    I had always wanted ...

    I had always wanted to visit Himi, but I struggled to find the perfect accommodation that matched my ideal. After extensive research, I discovered this wonderful accommodation. This small luxury retreat accommodates only two groups per day, but on the day of our stay, we were fortunate to have it all to ourselves. It felt like having a private villa—a truly luxurious experience. The meals exceeded all expectations. The creative dishes featuring Toyama's seafood were absolutely exquisite. What elevated this culinary experience even further was the sake pairing selected by the proprietress, who is a certified sake sommelier. Each pairing perfectly complemented each dish and brought out the full flavors of Toyama's seafood. Conversations with all the staff were also incredibly enjoyable. This is an accommodation that makes you want to return again and again. Wishing you continued success in your endeavors! Thank you very much!

    Lack of hospitality

    This accommodation, listed on IKYU.com, left us with mixed feelings. While the property seems to focus on material aspects, it lacks hospitality for travelers coming from afar. 1. Before arrival, we were told to call upon getting close due to its hard-to-find location. However, no one answered our calls at the scheduled time of arrival. The surrounding area was pitch dark and desolate, leaving us anxious. 2. Upon being shown to the room after arrival, we noticed a suitcase placed on the living room table where meals are served—raising concerns about hygiene. 3. In the room: - No in-house phone or iPad; guests must use their own phones to contact staff. - No hand towels provided (bath towels and tenugui cannot be replaced even if wet). - No Onsen available; only an indoor bath with blinds that do not fully close—unsettling for two female travelers. - An unnecessary washing machine is present. - No view (the window faces another building of the same accommodation). 4. The outdoor bath is shared with other guests and cannot be used freely: - Amenities include only cotton swabs in a cup; no hairdryer, phone, water supply, or toilet nearby. - Lights from neighboring buildings are visible when looking up at the sky (though they claim it's not possible to see inside). - Green stains or mold are visible on parts of the floor. - Despite being called a "steamy Onsen," it closes by 9:30 AM for cleaning before check-out—leaving no time for leisurely bathing. 5. Although advertised as all-inclusive: - Only one beer per person in the fridge and small tea bottles were provided alongside dinner drinks. - There was no welcome drink such as tea upon arrival. 6. Emergency exit instructions were missing—raising safety concerns. 7. Meals were beautifully presented and delicious but had issues: - Initial hand towels were dry, - Allergy requests (e.g., fish roe) were not handled properly, making it difficult to enjoy mealtime fully. 8. Cost: For two people during a weekend stay at ¥137,550—the experience felt overpriced given these shortcomings. Additionally: - A chocolate souvenir lacked an expiration date label. We had high expectations since this was an IKYU-listed accommodation but left feeling disappointed and regretful about our choice. That said, Himi City's seafood is incredibly delicious!

    First time visiting Toyama and Kanazawa. Started by enjoying Himi!

    We planned a trip to the unexplored areas of Toyama and Kanazawa, starting with a stay in Himi. We chose "Yunosato Ikemori Annex AMAZA Tenza," one of Japan's 64 secret hot springs. From check-in, the staff's warm and friendly service helped us relax without feeling formal or tense. The Onsen had a rich iron content, offering smooth waters, and we could enjoy private open-air baths freely 24 hours a day. In the large public bath’s open-air section, there was a barrel sauna where you could enjoy forest bathing accompanied by birdsong—a truly soothing experience for the soul. The cold bath used well water containing Onsen minerals, which perfectly complemented outdoor relaxation time. All amenities like shampoo, conditioner, skincare products, and pajamas were gentle on the skin—clearly chosen with guests' comfort in mind. I especially loved their camellia hair oil so much that I purchased it as well! Dinner was served as a course meal featuring local ingredients beautifully presented on exquisite tableware—an absolute delight! The sashimi stood out as exceptionally delicious; it made me wonder what I had been eating until now! When I asked about it out of curiosity, the staff explained why Himi fish is so flavorful and how their head chef takes great care in preservation methods—it all made sense after hearing this explanation. Dessert was vegan-friendly sweets using homegrown apples—absolutely delightful! Even the vegan whipped cream tasted amazing; it’s clear they carefully select health-conscious seasonings for their dishes too. I’m already looking forward to visiting again during winter for their famous buri-shabu (yellowtail hot pot) season—I’ve become an AMAZA Tenza fan for sure! Tomorrow we’ll be staying in Kanazawa; can’t wait to continue enjoying Hokuriku to its fullest!

    It was an exceptional accommodation where you can experience something extraordinary!

    Stayed with my husband's relatives. My husband uses a wheelchair, and we heard from my sister-in-law that "Ikemori has built a new barrier-free building," and that he could even enter the onsen in his wheelchair, so we made a reservation immediately. This accommodation only allows two groups to stay at once, and from the entrance, it felt like stepping into another world... We were welcomed with handmade cookies while receiving an explanation about the accommodation. The space was very spacious and relaxing, and the view from the window was soothing. The refrigerator contained beer, barley tea, and water—all included in the price. The meals were made with ingredients sourced from Himi; they were visually stunning and absolutely delicious! Even the tableware was exquisite (luxurious items). For dinner, drinks listed on their menu—both alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic options—were all-you-can-drink. Communication such as notifying when meals are finished is done via LINE, which is very convenient. A wheelchair for bathing was provided in our room so my husband could use it to go directly to a private open-air bath located just outside our hallway. There’s an amazing device that allows wheelchairs to enter the onsen! It was truly moving! Additionally, there’s a specially designed chair allowing you to adjust your position perfectly for stargazing while soaking—it’s incredibly thoughtful down to every detail! My husband was overjoyed as well. After bathing in the onsen waters here, your skin feels soft and moisturized without needing any lotion or body cream—it’s incredible! Besides AMAZA's private open-air bath facilities available exclusively for guests staying there; access also extends toward enjoying baths within their main building too! The loungewear provided had separate top-and-bottom pieces made of silky smooth fabric offering maximum comfort alongside plush beds featuring premium American-brand mattresses everyone loved dearly. Everything during our stay—from food & drink offerings through living arrangements—was carefully curated prioritizing health-consciousness resulting overall excellence beyond words alone can describe adequately enough! We ended up purchasing some amenities like shampoo/body wash used during stays plus teas served alongside meals because they impressed us greatly too. Lastly but certainly not least: young proprietress along w/entire staff exhibited polished professionalism balanced w/genuine warmth ensuring utmost relaxation throughout entire visit experience altogether memorable indeed! Upon departure day itself waving goodbye enthusiastically added final touch leaving lasting impression fond memories cherished forevermore!! 😊 Thankful beyond measure wholeheartedly recommend returning future occasions ahead assuredly!!

    I stayed at this acc...

    I stayed at this accommodation during a trip with friends. The tranquil atmosphere of the surrounding area made it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a peaceful time. Rather than being overly systematized or formal, the staff's warm and personable approach created a welcoming, homey environment that was truly relaxing. The meals were simple yet thoughtfully prepared, allowing us to enjoy a delightful dining experience while sharing our impressions with each other. As an added bonus, we were able to see fireflies in the nearby rice fields due to the season, which became a wonderful memory.

    I want to live in Himi.

    To sum it up, it was an excellent accommodation. The food, service, facilities, furnishings, and bath were all highly satisfying. As someone who loves fishing and often eats freshly caught fish, I must say I’ve never had such delicious fish before. Is it the quality of the fish from Himi or the skill of the chef? Either way, it was exceptional. Other dishes were also exquisite; even the tableware used by artisans and the beautiful presentation added to the experience. The furnishings were equally impressive—the bed was very comfortable, and designer furniture like chairs and even small items like cutlery made it a delight for anyone who appreciates interior design. The baths were fantastic as well—besides a private bath exclusive to Amaza guests, there was also access to a large public bath in what seemed like a guesthouse area and even a barrel sauna. What stood out most was the warm hospitality we received. The staff’s kindness left an impression on us—and our child as well! When we departed after just two nights’ stay, their heartfelt farewell with waves felt like saying goodbye to a place we had lived in for much longer—it remains etched in my heart. Although I usually prefer exploring new destinations rather than revisiting places I've been before, this accommodation made me want to return to Himi again someday. I hope to visit during another season next time. Thank you so much!

    It was an amazing experience.

    Warm and attentive service, delicious cuisine made with fresh seasonal local ingredients, and soothing onsen made our one-night stay a truly refreshing experience for both body and mind! The annex, with only two rooms, offered a very quiet and private atmosphere. The room reflected thoughtful attention to detail in everything from the furniture and fixtures to the amenities and small decorations. The wall art was charmingly cute, evoking a sense of nature. It created an extraordinary yet comfortable space, with the high ceilings adding an especially pleasant touch. Although we stayed in March, the hallways were warmly heated throughout the accommodation, making us feel welcomed from the moment we entered thanks to both the warmth of the space and interactions with staff. The private onsen had a wonderful ambiance and was incredibly relaxing (I had been suffering from severe shoulder stiffness for days but felt remarkably better after using it!). The open-air bath in the main building's large public bath area was also exceptional. Every dish served during our meals was absolutely delicious. The presentation of each dish—both in terms of plating and tableware—was stunningly beautiful, offering enjoyment not just for taste but also for sight and smell. The flavors were so refined yet complex that I find it hard to put into words; they left such an impression that I would revisit just to enjoy this cuisine again! This trip was part of celebrating my mother's 77th birthday during our visit to Toyama Prefecture. She seemed extremely satisfied as well! Staying here became one of those experiences that make you think coming all this way was truly worthwhile—a destination-worthy accommodation indeed. We are deeply grateful for all the thoughtful gestures by your staff members throughout our stay. We will definitely return again someday! Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!

    It can be summed up in one word: wonderful.

    Who could have predicted that such a sophisticated Stays would exist in the satoyama? It was a wonderful Property. From the entrance, it felt like another world. A sense of privacy and a luxurious atmosphere quietly pervade. The high ceilings and the attention to detail in the furniture and tableware are impressive. I was surprised by the high level of cuisine, which was unimaginable from a house in the satoyama. The taste and presentation were genuine, with no deception. It seemed as if a top-notch chef had carefully prepared the dishes, resulting in a very refined and elegant taste. The universal design Room was the epitome of comfort. My husband has hemiplegia and uses a wheelchair. Finding a Property is always challenging, and even when we have high expectations, we often encounter inconveniences, leaving both him and me, as his caregiver, feeling disheartened. The bath, in particular, is usually hard work and far from relaxing. However, at this Property, we could move directly from the Room to a dedicated wheelchair and then automatically into the bathtub. It was safe and truly comfortable. It was touching!! Both my husband and I were overjoyed. For wheelchair users and their families, there is nothing more delightful than this. Additionally, the quality of the Onsen felt mild yet powerful without any peculiarities. I often suffer from swollen and heavy legs, but it felt as if the soles of my feet and calves were being gently massaged, providing a pleasant sensation. The proprietress and staff were very attentive and kind, allowing us to have the best time. Amazasan. Among the Stays I, a commoner, have stayed at so far, it was honestly the most luxurious in terms of price, but it was more than worth it, being the most wonderful, comfortable, and warmest Stays! We will definitely visit again. Thank you very much.

    A property that exceeds perfection

    This trip was focused on baths and meals, and I found Amaza (Amaza) which accommodates only two groups per day. The start was promising with the hostess who came to pick us up, making it seem like a fun experience. As soon as we entered the Room, the leopard design and the bed captivated us. The first barrel sauna in the large public bath and the private open-air bath were both excellent. The long-awaited dinner was filled with carefully selected dishes that were gentle on the body, and the drinks flowed too easily. The time spent at the bar with the hostess, which I had been looking forward to, was so enjoyable that I wanted to talk much more. The young lady who saw us off was charming and cute, and I look forward to her promising future. Thank you for allowing us to spend three days truly relaxing and having fun. Wishing for the development of Himi.

    It was the best accommodation that I would like to visit again.

    I searched for a barrier-free inn for my trip to Hokuriku and booked this place. It was the most stress-free stay I've ever had in a barrier-free room. While water facilities often become a source of stress for wheelchair users, I had no issues at all using the bath, toilet, and sink. The meals were truly delicious, and the open-air bath was wonderful. You can transfer to a wheelchair for the bath and enjoy the open-air bath. Although I couldn't see it due to the weather, it seems you can enjoy the bath while gazing at the starry sky. The staff at the inn were amazing, and it was such a wonderful place that I almost don't want to share it. I would like to bring my parents and visit again next year.
