Maybe the timing wasn’t great...
One night. Although it was a weekday, it was during the Owara Kaze no Bon 2026 period, so the price was higher than usual, and as a result I don’t feel I got satisfaction commensurate with the Accommodation fee. - The location is great—2 minutes on foot from Toyama Station—and having a large public bath is nice (though this may vary by person), but paying over JPY 40,000 per night for a Room with only a shower left me with a poor impression. - Charging for in-Room Wi‑Fi by default feels outdated (Hilton Honors members can use it for free, and you can sign up at check-in without much time or hassle, so it ends up being free). - It seemed that many group guests were staying there, and I also felt that individual guests like myself were treated somewhat dismissively. - About the in-Room cooler box (not a refrigerator): this may sound like an old-fashioned complaint, but the fact that it isn’t actually a refrigerator made me feel an overly hard-nosed cost-cutting/efficiency-first approach typical of Western capitalism.

I have visited Toyam...
I have visited Toyama several times, but this time we chose a hotel near the station because we didn’t have a car and were traveling with a small child. Our family are Hilton members, and we often stay at Hilton properties both overseas (such as in Europe and Hawaii) and in Japan (including Odawara). Even though this is positioned as a reasonably priced, casual-style Business Hotel, it is still Hilton, so I had certain expectations. However, at check-in, the front desk staff strongly insisted that it was Local Payment even though my card details had been registered for payment. When I requested kids’ amenities, they did not seem to understand me either, so my first impression was not good. (The front desk staff member may have been Chinese.) Since I travel frequently, I didn’t press the issue too much. On the first night, when I tried to use the women’s bathhouse, the security code written down by the staff member who guided me at the front desk was incorrect. I couldn’t enter until a male staff member nearby gave me the correct code. He even said, “This is wrong—please complain to the front desk.” The Room itself, amenities, and Western-style breakfast were good (the Japanese breakfast was low quality and disappointing; also one of my favorite parts of staying at a Hotel—the made-to-order omelet—was not very good), so overall we were satisfied in that regard. But during our two-night stay, especially at the front desk there were no smiles and an unfriendly attitude throughout. Perhaps to save time? The lack of helpfulness stood out and made us uncomfortable. Rather than making a complaint for its own sake—and more for service improvement and internal information sharing—I told the front desk at checkout that the bathhouse security code had been incorrect; however, there was no apology. It may have been due to staffing shortages during the Obon holiday period or simply bad timing due to how busy it was. Still, as someone who has repeatedly chosen Hilton in many places until now—even if this is a casual Business Hotel—it did not feel like Hilton at all. I was disappointed by what felt like low professionalism and an unpleasant attitude from some of the front desk staff. Also because we stayed two nights we requested housekeeping service; however there was trash left in the bathroom bin after cleaning. And despite having tea bags and a coffee maker provided in Room , only glass cups were left—an experience I’ve never had before. It may have been an unfortunate seasonally busy period… but as guests we look for comfort when staying overnight. While I would like to continue using other Hilton Hotels in future , when visiting Toyama again , i don’t feel i would return here .

Trouble
In my rush to book online, I accidentally made a Reservation for two instead of three. It was during the Obon holidays and the Hotel was fully booked, but I truly appreciate how quickly you helped resolve the issue. Thank you very much.

Great.
The location is great. The breakfast was delicious, and the Room was modern and comfortable. The loungewear had nice colors, looked stylish, and felt relaxing. What I didn’t like was that the bath area was extremely crowded and there was a line. I had to wait a long time. The bath area was small, and the water was slightly lukewarm. It seems Wi‑Fi can’t be used unless you become a Hotel member, and I don’t like that kind of system. At check-in, the guidance felt unhelpful. Still, overall I think it’s a Hotel worth staying at again, and my satisfaction level is high.

Overall, I am satisfied.
Overall, everything was great—the location, the Room amenities, the public bath, and the staff service. We also enjoyed Toyama’s delicious water from the water dispensers on each floor. If I had to mention one thing, around 08:00 the breakfast dining area was very crowded, and since our table was near the entrance, there was a lot of foot traffic and it was hard to eat at a relaxed pace. I expect this could be avoided by going earlier.

DoubleTree by Hilton...
DoubleTree by Hilton Toyama offers an affordable stay under the Hilton brand. If you do not mind the lack of a view and on-site parking, its convenient location near the station, breakfast, and guest-only bath are satisfactory. We also hope to see further improvements in service operations.

Foreign tourists are noisily eating in the entrance area.
I was frustrated that staff did nothing even though foreign tourists were eating in the entrance area, talking loudly, and making speakerphone calls. As it’s a foreign-owned hotel, I assumed there would always be English-speaking staff who would firmly remind guests who don’t follow basic manners, but that didn’t seem to be the case. Every time I passed through the entrance, it left me feeling disappointed. Also, when getting into the elevator, many guests didn’t follow proper flow in the corridor and I nearly collided with them. Many foreign tourists are quite large, and if they were to bump into a Japanese guest it could easily lead to a serious injury. The room was clean and well maintained, but the peephole cover was misaligned and essentially useless. It made me feel disappointed that the building must have been poorly constructed.

Drying Room
The meals were very delicious. It’s conveniently located near the station, and they also stored our luggage so we could go sightseeing on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route.

A new and spotless Hotel
Perhaps because it’s part of the Hilton group, it was a bit pricey, but the property was new and very comfortable. It’s close to the station, and there are izakayas and convenience stores nearby, so you won’t have trouble finding something to eat. There is also a large public bath, and it was great that you can go in loungewear and slippers. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, including a live omelet station, and everything was delicious. The only disappointment was that the bidet nozzle in the Room toilet was dirty. Please make sure to clean it every time!

A comfortable, eco-friendly stay with no waste
Right in front of Toyama Station, with a Lawson convenience store next door and many restaurants nearby, it was a very convenient location. The amenities were minimal, and I could sense an eco-friendly approach, which felt comfortable for me since I usually bring my own items. As it is a new Facility, it was clean and I had a comfortable stay. The rain shower was pleasant, and it was also convenient that I could check how crowded the public bath was on the TV (I didn’t use it this time, but I’d definitely like to try it next time). If anything, the parking lot is a little far away, but I didn’t mind since I could walk there while browsing around the shopping mall.

Conveniently located near the station.
Conveniently located near the station, with a Lawson convenience store right next door. Many Rooms seem to be shower-only, but since there was availability, I was able to upgrade to a Room with a bathtub for an additional fee at check-in. There is a public bath and a gym on the 4th floor. It has a cooler box rather than a refrigerator. No coffee machine. On lower floors, you can hear the tram right in front of the building. There were many guests from Greater China, but it was relatively quiet and I could relax comfortably.

I used this Hotel as a base to visit the Tateyama Alpine Route.
The hotel is new and clean, and considering the price, it seemed reasonable. However, there were a few disappointing aspects. I used the public bath as it was available, but I had to wait in line for a locker and then wait again for a washing area once inside the bathroom... It was quite frustrating! It was crowded on both days. While guests can use the public bath, it might be worth mentioning that it can be small and crowded at times. I appreciated being able to store my luggage until my check-in or departure time—it was very helpful. For lunch, I visited the coffee shop next to the lobby. However, the staff member managing it alone gave off an unfriendly vibe as if questioning why I came there—it was shockingly unwelcoming. While other staff members were pleasant, this one interaction left me disappointed.

The Facility is new and clean, with the added convenience of being close to the station. However, it is disappointing that the quality of the staff is low.

The public bath was disappointing.
The welcome cookie was delicious. It was the same cookie as the one I had at a Hilton in Los Angeles, bringing back fond memories. Unfortunately, the room was smaller than expected. There were no bottled water provided in the room, so I had to go to a convenience store to buy some. This was the first time I stayed at an accommodation where water service wasn't available. The washing area in the public bath was narrow, and the wooden wash buckets and stools were slimy and heavy, making them difficult to move. The surface of the bathwater rippled for some reason, giving me a seasick feeling that made it hard to relax and soak properly. The wooden pouring buckets were also slimy and heavy, making them inconvenient to use; no one seemed to be using them either. The lockers were extremely small and crowded—disappointing! As someone who loves Hilton hotels and frequently stays at Hilton Tokyo Odaiba as my standard comparison point, this experience fell short by comparison—truly disappointing!

Warm and welcoming hospitality
I visited Toyama for the first time and chose this accommodation simply because it was close to the station, without any expectations. However, it turned out to be a very good hotel. When I arrived at the hotel in the early afternoon and went to the front desk just to leave my luggage, they kindly offered me a room that was already available. Thanks to this, I could relax in my room before heading out for sightseeing on such a hot day, which was truly appreciated. The staff provided warm and pleasant service during breakfast as well. I really enjoyed Toyama and would love to visit again frequently, and I will definitely stay at this hotel every time!

Everything except the large public bath meets expectations.
Overall, the service and facilities meet the standards expected of the Hilton name. However, the only disappointment was the public bath. Its size was small relative to the number of rooms, resulting in queues at the washing area. I now understand why each room's large monitor displayed real-time congestion information for the public bath.

What a lovely smile.
It was a one-night stay. The staff at the breakfast venue were truly cheerful and welcoming, which was wonderful. I believe it is an international Hotel, but I could catch a glimpse of Japanese hospitality there. I ventured out prepared for disruptions in transportation, but since the day started on such a positive note, I had no unpleasant experiences afterward. Thank you very much. My gratitude to everyone.

Great location.
Great location. Close to the station, with a convenience store and restaurants nearby, making it ideal for those who start their day early. Breakfast is available from 6 AM and was lively even in the early hours. When I inquired about amenities during check-in, I was informed they were available in the public bath. However, neither the public bath nor the Room had lotion or moisturizer. Upon asking at the front desk, I learned these items are provided upon request at reception. Perhaps I should have specifically asked if lotion and moisturizer were available beforehand, but this was a slight downside for me. Overall, considering its location and price, I am satisfied with my stay.

The elevator is not arriving.
Around 8 AM, the elevator did not arrive for 25 minutes. The elevator doors on the accommodation floor opened only three times, and only when someone was getting off. It was full, so even one person could not get on. Other than that, it either passed by or the doors did not open at all. When I contacted the front desk from the phone in the elevator hall, they said there were no stairs and we had to wait for the elevator. They mentioned that a group (from overseas) was checking out at that time. A bus for this group was parked in front of the entrance. If it is known that a large group is checking out, I wonder if there could be measures such as having hotel staff use one of the two elevators to prioritize other guests instead of leaving both elevators occupied by groups. This is my first experience with a hotel where elevators take so long to arrive. My plan to have breakfast outside got disrupted. Since this hotel is located right near a station, most people wouldn’t expect such delays with elevators; those catching trains might have missed them due to this issue. Although it’s a new and comfortable accommodation overall, my impression remains as "the hotel where elevators didn’t come."

Popular among international tour groups
When 2-3 buses arrive, the front desk becomes very crowded. If the tour company and the hotel work together to have guests disembark from the buses in order and check in, it might go more smoothly. This way, tour guests won't get tired of waiting at the front desk, and it won't inconvenience other accommodation guests either. Traveling abroad can be exhausting after all.

How to Use the Public Bath
I visited the large public bath, but there were too many people entering the changing area wearing indoor slippers, which was very unpleasant, so I ended up using the shower in my Room. Other aspects were satisfactory. I appreciated the cookies provided at check-in, and the Room was clean and comfortable. While this may be an issue on the guest side, I hope it can be addressed promptly as I would like to use your services again.

Close to the station
The proximity to Toyama Station is the best. The Room is clean, and the bedding is good. If I had to say, the bed height feels high for me as a Japanese person, but I feel this at many Hotels recently. Great location and cleanliness—very satisfied.

Service is provided by our staff.
The facility is very clean, reasonably priced, and excellent. The breakfast offers a wide variety of dishes and is highly satisfying. This was my second stay coming from Tokyo! However, one disappointing aspect was the staff's response. I felt unwell during the night while staying with a preschooler, so I called the front desk in the morning as a last resort to ask, "I’m feeling sick; do you have any anti-nausea medication?" The response was, "We’re sorry, but we don’t provide any medication." It felt like I was speaking to AI. In the end, I had to search for a drugstore or clinic myself and went to see a doctor... Having worked in customer service myself before, even if following strict rules is necessary, it would have been better if they had at least asked if I was okay or provided guidance on nearby pharmacies. Without that kind of support, an AI phone system would suffice. When leaving my luggage as well, one female staff member responded with an expressionless face like a mask; perhaps it’s just her service that needs improvement.

I will stay here again when I come to Toyama.
It's very clean overall. The Room and the bath are nice. Breakfast is sufficient. Above all, the cleaning staff and everyone else greeted us politely, which was pleasant. I used it for an exam at Toyama University, and they provided various things like a desk lamp rental, which was helpful.

It was a very satisfying stay.
Close to the station and new, the room was modern but not too dark, allowing for relaxation. The explanation during check-in was easy to understand while looking at the documents, and I received a warm cookie. Recently, many places confirm information verbally or through the room's TV, but having paper is helpful. The bed was comfortable, the chair was pleasant to sit on, and the glasses, jugs, bathroom cups, and mirrors were all stylish, making me wonder where I could buy such tasteful items. For a hotel, the bathhouse was large, with a spacious changing room, sauna, and cold bath. I was delighted that the water server in the hallway offered unlimited delicious Tateyama water, and since I am sensitive to caffeine, I was thrilled to find decaffeinated coffee and herbal tea in the room, as well as decaffeinated coffee and tea in the restaurant. The plan included dinner and breakfast, and the meals were delicious, especially the seafood bowl, fresh salad, and fruits for breakfast, which lifted my spirits from the morning. If I may say, it would have been nice to have a body wash towel for use in the bath. The staff were very pleasant, and I had a comfortable stay. Thank you very much.

The hotel is close to the station and clean. The staff's response is excellent, and the room has a calm interior, allowing for a relaxing stay. However, the only downside is that the bath (large public bath) closes too early. After sightseeing or dining out, I couldn't use it at night. It's a selfish complaint, though. I would like to visit again when I go to Toyama.
