    She was all smiles.

All the staff had wonderful smiles, the art-filled space was relaxing, and the food was excellent—our child was smiling the whole time. We thought it would be even better if children could stay together in a wider variety of Rooms. It became a great summer memory.

    For a memorable anniversary

We stayed with the IKYU Anniversary Plan. Staying at the “Cross Wall House,” we fully enjoyed Shigeru Ban’s architecture, took a quiet stroll through the gardens after the museum closed, and spent a truly luxurious time. They replied quickly to our pre-stay inquiry emails, and during our stay it felt like information was properly shared between the villa and restaurant staff, so we felt at ease throughout. We were especially touched by the warm hospitality—such as a staff member who patiently tried different ways to take photos for our anniversary dinner. At the restaurant, we could enjoy not only wine but also Hiroshima sake, and the sommelier provided detailed explanations, which delighted my sake-loving husband. The next morning we made an effort to wake up early, and the purplish sunrise we saw from our Room balcony is still unforgettable. Thank you very much for arranging such a wonderful anniversary for us.

    It was wonderful.

I stayed at Kilstick House A. It was wonderful. First of all, I was truly happy to receive fresh welcome fruit! It felt much better after a long journey than sweets. I heard one air conditioner was out of order, but thanks to your thoughtful care, I stayed cool and comfortable. All the windows could be opened wide, and I fully enjoyed the space that felt connected to the outdoors. The hospitality was comfortable—attentive without being overbearing. The layout also offered a special sense of exclusivity for guests, with excellent spacing and design so I never had to worry about other guests’ privacy either. The step-up entryway and wooden flooring were also great. Since it’s not very relaxing to put sneakers back on after wearing them all day, it would have been even better if there were sandals available for an evening walk, if possible. The garden was lovely as well—the flowers were beautiful. I imagine maintaining such a garden in midsummer must take a lot of time and effort. Breakfast wasn’t overly elaborate—just simply delicious. I also appreciated having a hair iron. Even though I traveled far, there were none of the usual inconveniences—you can live as you normally do, yet enjoy the luxury of spending an evening alongside an art museum. Next time, I’d love to visit in winter. Thank you very much for everything.

    It was wonderful.

The architecture and spatial design were stunning, making the stay itself a truly special experience. The meals focused on locally sourced ingredients, and dinner was highly satisfying. However, breakfast felt a bit overpriced for what was offered. The stone-lined bath had a great atmosphere, but it took some time to fill with hot water, which was slightly inconvenient. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and I was impressed by how they described even bad weather positively as “a landscape like an ink painting.” Overall, despite a few minor points, it was a wonderful stay that really resonated with the senses.

    I finally had the ch...

I finally had the chance to stay at the “world’s most beautiful museum,” which I’d been wanting to visit someday. Just as I’d hoped, the architecture was fascinating, and being able to admire the beautifully illuminated moving exhibition rooms at night is something you can truly enjoy only by staying overnight. Not only was the Room itself wonderful, but there were also many thoughtful touches in the amenities and in-room items that made me excited—Neal’s Yard amenities and the drinks in the refrigerator, for example—and I enjoyed every detail. Including the Shuttle Service, all of the staff were professional, and I had a very comfortable stay. The cuisine is French-style; it was gently seasoned and delicious. Personally, I wasn’t particularly interested in the museum’s exhibitions themselves, but that didn’t matter—I was still able to fully enjoy the extraordinary experience of “staying inside art.”

    Sleep

I usually sleep in complete darkness, so it was disappointing that outside lights came in at night and made it hard to sleep.

    Shimo-se Art Museum

I had wanted to visit the Simose Art Museum for a long time, and then I saw on TV that you can stay overnight. Since it was a great opportunity, I decided to stay and fully enjoy it, and this time I stayed here. The museum was wonderful and truly impressive, but the Room was even better than I had imagined. The staff were incredibly kind, the food was excellent, and I felt excited throughout my stay. The museum after closing hours was also beautiful, and from the bottom of my heart I’m glad I chose to stay overnight.

An Accommodation Close to Perfect After a Long Time

Staying inside an art museum was a truly wonderful experience, exceeding expectations. The service, cleanliness, hospitality, meals, and facilities were all excellent. It seems reservations might be hard to secure, but I would love to visit again.

    Luxurious and attentive service

I visited with a friend who was excited about exploring museums, and we were truly satisfied. Each staff member provided excellent hospitality. The museum, garden, restaurant, and cottages were all remarkable as architectural works. The nighttime illumination was stunning, making us feel like we had the entire place to ourselves. The meals were delicious—I regret forgetting to take photos! I would love to visit again in a different season.

The Room was comfortable with a fantastic view, and the food was absolutely delicious, making our stay thoroughly enjoyable. Since the next day was a closed day, we informed in advance about arriving slightly earlier, and not only the parking but also the Room was prepared early for us, which was very helpful. All the staff were courteous and pleasant in their service—thank you very much!

    The Ultimate Seaside Villa

Enjoy stunning views of the Seto Inland Sea from anywhere in the Facility. The cuisine, supervised by OZAWA, along with the ambiance, food, and staff, is exceptional. The art museum is also highly impressive. The Villa offers complete privacy with a high level of perfection in its bath, bed, and sofa. All-inclusive Rooms featuring a wine cellar are rare to find. Sipping wine while listening to the sound of waves under a starry night sky was truly unforgettable.

    A One-of-a-Kind Experience

Immersed in art, I enjoyed an exceptional stay. The attentiveness of the restaurant staff was particularly remarkable; they showed great care for my upset stomach, leaving me touched by both the extraordinary experience and the warmth of Japanese hospitality. The water villa was comfortable, with reflections of light and a sense of openness that felt truly cleansing. Shigeru Ban's architecture, the art pieces, gardens, cuisine, Shuttle Service—everything made it a perfect Hotel.

Seto Inland Sea and Art Museums

The purpose of our trip was to visit the art museum, but staying at the villa turned out to be the perfect choice. We felt refreshed by watching the sea from the terrace and seeing the sunrise over Itsukushima. At the restaurant, staff shared information about guests, and we enjoyed conversations, such as when they mentioned how we adjusted our stay dates to match an exhibition change at the museum. Both dinner and breakfast featured delicious local ingredients. The art museum and villa feel like one entity. Staying here allows you to truly appreciate both their beauty and charm. After dinner, we enjoyed exclusive access to the nighttime Ocean View Terrace for guests only, gazed at Seto Inland Sea under night skies, strolled through Émile Gallé’s garden, and admired both nighttime and morning views of the art museum—an experience unique to staying guests. We hope to visit again when the landscaping has matured further—though reservations might become harder by then!

Paradise Plan by Shigeru Ban and Kenya Hara

The facility resonates with the design of Mr. Hara and Ban Architecture. The building, with its mirrored exterior, seems to almost disappear into its surroundings. The rooms are meticulously designed down to the smallest details, including furnishings. With an auberge and one of the most beautiful (private) art museums in the world on-site, this accommodation is truly exceptional. The reception and accommodation buildings, uniquely designed by Shigeru Ban starting from structural design, are incredibly open—perfect for staying during seasons without mosquitoes or insects. Please be cautious not to walk into the glass walls in the bathroom (or maybe that's just me!). One request: please clearly indicate that access to the restaurant lounge is limited to all-inclusive guests only.

    Exceptional service guaranteed!

The night view, visible only from the restaurant at the accommodation, is breathtaking. After breakfast, we were recommended a stunning photo spot reflecting the morning sun, which was truly moving. As someone involved in architecture, I tend to notice fine details, but everything was thoughtfully designed and visually pleasing. Being an art museum auberge, the dishes were as beautiful as paintings. The course menu offered various choices to suit individual preferences. My wife mentioned her tea was slightly bitter, but it was still delicious overall! Regarding the room, having a chair in the bathroom and amenities like lotion would make it even more comfortable! Not only did they provide shuttle service from the nearest station upon arrival, but after checkout—when we mentioned our plan to store luggage at Shin-Iwakuni Station lockers before visiting Kintaikyo Bridge—they kindly offered a ride via Shin-Iwakuni Station to Kintaikyo Bridge since their schedule allowed for it at that time. At checkout, they even prepared a birthday gift for my wife—a thoughtful gesture that deeply touched us. We enjoyed our stay beyond expectations. Thank you very much!

    Shimose Art Museum Tour

One of the purposes of this trip was to visit the Shimose Art Museum. Although the price felt a bit high, I was fully satisfied with the service, facilities, and hospitality. After sightseeing in Hiroshima City, there was a shuttle service from Shin-Iwakuni Station to the museum provided by the front staff. During the 30-40 minute journey, they explained about the town's features, an overview of the museum, and its establishment history. This made efficient use of time and allowed for enjoyable conversations with staff. The concept of a mobile art museum is quite unique and fun. The colorful exterior offered different atmospheres during daytime, evening, and nighttime. After closing hours for general visitors, I could repeatedly explore areas like gardens at my leisure—this was truly enjoyable. The room provided a relaxing space where I could enjoy complimentary drinks while admiring ocean views—a thoroughly satisfying experience. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent French cuisine that left me feeling full and contented. The light snacks before dinner were also delightful for refreshing myself beforehand. While having an Onsen would have been even better, overall it was an extremely enjoyable trip where I could unwind completely!

    It was my first visi...

It was my first visit, and I was very satisfied with the museum and Hotel. Although the access was not ideal, the Shuttle Service was excellent, even taking us to Nishikawaguchi Station, for which we were very grateful. The only slight disappointment was that the museum's exhibits were limited to contemporary art. However, the ocean view scenery and restaurant meals were absolutely satisfying. I would definitely like to visit again!

    Shimose Art Museum

I visited with high expectations after hearing about the SIMOSE ART GARDEN VILLA, designed by a world-renowned architect. The architecture and garden were beautiful. The meals were delicious as well. Surrounded by nature, I felt refreshed. However, the accommodation fee for the villa was quite high, and I personally wasn't very interested in the museum exhibits, so it might not be a place I'd visit twice as an average person. For those like us who don't own a vacation home, it could be a nice way to experience that feeling. Since it's rich in nature, it might not be suitable for people who dislike insects; various bugs do enter indoors. The interior of the villa was comfortable but seemed like it would require significant maintenance over time. It’s still relatively new now and thus comfortable, but I wonder how things will hold up in a few years' time...

It was nice to have ...

It was nice to have a Shuttle Service from Shin-Iwakuni, but since there is nothing around, you will only be able to relax at the Property. Since it is not an Onsen, I feel that it might be difficult for repeat visits. There are buildings with different concepts, so I think architecture enthusiasts can enjoy them. With an art museum attached as well, we enjoyed our 2-day stay! The food was said to be delicious; while it wasn't outstandingly so, it was ordinarily tasty. The service was good. A corner of the restaurant serves as a lounge where you can tell them what you'd like to drink and they serve alcohol and snacks in a unique style which was nice. Since the pajamas were not pants-style, my bottom got cold... I think pants-style is necessary!

    Wonderful stay

Despite the cold and rainy arrival day, we had a wonderful time at this Hotel. The accommodation package included breakfast, dinner, lounge access at the restaurant, and free admission to the museum. The individual villas were very comfortable and well-stocked with a complimentary minibar. As hotel guests, we enjoyed having the museum, gardens, and restaurant almost to ourselves in the early morning or late night before other tourists arrived or after they left. We especially appreciated the thoughtful and warm hospitality of the hotel staff. Despite the cold and rain, they kindly provided shuttle service between the restaurant, villas, and reception with a golf cart. We would love to come again.

What you seek in a journey is here.

I visited for the first time for a one-night, two-day stay. The location was wonderful. There is an ocean, a lovely art museum, and relaxing properties and restaurants. It takes about 15 minutes by shuttle service from the station, but they come to pick you up, so it's not a problem. All the staff were pleasant. They provided shuttle service from the entrance to my villa with the property's card and shared interesting stories about nearby sightseeing spots and this facility during that time, which made it an enjoyable experience as well. It's decided; I will visit again! It's a recommended property.

    I felt relaxed.

The comfort level skyrocketed when we opted for a spacious Room. We were able to relax and unwind... The bath was also easy to use, which was great. However, the front desk service was not quite smooth. There was no information about the reopening of the Night Museum, and we only heard about it from the service staff during breakfast the next morning, which was quite disappointing. If we had been informed at check-in, we would have gone... One more thing. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, are always very delicious. However... The tea is terrible... It's so bad that it always ruins the end of the meal, which is disappointing. It has no aroma or taste. I think it's unacceptable to have a teabag (with this quality of meal) at the end. I hope they either switch to tea leaves or change the brand if they must use teabags.

I was able to spend a luxurious time as a reward for myself.

I had a wonderful day as if the wind was passing through me, just as the welcome message suggested. I was able to stay at my favorite museum and had the wonderful experience of seeing beautiful sunset and sunrise like paintings from my room. Thank you to all the staff for the pleasant and well-balanced service. I also thought it was wonderful that there were solar panels on the rooftop and eco-friendly considerations in the amenities. The food was satisfying in both quantity and content, and it exceeded my expectations. Thank you for the luxurious time.

    Architect's Commitment

We stayed at the property because we wanted to visit the museum attached to the stays designed by a famous architect. The garden was well-maintained, providing a spacious area with a view of the sea, allowing us to relax. However, the room had amenities for two men, and when we asked the front desk, they said they only had men's shavers and such. I wondered if there were many male guests staying together... At this class of stays, most places focus on providing amenities for women, so it was a bit disappointing.

    Enjoy the sunrise.

The Room was wonderful, and you can choose from a wide selection of books on the bookshelf. There is also a rich collection of art books. A lovely selection. You can fully open the glass doors or enjoy watching the lace curtains flutter in the breeze. The sunrise rises directly in front, reminiscent of Monet's sunrise. I couldn't help but compare it since it was right there on the bookshelf. The only slight issue was that I didn't quite understand how to use the lounge. I thought it was self-service, but it seemed to be order-based, and I didn't understand the system. It was nice to be able to use the museum before check-in. I was able to relax in the Room. Thank you for your careful handling of my forgotten items. I apologize for the trouble.

    I had the best time.

The staff's response was very pleasant, and I felt that everything, including the restaurant, museum, and Villa, was wonderful. I usually don't have many opportunities to have a French dinner alone and was nervous due to my lack of confidence in table manners, but I was able to spend my time comfortably. Regarding the transportation service, I also received a response full of hospitality, allowing me to have a wonderful time until the end.
