    A Wonderful Time

    I was truly comforted by the General Manager’s thoughtfulness and the warm hospitality of all the staff. Thank you very much. The only disappointment was at checkout: I purchased two packs of seaweed salt that I had enjoyed with my meal as souvenirs, and they were bagged for me, but ginger miso was inside instead. It was my fault for not checking the contents, but I only noticed when I got home and opened the bag, hoping to enjoy the seaweed salt and relive the wonderful meal.

    I was able to spend a quiet, relaxing time.

    Our first time in Noto. Every year, we stay at various seaside places on family trips, and this time we were able to spend a truly memorable moment. You kindly checked in with us about the view affected by the earthquake, but we felt that was part of our connection as well, and we want to cherish it. Everyone on Notojima was so warm, and it was clear how deeply they care for Noto—it really came through to us. The hospitality here is the best we have experienced among all the Accommodations we have stayed at. The sushi dinner featured mostly local ingredients from Noto and the surrounding area. Everything was so fresh—full of items we don’t usually get to eat—and we were genuinely impressed. The staff’s every gesture was pleasant, making our stay very comfortable. For breakfast, we enjoyed a delicious meal while looking out at the sea and feeling time pass slowly. I believe their commitment to local ingredients and caring for what matters is what makes it taste so good. It’s not an easy place for us to revisit due to the distance, but this is a truly wonderful Accommodation that makes us want to return in another season.

    It was a wonderful, memorable accommodation!

    Highly recommended for anyone planning an Accommodation stay in Noto. We stayed this time to celebrate my sushi-loving companion’s birthday. Memory highlight #1: the sushi course dinner. The variety of toppings was impressive, and it made me think, “As expected of Noto—you can catch just about anything here.” My companion was delighted as well, especially with the local sake pairing. Memory highlight #2: the staff and service. We were welcomed by the general manager at check-in, and staff kindly chatted with us in the bar lounge. I could really feel their love for Noto, love for this Accommodation, and pride in their work. It was so comfortable that I regret asking too many personal questions. Everyone was wonderful. Memory highlight #3: the view. Unfortunately we couldn’t see the sunrise, but you can watch the waves endlessly while doing nothing at all. From my Room I could see an area being used for reconstruction work, but by adjusting the curtains you can still enjoy an ocean view. (We heard that many fishing ports are still in recovery as well, so of course that comes first.) On our way out, hoping to contribute even a little to recovery efforts, we purchased a rice bowl made by a local artist. With these memories attached to it, rice at home somehow tastes even better. Next time we’d like to save up and visit during crab season—thank you again in advance.

    Wonderful Accommodation

    This was my fourth stay. Once again, I had an exceptional time. I was comforted by the warm hospitality of everyone, including the manager. The delicious sushi and perfectly paired sake were outstanding! From the carefully prepared breakfast dishes—starting with the local vegetable salad—to the grilled dried nodoguro, everything was exquisite. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    The Ultimate Relaxing Accommodation

    My wife saw this featured in a magazine and insisted we had to visit, so we did. The moment you step into the Accommodation, you’re greeted by a breathtaking view that will make anyone gasp. We also fully enjoyed the same spectacular scenery from the sauna we booked in advance. Dinner was the sushi kaiseki we’d been looking forward to—every piece of sushi, made with fish caught in Ishikawa, was delicious. The Room had great interior design and felt calm and relaxing. We also enjoyed chatting with the manager and could really feel his love for the local area. We will definitely be back!

    Exquisite Sushi Showcasing the Finest Ingredients

    Stunning views from the bar lounge and dining venues, and sea and sky views from a comfortably sized Room. A superb selection of dishes that aren’t overcomplicated, bringing out the best in each ingredient. Thank you for kindly accommodating my request to serve one portion of sushi split into two due to dental treatment. Until August, I was able to enjoy a wide variety of sake in small pours with the all-inclusive plan (I was told that from September 1, 2026 onward, all drinks will be charged). Thank you for your attentive yet not overbearing hospitality and for such a comfortable stay.

    The location, the building’s design, and the hospitality were all excellent. But the best part was definitely the food—everything was unbelievably delicious. If I had one wish, it would be a Shuttle Service from the station. Still, I will definitely come again.

    I was able to relax and take it easy.

    I stayed here on the final day of my trip to Ishikawa. First, I would like to sincerely say that I hope this wonderful Accommodation will be restored and continue to be enjoyed by many people in the future. During my stay, time passed quietly, and I was able to relax and forget about everyday life. The sunrise I saw from my Room was truly beautiful and deeply moving. Every dish was carefully prepared with local ingredients and absolutely delicious, making me look forward to every meal. The Room was also comfortable and pleasant, but there were times when insects outside were a bit bothersome. If insect control could be strengthened a little in the future, it would make the stay even more comfortable. I also will never forget the connection with the ceramic artist you introduced me to. The plate and kiln I purchased have become wonderful pieces that bring back memories of the trip every time I use them. Thank you very much for such a memorable stay.

    I tried contacting t...

    I tried contacting the Ryokan multiple times before my visit, but no one answered the phone. For a Ryokan costing over 270,000 yen per night, not offering Shuttle Service left me feeling a bit disappointed. I took a taxi to get there, and when I arrived at the Ryokan, there was no one at the entrance to greet me. When they provided information about the Facility and services, they addressed me with "san" instead of "sama" when saying my name. Having lived in Japan for 10 years and stayed at various luxury Ryokans and Hotels, this was my first time experiencing something like this—it was surprising. It made me feel that Japanese hospitality might not be as important when it comes to foreign guests. The amenities in the guest room, such as slippers, were not particularly high-quality and felt more like those found in a Business Hotel.

    Warm Hospitality and Breathtaking Views

    The breathtaking views were truly a feast. The Room, lounge, and restaurant all offered stunning scenery in perfect weather. There was a change from the planned sushi course, but the kaiseki meal was delicious. After dinner, we also enjoyed the wide selection of drinks in the lounge. Thanks to the warm hospitality of the manager and all staff members, we were able to relax completely. I don’t usually use saunas much, but I went several times because of the beautiful view of the islands from inside and spent a very peaceful time there. Breakfast was also tasty, but the mackerel pufferfish was hard to eat and quite mild, so I would have preferred dried blackthroat seaperch if possible. The sushi lunch at Mitsukawa (the same group), which you kindly introduced and helped us book a Reservation for, was excellent as well. Your attention to detail in every aspect was outstanding. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    A Highly Rated Hotel

    I used this Hotel with a friend for a well-deserved reward trip after receiving a bonus! When I told them what time our bus would arrive, they came to pick us up at the bus stop and carried our luggage to the Room. We checked in in the lounge while enjoying drinks, and the view from the lounge was amazing! The Room was impeccably maintained, and you could tell there was careful attention to every amenity. Since there aren’t any convenience stores nearby, I wondered if we’d be okay for food and drinks, but there were more than enough beverages provided—no need to worry at all. Dinner focused on sushi, and everything was truly delicious! I also got to enjoy plenty of recommended sake. For breakfast, grilled nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) was served, and I worried I might not be able to finish it—but it was so good I ate it all easily. The staff’s hospitality was excellent as well—this is a Hotel I’d love to stay at again for another reward trip!

    We had a very comfortable stay. The sushi course was excellent, and the service was warm and welcoming. It was our first time experiencing a wood-fired sauna. The flickering flames and the view were truly soothing. We would love to visit again.

    We finally found a “five-star Accommodation” on Notojima Island—truly grateful!

    Every year, I used to spend New Year’s Eve through New Year’s Day in a certain region, but at the request of my dear partner—who wanted to support the people of Noto working hard on recovery—we chose Ichi Notojima this time. On New Year’s Eve, the weather wasn’t great on the way to the Accommodation, but the moment we arrived at Ichi Notojima, the sun broke through the clouds and a rainbow arched across the eastern sky as if to welcome us. While listening to a warm greeting from the manager, we enjoyed a welcome drink. Then a young bellman escorted us to our reserved Room with a private sauna: SUSO (the Room name). We were told that each Room is named after places on Notojima. The guest room was impeccably clean—an ideal space to unwind after traveling. The in-room sauna was wonderful; open the door and you can head straight out to the terrace. Relaxing on the terrace with a drink in hand was simply perfect. (It was New Year’s season, so it was a bit chilly outside—though still enjoyable.) And then there was dinner—truly outstanding, so good it gave me chills for the first time in ages. On beautiful Wajima-lacquer-finished tables, we were served exquisite sushi made with fish caught that very day. When I first saw today’s menu, I wondered if we could finish it all—but it was so delicious that I couldn’t help but feel deeply moved. The sushi especially felt like “the real thing” for the first time in quite a while. We also made some special requests regarding drinks, and they kindly provided excellent alcohol pairings for each dish. (Sincere thanks to the staff member who poured our welcome drink and also accommodated our requests during dinner.) Dining at Ichi Notojima is something any gourmet should experience. Above all, what impressed me most was every member of staff: Mari-san (the manager), the young male staff member who guided us, another male staff member who cheerfully served drinks despite my many requests, and both chefs who prepared such an incredible meal—I’m truly grateful to everyone at Ichi Notojima. When we left the Accommodation, Mari-san and our young bellman waved broadly until our car disappeared from view—it genuinely moved me. This has been a long review, but if you ever have a chance to visit Notojima, I wholeheartedly recommend Ichi Notojima. We were able to welcome an amazing new year here. Even though I may have been a demanding guest, we will definitely return again. Thank you so much!

    We had a wonderful time.

    The meals were delicious, and even when there were ingredients I don’t like, the staff kindly prepared alternatives without any fuss. The spa was also wonderful. They shared lots of great recommendations for sightseeing and souvenirs, which was very helpful. The Room was very comfortable and easy to relax in. I would have liked hair oil in the Room as well. Overall, it was a very enjoyable trip, and I would love to visit again.

    Thanks to the wonder...

    Thanks to the wonderfully warm hospitality of all the staff, we were able to enjoy a truly comfortable and relaxing time on the island! The meals featured mainly local ingredients, and there were many things we had never tried before. The head chef kindly explained each one, which made dining even more enjoyable! It seems you can sometimes spot wild dolphins from this Accommodation if you’re lucky, but unfortunately we didn’t get to see any—so we’d love to come back and try again! We will definitely visit again. Thank you very much!!

    The Finest Sushi Auberge

    The meals at this Accommodation were outstanding for both dinner and breakfast. Among all the luxury Ryokan I have stayed at, this was the highest level of cuisine I have ever experienced. The dinner, centered on sushi and seafood dishes, was one delight after another. It felt like a level of cooking I may never encounter again at a Ryokan. The staff’s service was warm and genuinely welcoming, which made the stay very comfortable. The Room was spacious and spotless, but it was disappointing that you can’t enjoy an outside view from the bath. Still, thanks to the large terrace, we were able to relax while looking out over Nanao Bay. Because our Room was on the first floor, it was disappointing to see the ground right below and construction machinery in the port renovation area. However, the view of Nanao Bay from the second-floor lounge can only be described as spectacular. Overall, it was a deeply moving stay made even more memorable by truly delicious sushi.

    The fact that only people can create the best experiences

    We visited for one night starting October 19. With Noto still in the midst of recovery—and further hit by flooding—we considered canceling, but when we called, we were warmly told, “Please do come,” and were able to make the trip. The weather that day was unfortunately windy and rainy, but as soon as we arrived at the parking lot across from the Facility, a staff member came to greet us with two umbrellas—one for my wife as well. At that moment, I knew we had made a great choice.\n\nWith breathtaking views over the calm inland sea from Notojima, we checked in while enjoying a welcome drink of sparkling wine. We then headed straight to the private spa. I’m not a fan of dry saunas, but the wood-fired sauna brought on a gentle sweat—so comfortable.\n\nInside the Facility, you can relax in the provided T-shirt and pajamas. A nice touch. After the sauna, we were shown to our Room. The view from its large windows was just as spectacular as from the lobby.\n\nBefore dinner, we enjoyed free-flow drinks in the lobby. With a drink in hand, conversation with the manager flowed easily. Hearing about their feelings for Noto and all those working toward recovery—especially after what happened on January 1—was deeply moving.\n\nDinner delivered both quality and volume worthy of an “sushi auberge.” Conversation with the head chef was engaging throughout, and every dish was satisfying. The pairing of locally sourced sushi toppings with local sake was delightfully niche and fun—and before we knew it, two and a half hours had passed.\n\nThen it was bar time back in the lobby. Along with another couple who joined us there, we enjoyed lively conversation late into the evening. Each staff member’s personality is truly this auberge’s greatest charm.\n\nBreakfast was excellent as expected—and morning coffee afterward in the lobby tasted exceptional too. In every exchange with the manager, you could feel genuine hospitality and an attitude that never settles for “good enough.” It naturally made us want to return.\n\nA rare auberge that left a lasting impression after quite some time.     It was a wonderful property that made me want to visit everyone again. Whether it was sushi at night, freshly cooked rice for breakfast, or the cafe and bar in the lounge, the staff provided service with gentle and warm smiles, making it truly an unforgettable property. The wood-fired sauna was also open and allowed for a special time with the aroma of hojicha (roasted green tea) steam. I was also impressed by the variety and deliciousness of Noto's sake.
