    A bit disappointing.

    As with spring, we stayed here again this time. Both the Facility and the meals were wonderful, but a few words from the staff left us feeling disappointed. For example, at checkout there wasn’t even a simple “Thank you.” So I suppose that if a guest isn’t a member and booked through a low-priced site, that’s not something you can say. It was very disappointing.

    Fireworks in Your Room

    Thank you very much for your courteous email support even before our stay. Since we used self check-in and check-out, we were unable to thank the Hotel staff in person. We stayed here on a family trip. It had always been my dream to relax at the Hotel and enjoy fireworks while chatting casually with my family, and that dream came true. Now that our children are grown, I wonder how many more summers like this we will be able to spend together. The Atami Fireworks Festival we watched from Hotel Harvest Atami, the delicious buffet, the bath with a wonderful view—these have become precious memories for us. Thank you very much.

    Dinner time was wonderful.

    The views from the Room and the large public bath were wonderful and very relaxing. The pool also had shaded areas, so the children were able to enjoy it for a long time. We had dinner at Japanese restaurant Kiraku, and we were truly impressed by how kindly and friendly the staff who served us treated our children as well. Thank you very much!! We would love to stay here again when we visit Atami.

    The Onsen was amazing—next time, I’d like to stay in a different Room!

    We stayed to coincide with the Atami Fireworks Festival. Watching the fireworks from our Room felt luxurious and was wonderful! On the other hand, the villa’s Rooms with a private Onsen are newer and cleaner. However, I don’t think they face the fireworks… I’d need to confirm with the staff, but next time I’d like to consider that type of Room. The highlights were the Onsen, pool, and buffet. They made great use of local ingredients, and it was many times better than other buffets. The pool is an infinity pool! But it’s so small that it gets extremely crowded, which was disappointing. The Onsen had an ocean view and was very clean; the modern design was fantastic. Service felt minimal and didn’t leave much of an impression, but it’s a Hotel I’d like to visit again.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    We stayed for two nights in a Japanese-Western style Room with an open-air Onsen bath. The Room faced the ocean right in front of us—an amazing location. We were very satisfied with the open-air bath in the Room, the large public bath, and the meals! One disappointing point: we stayed with our grandchild and used the pool twice, but the stairs leading up to the pool from inside the large public bath were slippery, so we had to be very careful. It would be more reassuring if this could be improved. This is a Hotel we would like to stay at again.

    Meals

    I stay here a few times a year. Overall, I am satisfied with the Hotel, but this was my first time having the restaurant course dinner, and in my personal opinion, the taste did not match the price. Other than the meal, I was very satisfied, and I look forward to improvements in the future.

    Enjoyable Onsen and Dining

    I’d been wanting to stay at Harvest Izusan, and the Onsen was great and the food was delicious. However, I was surprised that there were always so many elderly guests in the large public bath. With so many Rooms, it’s only natural that the large public bath gets crowded. I’m glad the sauna wasn’t busy.

    Amazing views!

    Although I stayed in the South Wing with a full ocean view, I checked in after sunset and checked out right after breakfast. I used the buffet for all meals. The roast beef at dinner was excellent. Because everything felt rushed and I couldn’t enjoy the view, I made another Reservation for a day when there will be a fireworks festival. I’m looking forward to it. Next time, I plan to check in earlier and relax while enjoying the view of Sagami Bay.

    Thank you for your kind and attentive service.

    We previously stayed here as a couple and hoped to return someday with our 1-year-9-month-old grandchild, so this time we spent one night together. They kindly answered our questions by email in advance, which allowed us to visit with peace of mind. We arrived earlier than the check-in time, but we were told that our Room was ready and shown in right away. This was a great help, as our grandchild was getting sleepy and could take a relaxing nap in the Room. We chose the buffet for both dinner and breakfast. There were several dishes that even small children could eat, and our grandchild enjoyed them very much. We were also happy that the staff spoke to our grandchild with warm smiles. We were able to enjoy the Onsen together using the open-air bath in our Room, which made for wonderful memories.

    There is room for improvement, but overall I am satisfied.

    Overall, I was satisfied with my stay, but I feel it would be even better if the following two points were improved. I would appreciate it if you could consider them positively. 1. Room odor Immediately after entering the room, I noticed a strong odor similar to body odor. I used deodorizing spray, but it did not fully eliminate the smell, and I was unable to identify the source. I would appreciate it if you could investigate the cause and consider appropriate measures. 2. Wording regarding drinks in the refrigerator There was a note saying, “Please help yourself to the drinks in the refrigerator,” so I checked with that expectation; however, there were only two bottles of mineral water. Since this is something commonly provided at a typical Hotel as well, the gap between the wording and what was actually offered left me somewhat disappointed. Going forward, I would appreciate it if you could either revise the wording or enhance what is provided. Given your excellent location, pleasant staff, and delicious meals, it felt like a real shame. If these two points are improved, I would also like to positively consider registering as a member. I would greatly appreciate your sincere efforts to address these issues.

    An in-room open-air bath with natural hot spring water—simply the best.

    We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath. The Onsen was amazing, straight from the source (deep color and pleasantly salty—rare to find). From the Room, the sea is right in front of you, with nothing blocking the view; the panoramic scenery over Sagami Bay may be the best in Atami. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and compared to other Harvest properties, it felt more adult-oriented and was delicious.

    I watched the sunrise from the open-air bath!

    A large public bath open from 5:00 a.m. I checked the sunrise time and went a little early, but there were even more people than at night, all hoping to see the sunrise. Watching the bright red sun rise over the horizon while looking down at the sea was dazzling. It was a refreshing way to start the day. The open-air bath with an ocean view, delicious meals, and a clean Room—all of it made for a wonderful stay.

    Enjoy the scenery, Onsen, and meals to the fullest.

    We stayed one night in a Room with a private Onsen as a couple. The large public bath seemed to have a steady number of guests from earlier hours, but it was fairly spacious, so we could still relax and enjoy it. The Onsen in the Room was filled each time, and the temperature wasn’t too hot, so we didn’t need to add water. With the partition opened, the view was great, and we enjoyed it right up until checkout. The dinner and breakfast buffets had a moderate selection, but the quality of each item was high and everything was delicious. Personally, I prefer this over an unnecessarily large variety. This may have been a service only for our Room, but we were pleasantly surprised that all drinks in the refrigerator were free, and that thoughtful amenities were provided. Perhaps because it was originally a members-only Facility, the staff were very professional, and we had a comfortable stay. We would love to visit again someday.

    It was a very luxurious accommodation, but newcomers might feel a bit out of place.

    I had gathered information from YouTube beforehand, but this accommodation exceeded my expectations in luxury. Many of the other guests seemed quite wealthy, and it was a very refined hotel. It seems to have originally been a members-only hotel, which I think is great for such individuals, but perhaps they could be a bit kinder to first-time visitors? When we arrived at the hotel, no one came out to greet us, and even when wandering around the lobby, the staff didn’t seem very attentive. When I approached the front desk and spoke up, they said we could proceed with check-in procedures. While we did complete them without issue, I thought it would’ve been nice if they had informed us earlier. The dining times were 5:10 PM, 5:40 PM, and then 7:10 PM—there was no option in the 6 o’clock hour which was quite disappointing... However, the food itself was incredibly delicious with a high-quality buffet. The alcohol prices were extremely expensive—perhaps understandably so—but still quite steep! The room itself was wonderful; however, I couldn’t help but notice stains on the bathroom floor that seemed permanent but still bothered me. It would be nice if it could be cleaned up more thoroughly. For three people during New Year’s holidays at ¥400,000 total (approximately $2,700), naturally our expectations were high as well... There wasn’t much explanation about benefits for becoming a member either—it felt somewhat exclusive for newcomers. That said though—it truly is an amazing hotel!

    The bath is amazing.

    The bathing area, medium-temperature bath, jacuzzi, and open-air bath are spacious, modern, infinity-style, open, and comfortable. However, it was disappointing that some staff seemed a bit careless. During my Multiple Night Stay, the cleaning noise from both neighboring rooms was lively, and there were moments when something hit the wall with a thud. At the breakfast venue, even though it wasn’t yet last order (LO), loud sounds of large pots being cleared from the kitchen echoed through. Explanations about parking usage during check-in and check-out were curtly handled by the doorman; I had to get details from the front desk staff instead. Overall, I felt somewhat unsettled throughout my stay.

    Perfect for solo travelers.

    On a whim the day before, I decided to take a solo trip and made a reservation for one night at Hotel Harvest Atami Izusan, which is featured in TV commercials. I wanted to relax alone in my room and read, so I pre-ordered a takeout steak bento from the hotel for dinner and enjoyed it in my room. When my shoulders felt stiff, I visited the quick massage service within the hotel, which left me feeling refreshed. The ocean view from the room was excellent, and the large public bath was very convenient to use. For breakfast, I enjoyed a buffet meal and was seated at a counter with an ocean view—perhaps because I was alone—which allowed me to relax without any concerns. I also used the bathroom in my room; it had separate areas for the bathtub and washing space. The bathtub was adequately sized with good depth, so I filled it with water for use (though there wasn’t an option for reheating). Although there is shuttle service available to and from the hotel, I chose to walk as part of my exercise routine. There were some ups and downs along the way but overall it felt refreshing. With its proximity via bullet train travel, this accommodation is highly recommended even for solo female travelers!

    First Stay at a Members-Only Club

    Booked without knowing it was a members-only club that also accepts general guests. It was a mistake. It felt like the members' facility management association was taking on general guests as a side business... Far from hospitality or a relaxing stay. No amenities like lotion, just "Enjoy one bottle of water in the fridge." The restaurant staff were at least at an average level. The cost-performance ratio was exceptionally low. Although it said "Shuttle Service available," there were no details about meeting points or times, and early check-in was not allowed either. I happened to talk with a member couple who said they use it as a vacation home where they don't have to clean themselves. IKYU.com, please do better!

    We stayed as a group...

    We stayed as a group of three, including my mother and sister. This was our second time with Harvest, previously in Hakone and this time in Atami. All the staff greeted us with warm smiles and provided attentive service, making our stay very pleasant. The meals were absolutely delicious! Every staff member we encountered—whether passing by in the hallway, inspecting the pool, or assisting us at the restaurant—was friendly and welcoming. Thanks to their hospitality, we had a truly satisfying stay. Thank you so much! We look forward to visiting again. The night view of the pool during our evening stroll was stunning, and although I missed capturing the sunrise on camera, I enjoyed it from your beautiful garden. It was a memorable trip for us!

    A Comfortable Senior Home

    The front desk service needs improvement; when requesting a taxi, the staff seemed rushed to end the conversation quickly. Although IKYU benefits allow for a 2:00 PM check-in, there is no shuttle bus arriving at that time. The Onsen is unavailable from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, making early check-in and late check-out meaningless. There are no advantages even with a Multiple Night Stay. The Plan included breakfast, but the menu was almost identical for two days. The taste was ordinary—mild and catered towards seniors—with nothing particularly delightful or flavorful. The shuttle bus is a city bus, crowded like a commuter bus. The view and Onsen are excellent, and the building design is appealing. While the pool is clean, it’s too small for its capacity and feels overcrowded. There’s nothing around the area, and with limited shuttle schedules (and Onsen cleaning during midday), there’s little to do besides using the overcrowded pool. Unfortunately, operations feel more like those of a senior home than a resort hotel. The guest demographic leans more towards lively individuals rather than elegant ones, resulting in noisy Onsen areas, pools, lobbies, and restaurants. No plans to revisit this property again.

    Grandpa's birthday

    We stayed with my father-in-law, who is about to celebrate his 92nd birthday in 10 days, along with my husband and son. We chose a Room with an open-air bath and wheelchair accessibility within the facility for my father-in-law, whose mobility has recently weakened. We also requested celebratory flowers and a message plate during dinner in advance. Upon arrival, he was delighted by the beautiful view of Atami's sea, especially enjoying the stunning scenery from the open-air bath. He used it three times during our stay as it was easily accessible from the Room via wheelchair. The meals were also satisfying; he particularly enjoyed the sashimi at dinner and chatted happily all the way home in the car. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

    The entire facility offers a luxurious and impeccably clean environment. Spacious sofa seating is thoughtfully placed throughout, allowing guests to relax after a bath or meal while enjoying the ambiance. The sea-facing area on the lobby floor boasts an exceptional location! Additionally, the staff's service was outstanding. Special thanks to the gentlemen at check-in for their kind and patient assistance despite my numerous requests—I am truly grateful. I look forward to staying here again!

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    We stayed at this hotel for a mother-daughter trip. The shuttle service driver, the person who guided us during check-in, the lady at the shop, and the breakfast buffet staff were all polite and greeted us with smiles, which warmed our hearts. The view from the room was wonderful, and the Onsen was clean and relaxing. It became a great memory. Thank you very much.

    At the end of the year, with a family of five,

    Stayed with a family of five at the end of the year. Although there was an image of a fairly luxurious Hotel from the view from the lobby, the Room design and amenities were quite simple. Perhaps because there were many guests, the buffet was crowded and there was a time limit. On the other hand, the outdoor pool, which I didn't have high expectations for, surprisingly had a sense of openness. Even though it was the end of the year, it felt overpriced.

    I would like to repeat my stay...

    We stayed for one night with our child. The Room, pool, and bath were delightful. We had a buffet for dinner and breakfast. As a mother, I found the dinner buffet to be generally tasty and easy to eat, but I would appreciate it if there were more options for children. It's a Hotel I would like to revisit, but the meals are a point of consideration. Thank you very much.

    Trial Stay Impressions

    I stayed for one night in mid-October, but despite the high accommodation fee, amenities and other supplies were lacking. For example, ➀ there was only one green tea bag, and none for the next morning, so I would like black tea to be provided for guests who do not drink green tea or sencha. Also, it would be nice to have at least one complimentary bottle of water for the next day's outing. ② There are two plastic cups, but no cups for brushing teeth or rinsing. ③ There are old plastic slippers, but I would like disposable slippers to be provided as well.
