    A cozy Hotel.

    The Hotel’s exterior is modern and stylish. Unfortunately, it was raining when we visited, which disrupted our sightseeing plans, and we arrived at 2:00 PM. The front desk staff greeted us with a smile, handled the check-in smoothly, and guided us to the restaurant/lounge. At check-in, we were offered welcome sweets and drinks, and we were able to relax there until our Room was ready. The Room has an open-air bath, so you can enjoy the Onsen anytime. (Since the bath is on the terrace, the shower is separate.) The toilet is also separate, making the layout very convenient. The bed was a wide single (single-wide). It was very comfortable to sleep on. We stayed on a two-meals-included Plan, so dinner and breakfast were included. Dinner was casual French cuisine. Both the pacing of the course and the presentation were excellent, and combined with friendly service, we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious as well. The large public bath was clean and had a spacious tub. The open-air bath was slightly hot, and it felt great with the fresh air outside. This is a Hotel I would like to stay at again.

    The shower and the open-air bath are separate; we would like a chair in the shower room. We would also like a chair in the Room.

    Stylish Hotel

    I was amazed that the Room comes with a bath at this price. Every dish was outstanding, beautifully presented, and it made me want to come back. However, around Minakami there are few tourist attractions, and the whole town felt very quiet.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    This time, for my birthday trip, my wife chose this Accommodation for us. It was a newer Accommodation and very clean. Our Room had a close-up view of the Tone River, and the view from the open-air bath in the Room was wonderful—I used it four times! The meals were just the right amount, and I was very satisfied. As we were leaving, I told them we’d be back, and then we headed out...

    Every stay is comfortable.

    This was my 7th stay, and I’ve always been able to spend my time comfortably here. Until now, I’ve only stayed during the spring and summer seasons, so next time I’m considering the autumn foliage season. I’m looking forward to the autumn leaves along the river visible from the balcony. One thing that always concerns me is that the bathroom mirror is too hard to see because of the lighting. Other than that, the staff are kind, and the Room is clean with no issues.

    Wonderful Accommodation

    Surrounded by nature, the bath and Facility were both clean and very nice. It was a wonderful Accommodation that I highly recommend.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    This was our first family trip since losing my mother. As my father requires nursing care and had previously fallen in the bathroom in the Room, we were a bit worried. However, the entire property is barrier-free, and a wheelchair was available at the entrance. We didn’t need to use it, but it gave us great peace of mind. Everything was delicious, from the welcome sweets to dinner, and we were very satisfied with both the Japanese and Western breakfast options. My daughter usually prefers bread in the morning, but even she said the Japanese breakfast here was delicious. We were able to relax and take it easy for two days—thank you very much for your hospitality.

    The Hotel entrance is hard to find.

    The entrance signage was insufficient, and I passed by without realizing it. The Hotel was very clean and pleasant, and the staff were helpful, but I wish I had been informed that there is no in-room extension phone. I was disappointed that the open-air bath tub in the Room was small. (Onsen temperature adjustment was also not possible.) The refrigerator wasn’t cooling, so it was replaced, but it still didn’t get very cold and there was no temperature setting, so I ended up drinking beer with ice. I made a Reservation without meals for a Multiple Night Stay on Monday and Tuesday, but on Tuesday most nearby restaurants were closed and I had to search around; I would have liked to know this in advance. The view from the Room was excellent.

    We had an amazing time!

    I was looking for an Accommodation with an open-air bath in the Room, and I came across Aratashi. I had stayed at a different Accommodation in Gunma before, but I decided on this one after seeing the photos and details. When we arrived, the front desk staff (perhaps from overseas?) were very kind and left a great impression, and the Room we had been looking forward to was clean, simple, and perfect. The automatic water-heating system was very convenient, so we enjoyed the open-air bath many times!! My husband was also very satisfied, and it became an Accommodation we definitely want to return to. The food was delicious as well. Thank you for giving us such wonderful memories!!

    The in-house loungewear was disappointing.

    About the in-house loungewear Sorry, but I’d like to share my honest feedback. Please understand there is no ill intent. 1) The pocket was torn and I dropped my room key card. 2) The waistband on the pants was completely stretched out and very loose—without a drawstring, they would slip down. 3) The top was too long. Both the pants and top were wrinkled and looked sloppy. 4) The color was mouse-like, and the cut wasn’t flattering either. 5) A yukata would be better.

    Newly opened in 2024! Outstanding value for money.

    My wife and I stayed for one night on Sunday and Monday. We booked a Plan with both breakfast and dinner included. When we checked in around 4:30 PM, the parking lot was almost full! The only open spaces were for EVs, so we confirmed with a staff member and parked there. Maybe it was fully booked? Since it opened in 2024, the Facility is very clean. Check-in is mostly self-service, but support is available, so there were no issues. The Room was more spacious and functional than expected, and the view from the balcony was decent as well. Dinner was a light French-style meal; it might not be enough for younger guests. For breakfast, you can choose Japanese or Western; neither stood out as particularly good or bad—just about what you’d expect. The staff were very friendly overall, and I think this Hotel offers excellent value for money. Recommended for families or close groups of friends!

    I really like it, but...

    As the name suggests, we stayed at this “new” Hotel. We were satisfied with the Facility and amenities as well as the service, and especially enjoyed the meals—both dinner and breakfast were delicious. After dinner, my wife and I each went to the large public bath. We were told that face towels would be provided, but both the men’s and women’s baths had run out, and even when we called, no one at the front desk answered—so we ended up going in without towels. Since we otherwise really liked this Hotel, I wanted to share this point for improvement.

    This was my first st...

    This was my first stay. I had a very pleasant time in the clean building. The reason it wasn’t 5 stars is that I would be happy if there were something to wash the body among the amenities. The dinner time was mistaken. The front desk staff correctly wrote 7:30 PM, but someone came to call us to our Room at 5:45 PM (which was kind), so I was surprised. Also, if you could please remove the cobwebs on the wall visible from the bath and clean under the refrigerator, it would be perfect. In addition, it seems like the indoor slippers have become misshapen from wear; I think it would be good to replace them regularly. The value for money is excellent, so it’s an Accommodation I’d like to visit again. Thank you very much.

    Both the building and the interior were very clean, and we loved the calm atmosphere. They were also considerate about food allergies, and the meals were delicious with just the right portion size.

    Book 2 Rooms

    We were able to book two adjacent Rooms for our children and grandchildren, and we had a wonderful trip. We warmed up in the first-floor Onsen, and at dinner we ordered red wine and enjoyed everything—it was all very delicious. The steak was especially tender, and it was perfect with the homemade bread. Unfortunately, there were dried grass in the bath in our Room so we did not use it, but the first-floor Onsen was more than enough. The staff were also very pleasant and welcoming.

    We arrived at the Hotel smoothly with the Shuttle Service from Jomo-Kogen Station. I was a bit concerned that the open-air bath in the Room was fully visible from across the river, but I enjoyed it comfortably (with the curtain closed). The large public bath also had a sauna, which was great. What I liked most was how delicious dinner was, and my wife was very satisfied as well. We would definitely like to visit again.

    You can enjoy a comfortable stay anytime.

    This is my sixth stay. The Facility is clean, and I’m very satisfied with the reasonable rates despite having an open-air bath. I also love the gentle feel of the hot spring water. From the balcony, I can hear the sound of the river flowing below, and I relax every time. The staff are kind as well, and I always have a wonderful time.

    I am a wheelchair us...

    I am a wheelchair user, and I felt reassured by the courteous email response to my requests regarding parking and allergy-related ingredients, so I was able to visit with peace of mind. All Rooms offer views of the Tone River, and having an open-air bath on the terrace meant I could easily enjoy the Onsen at any time, which I truly appreciated. My husband said the large public bath also had two tubs with different water temperatures as well as an open-air bath, and it was not crowded, so he could relax at leisure. This is a relatively new Accommodation (about three years old), and many of the staff are young; their energetic hospitality lifted our spirits as well. The only reason I rated dining one star lower is that I personally would have enjoyed a wider selection of alcoholic beverages to pair with the delicious food, and I felt the amount of vegetables was slightly small. Even so, thanks to the warm personalities of the staff and the wonderful clarity of the Tone River, it offers excellent value for money and very high satisfaction overall, so we would definitely like to return.

    No matter what time ...

    No matter what time I visit, dinner exceeds my expectations and breakfast is delicious as well. The Room is just the right size and very comfortable. Recently, I’ve been using the Shinkansen and requesting the Shuttle Service, so I don’t get tired. Next time, I’d like a Multiple Night Stay.

    A Stay After a Long Time

    This was my third stay, I think. The Hotel was clean, and all the staff were cheerful and courteous, so I was able to relax and enjoy my time. The meals and menu seemed to have changed compared with before, but everything was still very delicious. It’s also conveniently close to the expressway, and it’s a Hotel I would definitely like to stay at again. Just one thing I’d like to mention: The toilet exhaust fan and the air conditioner filter were clogged with dust, so ventilation wasn’t working properly. Please carry out regular maintenance. I’ll be back again!

    I traveled with my 88-year-old mother. I contacted the Accommodation in advance about her condition, and perhaps because of that, we were given a Room near the elevator. We have stayed at other Ryokan and Hotels with Rooms that have open-air baths, but my mother is often afraid of her footing and cannot get into the bath. However, at this Accommodation, she was able to use the open-air bath in our Room and was very happy. The meals were also delicious for both dinner and breakfast. We look forward to staying with you again.

    It was the perfect holiday.

    The Hotel is simple yet kept clean, and both the large public bath and the in-Room bath are wonderfully relaxing and refreshing. From the bath, you can also enjoy watching and hearing trains pass by. The staff’s warm and efficient service was also very pleasant.

    The Room with an open-air bath was just as expected, but the dinner and Japanese breakfast were even more wonderful than I had hoped! I was impressed by the beautiful presentation and delicate flavors. The staff’s service was also very attentive, and their hospitality truly stood out.     A clean and comfortable Hotel

    My wife and I stayed for one night from February 21 on a ski trip. The lobby, dining area, baths, and guest room were all clean and well maintained, making it a comfortable Hotel. The room in particular was spacious, and we were able to relax together while enjoying the open-air bath. The amenities covered the basics, but each person received only one bath towel and one face towel, which felt insufficient for fully enjoying the Onsen. As for meals, dinner was a course meal beautifully presented on carefully selected tableware and was very delicious. However, breakfast didn’t quite suit our taste. Both dinner and breakfast portions felt appropriate for a couple in their 50s, so younger guests may find them a bit small. All of the staff had wonderful smiles and provided pleasant service. Overall, we were very satisfied with this Hotel and would like to stay again on our next ski trip. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    Second stay!

    This was my second stay. This time I stayed with my family, and once again the Room was clean and we were able to relax. Personally, I found the meals a bit lacking, but my family seemed satisfied, so that was good. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

    I was satisfied.

    Both the property and the Room were thoroughly cleaned and very tidy. The bed was comfortable as well. The private open-air Onsen bath in the guest room was wonderfully relaxing and warming. The view from the balcony was beautiful. Every dish in the dinner course was delicious. Breakfast is Japanese-style, and it was great too. Amenities such as toothbrushes are available in the front lobby for guests to take what they need to their Room, which I found practical and convenient. All the staff were kind, the value for money was excellent, and I would love to stay again.
