I’d been curious about this place for a long time, and finally got to stay here—something I’d been looking forward to. With the Hotel building and the marche all on the same grounds, it was wonderful to be able to take a stroll even after check-in. Both the Hotel itself and the Room were stylish and lovely. Regarding the towels provided in the Room, I would have appreciated being able to borrow one extra small towel for drying hands after using the restroom. For dinner, we had Japanese cuisine at musubi, but we also saw some international travelers who had bought ingredients and were cooking in the co-working space. Not only was every dish beautifully prepared, but we were also truly impressed by the head chef’s personality and kindness, as well as the thoughtful hospitality of all staff. We would love to visit again just for this meal. At breakfast, we could choose a main dish and soup, while drinks, side dishes, bread, rice, and soups were served buffet-style—an excellent balance overall. It became a truly wonderful memory. We’d love to make this our go-to Accommodation whenever we travel to Ehime.

    Enjoy a spacious, relaxing atmosphere

Stayed overnight after sightseeing at Besshi Copper Mine from Dogo Onsen. Conveniently close to the interchange. You do pass through the city center, but I loved the relaxed atmosphere of this Hotel and the marche. The Room has lots of window space, and I also liked the layout of the bed, sink area, and bath. The view was satisfying too (I had learned from Reviews in advance that you can see the parking lot), with a nice open outlook into the distance. All staff were polite and refreshing—matching the Hotel’s overall vibe. Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared, with just the right amount and quality. I also used the lounge. Buildings designed by Kengo Kuma have been increasing in various places I’ve visited before, but they’re so popular everywhere that it can be hard to enjoy them at my own pace... Here, though, I was able to take my time and enjoy the spaces—the lounge, around the stairs up to the Hotel, and more. I’ll stay again.

It was a very clean Hotel with a great atmosphere, and I really liked it. It was a modern, stylish Hotel. I was a little disappointed that there weren’t many amenities, but next time I’ll make sure to come well prepared.

    It’s a wonderful Hotel.

On the way there, I took the lower road from Imabari Castle, so it felt quite far, and I even wondered if I might not stay again next time. However, once I arrived, the front desk staff were very pleasant, check-in was simple and easy to understand, and while the Room was compact, everything I needed was properly provided. The bathtub was deep in a very Japanese style, so I could relax comfortably. It feels like Kengo Kuma’s attention comes through even in the smallest details, making it a truly comfortable space. Breakfast was also carefully prepared using Saijo vegetables and rice with delicious water—morning hospitality that felt true to this Hotel. I’d love to enjoy it again, so next time I definitely want to visit again and bring my children as well.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

It was a very good Hotel. It was stylish with a sophisticated design, yet it felt relaxed and comfortable rather than tense. We came to Ehime for the first time on our honeymoon, and wanted a beautiful Accommodation surrounded by nature, so we chose ITOMACHI HOTEL0. First of all, the staff were very kind and created a great atmosphere. Thanks to them, we felt this would be a wonderful trip. The Room was very clean, simple with no waste, and comfortable to use. I also slept surprisingly well. Outside, it’s surrounded by mountains—with fresh air, expansive views, and quiet surroundings—so we could truly unwind even inside the Hotel. The reason I rated the bath 4 stars is simply because I personally wished the shower pressure were a bit stronger. Staying at such a lovely Hotel made this trip truly memorable. Thank you very much. When we visit Ehime again, we would definitely like to stay here again.

    Highly recommended Hotel.

This hotel, located in Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture, is a place full of memories for me as it is my hometown where I lived with my family until the age of 18. I spent New Year's in Shikoku and stayed at this hotel on the last day. Visiting Saijo for the first time in 40 years, I was excited to see such a stylish accommodation designed by Kengo Kuma. The exterior exceeded my expectations and was truly stunning. The staff provided clear and polite explanations, leaving a very positive impression on me. The room was comfortable with modern amenities including the toilet and bath—truly giving off the vibe of "a new era of hotels." I chose a plan that included two meals. Dinner was served at the attached restaurant "musubi," which offered exceptional dishes. I even had an enjoyable conversation with the head chef during dinner! "Musubi" is definitely a Japanese restaurant worth making a reservation for to savor its exquisite cuisine! Breakfast was served buffet-style within the hotel. My personal standard for judging buffets is whether they have yogurt bowls or not—and this hotel did! The yogurt was delicious, as were all other items like hot soup, fresh salad, and bread. I am grateful to have experienced such wonderful and stylish moments during my visit to Saijo after 40 years. This is an accommodation I highly recommend to everyone. My only regret... Mount Ishizuchi remained hidden behind clouds; I could only see up to the ski resort area... How I wish I could have seen it!

    Comfortable Time and Space

A hotel that makes you forget the hustle and bustle of daily life the moment you step in. The staff's service is perfectly balanced, neither too close nor too distant. The room was impeccably cleaned. I would like to make this my regular accommodation.

A Hotel You’ll Want to Visit Again

I stayed at the villa. The room was clean and came with a private Onsen, which was amazing. The staff were very kind, making for a pleasant stay. Breakfast was delicious, and the lounge service was excellent. This has become a hotel I definitely want to revisit. It was a highly satisfying trip. I did notice two small points: the towels in the room felt rough and had some loose threads, so it might be time to replace them; also, while the lounge snacks were tasty, they had the same menu on consecutive days during my Multiple Night Stay—rotating menus every other day could enhance satisfaction even more. That said, these are minor details compared to how wonderful this hotel is—I absolutely want to stay here again. It was truly rejuvenating for both body and mind. Thank you very much!

    The Ultimate Relaxation Space

We stayed as a couple in a villa with an open-air bath. The sophisticated exterior and interior, along with the compact yet nature-filled open-air bath, provided true relaxation. The meals were also exceptional—the Italian full-course dinner and the breakfast buffet featuring plenty of local ingredients were simply outstanding. The staff's hospitality was impeccable. It was an accommodation that made us genuinely want to return again and again.

Art Hotel Designed by Kengo Kuma

Relax at this very new Hotel. With elements of an art hotel, staying here offers various enjoyable experiences. Breakfast is not included, but there is a nearby market that opens at 10 AM where you can buy bread and other items. For dinner, we dined at the Japanese restaurant in front of the Hotel (advance Reservation required), and using it as an auberge-style accommodation is also recommended. You may also be able to purchase dinner at the market; however, as it closes around 7 PM, we recommend having your meal beforehand if arriving late for your Accommodation.

We had a relaxing time as a family. The room's interior and decor were lovely. We had dinner at the Italian restaurant on-site, and every dish in the course was made with fresh ingredients and tasted amazing. The natural spring water was also delicious. We would love to visit again.

    I had a relaxing time.

This was my second stay. This time, I stayed in a slightly larger Room as I was with my energetic 2-year-old, and it was comfortable. However, it would have been helpful if the refrigerator had a freezer. Also, the shop felt far away; having more vending machines would be convenient. The breakfast was elaborate and delicious, and the staff were kind. I will definitely stay again. Thank you very much!

The staff had a great atmosphere.

Despite watching other guests' videos in advance, I ended up circling the area once before finding the place. (There was a small sign at the entrance of the street, positioned below eye level.) I chose a villa to enjoy the Onsen. However, unless you add hot water, it was quite cold. The Room had a living room + bedroom and separate bath/toilet + washroom areas, which required going outside each time to move between them—a unique experience but honestly tiring. Since there were tea and a kettle available, it would have been nice if towels were also provided in the living room + bedroom area. The coworking space seemed great but was overly air-conditioned, so I left quickly. Next time, I’d like to spend my stay more leisurely and plan to stay in the Hotel building instead of using an Onsen facility.

The building was beautiful, and the room's interior and atmosphere were pleasant, allowing for a relaxing stay. We stayed as a family and appreciated being able to bring our own food to enjoy in the shared kitchen space. The breakfast menu was gentle on the body, and the multigrain rice was delicious. The front desk staff provided courteous service.

This was indeed our selection mistake, but...

I booked this accommodation in Saijo City, known for its high ratings, for my Ishizuchi Shrine visit. However, the room was very small with no space to place belongings or even a chair to relax. The bathroom only had a shower, and the shower and toilet shared a door? There was no changing area either, which was inconvenient. I was disappointed as it mentioned an Onsen but there wasn’t one. I ended up going to a nearby bathhouse instead. The room felt like a stylish one-room apartment for young people but wasn’t practical to use. It might have been more comfortable if I had chosen a larger room—my mistake for not checking thoroughly beforehand. Breakfast was generally satisfying, though the women in our group commented that the bread wasn’t good.

    The meals are excellent.

I followed Musubi's head chef from Kyoto to visit here. The Japanese cuisine was absolutely exceptional. The Onsen in the room had the perfect temperature and depth, so much so that I felt there was no need to visit Dogo Onsen. The room was a bit small, and I struggled a little with finding the light switches as their locations were unclear. It might be helpful if the switch locations were explained during the room orientation. The staff provided excellent service, combining JW's professionalism with a warm countryside charm. I will visit again in November. Although it's not a place I can frequent due to distance, it’s definitely a Hotel worth returning to. If possible, it would be great if you could offer pet-friendly rooms in the future!

    The best Hotel ever.

We stayed for two nights with our children and requested a surprise for my husband's birthday. Despite the short notice, they prepared a cake and plate, making it the best experience ever for me, my kids, and my husband! We were all extremely satisfied! The Room was spotless, cleaned to perfection—so much so that even someone as particular as me could sleep on the floor. The bathroom was also incredibly clean; we were truly impressed! The staff were kind and attentive. This Hotel is highly recommended!

Perfect for architecture enthusiasts and environmentally conscious travelers.

I chose to stay at this hotel because it was designed by a famous architect. Here are my thoughts in bullet points: 【Positive Points】 - Overall, the customer service was kind and attentive. A male staff member, in particular, provided detailed guidance on walking routes, room facilities, and even offered an upgrade option. - The bath was larger than expected. - The dinner "musubi" was incredibly delicious. It is definitely worth reserving. - Being able to watch YouTube in the room was a nice touch. - The morning light in the breakfast area created a beautiful atmosphere. 【Points for Improvement】 - Some staff members' customer service could be improved → At check-in, there were no smiles (perhaps due to fatigue), no mention of upgrades, and explanations were given quickly without eye contact, making them hard to follow at times despite the overall good service quality elsewhere—this felt like a missed opportunity. - The branding as "Kengo Kuma architecture" might set overly high expectations → While the exterior is designed by Kengo Kuma, other designers handled the interiors and guest rooms; this should be clearly explained as part of how the hotel presents itself since both interior design and rooms are quite simple in style. - If promoting zero energy use as a concept, more thorough efforts would be appreciated → For example, reconsidering disposable slipper bags could align better with this theme. - Limited breakfast menu options → While local sourcing is appreciated, there were no chicken or meat dishes available along with limited choices overall which felt insufficient. - Water faucet issue → Only deluxe rooms or higher have stylish spring water faucets; it would help if this detail were clearly mentioned somewhere. - Having rental bicycles available would be great. Considering its content and location overall, I found the price to be high for what is offered.

    I had a relaxing time.

This time, we made a reservation during Golden Week and were able to relax and unwind. Thank you for your hospitality. We were looking for a place not too far from home and within driving distance, and this hotel came up. Although it was in an unfamiliar area with a unique concept, visiting turned out to be the perfect choice. We reserved the VILLA type, which offered privacy and allowed us to enjoy natural onsen at our convenience—this was probably the best part of our stay. At the reception, the staff always greeted us with smiles, providing attentive service that left a positive impression. The flexibility in meal reservations was also appealing; whether no meals included, breakfast only, or both breakfast and dinner—it suited our preferences perfectly. We liked that we could buy prepared food from a nearby market or eat there as well—it matched our style of travel wonderfully. The room's bed, sofa, symbolic features like experiencing "uchinuki" water—all contributed to high satisfaction at this hotel. Next time, we definitely want to stay for about 2 nights and 3 days! Please continue maintaining your current concept and excellent customer service by your staff members as it is now. Thank you so much for taking care of us this time—we had an amazing trip!

    Itomachi is the best!

I stayed for one night, but I spent both the arrival day and the next day at Itomachi. Just sitting on a bench in front of the market, looking at the mountains, was fulfilling. It's amazing that such a place exists. The Hotel also offers a true sense of luxury. I will come again.

The Room was clean and nice.

The room was clean and comfortable. However, based on the photos at the time of reservation, I expected it to be more spacious, but it felt slightly smaller than imagined. Still, I had a very pleasant stay. It would have been even better if there were hooks to hang bath towels after using the shower booth. Since there were no hooks, I had to use hangers meant for clothes. If many hangers are used for personal clothing, there is no place to hang wet bath towels. I hope this feedback can be helpful for future improvements.

    It was very comfortable.

Although it was a same-day Reservation, they prepared a very lovely Room for us. Even though we arrived late for check-in, we were warmly welcomed. From check-in to check-out, the staff always greeted us with smiles and provided attentive yet unobtrusive service, which was very pleasant. For breakfast, you can choose one main dish from three options and one soup from two options. Salad, small side dishes, rice (including brown rice), and bread are served buffet-style. It was delightful to enjoy local cuisine made with local ingredients. We checked out thinking we'd love to stay here again.

The facility was excellent, but the meals were disappointing.

Attracted by the design of Kengo Kuma, the town planning concept, and the private open-air bath, I stayed for one night. Although I arrived late and couldn't visit the adjacent market, I completed my check-in while enjoying cocktail snacks from the lounge service. The authentic flavors surprised me, raising my expectations for dinner at the Italian restaurant... only to face continuous disappointment. Despite good ingredients, the food was not tasty. The atmosphere resembled an empty gymnasium, and service was subpar. Staff wandered around with wine bottles aimlessly multiple times. However, breakfast at the hotel was exceptional—carefully prepared to highlight each ingredient's flavor. Both the lounge snacks and breakfast were reportedly crafted by dedicated hotel staff. The front desk staff were cheerful and kind, leaving a positive impression. I sympathized with them as they explained how to use features like Kengo Kuma's unique bathroom design in detail. While accessing the open-air bath was slightly challenging, it turned out to be one of the best baths I've experienced on this trip—a serene and relaxing atmosphere made it very comfortable. I look forward to seeing how this new hotel evolves in its presentation moving forward!

In the middle of the city?

Located by the river, this Hotel unexpectedly appears in a place where you wouldn't expect such an accommodation. Known for its delicious water, staying in a villa allows you to enjoy a cozy Onsen open-air bath. The spacious grounds also feature a restaurant and market, adding to the enjoyment. An Accommodation you'll want to visit again.

It is not a luxury accommodation, but the concept is wonderful and refreshing.

Located in an unexpected spot, this place offers a sustainable scale and price without overreaching, and it works perfectly. What impressed me the most was the delicious water! While it may not be as famous as Mt. Fuji or Mt. Daisen, the spring water from Mt. Ishizuchi was incredibly tasty—almost unbelievably so! The way they showcased the water was also excellent. The meals, including vegetables, were absolutely delicious, likely thanks to this amazing water. Even with zero energy consumption, the villas feature Onsen with free-flowing hot springs that helped relieve my fatigue. Since it's not a luxury-oriented facility, the clientele tends to be younger.

The distance to the market is farther than described.

Park your car and first enter the building that houses the front desk and breakfast area. The front desk is fully visible from the parking lot, making it a challenging spot for the staff! For my first stay, I chose a small room and opted for Italian cuisine from the Marche for dinner. The room felt spacious for one person but tight for two. It featured frosted glass sliding doors separating the toilet and shower room, with another sliding door dividing the bedroom from these facilities. Functionally, it’s sufficient if you’re just there to sleep (though on a rainy day like mine, I found myself with extra time to kill). Dinner was about a 3-minute walk from the Hotel. Since it was cold that day, I felt more heating in the dining area would have been appreciated. Despite putting on my jacket midway to signal my discomfort with the cold, it didn’t seem to be noticed. The meal itself was a full-course experience lasting about two hours—very satisfying! As for Marche, I browsed through everything they had to offer; while their selection was decent, prices seemed slightly high overall—leaving me wondering how sustainable their business model might be.

    It was excellent.

We stayed here for our first trip with our 0-year-old baby. The nearby Itomachi Marche felt like a large refrigerator, offering local wagyu BBQ sets, a wine section like a wine cellar, a bakery, and stylish deli items. Since the hotel has a kitchen space where you can cook with ingredients purchased there, we didn’t have any trouble even without adding dinner to our stay. We stayed in the villa building and enjoyed the private open-air onsen after going out, which warmed us up to the core. In the evening, we spent time in the lounge enjoying wine and local sake—it was such an enjoyable experience that time flew by. Thanks to the onsen, we felt warm and cozy throughout. The availability of baby supplies for rent was very helpful; they were set up in advance upon request, reducing our luggage burden significantly. Thank you so much! For families with children who find it challenging to stay at ryokans with open-air onsens unless meals are served in-room, this place is perfect for relaxing privately without worrying about others. Although located in town, the facility itself was very quiet and felt like another world. Breakfast combined selectable dishes with buffet-style options—very healthy overall. The tanuki manju given at checkout and puffed rice snacks provided in the room were so delicious that we ended up buying more at Marche before heading home. Thank you!
