    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    From the moment we were welcomed through to the attentive care during meals, we received heartfelt hospitality throughout. We stayed in the Mizuki Room, and it was wonderful. The living area has a sunken kotatsu and felt a bit compact, but since there were only two of us, it was perfectly comfortable. There is a footbath area where you can sit on a rocking chair, and the open-air bath had hot water flowing continuously—perhaps free-flowing from the source. There is also a cold-water tap, so you can add water to adjust the temperature. We couldn’t find an Onsen analysis report. The footbath and open-air bath are set in a spacious, relaxing area; we could unwind on the deck, or soak while gazing at the rocks and sky, which felt very calming. There are two toilets; one was TOTO’s top-of-the-line model. Even the amenities reflected thoughtful hospitality, so guests may want to look forward to them. Nearby Tawarayama was also lovely!

    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay here. The Room was beautifully designed and very comfortable. The open-air bath, a rock bath kept at the perfect temperature, felt wonderful at any time, and there was also a reclining bath where I could truly relax. The Japanese garden was also stunning and helped me forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The meals used plenty of local ingredients and were delicious. All staff provided very courteous service, and I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    First Accommodation Stay

    We stayed at this accommodation to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, a long-awaited dream come true. The room, bath, and cuisine were all of high quality, making it a very satisfying stay. However, the highlight was the heartfelt hospitality of the staff, which elevated the overall experience significantly. This is an accommodation that deserves more recognition. If you are visiting Kumamoto for sightseeing, we highly recommend taking a little detour to visit here. You will surely understand what we mean once you experience it yourself!

    Kyushu Trip

    I was looking for an accommodation with a private onsen for my trip to Kumamoto and found this place that matched my preferences, so I made a reservation and visited. The room was new, clean, and very comfortable. The meals were delicious, though the portions might be slightly large for women. I was deeply impressed by the staff's hospitality and had a wonderful time during my trip! I would love to use this accommodation again when I visit Kumamoto.

    Everything except the meals is excellent at this Ryokan!

    Apart from the meals, this is a truly wonderful Ryokan. The dinner and breakfast tasted like they were made by a skilled home cook. However, the balance of ingredients, broth, and seasoning was not up to the standard expected of a Ryokan, which was quite disappointing. That said, it wasn't inedible, but I did leave the miso soup after just one sip.

    I had a great refresh.

    We stayed at Akane for a multiple night stay as a couple. The room's open-air bath and reclining bath were excellent, allowing us to fully enjoy a relaxing and healing time! The staff's hospitality was outstanding, making it an accommodation we would love to visit again.

    A Special Day

    This time, we searched for a property on IKYU that we wanted to stay at least once in our lives for our wedding anniversary trip, and we stayed there. We were able to spend a very wonderful time in a quiet location where we could hear the birds chirping, experiencing an extraordinary moment. We are grateful for the heartwarming hospitality, especially from the proprietress. The reason for rating the bath a 3 is that we had pre-booked the sauna & open-air bath, and when we entered with high expectations, thinking there were several open-air baths, we were surprised to find many cold baths instead, exclaiming "Wow, cold! It's water! Huh? This is water too," and wondered where the hot water was (laughs). We suddenly soaked in three cold baths and got chilled, so we warmed up in the sauna. We had never experienced having so many cold baths in an open-air bath before, so we rated it a 3. I wonder if there is hot water in winter? (Since I have a hobby of onsen tours...) The semi-open-air bath in the guest room allowed us to relax and unwind, relieving our daily fatigue. Thank you very much.

    A place I definitely want to stay at again

    There are only 12 detached rooms on the vast grounds. I was amazed by the fusion of Japanese architectural craftsmanship and modern architecture. I wonder how much cost and time were invested in this wonderful sukiya-style construction. We were guided to a private open-air bath. There is also a sauna room, and the cold bath is said to be the deepest in Japan. Above all, the young staff were excellent in their attentiveness and thoughtfulness. The meals were also very satisfying, with the chef's wholehearted dishes showing no signs of cutting corners. I would like to stay in each room again.
