    Very satisfied. However,

    The location is outstanding, with a great view of the Yubatake. The Room is spacious, and the bath is large; I was very satisfied with the Shirahata hot spring water as well. The bathroom window opens wide, so you can bathe while letting in cool outside air—making it comfortable even for a long soak. The amenities are sufficient and well stocked. The toilet was also cleaned thoroughly. The sink area is roomy, and there are two faucets, so two people can use it at the same time. Yukata, samue loungewear, geta sandals, tabi socks, a hand basket, etc. are provided as well, which makes for a comfortable stay. The food felt Spanish-inspired. It’s an unusual menu for a Hotel, but everything was very tasty and the portions were satisfying. The prices for additional dishes and drinks were reasonable, and there was a good variety to choose from. Overall: 4 stars. Things I noticed below. The amenities are from a single brand; however, while the brand logo is printed large, the text indicating whether it’s shampoo, conditioner, or body soap is too small to read. This applies to the entire Room in this Hotel (including the bathroom): the lighting is extremely dim, making small text even harder to see—essentially unreadable. Many people remove glasses or contact lenses in the bathroom, so small hard-to-read labels are frustrating. That said, only the toilet area has exceptionally bright lighting—so if it’s too dark to read something elsewhere، you can bring it into the toilet area to read it. Because the bathroom is dark even during daytime، I wondered if housekeeping also has difficulty seeing; there was some red mold left in a corner of one sink basin. You cannot watch terrestrial TV or BS channels on the television، but you can use VOD apps such as YouTube، Netflix، and TVer. However، someone who stayed previously appeared to have remained signed in، and it was still logged into another person’s account. I think staff should sign out after each checkout.

    Despite the fairly h...

    Despite the fairly high accommodation fee, I was very bothered to see that a stone at the entrance was cracked and patched with duct tape. At night, I couldn’t sleep because of what sounded like boiler noise and/or vibrations coming from the entrance. It rained during the night, and the sound of rain hitting the roof was so loud that I couldn’t sleep. I could also hear young people making noise outside late at night, which was disturbing. Having an Onsen in the Room was great—I could use it many times, and both that feature and the hot water were excellent.

    Shirahata no Yu is excellent.

    It was worth extending our trip from Karuizawa to Kusatsu Onsen just to visit Kimuraya. We truly enjoyed a relaxing time, and the Shirahata no Yu with its free-flowing Onsen water was so smooth it felt like it embraced the body. Even my husband, who isn’t particularly fond of hot springs, seemed to appreciate its charm and went in multiple times. The staff members were all wonderful as well.

    Second stay

    The view of Yubatake from the window is amazing. If you're staying in Kusatsu, I recommend Kimuraya. During the 3-day weekend, traffic and finding parking can be challenging, but we arrived around noon and were allowed to park our car, which was very helpful. The only downside was that the Room felt a bit dark. It would be great to have additional lighting for reading or other activities. Thank you to all the staff!

    Noise & Brightness

    - The area in front of the hot spring field has a footbath, but the noise from people shouting late at night and early in the morning made it difficult to relax. - Regarding the lighting in the Room, it was designed by architect Kengo Kuma with a cave-like concept, so the lighting was intentionally dim. However, it would be better if the dining area had more downlights and adjustable lighting, as it was hard to fully appreciate the delicious food. - The entrance sliding door and tempered glass bathroom door need adjustment for smoother opening and closing. - The bathroom floor tiles are loose and unstable, making it inconvenient to wash the body with only a hand bucket. Since there is only a shower for washing hair, having a faucet in the bathroom would be more convenient. - The toilet paper holder is stylish but not very practical.

    A prime location with a stunning view of Yubatake.

    The terrace offers a stunning view of the Yubatake, making it an excellent location. The onsen is also likely to be wonderful! However, while there is a TV, terrestrial channels cannot be viewed. Additionally, the TV was not functioning well even after staff assistance, and streaming services like YouTube or Netflix were completely unavailable. The iPad provided in the room also had poor WiFi connectivity and frequently froze. Only one set of bath towels was provided, requiring repeated requests for additional ones. Considering the price, it was hard to describe this accommodation as comfortable.

    The location, interi...

    The location, interior design, access to the bath, Onsen, beds, amenities—everything was highly satisfying. The staff responded promptly whenever contacted and their warm hospitality helped relieve daily fatigue.

    The quality of the Onsen is excellent.

    A very new, clean, and wonderful accommodation. Depending on your preferences, it offers a prime location overlooking the Yubatake and is one of only six accommodations drawing directly from the hot spring source, allowing you to enjoy the highest quality onsen. The staff were very polite and kind. This time, we ordered food from the 1st floor and enjoyed it in our room. The room was a bit dim, so having a slightly larger lighting stand would be convenient for brightening up the space when needed. Looking forward to visiting again!

    The best location and hot springs.

    Thank you for your hospitality. We were able to relax and enjoy the excellent hot water and location. The amenities were Aesop, and the Room had an ethanol fireplace, allowing us to spend a leisurely time right in front of the hot spring field. It would be helpful to have an additional towel hanger and bath towel.
