    Absolutely wonderful!

I could praise this place endlessly. Everything was wonderful, but what impressed me most was the staff’s hospitality. A young male staff member came out from the front desk wearing a jacket, and when I asked a question he said “um,” but overall it was remarkable to see such consistently attentive service in today’s world. I wish this level of hospitality could be recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of Japan. Japan is one of the few countries in the world that can truly take pride in its hotel professionals (including women and female hosts).

    It was a wonderful stay.

I stayed for two nights on a trip with friends. The Onsen in the Room was wonderful, and the food was very delicious. The staff’s hospitality was warm and thoughtful. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

Both the bath and the Room were wonderful, making for an excellent stay.

Both the Room and the Facility were spacious, clean, and made for a very comfortable stay. The amenities and the drinks in the refrigerator were also well stocked, which was great. The open-air bath in the Room was nice, but personally I used the large public bath many times. Since the property does not accommodate many guests to begin with, I felt the large public bath was luxuriously designed for the number of guests. Most of my baths felt almost like having it to myself. If I had to ask for one improvement, I would appreciate it if meals could shift more toward quality rather than quantity. Dinner offered many dishes, and by the end I was almost completely full. Also, I would have been happy to dine a bit more slowly. It felt like staff were constantly checking on our progress, and as soon as one plate was finished, the next arrived immediately without pause, which made it feel a little rushed. If you were fully booked and had no choice but to serve that way, I could understand; however, since this time was not peak season, it would have been nice to have a bit more consideration. Overall, it was a highly satisfying stay, and I would like to visit again when timing works out—thank you in advance for next time as well. Thank you very much.

We were very satisfied again on our second stay.

We stayed here last year and had such a wonderful time that we definitely wanted to come back. This year, we chose our travel destination mainly because we wanted to stay at this Accommodation again, and it did not disappoint. Our Room had an indoor bath, but the open-air bath was so relaxing that we never even found time to use the indoor one (laughs). This is truly an Accommodation we want to return to again. Thank you very much.

Enjoy an extraordinary getaway. Highly satisfying.

I stayed at Minami XX on August 28. Thank you very much for upgrading my Room and for your wonderful hospitality. Enjoying the Tokachi night sky (even late at night), I was able to fully relax in the private open-air bath attached to my Room and savor the Moor Onsen without any worries. The amenities were also a step above the rest, making me feel truly pampered. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, with a great variety of seafood and mountain delicacies—everything was deeply satisfying. Thank you again for your heartfelt hospitality. I will definitely return!

    I’ve spent my birthd...

I’ve spent my birthday here three years in a row. In addition to the complimentary dessert, you also upgraded my Room, which means I’ve now stayed in all four Room types. Thank you very much. I believe this was my fifth stay, and every time I enjoy the delicious meals, the spacious Room, and the relaxing bath. I also love the quality of the Moor Onsen water. Because it’s a luxurious single-story property with only a small number of Rooms, there are no noisy tour groups, and you can spend your time quietly without hearing noise from neighboring Rooms—another great appeal. That said, winters in Obihiro are extremely harsh, so although the private open-air bath is wonderful, it’s disappointing that older guests may worry about heat shock and can’t visit in winter. When I was younger, an open-air bath even in midwinter was totally fine... After having breakfast here, even expensive Japanese set breakfasts at luxury Hotels in Tokyo feel rather modest... I do end up eating too much first thing in the morning, though.

I’d love to stay here again.

We were able to relax and truly enjoy a wonderful time. The food was delicious, the Room was clean, the bath was spacious, and the staff were excellent—there was nothing to criticize. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a Hotel that satisfied me this much. This time we stayed for one night mainly for sightseeing, but next time I’d like to stay for two nights just for this Hotel.

It was an exceptional, out-of-the-ordinary experience. I was also very happy that the proprietress kindly saw us off until our car departed. Even if the Facility and cuisine are luxurious, poor service can ruin everything. This time, in addition to the wonderful Facility and cuisine, I’m truly glad we stayed at an Accommodation that provided heartfelt hospitality.

It has become my favorite accommodation.

We stayed to celebrate an anniversary, and we were truly happy to feel your warm hospitality. Thank you very much. Dinner was something we could savor slowly, dish by dish, and both the quality and taste were excellent. The simmered rockfish was outstanding—I honestly wished I could have had it with white rice. The dinner portion size was just right; any less would have felt a bit lacking. Also, since we don’t drink alcohol, it would be nice if you offered a bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling wine. We were able to relax fully in the in-room open-air bath, and the Room itself was spacious and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable as well—my husband said it was the first time he’d ever slept so deeply at an Accommodation. The drinks and amenities were plentiful, making it perfect for an adults-only getaway stay-in experience. Breakfast was perfect in both volume and flavor, and the freshly cooked rice in a pot was delicious. The large public bath area wasn’t crowded and was easy to use, but the lighting created such a strong atmosphere that it felt quite dark at night and a little scary. The sauna wasn’t crowded either, which was great, but what disappointed us was the relaxation area. It would be nice to have chairs you can lie back on, as well as relaxation chairs outdoors too. A water station near the sauna would also be convenient. Since there are in-room open-air baths, I imagine many guests use the large public bath mainly for the sauna—so we’d be happy if this could be improved. We also loved being seen off with friendly waves at check-out. Next time we’ll come stay in winter!

    This is a wonderful accommodation.

I’d been wanting to stay here for a long time. It was an even more wonderful Accommodation than I expected. The service is excellent, and the concept of the Accommodation is lovely as well. The Room was spacious, and the private open-air bath in the guest room was incredibly relaxing. The moor Onsen is fascinating—silky and smooth, and it warmed my body in a completely different way. This is an Accommodation everyone should experience at least once. It’s a bit far, but I’d love to visit again.

    This is my second visit.

We stayed for three nights starting August 3. From check-in to check-out, we had a very comfortable stay. The welcome daifuku sweets served in the spacious, spotless Room were delicious, and it was wonderful that both the indoor bath and the open-air bath were Onsen!! The dishes served at dinner and breakfast were all made with great ingredients and were truly delicious. I was also happy to see the female staff member who helped us last year again, and to chat about Indian curry. I also enjoyed talking about movies with one of the male staff members—we had a great time. These days, many Accommodations have more international staff, so it can sometimes be hard to convey subtle nuances or there may be small inconveniences, but here all the staff are Japanese, which made us feel at ease. On the morning of checkout day, a luggage cart was prepared in front of our Room. Such thoughtful attention made me very happy!! It was truly cozy, and if we visit Tokachi again, this is an Accommodation we would definitely like to stay at again. Patu!! Unizou.

    Everything is top-notch!

First, the only downside: There’s nothing within walking distance (unfortunately, the roadside station wasn’t to our taste). That said, if you’re coming for the Hotel stay itself, it’s not really a drawback... We’ve stayed at many Hotels and Accommodations, and this place is top-class in every way—Facility, Onsen, and service. The meals and the large public bath may have been the best we’ve ever experienced. We were told at check-in that few guests use the large public bath, and it was true—we were able to enjoy that impressive bath almost privately, which was fantastic. The food wasn’t gimmicky; each dish respected the ingredients, which we really appreciated. The simmered fish at dinner (sadly I forgot the name of the fish) is something I’d love to eat again before I die. Our family stayed in two different Room types (parents and children), but honestly—even though I feel a bit sorry saying this to the Accommodation—the most affordable Room was spacious enough. The all-inclusive drinks and amenities are the same as well, so I recommend that Room. Next time, we’d love to visit in winter.

    A quintessential designer Ryokan

The Accommodation is surrounded by concrete like a mansion, so the Room is clean and impressive, but you can’t see the magnificent white birch forest. The open-air bath and the sauna in the large public bath only offer a view of the sky, with little sense of nature. That leaves dining as the chance to make up for it, but dinner is served in a casual space simply partitioned with wood; the tableware feels commercial-grade. The ingredients are acceptable, but there’s no creativity. Breakfast was worse. Even the rice—so important—seemed like old Pirika rice? At this class of Ryokan… I couldn’t finish it. I understand what they’re trying to say as a designer’s work, but it doesn’t feel designed with love for Obihiro. Recovering investment matters, but you need to attract repeat guests! In my view, this place needs a thorough overhaul if it aims again for top-level recognition across The whole country. The hospitality is competent, but there’s no late check-out option—and if you lose your key, there’s an extra charge. Yet it claims to be a high-end Accommodation… First, please visit and learn from Myoken Ishiharaso in Kyushu.

    Couples’ Trip

The Room was clean, and we were able to spend a very quiet, relaxing time. Dinner was also delicious, and for us as a couple it was almost more than enough. (We still finished it all.) The in-Room open-air bath with Moor Onsen water was comfortable, and we stayed in it right up until just before check-out. The refrigerator was stocked with beer and soft drinks. (Free of charge.) The Otofuke Daifuku provided as a tea snack was very soft and delicious. We would love to visit again.

A Hotel with Complete Satisfaction in Onsen, Cuisine, and Service

This was my first stay here, and I was extremely satisfied! The size of the building felt just right, and I was able to relax comfortably in a calm atmosphere. The Onsen had excellent water quality, and every time I bathed it was soothing and truly refreshing. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious—I was genuinely impressed. The staff’s warm hospitality and the well-equipped Room were also wonderful. I would definitely like to stay again next time. Thank you for a lovely time.

    One of Hokkaido’s top-class accommodations

I revisited on May 10, 2026. This was my second stay, and compared with my previous visit, the improvements were: 1. I used the Shuttle Service to Obihiro Station. The return Shuttle Service was especially appreciated. 2. I upgraded my Room to an Executive Twin, and it was well worth it. 3. The proprietress greeted me twice. The meals, Onsen, Facility, and service are all of a high standard. I would love to stay again if I have the opportunity.

    Recommended by a friend

This was my first stay here on a friend’s recommendation. I was truly satisfied with the wonderful hospitality, the amazing Onsen (I usually only soak once, but I went in three times), and the delicious meals. However, both dinner and breakfast felt like quite large portions for women… It was my husband’s birthday that day, so we requested wine and a cake, but we were too full to eat it and took it back to our Room. Since we checked in early, I unexpectedly booked a spa treatment as well and enjoyed a blissful time. The Ryukyu tatami had a lovely scent, and we were able to relax in the Room too. This was an outstanding Accommodation that I would love to stay at again when visiting Hokkaido. Thank you very much.

    It was wonderful.

I stayed in a Standard Twin Room, and both the Room size and the open-air bath were more than spacious enough. The Onsen was also free-flowing and wonderful! The food was delicious, and I couldn’t find a single thing to complain about during my stay. In my life, this is by far the number one Hotel in its price range. It’s a Hotel I absolutely want to visit again.

    Highly recommended.

I stayed in late July. I misread the travel time from Shiretoko and arrived at 6:30 pm, later than planned, but they kindly accommodated me. The meals were beautifully presented and tasted excellent, and I really enjoyed them. The Onsen—both the open-air bath and the indoor bath—was said to be free-flowing from the source, and since I like colored mineral springs, it was exactly to my taste. The open-air bath is slightly on the cooler side, so it may be just right for those who want to soak slowly. However, perhaps due to the season, there were a few moths flying around, and I felt it would have been nice if insect spray or something similar had been available. The Room was clean and well maintained, making it easy to relax. What was disappointing was that a moth had gotten into my companion’s Room, and at breakfast there was a block of carrot (perhaps from the previous night’s pot-au-feu?) on the floor underfoot. They also ask what drink you would like after meals, but different teas were served both at dinner and breakfast than what we requested. There were some minor mistakes, but overall it was very clean with excellent service throughout, and it is an Accommodation I would definitely like to visit again.

    Everything was excellent.

My mother and I stayed here together. The Room, the quality of the hot spring water, the meals, and the service were all outstanding, and my mother was very satisfied. We truly appreciated your thoughtful attention, and felt it was worth more than the price. True to its name, we were able to forget the bustle of everyday life in a peaceful setting and relax completely. This was an Accommodation we definitely want to visit again after some time. Thank you very much.

My favorite accommodation—I can’t wait to stay here again!

This is a wonderful Accommodation that becomes more satisfying every time we stay. From the warm welcome to the attentive guidance to our Room, everything is handled with great care, and the sweets prepared in the Room are exceptionally delicious and hard to find elsewhere. The open-air bath with a private garden is spacious and relaxing, and the silky spring water leaves your skin feeling wonderfully moisturized. The meals are always excellent, and you can truly feel the care put into each dish. We are grateful for the thoughtful hospitality of all the staff. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Because it was ranked No. 1 in Reviews.

I visited with high expectations. First came the check-in process. After that, the spa staff guided me through a course, and I received a treatment to relieve travel fatigue. That was a great experience. If it hadn’t been proactively offered, I would have ended up thinking, “Maybe next time,” or wondering whether there were any openings—and it would have felt like too much hassle. Since my previous stay had buffet meals morning and night, I was looking forward to enjoying dishes served while seated. As the course progressed from the appetizers, I found myself thinking, “Huh? This combination doesn’t work.” What was the chef aiming for—what was the concept? The course lacked cohesion and felt mismatched. Given that this is Hokkaido—such a blessed location—I would have preferred simple, delicious seasonal ingredients (local sourcing would have been fine). Hot dishes should be hot and cold dishes should be cold. Slightly cooled meat was disappointing. Salmon roe rice after the meat dish didn’t feel like a good match either. At least some palate-cleansing pickles would have helped. I didn’t find dinner tasty; however, breakfast was delicious—crisp fresh vegetable salad, fresh cod roe, and rice cooked in a traditional iron pot were all excellent. The Room’s open-air bath has a modern exposed-concrete design. I wanted to see more trees; it felt like an experience you could have outside of Hokkaido as well. The large public bath has both an indoor bath and an open-air bath, but they were about the same temperature. If one had been set as a lukewarm bath, I think guests could relax longer. Since it’s equipped for sauna löyly, offering aromatic water would be nice too. It was also disappointing that the foot-drying mat at the entrance used the same type of mat as in the sauna area. With such a stylish building and so much attention to detail elsewhere, I hoped for more consideration even with something like foot mats. I don’t know much about hotel standards in Hokkaido, but I’m sure you operate with strong commitment to quality. This may be none of my business, but with some improvements it could become an even more wonderful Accommodation. When something doesn’t feel worth what you pay for, people naturally become more critical. Sorry for such harsh feedback.

    It was the best accommodation.

We stayed at this Accommodation for two nights, something we had long hoped to do, to celebrate my brother’s birthday. We were welcomed with warm smiles from the staff and relaxed in a comfortable setting, and we were truly impressed by the high-quality, heartfelt meals. The teppanyaki dinner on the second day was especially enjoyable—great conversation and skillful cooking made it delicious and highly satisfying. We left looking forward to the day we can visit again.

We made wonderful memories at Tokachigawa Onsen.

The entire Accommodation felt clean throughout. The staff were relatively young, friendly, and efficient, and they responded immediately with a smile even to small requests. The spacious open-air Moor Onsen bath in the Room was filled with hot water even late at night and was free-flowing. A clean shower room with ample space was also provided. Dinner and breakfast were served kaiseki-style—beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. When I mentioned that I do not like butter or dairy products if they are included in the dishes, they adjusted the meal contents with an alternative menu. I would like to stay again when visiting Obihiro.

The bath and meals were excellent.

The Moor Onsen in the Room was excellent. The large public bath felt a bit enclosed, so I only used it once. The bathtub in the Room was spacious, which was great, but everything was at the same level and fairly deep, so I couldn’t do a half-body soak, which was disappointing. I’d like you to add stones or something with height inside to create a step. I also think having a step would make getting in and out easier. The meal was titled “creative kaiseki,” so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was surprisingly delicious (no offense). The serving timing was good, and I enjoyed everything. Breakfast also had many small dishes and was fun. The yukata worn by the female serving staff looked a bit inexpensive, so I think samue-style outfits would be better. It was a relaxing stay overall, and I’m satisfied with my visit.

    A Very Comfortable Stay

I made a Reservation because I wanted to soak in the Tokachigawa Moor Onsen, one of the few in the whole country. I had informed you in advance that I have difficulty walking, and I was truly impressed by your hospitality—providing a shower chair in the bath and preparing a Room with as little walking distance as possible to the front desk and restaurant. The Room was spotless down to every detail, and the water quality of the very spacious bath was excellent, allowing me to relax and recover from fatigue—an extremely satisfying way to end my trip. The entire Facility has a wonderful, museum-like atmosphere. I would love to visit again soon.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

Access from the bus stop was a bit hard to understand. Even though it was right in front of me, I ended up taking a detour (lol). The Accommodation’s design felt very modern and lovely. I liked the tatami hallway—it feels great to walk on barefoot and gives a clean, refreshing impression. I found myself unnecessarily wondering how the gravel is cleaned, but I’m sure the hardworking staff keep everything spotless. The meals were good, but if I had to say something, they felt a little too efficient. Since this isn’t a budget Accommodation, my expectations for the dining experience were higher. The pace may have been a bit too fast. Thank you to all the staff for your warm smiles.
