Conveniently located near the station.
Conveniently located within walking distance of Kyoto Station, with a convenience store nearby. It was also nice that the bathroom and toilet were separate. When we ran out of toilet paper, we called housekeeping but couldn’t get through, and when we went to the front desk in person, we were surprised to be handed the roll without even a paper bag. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of Kyoto-style options.

From check-in onward, the worst.
The front desk staff provided only a cursory explanation. There was no body towel among the Room amenities, and the air purifier’s water tank had not been filled. At the breakfast restaurant, we had to wait to be seated; it was cramped, and there wasn’t even a butter knife available. We were also kept waiting at checkout and when picking up our luggage. Lesson: Please allow plenty of time in your schedule.

The lounge is excellent.
Stayed during a cold wave. With snow falling outside, we enjoyed a relaxing staycation in the lounge. Right after check-in, we headed to the lounge and spent time chatting over coffee and cookies. During cocktail time from 5 PM, we enjoyed various drinks and were very satisfied. The snacks were substantial enough that many might find them sufficient as dinner. In the morning, we used the breakfast buffet on the first floor as part of our breakfast-included plan. The selection of Japanese dishes was excellent, including freshly made omelets prepared right in front of us—very filling! Afterward, we visited the lounge again to find another breakfast buffet there! Despite being full, we couldn’t resist trying some unique menu items exclusive to this area. We fully utilized our time at the Hotel and had an incredibly satisfying staycation experience. If there’s one thing I’d suggest for improvement, it would be adding cakes or similar treats during tea time—it would make things perfect! Even now though, it’s already a great place to relax. The Room was comfortable as well; I’d love to stay here again!

I stayed here on this trip because I wanted to hear the New Year’s Eve temple bells in Kyoto. The meals were delicious, the Room was clean, and the service from the front desk staff was perfect—10/10! Thank you very much.

The breakfast and Executive Lounge were excellent.
A Hilton-affiliated Hotel in front of Kyoto Station. It opened in 2025, but as a rebrand from Daiwa Roynet, you can still see traces of its former identity here and there. Gold accents are used throughout, giving it an overall glamorous feel. The top floor is the Executive Lounge. It’s spacious, and we were able to find seats easily. The view is excellent, and you can even see Kiyomizu-dera during the day. The cocktail hour offers a wide selection of food, making this lounge great value. Breakfast is served buffet-style. In true Kyoto fashion, there’s a great variety of obanzai dishes, plus many unique options such as morning ramen and onigiri—very satisfying overall. There’s also a proper egg station. The best item was the vegetarian salt yakisoba; it’s tucked away in a corner and easy to miss, but the seasoning was exactly to my taste.

This was my first st...
This was my first stay at DoubleTree by Hilton, and both the room and lobby were very clean, making for a comfortable stay. The welcome cookie I received at check-in was still slightly warm and tasted delicious! The bathroom was quite spacious, allowing me to relax fully. I was satisfied with the staff, breakfast, and overall experience in the room. If I had to mention something minor, it would be that the hallway felt humid and warm, and there were only two coin-operated laundry machines available. However, it’s very convenient that you can check the usage status and remaining time of the laundry machines in real-time from your room's TV without needing to wait by them constantly! Overall, it was a very satisfying stay! I would love to stay here again if given another opportunity!

Twin Executive Room
I stayed in the Twin Executive Room this time. The cost performance was not very good. The lounge access was a bit underwhelming, though the coffee was delicious. There were no basic amenities for women. I’ve stayed at various Hotels, and usually, executive rooms with lounge access include a full set of women's amenities. If they are not provided, it should be clearly mentioned in the Hotel details—it caused significant inconvenience! What stood out was the excellent English proficiency of the woman at the front desk—she spoke like a native speaker (though this might not matter much to Japanese guests). In conclusion, I think there’s no need to opt for lounge access to enjoy your stay here fully—it would make for a highly satisfying Hotel experience without it!

I treated myself to ...
I treated myself to a reward trip after completing a major task, but it was disappointing that the start of my trip was delayed. Even after the 3 PM check-in time, I had to wait due to a system issue and unfinished cleaning, which took about half an hour. The separate toilet and bathroom were a big plus, and there were cute yukatas provided; however, I personally would have preferred pajamas for relaxing. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options and was very satisfying.

Being part of the Hilton chain, my expectations might have been high, but it fell short, which was disappointing. However, the Hotel staff provided top-notch service, and there are no complaints in that regard. I booked a high floor to enjoy the lounge, but the tea time was underwhelming. The evening with alcohol was good, but I was surprised by how short the time was. The Room was not particularly spacious, and the outdated TV was a disappointing point. If the price were a bit lower, it would have been acceptable, but unfortunately, it was disappointing.

Used the lounge.
Stayed in a Twin Executive Room and used the lounge. The DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie we received at check-in was delicious. The view from the lounge was very nice. We could frequently see the Shinkansen, which made the children happy. I think we could have enjoyed it more if there were a few more food options in the lounge. We had breakfast on the first floor. There was a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes, and we were very satisfied. There were also menu items that made the children happy, which was great. This time, we were able to have a late check-out by one hour, so we could relax. The room was new, and the bathroom was clean and comfortable.

Good access, and the service and meals are satisfactory.
It was conveniently located near Kyoto Station, allowing us to visit various places and even go for the first shrine visit of the year. The front desk service was excellent, and we enjoyed delicious breakfast and dinner. I noticed there were many foreign guests. The room was clean and comfortable, making for a relaxing stay. It was a comfortable 2-night, 3-day stay. Thank you very much. We appreciate your hospitality.

The review was slightly off.
The room had a slight sound from the Shinkansen, but the view was so good that it was hardly noticeable. Especially in the morning and evening, the colors of the city of Kyoto change beautifully. The service was pleasant both in the hall and lounge, and when staying in a room with lounge access, you can check in and out at the lounge. I prefer to spend my time leisurely at the hotel, so I don't talk to other guests! Unusually, I had many conversations with the staff, and it felt as comforting as returning home. There is plenty of food and drink in the lounge, so rest assured. I forgot to mention, the eco-friendly water is in a pot, so it's best to fill it early to enjoy delicious water quickly. The bath is also convenient to use, and the shower has good water pressure. The building itself is still new, so it is very clean! The strength of this hotel is that, despite being in the city and part of a major international chain, they quickly respond to any issues you may have, and you can have enjoyable conversations with the staff! Even a one-day stay can make your heart feel warm and relaxed! The food and drinks are also plentiful, and while everyone has their preferences, you'll understand the appeal once you stay. It's often said that words can't express it! You can feel the energy of the place, relax, and feel at ease, whether you're alone, with someone special, or with children, you can surely spend a relaxing time. The location is about an 8-minute walk straight at a normal pace to the left from the Hachijo Exit of Kyoto Station, and you'll see "DoubleTree" in Roman letters on top of the building. Also, thank you very much to all the staff during my stay, I will visit again! It feels like returning to my hometown. I will visit to receive the wonderful energy. Perhaps this hotel can quickly gather information from reviews and other sources and make immediate adjustments. I thought it was a hotel where I could visit smoothly regardless of my state or feelings.

There is no mineral water.
First, I was surprised there was no mineral water. There was a small simple water purifier in the room, and I was supposed to use that. Haha. When I bought and brought mineral water, three bottles were really heavy. Cardboard boxes are not sold. Shipping is possible. When I called at midnight, no answer! Were they asleep? Room service is available until 11 PM. I didn't use the breakfast or restaurant. The "carriage porch" is in a hard-to-find location, so the taxi driver couldn't find it. Despite being a large hotel, the entrance is very narrow and small. If there's a line at the front desk, you'll end up waiting. The lounge on the top floor is available if you stay in a suite room. Suite rooms are ridiculously expensive. Even the regular room I stayed in was over 50,000 yen. [It was 77,530 yen] It's like a slightly luxurious version of a business hotel. Kyoto has the world's highest accommodation tax. If it exceeds 50,000 yen, it's 1,000 yen per night!!! Because it's too close to Kyoto Station, the taxi app is out of range, so you have to move a bit to call a taxi yourself. When I asked the counter for a taxi, they said, "It takes time because it doesn't come easily." I've only seen foreign guests. Do Japanese people not stay because it's too expensive? Compared to 300,000 yen class hotels like Ritz-Carlton or Four Seasons, is it cheaper??? Speaking of which, Aman was in the 500,000 yen class. The lady at the counter was straightforward, and she didn't say "Have a nice day" when I left. When I called a taxi for the return, they guided me to the street, but... She didn't even smile, so it's different from Ritz-Carlton Tokyo. Among the hotels I've stayed at, Ritz-Carlton Tokyo might have had the best service. The bath was okay. There's usually a hole in the middle that prevents it from filling up in business hotel bathtubs, but here, there's no hole, so you can fill it up. The view is not good. I mean, there are only buildings. Well, the only hotel in Kyoto with a view is the east side of Okura Kyoto (Kamo River side). Otherwise, it's Ritz-Carlton Kyoto. There are plenty of places to sit in the lobby. If you know places like Peninsula Tokyo where there's almost no seating in the lobby, in comparison, there's plenty of space on the lobby floor. Kyoto hotels generally don't have views. (Due to low-rise buildings) Well, the good thing was that the room was close to the elevator.

I stayed in a Room w...
I stayed in a Room with access to the club lounge. The food in the lounge was delicious, and regarding the smell in the Room that everyone mentioned in the Review, I didn't find it unpleasant and thought it was a good Hotel, but the unfriendly attitude of the club lounge staff was disappointing... It was very disappointing that they sighed "Haa" in front of the guests and did not even look up or greet us when we left the lounge after checking out. In contrast, the receptionist at the breakfast venue on the first floor kindly said with a smile, "Have a nice day" as we left. Also, I used the Hotel parking lot, but at the time of checkout, they did not inform me about the parking ticket at all, which was very unkind.
