    The price and the Fa...

    The price and the Facility did not match. Although it was described as an upgrade, we were put in a Room with unexplained construction noise, and the view was average. The pool is clean, but capacity is limited, so guests end up competing for seats. The staff member in the pool changing room was very helpful.

    Anniversary Stay

    We stayed here to celebrate a friend’s anniversary. Although it was a Standard Room, it was spacious enough, and we were truly touched that you even prepared a surprise gift. Every time we stepped into the lobby, someone greeted us right away, and we never felt inconvenienced in any way. We sincerely appreciate the wonderful service from all the staff. In the evening we visited the bar, and at lunchtime we enjoyed sushi at Genju—everything was delicious and very satisfying. We would definitely like to stay again.

    Excellent!

    It was an absolutely wonderful stay. When I asked to leave my luggage before check-in, you kindly accommodated my request, which allowed me to go about my plans with peace of mind. The moment I stepped into the Hotel, I was enveloped in a refined yet glamorous fragrance that instantly made the experience feel special. All of the staff were impeccably presented, with polished manners and elegant language. Every interaction felt delightful and memorable. The Club Lounge presentations were all excellent. In particular, the Pasha coffee served at afternoon tea and the specially paired sweets were exceptional—I truly enjoyed a luxurious and uplifting time. I also stopped by the bar before bed, where the bartender created one original cocktail after another tailored to my preferences. It felt like being in a dream. In my room, I initially found the shower controls a bit difficult to use, but when I contacted you, a staff member came right away and explained everything clearly, which was very helpful. Above all, the bed was more comfortable than anything I have ever experienced, and I slept wonderfully. Thanks to you, it became an unforgettable trip. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Simply the best Hotel.

    It was simply an outstanding Hotel. The view was great, the room was spotless, and the staff were amazingly attentive, polite, and quick to help. I didn’t mind at all things like the extremely heavy doors and sliding doors, the dim vanity area where it’s hard to see your face while shaving, the unusual toothbrushes, the awkward shower controls in the bathroom, feeling like you might slip under unless you hold onto the edge of the large bathtub (especially if you’re not Western), water bottles that don’t fit in the fridge, or a creepy Bluetooth speaker that isn’t useful. It was truly an excellent Hotel.

    Everything is wonderful.

    Arriving in the rain, as I was wiping my bags, the staff immediately came over and kindly offered to wipe them for me. They also lent me an umbrella when I went out, which was a great help. The club lounge was very satisfying, from afternoon tea to lunch. The view from the pool is amazing. My next stay in Fukuoka is Done. Thank you very much.

    Thank you very much for taking such great care of us again. Needless to say, the facilities were comfortable and the Club Lounge food presentation was excellent, but we were once again deeply moved by the warm hospitality of the Hotel staff. Spending time chatting with such highly communicative hoteliers was truly a rich and memorable experience. This is a Hotel that makes us want to come back just to see everyone again.

    Three-Generation Travel

    Stayed for a multi-generational trip with 5 rooms. Chose The Ritz-Carlton Fukuoka after a great experience at The Ritz-Carlton Bali last year, but unfortunately, it was disappointing. ① After staying at Snow Peak JYAKKEI Suite, we moved to The Ritz-Carlton Fukuoka for the second night. Coming from an outdoor setting, we wanted to rest in the room quickly. However, despite arriving past the scheduled check-in time of 3 PM and checking in at the Club Lounge, only 2 out of our 5 reserved rooms were ready because previous guests had just checked out. We were told all rooms wouldn’t be ready until 5 PM. This was confusing and frustrating as we had made reservations in advance. While waiting in the lounge, we felt disappointed as everyone wanted to rest before enjoying Tenjin that evening. ② One university student from our group planned to return to Tokyo without staying overnight. I called ahead to ask if takeout items could be purchased from restaurants within the accommodation and was transferred to a Club Lounge staff member who kindly suggested preparing leftover breakfast sandwiches or similar items as a boxed service if using the lounge as an external guest. I appreciated this thoughtful offer and informed my son about it so he could stay with us until heading to the airport later that day. However, when requesting this service on-site at the lounge on that day, I was told they had no knowledge of such arrangements nor provided such services—this left me feeling very uncomfortable. ③ Overnight shoe-shining service: I requested this by phone and wrote down instructions asking for shoes by 8:30 AM since we planned breakfast then; however, they weren’t delivered on time next morning despite multiple calls (which took long enough just connecting). Eventually received them late due miscommunication between night/day shifts—unacceptable delay! ④ Inconsistent provision like missing hand towels during every visit inside lounges alongside unclear storage drawers where indoor wear placed poorly visible initially upon entering three-person shared-room setups lacking pre-prepared amenities matching reservation details beforehand already expectedly arranged otherwise beforehand instead disappointingly absent altogether unnecessarily inconveniently avoidable issues arising repeatedly throughout stays overall detracting experiences negatively impacting impressions significantly lowering expectations future considerations elsewhere alternative options likely preferable avoiding repeat occurrences entirely foreseeable preventable situations altogether better managed differently ideally improved standards maintained consistently higher levels professionalism expected premium pricing paid justified accordingly reasonable     Fusion of Japanese and Western styles

    I have stayed at various Ritz-Carlton Hotels not only within Japan but also in other locations, and I must say that the Fukuoka accommodation is exceptionally refined. The bed, in particular, was outstanding. The mattress and pillows felt as if they embraced my body. I was so impressed with the pillow that I inquired during check-in whether it could be purchased, but unfortunately, it is not available for retail sale as it is specially made by a certain bedding manufacturer. I have never experienced a pillow that suited me so perfectly before. I sincerely hope you consider offering it for retail sale in the future. The breakfast was also exceptional in quality and attention to detail; everything was delicious. Although this was only my second visit to Fukuoka and I had no prior connection to the area, I now plan to travel there again specifically to stay at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Fukuoka.

    A Hotel without Japanese hospitality

    The high expectations before the stay made the experience all the more disappointing. Although located in Japan, this hotel is clearly designed for inbound travelers. It might be acceptable if you approach it as a foreign-owned hotel. I hope this review will be helpful for future Japanese guests. - The room was not ready at check-in time. I arrived on Monday at 4 PM, which was not earlier than the designated check-in time. I was surprised because I had never experienced being told that my room wasn’t ready before. They asked if I wanted to go out, and though I felt like staying as a guest, their suggestion made me feel obliged to leave. - Despite pre-paying with a credit card for accommodation fees, they required a deposit without specifying the amount (perhaps I should have asked?). When I tried to pay in cash, it turned out to be an unexpectedly high amount! Embarrassingly, I ended up using my credit card again. Other hotels usually only collect Accommodation Tax separately upon arrival; this was my first experience of being asked for such a large deposit—perhaps it's insurance for amenities? - When trying to head out later, they mentioned there would be a "tea ceremony." A tea ceremony? It turned out just to mean welcome drinks after our journey—no snacks were provided either. While that’s fine by itself, when asking for something like an oshibori (wet towel), it seemed unusual since non-Japanese guests likely don’t request such items often here. - After killing some time outside and finally entering our room: amenities like face wash or toothpaste were only prepared once despite two female occupants sharing accommodations together; toothbrushes numbered correctly but pajamas came mismatched sizes instead...     I stayed at Skyline ...

    I stayed at Skyline Accommodation. The room was a corner room with excellent views and facilities. If I had to mention a downside, it would be the noise at night. The deep bass sound continued until around 1 AM, making it difficult to sleep. It is unclear whether the source was the bar on the 24th floor or another guest room.

    First time in Fukuoka, Ritz in Osaka, and the third location in Tokyo.

    The view from the large window of the Room is perfect for transportation enthusiasts. Enjoy unlimited views of ships and low-flying airplanes. You can even see Korea in the distance, closer than Tokyo. It was a wonderful opportunity to take time and savor the scenery after a long while.

    A magnificent lounge, but...

    The lounge is the best among all the accommodations I have stayed at so far. However, I felt that the staff at the lobby seemed to be of a higher level than those in the lounge. The night view from the night pool and bar was soothing, which made up for minor mistakes. I would like to visit next time with my family.

    This was my third stay. The coffee machine seemed to be clogged, and the extraction was insufficient. It was the only disappointing experience, but I will stay again next time. How can I request a sea-facing Room for my next visit?

    It was a bit of a splurge, but as expected from The Ritz, it was exceptional. The attentiveness and professionalism of the well-trained staff, the perfect balance in their approach, the room layout, and cleanliness were all outstanding. I had breakfast and afternoon tea during my stay, and breakfast in particular gave me an unparalleled sense of satisfaction that I haven't experienced recently. The matcha croissant is highly recommended. During this visit, I personally had some trouble with my foot and felt the distance when transferring between elevators; however, considering safety aspects, the structure seemed reasonable. Even then, staff kindly offered to carry my luggage for me, which made my stay very comfortable. It’s a hotel I definitely want to visit again!

    I was very satisfied.

    I enjoyed afternoon tea with a friend from Fukuoka in a stunning location, and it was absolutely delightful. The Room was spacious with great views, the bathroom was large, and the bed was incredibly comfortable—everything was perfect. The breakfast buffet offered delicious options across the board. Above all, the hospitality of every staff member was exceptional and truly moving. On my next visit to Fukuoka, I will definitely stay at The Ritz-Carlton Fukuoka again!

    I had high expectations when I visited.

    At check-in, I was asked to register a credit card to simplify the settlement for refrigerator usage and other charges. When I declined, I was required to pay a deposit of 40,000 yen, which I reluctantly paid. At check-out, despite not using any chargeable items like the refrigerator, it took time to settle as the Accommodation Tax was deducted from the 40,000 yen deposit. Regarding amenities, the toothbrush had a wooden handle which wasn’t bad in itself; however, the thickness of the wood made it difficult to brush back teeth properly. It made me wonder if foreigners commonly use such toothbrushes.

    Thank you for the pleasant time.

    Four years ago, we had to cancel our trip to Hakata due to COVID-19. Finally, I was able to visit Hakata this time with my 9-year-old daughter. We chose The Ritz-Carlton Fukuoka after browsing several hotels online, as it looked stylish. The interior design incorporated Japanese elements, and the Room featured chic bamboo sliding doors and beautiful wooden floors that made us comfortable walking barefoot throughout our stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, allowing for a restful sleep. The bathroom and vanity area were also very stylish. We had breakfast at the lounge on both mornings. Initially, we considered switching to the main dining area if we weren’t satisfied on the first day; however, the egg dishes were truly delicious, and there was a wide variety of side dishes available. Although I usually prefer bread for breakfast, I opted for rice both days because the side dishes looked so appetizing. For dessert with my post-meal coffee, I enjoyed an an-butter croissant that far surpassed similar offerings from a well-known coffee chain—it was absolutely delightful! Concerned about calories, I limited myself to one per day but thoroughly savored every bite. When we returned to the Hotel around 3 PM one afternoon and visited the lounge for tea, they kindly served us cake from their tea set menu in individual portions just for us—a thoughtful gesture that left a lasting impression. The lounge staff were incredibly attentive; their service truly exemplified going above and beyond expectations. I hope to dine at one of the Hotel’s restaurants when my daughter is older. This trip felt like redemption in Hakata as we discovered such an exceptional Hotel where comfort met luxury seamlessly—an experience I'll never forget. It’s definitely a place I'd love to stay again if given another opportunity!

    Not great.

    The Hotel does not feel comfortable. It would be helpful if there were instructions on how to use the Facility. There are too many foreign staff members. The room is too dark to read a guidebook due to the lack of a stand light. The entrance door and toilet door are too heavy. A dressing table with either lighting or a mirror with lights would be appreciated. The water provided in the Room cannot be stored in the refrigerator, which is inconvenient. However, the bed was comfortable and allowed for good sleep.

    No smoking area available.

    There is no smoking area in the restaurant or bar, so I had to go to the smoking space on the second floor of the next building (until 11 PM). When I left an unopened pack of cigarettes in my Room, a letter was slipped under my door stating, "We noticed cigarettes during turndown service... etc." I thought it might be apologizing for the inconvenience due to lack of smoking areas, but instead it said, "Please note that cleaning fees may apply due to odors from bringing in cigarette butts..." Even if it's meant as a warning, am I wrong to think this is extremely rude?

    Stayed for 3 nights ...

    Stayed for 3 nights with access to the Club Lounge. The lounge was spacious, offered a wide variety of dishes, and had six food presentations, making it very enjoyable. Afternoon tea and lunch were more than sufficient, and I ended up overeating during the evening cocktail time. However, it was disappointing that plates were not cleared promptly and there were noticeable differences in service depending on the staff. While some have mentioned this before, I believe the taste at Shangri-La Tokyo's Club Lounge is exceptional. Considering the price point, I feel there’s room for improvement. The Room was spotless as expected. Amenities included Diptyque products and Marvis toothpaste—stylish items that lifted my spirits. That said, using a loofah for body washing felt a bit off... but having a Repronizer 27 hairdryer was a pleasant surprise! The dashi soup from Kayanoya provided in the Room isn’t available for purchase elsewhere—impressive attention to detail! The sweets left after turndown service were also delicious. Overall good experience but fell slightly short of being completely satisfying given the cost involved. After checking out, waiting in a cold first-floor space to retrieve my suitcase due to poor handling left me disappointed at the end of an otherwise nice stay. The inconsistency in staff performance stood out too much. Breakfast desserts like croffles were delightful as well as the red bean butter croissant—it was delicious!

    Kyushu's top-level luxury Hotel

    I took advantage of the three-day weekend in February and stayed for one night since I had Monday off. As expected from a new property, the room and facilities were clean, spacious, and comfortable. I was able to use the pool and gym without any stress, making for a great time without any wasted moments. The menu at the club lounge incorporated elements of Hakata, with high quality, a wide variety, and delicious options. The staff's attention to detail and consideration were pleasant, and I felt a high level of hospitality. I've stayed at other Ritz-Carlton hotels, but I thought Fukuoka was particularly the best. It was a great hotel that made me want to use it again for birthdays or anniversaries.

    Meet the Famous Chef

    I wanted to visit a store called "Viridis" (Uiridisu) and used the stay as well. The dishes were all made with local ingredients, and the seasoning was very well balanced, making them very delicious. Moreover, considering it was a full course, the price was quite reasonable. I think couples would find this place very worthwhile. As for the hotel's service, since it is still a new hotel, they were not fully aware of what was available in the room. The amenities were probably labeled in French, and although there was Japanese, the text was too small to read, so I couldn't tell if it was toothpaste or shaving cream. Other than that, I think it was very good, but my honest opinion is that a weekend stay should be around 70,000 yen per night. However, the bed was very comfortable, and I was able to rest well.

    Thank you for the excellent hospitality.

    Since it is a new Hotel, the Facilities are impeccable, and the cleanliness is well-maintained, allowing for a pleasant stay. The variety of amenities is limited (there were no provided cleansing or lotion products). What is noteworthy is the ultimate hospitality tailored to the guests. They customized breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner for vegans. The quality of the desserts (appearance and taste) was especially impressive, making it hard to believe that no dairy products were used! On the early morning of the Fukuoka Marathon, they prepared rice balls for us, and upon successfully completing the race and returning, we were surprised with a handmade finish line tape and a medal with a handwritten message, which was very touching. I plan to return next year.

    The Facility was new...

    The Facility was new and clean, and the staff were very kind. We enjoyed afternoon tea and breakfast, which were full of Kyushu menu items, making it a wonderful stay and a memorable experience. If I have the opportunity to visit Fukuoka again, I will use this place.
