It was a truly wonderful stay. The Room was very comfortable, and the surrounding scenery and atmosphere were excellent, allowing us to relax and enjoy a pleasant time. It made for a lovely day. We would definitely like to visit again.

A dog-friendly Hotel with outstanding dining.
I was looking for a Hotel around Lake Toya where I could stay with my dog, and chose this Hotel— it was truly an outstanding experience. Both breakfast and dinner were exceptionally delicious, and I was completely satisfied. The facilities were clean and modern, and all the staff were wonderful. The only thing I noticed was that although you should be able to enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Toya from the bath, the outside view was blocked for privacy reasons. That part was a little disappointing. Other than that, everything was perfect, and we had a very comfortable stay with our dog. I would love to visit again!

Summer Vacation for a Family of Three + Dog
We stayed for one night with three family members and our dog. The property is still fairly new, having opened about four years ago, and the Room and bath were clean and well maintained. There seemed to be slightly fewer staff, perhaps to keep labor costs down, but I agree with the policy of keeping staffing lean while investing in other areas. Dinner featuring Hokkaido ingredients tasted excellent overall, though the sashimi quality was average. The breakfast buffet was great! The unique smoothies and the Japanese set meal with salmon really felt like Hokkaido.

First, the Tsuruga Group
This was my first stay at a Tsuruya Group Accommodation I’d been curious about for a long time. The meals were even better than expected, and the Facility had a unique character that made the stay truly enjoyable. The sofa seating around the campfire area, where you take off your shoes before stepping up, was especially relaxing.

An Elegant Hotel Stay
I stayed in a Room with a private open-air bath and a view of Lake Toya. The hallway turns into tatami flooring partway through, giving it a distinctly Japanese feel, while the Room itself is Western-style—stylish designer architecture that even a non-expert can appreciate. It made for an extraordinary Hotel stay. Dinner was Japanese cuisine served as a course meal in a private dining room. When I asked to see the wine list because I wanted wine, I was surprised by how extensive it was. A sommelier also came by and selected Japanese wines that paired well with the dishes. The pairing of wine and food was excellent. Breakfast was a Western-style restaurant buffet with plenty of variety, and everything was delicious. They even brought freshly cooked rice in the pot straight to our table so we could enjoy it piping hot. The staff greeted us everywhere, which felt very welcoming. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing, elegant, and luxurious Hotel stay. I’d love to return again when I visit Otaru.

We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
The views were amazing, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. A Hotel I’d love to visit again.

On my first stay, both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious.
This was my first stay here. The Room was spacious and spotless, and above all, the food was delicious. Dinner was casual French cuisine, and breakfast was a main plate plus a buffet... There were so many dishes that it felt impossible to try everything. You can immediately tell they use fresh ingredients; everything looked beautifully presented, and the staff who served us had wonderful smiles. I felt this Hotel is thorough in every detail. The meals were the best I’ve ever had. There was also an area for light exercise, with equipment such as a treadmill and balance balls. For this stay, we chose a Room without an open-air bath... So the shared large public bath didn’t offer much of a view and felt small—this was probably the only downside. Also, there didn’t seem to be much guidance on bath etiquette for international guests; many people entered while carrying their bath towels... It left me with mixed feelings. It’s a very lovely place, but if you’re visiting mainly for the Onsen experience, it might be difficult.

Staying at Lake Toya again after a long time
We stayed as a couple. The Room had an open-air bath, and the water temperature was just right, so we really enjoyed it. We gave it 4 stars because the razor included in the amenities was not very sharp, but the service and staff support were top-class even compared with other Tsuruga Group properties. Even right after Golden Week, it was quiet and relaxing, and this has become one of the Accommodations we would like to stay at again.

The Japanese cuisine was exceptionally delicious.
I loved the modern Room with a nook, and this was my second visit in several years. Last time I came in summer and found dead insects collecting in the drain of the private open-air bath in the guest Room, which was very unpleasant. This time I visited in winter and looked forward to it, assuming that wouldn’t happen. However—this time there was an extremely strong chlorine smell! It clung to my skin like after getting out of a swimming pool. It was just overwhelming... Because I have sensitive skin, I suffered from itching for several days... That said, the large public bath is too hot for me, so I ended up using the private open-air bath in the guest Room anyway. There was no chlorine smell at all last time—what happened? The Onsen in the guest Room is a key part of the trip for me, so I would really like to see this improved. I’ve pointed out some negatives, but everything else is excellent. Since the living area and bedroom are separate, I can get ready in the morning without waking my husband, and thanks to proper blackout curtains we can sleep in as well. As before, we had a Japanese course dinner this time too, and every dish was delicious again. The staff were kind as well; even though working abroad must come with many challenges including language barriers, their warm hospitality and wonderful smiles made our stay truly memorable. As this is part of the Uta series there are no complimentary drinks in the fridge or lounge service, but they are available for a fee so it wasn’t an issue at all. Just like last time, the fantastic Paraguayan harp performance was still there—I enjoyed it until the very end. I was also happy to receive lovely sweets as a Diamond member benefit. Other than the chlorine smell from the private open-air bath in our guest Room, everything was nearly perfect—so please do consider improving that point.

An accommodation where you pay 60,000 yen per person and are "left alone".
As the conclusion of a 4-day, 3-night trip to Hokkaido, I made this reservation with high expectations, as it is part of the same Tsuruga Group as "Hina no Za," where I previously stayed and was very satisfied. 【Room & Facility】 The room was spacious and well-cleaned. The private open-air bath in the room was not free-flowing but had ample space and provided a comfortable experience. 【Dining】 Dinner was comparable to French cuisine in Tokyo, with satisfying presentation, taste, and staff service overall. 【Service】 While there were moments of somewhat manual-like responses from staff, it wasn’t unpleasant. Cleaning staff also greeted us warmly when passing by, leaving a good impression. 【Disappointing Points】 The evaluation changed drastically during breakfast service. While dishes on neighboring tables were cleared promptly, ours—neatly placed at the edge—were left untouched. Water refills were provided for others but not for us; we were ignored throughout. Even upon leaving the dining area, there wasn’t so much as a farewell greeting from staff. Paying approximately 60,000 yen per person for such clear neglect (being ignored) is unprecedented for me—it left an indescribable feeling of having paid money only to be treated unpleasantly (though I’ve had dissatisfaction before without feeling uncomfortable). To prevent recurrence on my end personally, I will refrain from using Tsuruga Group accommodations in the future. It’s unfortunate because while the price isn’t low and attracted good clientele overall—it could have been an excellent accommodation otherwise.

It was excellent.
I once stayed near Lake Akan and had a wonderful experience, so this time I returned to Tsuruga Resort after a long time. The Facility, staff, and meals were all excellent and very satisfying. If I had to mention something, the large public bath was cold while washing, and the barking of dogs from the lower floor in the evening and morning was quite noisy. This time I stayed in the West Wing, so next time I would like to stay in the East Wing.

It was excellent.
The facility was very clean and stylish. However, you need to take off your shoes on the accommodation floor, which can be inconvenient if you're wearing hard-to-remove shoes. That said, they provide Crocs-like footwear for walking inside the building. Please note that you will need to change into these each time. I really loved the quality of the onsen in the private open-air bath in our room. The meals were casual French cuisine, and every dish was consistently delicious. The plates varied uniquely with each dish, showing great attention to detail. The presentation of the food was visually delightful as well. For breakfast, you can choose between Japanese or Western-style mains. It’s a half-buffet with plenty of variety and was excellent overall. While some hotels use overly flattering photos taken from perfect angles, all photos used here genuinely reflect the actual facility without exaggeration. The room was lovely and practical—highly recommended accommodation. Living in Kanto, I thought visiting Lake Toya once in my life would be enough, but I now want to return just for this place. Personally recommended!

I had a relaxing stay. I would love to visit again in a different season.
The garden facing Lake Toya was well-maintained, making it a pleasant place for a stroll, even in early autumn. The time spent in the lounge listening to the harp after arrival was enjoyable, and both the bath and meals, made with local ingredients, were delicious. The casual French dinner was more than sufficient for older guests, and perhaps a slightly smaller portion might be better for seniors. The breakfast, with fresh salads and smoothies, was also very tasty. I would love to visit again in spring or winter.

Wonderful Accommodation
The Room was wonderful, and the open-air bath in the center of the spacious deck—and the view from it—were outstanding. Both dinner and breakfast were elaborate and delicious; we were completely satisfied with this Accommodation. We also appreciate the thoughtful hospitality of all the staff.

We have become fans of Tsuruga Resort (family of 4 + our dog).
Welcome amenities (such as wine beverages, bath towels, glasses cleaning), dinner (prosciutto, cheese), and a complimentary bar. Unexpected services brought joy to the entire family. The Facility was very clean, and we were soothed by Ainu art displayed throughout. We were also impressed by the staff's courteous behavior and their professionalism, such as their attentive presence in the hallways. Our whole family expressed a desire to stay again. Thank you very much!

The ultimate extraordinary experience!
Well-maintained Facility, a serene atmosphere blending seamlessly with the nature of Lake Toya, delicious meals, and a relaxing escape from the ordinary. The only disappointment was that dining with our dog was not allowed, but we hope this will be improved in the future. Definitely planning to return!

Highly Satisfied
The Room was clean and comfortable. The meals were stylish in appearance and delicious. In the lounge, we enjoyed free drinks while listening to harp music. The benefits for Diamond members were excellent, and I also received a birthday gift from the Hotel, making it a very satisfying and enjoyable trip! I would love to stay again!

It was an accommodation I would like to visit again.
I had a very relaxing and luxurious time. On the first day, I checked in early, enjoyed the beautiful view from the room, climbed the path of light to admire the sunset scenery, and sipped cocktails by the fire at the bar. Every spot in this accommodation was comfortable. The staff's warm hospitality made my stay even more pleasant, and I would love to visit again.

The ultimate refresh!
I stayed here again after a year, and the service has improved even more. The weather was great, and the view from the room was fantastic! The blueberries and haskap berries in the pots had grown a bit since last year, making the garden look more vibrant. Both dinner and breakfast were of high quality, especially the breakfast buffet, which was full of originality. Everything I tried was delicious, and combined with the view, it felt like top-notch quality! The staff were very pleasant, making this accommodation one I definitely want to stay at again. Thank you for your thoughtful gesture for my birthday! If I may suggest one thing: having cold bottled tea or small canned beers in the room's refrigerator would be a delightful touch after enjoying the private open-air bath. As for the public bathhouse, while the sauna is excellent, I found that the open-air bath felt slightly cramped. Thank you once again for taking care of us this summer!

We stayed with the Longevity Plan for a 60th birthday celebration. The celebratory kaiseki meal was all delicious, and the children's meal for our grandchild was the most luxurious we've ever had. We splurged on a special room for the occasion, and without saying anything, it was further upgraded—thank you very much! It became a truly wonderful memory. We've stayed at various Tsuruga Resorts before, and we would love to visit Lake Toya again.

I was able to relax.
I stayed for a multiple night stay. The French dinner was very delicious, and the half-buffet breakfast was also very good. The public bath is not very large, but since there are many rooms with open-air baths, it didn't bother me much. It was a bit disappointing that the women's and men's baths were fixed. It would have been better if they alternated daily. There aren't many tourist attractions around, so some might find it a bit boring during the winter. It would be nice to have some events inside the property. The free drinks while listening to live music were very nice. The accommodation fee is a bit high, but it's well worth it.

This was my second stay, but...
I used the facility shortly after it opened and decided to stay again this time, but honestly, it was disappointing. Given the soaring prices, it's unrealistic to expect the same level as the opening a year and a half ago for the same price range, but still, the meals were disappointing. My companion ordered draft beer, and I ordered a half bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling wine, but there was no wine cooler provided, and it was just placed on the table, which was surprising. It's not bottled beer. It became warm during the meal. The half-buffet breakfast looked sufficient in terms of appearance and variety, but the overall taste had declined. The miso soup tasted so thin that I wondered if they even used dashi. It might have been a mistake in preparation, but encountering it once was disappointing. It was the first time I left miso soup unfinished. The salmon fillet was large, but the taste was... Despite all this, the room was comfortable, and although the hot spring in the room seemed to be circulated, it was good water, and I was able to relax and enjoy the bath in the room.

Meals
Even Hokkaido residents stay here, so I felt that the ingredients should be treated with a bit more care. I was disappointed to see that the dish that came out first was lined with red beans. The flounder from Funka Bay didn't have a firm texture, which was concerning. The saury also retained a fishy smell, which might be unpleasant for those who dislike it. In that case, it might be better to opt for saury or carpaccio with a twist without forcing it. I also wondered about piling various things on the breakfast bread. The Japanese rice was delicious, but I couldn't finish it, which felt wasteful.

It is a relaxing inn.
Time seemed to pass slowly, and I was able to relax very much. The room's size, cleanliness, and the open-air bath were all perfect. However, since it was a room on the first floor, I felt the view was a bit disappointing.
