimentary drink service—it was so comfortable that it made us want to stay another night. Since it was raining, we didn’t go to Matsumotoro’s baths, but we’re already talking about going next time.

    Thank you for your support.

    We stayed with three family members and one dog. Thank you very much for the delicious meals and the kind, attentive staff. It was raining heavily at dinner time, and when we were having trouble, you kindly drove us to and from the dining venue, Pinon, which was a great help. Thank you. However, we were disappointed that Wi-Fi did not connect in the Room we stayed in; we would appreciate it if this could be improved. Also, if possible, it would be even better if dogs could do Child Sharing Existing Bedding with their owners. We would definitely like to stay again.

    A Hotel where you can only stay if you bring your dog!?

    There is parking available, and both the Facility and the Room were very clean. Some highlights: - The staff’s hospitality was excellent - The complimentary alcohol service (two drinks per person) was great and delicious - Free coffee and soft drinks - You can dine with your pet, or dine separately (guests can enjoy French cuisine in a separate building) - The Room comes with a private open-air Onsen bath, which was great - The large public bath in the main building was also wonderful, including the view (photos available) - The dog run is spacious, and there is a large sofa where guests can sit as well - Our dog seemed to love the pet meal and ate it enthusiastically (photos available) If I had to mention one thing: the French filet was very tender, but I think it would have been better seasoned with just salt (a matter of personal preference) (photos available)

    I’d love to stay here again.

    I’ve stayed at many Accommodations with my pet, but there are actually not that many where I truly felt, “I want to stay here again.” This is one of those rare places. What impressed me most was the warm and attentive service from all the staff. Throughout our stay, we felt genuinely welcomed and well cared for. Since we visited on a hot day, the complimentary drinks were especially appreciated. The Onsen at Matsumotoro was also very relaxing, and we were extremely satisfied with the breakfast buffet. This time we traveled with my elderly parents as well, and thanks to the thoughtful attention to detail, our whole family was able to spend a comfortable time. It became a wonderful travel memory with our dog. We would love to visit again.

    We’d love to stay again.

    I was truly impressed by the view from the bath in the Room. The layered mountain ridges were beautiful. Here are the points I especially liked: - The Room was thoroughly cleaned and felt fresh and comfortable. - All staff were very pleasant, and I was satisfied with the service. - Free drinks (including alcohol) were available in the lobby and other areas, which I appreciated. - Breakfast was excellent in both quality and quantity. - The Onsen bath in the Room was, needless to say, wonderful. There was also a small tub for dogs. - I could also use the Onsen at nearby Matsumotoro, which made me very happy. - Conveniently located just 500 m from Ikaho Stone Steps. - A convenience store and souvenir shop are right nearby. I would love to visit again.

    A long-awaited Onsen trip with our dog and grandma

    It was our first Onsen trip in a while, bringing my grandmother and our dog. It had been a long time since we visited Ikaho as well, but thanks to the warm hospitality of everyone at the Hotel and the open-air bath in our Room—with its gentle, pleasant spring quality—my wife and grandmother were absolutely delighted. The meals were delicious, with satisfying variety and generous portions, and we truly enjoyed them. Our dog also seemed very comfortable in the Onsen. I also visited the Onsen at Matsumotoro and was able to relax and unwind at a leisurely pace. We are considering coming back again this autumn.

    About the view

    Although the open-air bath is a nice feature, because the property is located right by the road, it doesn’t feel like a relaxing place to enjoy it. The meals were fairly average. I didn’t feel it offered good value for money. To truly enjoy an Onsen, I think it should be in a quieter location with better scenery.

    Satisfying for both people and dogs

    I often end up feeling uncomfortably full, so I stayed without dinner. Even though it’s an Onsen town, there’s a convenience store within walking distance even late at night, which was very convenient (important since I don’t have a car). The Room was clean, and we enjoyed the complimentary drinks. Both the in-room Onsen and Matsumotoro’s Onsen were very relaxing. Our dog also had a great time running around in the basement area. We were very satisfied with the breakfast at Matsumotoro as well. Next time, I’m even thinking of trying dinner at Yumemitei.

    Both the bath and th...

    Both the bath and the meals were excellent. The open-air bath in the Room was clean and spacious, and the food was delicious with a great variety of dog-friendly menu options. Above all, the staff were wonderful. If I may make a request, we would appreciate being able to do Child Sharing Existing Bedding with our dog, as it would allow us to relax more comfortably. Also, we have two dogs, but there was only one small crate in the Room, so it would be helpful if you could provide one for each dog.

    The Room was spaciou...

    The Room was spacious and very clean, and the open-air bath was amazing! All the staff were incredibly kind, and we had a very comfortable stay. We stayed for a family celebration, and we also received a wonderful gift from the Hotel—very satisfied. It was a lovely Hotel that is truly dog-friendly and considerate of dogs. We would definitely like to stay again.

    Points of concern * I would like housekeeping for other Rooms to be done after 11:00 a.m. (after checkout). If staff are outside the entrance, our dog becomes alert and starts barking, so we can’t relax. * I would like dinner to be more luxurious.

    Although it is a small Accommodation, it has been thoughtfully designed in many ways.

    This was our first stay. The Hotel itself is very small, but the check-in and breakfast area is set up with partition-style sections so dogs can’t get out. Our Room was a suite and had plenty of space, and the open-air bath attached to the Room was very large—big enough for three people. There was also an adorable claw-foot bathtub for dogs next to it, and our dogs looked like they really enjoyed it. If I had to ask for one thing, I’d be even happier if the bath were free-flowing, but the water warmed us up well and the open-air bath felt wonderful. You can also use Matsumotoro’s large public bath. On the 1st floor there is a refrigerator stocked with drinks, and you can bring beer, cider, juice, etc. to your Room free of charge. There were welcome drinks and snacks, including some for dogs. The meals were delicious as well. At Matsumotoro (the main building), they seem to bake bread; in the morning, in addition to a Japanese set served at your table (a Japanese-Western style breakfast), there were also smoothies and other drinks plus bread on the counter—so it works well for guests who prefer bread. In the morning they also prepared “goat milk” and “bread” for our dogs. It’s an Accommodation we’d love to visit again.

    I was extremely sati...

    I was extremely satisfied. The Facility was clean and thoughtfully maintained, and the staff were very courteous. The open-air bath in the Room was an Onsen with a comfortable size, and there was also a tub for my dog, which made me very happy. The meals were delicious and could not have been better. It relieved my daily stress. I would like to stay again.

    Just as rumored

    I’d like to rate this stay as expected. Thanks to the staff’s warm hospitality, we had a very pleasant time. Because our dog is elderly, we were worried about meals, but they kindly accommodated our request and our dog ate with great appetite. We were also interested in the basement dog run, but since our dog was unsteady on their feet, we decided not to use it—such a shame. If we have the chance, we would definitely like to stay again.

    A Trip to Ikaho Onsen

    The location was perfect for exploring the Ikaho Onsen town, and we were very satisfied with both the Onsen and the meals. Because the entrance to our Room was so close, our dog sensed people nearby and barked. We apologize to other guests who were staying there. We enjoyed the dog run in a private-like setting and had a great time. We would like to stay again. Thank you to all the staff.

    The Room was spacious, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches that made it easy to relax with our dog. The dog bathtub was adorable, and even our dog—who doesn’t like baths—was easy to wash!

    Even though it’s a dog-friendly accommodation,

    There aren’t many places in Gunma where you can stay with dogs, so we went with high expectations because it’s a dog-friendly Accommodation. Since the Accommodation Fee for dogs is 4,000 yen per dog, I assumed the pet amenities would be well provided. However, although it said diapers would be available—which reassured us—the most disappointing thing was that there were no separate diapers for male and female dogs. We stayed with two dogs, but one of the toilet tray frames was unusable. When we asked if another one could be prepared, we were told they didn’t have any available. Despite charging properly, I felt the amenities for dogs were not sufficient. The bath and the food were very good. But if dinner is served at a table in the living room anyway, I would have preferred having dinner in one of the semi-private rooms in the lounge instead.

    It was wonderful.

    We stayed for two nights. With three Rooms on the second floor and three on the third—only six parties in total—it was very calm and relaxing. On the first floor there is the front desk, lobby, and six private booths, where we checked in and had breakfast. Some Reviews mentioned that the meal portions were small, but for us there was more than we could finish—we even felt bad leaving food, and we couldn’t empty the rice pot. On the first night, the main dishes were roast beef and a pork dish. I mentioned that I’m not good with meat, and they kindly accommodated me on the second day. Thank you very much. We also ate breakfast with our dog in one of those booths. It’s Japanese-style, but there was tonjiru (pork miso soup), a hearty mushroom soup (maybe?), grilled fish, bread as well—and the smoothie was delicious too. Both breakfast and dinner menus were changed each day over our two-day stay, and we were extremely satisfied. Everything was wonderful. The bath was great too—the open-air bath felt amazing, so I used it many times. Having it in the Room is really nice. There were plenty of towels, and you can also use the large public bath at Matsumotoro in the main building. It was our dog’s first Onsen experience—well… more like enjoying a footbath? The dryer provided seemed to be professional-grade; when I sent a photo to our groomer, they said it’s what pros use. It made drying very easy. As for dog meals, our pup devoured everything! You choose three items from ten options; ours seemed to love something like stewed apple with meat? It must have been tasty—ate it all at once! Now I’m worried he might stop eating his usual kibble at home…. That said, on the first day he seemed nervous about being somewhere new—he kept pacing around inside the Room and was restless even at night. He didn’t drink water either; I regret not bringing his usual blanket from home. About a 10-minute walk away is Ikaho’s famous spot: the 365-step stone staircase. Our dog went up steadily step by step faster than I did! I managed to reach the top too, but it was quite tough. We also drove to Lockheart Castle. There’s a dog run there, and dogs are allowed to walk around inside both the castle building and shops. Suite Pero: All of your staff were pleasant people with wonderful smiles. Our dog had an accident in the Room, but you handled it kindly without hesitation. We would definitely love to visit again next time as well—thank you very much.”

    The in-room Onsen is amazing.

    On a friend’s recommendation, I was able to stay with my beloved dog as a gift for my father’s 99th birthday celebration. In-room dining was also much appreciated. However, the stairs at the entrance were difficult for elderly guests. Also, the area around the entrance felt cramped and somewhat cheap at first glance. I believe the entrance area is important. It was disappointing because the Room itself was wonderful. We had a Multiple Night Stay, but some of the meals were somewhat repetitive. It seemed that the meals were brought over from the main building; in particular, the rice was cold and a bit firm. In the morning, it seemed that delicious bread was meant to be a highlight, but most of the side dishes were Japanese-style and did not go well with bread. It may be better to improve this. Since there is no elevator to the parking lot, it was inconvenient when going out or when carrying luggage ourselves. Overall, everything gets full marks. The Onsen was excellent, and the photo service for my father’s 99th birthday celebration will be a treasure for life. The staff’s smiles and service were also very good. We also appreciated that drinks were all-you-can-drink. The hospitality from Pero-san and all staff in the main building was great as well. I would like to recommend this Hotel to friends too. If possible, I would appreciate improvements on these points. I am also grateful that we could use the main building’s Onsen as well. However, inside one of the open-air baths on the second floor of the main building, some stone edges hurt when you step on them, so it would be better if they could be smoothed down gently. Also, there is a step at/near an entrance/exit point in that area; I felt handrails are necessary there as well.

    An excellent accommodation with no complaints.

    We stayed over the New Year holiday. This was our second stay, and it was just as perfect as last time. The staff were kind, the meals were delicious, and the baths—especially the open-air bath—were wonderful. There were no negatives at all. That’s how much we love this Accommodation. We will definitely come again! We look forward to seeing you then. Thank you very much for everything. The New Year’s special osechi dishes were also incredibly delicious!

    Hotel atmosphere

    The Room was big, and the TV was huge—I'd never seen one that size before. The dog run is also in a semi-basement area, which was nice.\n\nThe amount of food was a good portion for older guests, though the food itself may have had some issues.\n\nOverall, as a repeat guest, I’d like to choose the next larger Room with an open-air bath and a better view.

    My expectations were too high.

    A four-person Room with beds lined up, with small gaps between them. The pillows were soft cushions, so it was hard to fall asleep. The bedding was inconsistent, and there were some heavy futons. The Room felt quite small—probably because there are four beds—and the luggage shelves are very high, so there’s essentially nowhere convenient to put your belongings. The table is small and the chairs are not great either, so in-room dining for four people would be difficult. The meals were very average. If there had been a few standout “wow, this is delicious!” items, I could have said it was good. The rice was also extremely hard. The dog run is under the building. Because it’s a narrow space and the Rooms face each other, guests who didn’t like that seemed to receive unpleasant responses from staff. I love Ikaho, and since pet-friendly Accommodations are still relatively rare in Gunma, I hope this becomes an Accommodation I’ll want to stay at again. The Onsen was pleasant and kept me warm for a long time; it would have been even better if I could have enjoyed Ikaho’s two different spring qualities as well. For what you get—especially if you go without high expectations—the price feels a bit high. If the price were lower for this level of experience, I would have rated it highly.

    Everything was very ...

    Everything was very comfortable, and both the Room and the dog run were spotlessly clean. We missed the main entrance at first and got a little lost, but if you follow your navigation system, there’s nothing to worry about. It has become one of our family’s favorite Accommodations.

    Birthday Trip

    We stayed with our two dogs as a birthday treat for them. Meals were served all at once in the Room, so we could relax and take our time. The food was delicious. It was also nice that welcome drinks were available to pick up freely, so we could enjoy one after the Onsen. Our dogs also got to enjoy the Onsen. During breakfast, the other dogs were well behaved, and at night it was so quiet it felt like there were hardly any other guests. We have stayed at various Accommodations with our dogs, but the meals, Room, and Onsen here were all excellent. We would love to stay again on a special occasion.
