    The mountains suddenly open up...

    The mountains suddenly opened up, revealing a vast campground. It felt strangely exciting—“Is this really Japan?” Not knowing where to go, I ended up going to the campground front desk. The Hotel building was wonderful, with a ceiling and roof fitted with firewood. The Room was spacious and very comfortable. The only disappointment was black mold in the cypress bath in the Room, which made me not want to use it. I think this needs to be addressed immediately. Instead, I went to the large public bath first thing in the morning, and it was excellent. I would have liked napkins at breakfast.

    This is a Hotel I’ve...

    This is a Hotel I’ve wanted to visit ever since it opened. The design is wonderful from the moment you enter the entrance, and the Room made me feel like I was staying at an overseas Resort Hotel. The birdsong was soothing and relaxing. There were plenty of drinks available, including alcohol. Since drinking on an empty stomach isn’t ideal, I think it would be even better if there were light snacks such as nuts. It was disappointing that neither the open-air bath nor the indoor bath uses Onsen water. In the end, swimsuits were provided so I tried the open-air bath, but only stayed in for a few minutes. The indoor bath had a beautiful design, but I didn’t use it. The large public bath had an open-air bath and a sauna as well, and I liked its stylish atmosphere. Because it was a weekday in the off-season, it felt almost private and I really enjoyed my bathing time. However, after dinner I waited a while for digestion and ended up going after 9 p.m., so I couldn’t relax for long. I understand there is cleaning time as well, but it would be great if the last entry could be extended to 11 p.m. Dinner was creative cuisine with a Japanese-French feel. Everything was delicious and brought out the best of each ingredient—I was very satisfied. The crispy-yet-fluffy texture of the sea bream skin especially stayed with me. After dinner we watched the bonfire, and after breakfast we enjoyed coffee on our Room terrace—such a luxurious time. There are also two Snow Peak shops on site, so we enjoyed shopping too. It’s a bit far away, but even with just one night we had a very fulfilling stay. Thank you very much.

    We had a very relaxing stay.

    I came here to relax. I love camping too, but I really wanted to unwind, and I’d been wanting to visit because it seemed like I could enjoy both—so we stayed in Snow Peak’s JYUBAKO. It was so wonderful that I want to make it a must-do once a year. My husband was very satisfied as well, and we definitely want to come back. Dinner was great, of course, and breakfast was also delicious—we were full and completely satisfied. Thank you for a wonderful time.

    An extraordinary and wonderful space

    We stayed in a Jukubako primarily for the sauna. Since the building has a simple structure, it is equipped with air conditioning, but you can feel cold air coming from the floor and windows. For that reason, in winter we recommend wearing extra layers over the provided loungewear when sleeping. With no TV or clock, time feels pleasantly different—there’s also a slight camping vibe—making it a valuable experience. The sauna and Onsen were, to put it mildly, outstanding! Dinner and breakfast were carefully prepared, focusing on quality over quantity. The flavors were very satisfying to us.

    Accommodation Beyond Expectations

    I stayed during a weekday when it was less crowded. What impressed me the most were the room and the sauna. The Junior Suite Forest room was very relaxing, and the sauna had a high temperature with self-pouring löyly, providing an exceptional experience. It is an accommodation where you can feel nature by strolling around the nearby campsite or visiting the Snow Peak Museum.

    Accommodation Where You Can't Sleep at All

    I stayed in the Junior Suite "Forest," but there is a critical issue with the ceiling. During my stay, it rained heavily, and the sound of rain hitting the metal roof echoed throughout the room. Conversations were only possible by shouting, and sleep was entirely out of the question. I never expected to pay such a high accommodation fee for an experience where I couldn't sleep at all. This level of soundproofing is unacceptable for this price range. I've encountered rain at other glamping accommodations before but have never had trouble sleeping. While walls, floors, and windows are well-constructed, I cannot understand why only the ceiling is so poorly made. Immediate measures such as installing soundproof materials should be taken. The bathing facility was also inconvenient to use, with exclusive hours for guests limited to just one hour from 9 PM to 10 PM at night and a short time in the morning. If this facility is promoted as an attraction, its operating hours should be extended. The meals were good; however, if it rains during your stay, it becomes an unpleasant experience overall. Since even quiet sleep cannot be guaranteed here, I recommend that future guests either hope for clear weather or opt for staying in one of their cabins just to enjoy the atmosphere instead of booking a suite.

    Worth the trip despite the distance.

    I was extremely satisfied and would love to stay again with my in-laws next time. - The dinner was exquisite. It was so delicious that I even made the sea bream rice at home. - The starry sky visible from the bath was stunning. Additionally, having a time slot exclusively for guests ensured a less crowded experience, which was delightful. - The staff were all attentive and provided thorough explanations, making our stay very pleasant.

    I had the best day ever.

    Staying in the trailer house (JYUBAKO) initially made me a bit anxious, but the fluffy bed, well-prepared amenities, and freshly brewed coffee from ground beans were absolutely delightful. I was thoroughly satisfied. The dinner was of exceptionally high quality, with every dish being incredibly delicious. The selection of Swiss wine was also outstanding. The large public bath was very spacious, and gazing at the star-filled sky from the open-air bath was truly moving. I am grateful for such an amazing and relaxing experience at this price point. Thank you so much! I look forward to visiting again in winter!

    A wonderful Accommodation filled with things you love

    We stayed at Sumibako, and it was a mobile house that was more than enough for two people. Above all, it was wonderful to feel that all the staff genuinely enjoy their work. That was the best part for us. The sauna and outdoor cooling were on a completely different level from the city—perfect for fully unwinding—and the meals were absolutely delicious. We will definitely come again. Thank you very much.

    Stayed in the "Earth" Double Suite with an open-air bath for a multiple night stay with my family of four. The room was stylish yet harmonized beautifully with nature. It featured a kitchen equipped with elegant tea sets from Tsubame-Sanjo and tableware and kitchen tools from the Snow Peak brand. Dinner was a French kaiseki meal that could be enjoyed using chopsticks, including clay pot rice, which was plentiful and satisfying. The staff provided detailed explanations about the carefully selected ingredients, drinks, and cutlery, making it an enjoyable dining experience. After dinner, they prepared a campfire for us to enjoy. Surrounded by the pleasant scent of firewood, everyone quietly gazed at the flames. The onsen and sauna had exclusive time slots for guests, ensuring a peaceful experience. The room also featured a large hinoki cypress bath as well as an open-air bath. One suggestion would be to provide bags (like tote bags available at the front desk) for convenience when going from the room to the main building. The staff were attentive and handled every detail sincerely. While we spent our time relaxing, we learned about the Snow Peak Museum Tour and decided to join—it’s highly recommended! No reservation is required for this tour that conveys their company philosophy and passion for craftsmanship; it left us feeling refreshed and inspired. Lastly, one point I noticed during rainy weather: rainwater dripped significantly from above the entrance door due to what seemed like clogged gutters or another issue—something worth checking into. It was truly an amazing vacation! We look forward to visiting again soon—thank you very much!

    I was worried about ...

    I was worried about the heavy snow forecast, but when I inquired by phone in advance, they responded politely. I took a taxi from Tsubame-Sanjo Station and checked in without any trouble. The hospitality of the staff was excellent, making it a very satisfying stay. I stayed at Earth, and the room size, snowy scenery, interior, amenities, and free drinks were all perfect. The onsen was available almost exclusively for guests during designated hours. The entire property was clean and stylish, and the Snow Peak Museum had intriguing content that sparked my interest in camping. The dinner pairing was cost-effective, and the place was not crowded, allowing for a leisurely experience. Thank you very much!!

    Spa & Sledding in the Snow

    The staff told me that the snow season is the best, so I bought snow boots and prepared for my stay this time. The snowy scenery was even better than I imagined. The view from the open-air bath was also excellent. I also rented a sled and slid down a small slope. It was my first experience, but it was a lot of fun. I would like to visit again when the snow has piled up. Thank you very much.

    I had a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

    The concept of "Stays Box" was new, and I had a fun and comfortable experience as if I were camping inside the room. The amenities were Snow Peak products, so I was happy to learn about the usability of camping chairs and cups. Both the dinner course and breakfast used local ingredients, which were fresh and delicious, and the presentation was beautiful and pleasing to the eye. The time spent relaxing around the campfire after dinner was blissful. The complimentary coffee in the room was from a certain luxury store and was very delicious, leaving me completely satisfied. Although I couldn't do much walking around due to the rainy day, a large umbrella was provided in the room, so I had no trouble moving around. The onsen and sauna facilities were available to guests as many times as they wanted, and there were exclusive times for guests, allowing for a leisurely experience. There were absolutely no negative points, so it's a perfect score. I definitely want to repeat my stay.

    The staff at the hot...

    The staff at the hotel provided excellent service, and the facility was cleaned frequently, which was great. The room, being a container, felt a bit cramped, but I really enjoyed grinding and making my own coffee with the beans provided in the room, and it was delicious. I didn't have high expectations for the food based on the reviews, so I chose the Standard plan, but it was so delicious that I wished I had opted for an upgrade. The breakfast was also carefully prepared and wonderful. It was unfortunate that the onsen had a chlorine smell, but considering it's a campsite and many people use the bath, I thought it was understandable. If there were a private onsen with a reasonable price, I would like to stay again.

    The best holiday at the end of October

    I stayed for the second time at the end of October, and in a word, it was a wonderful experience. The location surrounded by nature is truly a place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and refresh your mind. As soon as I checked in, the staff kindly guided me through the Facility, and I felt a warm welcome. The Hotel is characterized by a simple and sophisticated design typical of Snow Peak, and you can enjoy various Snow Peak products. From the ceiling's wood-burning interior to the washbasin and bathroom, Kengo Kuma's architecture enhanced the comfort of the space. The view from the Room was also excellent, with a pleasant breeze and lush greenery spreading out when I opened the window, blowing away the fatigue of everyday life. Additionally, the exclusive sauna experience for guests, where you can relax while gazing at the beautiful starry sky at night, was exceptional and moving, even among the various saunas I have experienced in the past. Furthermore, the meal I had at the Hotel's restaurant was exceptional. Every dish made with fresh local ingredients was delicious, allowing me to fully enjoy the taste of the ingredients. Especially the locally grown vegetables and rice made me feel the blessings of nature with every bite, truly a "healing of food." Overall, the stay at Snow Peak was a perfect moment to reset my mind and body. I would love to visit this place again, where I can forget the busy daily life and spend a relaxing time in touch with nature.

    The large public bath is wonderful.

    We stayed with two adults and one toddler. The large public bath was excellent in terms of facilities, design, amenities, and cleanliness, and I would love to revisit just for the bath. It was also a nice service to receive a new towel set at the front desk each time we bathed. Since we were on a room-only plan, we separately reserved breakfast at the restaurant Yukimine, where the service was pleasant and the food exceeded our expectations. We were somewhat looking forward to the campfire area for guests, but it didn't have any drink services or a particularly good view, so we didn't make much use of it. (I had mistakenly expected services like hot wine or marshmallows, as offered at other hotels...) The room had two single beds, which was quite cramped for co-sleeping with a toddler, and the child rolled off the bed onto the floor several times during the night. Since it was a spacious junior suite, I think it would have been more comfortable with two semi-double beds. The restaurant staff were very kind to the child, which was greatly appreciated, but it doesn't seem to be a particularly child-friendly hotel (no pajamas or breakfast menu for children), so I recommend it for adult sauna trips!

    The corporate concept of Snow Peak is conveyed.

    I want to enjoy outdoor activities like camping, but I'm not keen on gathering equipment or setting up a tent, so this hotel was perfect for me. Strolling through the adjacent campsite made me feel like a camper. The balcony of the guest room had Snow Peak camping chairs and a table, and I ground coffee beans with the coffee mill provided in the room to enjoy on the balcony. It was the best time. The meals, which used a lot of Niigata ingredients, were satisfying, and the service was adequate. I felt it was a wonderful facility that embodies the Snow Peak concept.

    Extraordinary space

    It was a wonderful place in every aspect. I was able to enjoy freshly ground coffee in my room, play my favorite music, and relax while taking in the view outside. I would like to stay here again next year.

    It was excellent.

    I visited with the intention of refreshing myself with the sauna and nature, but I was pleasantly surprised in many ways. I was particularly impressed by the food. From appetizers to main courses and desserts, dishes of a quality that rival (and in my personal opinion, surpass) many three-star restaurants in the city kept coming, and my wife and I enjoyed them with amazement, which became a great memory. Of course, the sauna and hot springs were also excellent. The sauna, in particular, offered a space with a view of nature, which was very soothing. Next time, I hope to visit again for an extended stay to enjoy the snowy scenery.
