    Pets are welcome, which makes it perfect.

    I chose this place because a friend told me pets can stay here when we went to play at Shironohama Pool & Beach. The Room is two-story and comes with a pet crate, and it can accommodate more people than expected, so I thought it would be great for families or friends for beach activities. The grounds are spacious enough for walks, and in the lounge you can enjoy unlimited ice cream and coffee, so I think even guests with children will have a great time. Above all, it’s great value for money. I’ll come again.

    The Room was new and...

    The Room was new and very clean. The beach was very close and beautiful. Since I couldn’t bring my dog to breakfast, I would be happy if you could deliver a boxed meal to the Room.

    Staying with Your Dog

    We stayed for one night. From the moment we were picked up, the staff treated us with great care, which made our stay very pleasant. The Room had a private open-air bath, and I used it at night and in the morning; it was more than sufficient for one person. Meals were also enjoyable at the restaurant where we could dine with our dog. As it is surrounded by nature, we were surprised to see deer, but we were able to relax and take our time. We would love to stay again.

    Dinner was truly delicious.

    Thank you for your hospitality. The Room was great, the Onsen was great, and the meals were outstanding! Each dish was truly memorable. Although it was far from Ise Jingu Shrine, we were really glad we stayed two nights because we could enjoy dinner twice. Our dog also loved the delicious food. Thank you very much.

    The beach is extremely close.

    There are no convenience stores or supermarkets nearby, but as a dog owner, I was happy to be able to enjoy walks with beautiful scenery. There was a dog run, and it was also fun to take walks on the nearby beach. The lounge is dog-friendly too, and it was great to chat with other guests while enjoying soft-serve ice cream, coffee, and juice. For a birthday gift, we even received treats with a sticker that looked like our dog’s breed—such a thoughtful touch. I was surprised to see wild deer and monkeys up close.

    A Relaxing Time

    This was our second stay. Traveling with our dog is always fun, and it was wonderful to see how much he enjoyed himself both in the Room and outside. We were able to relax at a leisurely pace—just going to the beach or simply spending time around the Accommodation was more than enough. As last time, we dined at the restaurant, and everything was delicious. The meal for our dog was also great, and he finished it in no time. In particular, the grilled fish, abalone dish, and crème brûlée were outstanding. I was also happy that it seemed like the staff remembered us. I personally love the Room layout and the Facility environment—it has an atmosphere that makes me want to come back again, and it made for a very enjoyable trip. We’ll be back again. Thank you very much.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    I was worried that the large public bath and breakfast venue would be far away, but they were within walking distance and I was able to relax. The Room was clean, and the food was delicious. The lounge’s free drinks and soft-serve ice cream were also great. I was happy about the celebration for our dogs as well—thank you. For future guests, it would be reassuring if a nearby map showing the Accommodation location and surrounding facilities such as the large public bath were posted on your website or in the Accommodation introduction. I felt it was a shame that the fire at the dinner venue wasn’t used for any dishes—it could have made things more exciting. Maybe there just wasn’t an explanation…

    We had a relaxing stay.

    Staying in a private villa surrounded by nature was very relaxing. Dinner was a Plan where we ate a bento meal in the Room, and we were able to enjoy freshly cooked rice and plenty of seafood at our own pace. Most of all, I was happy that our dog could nap peacefully during mealtimes. The portion was a bit too large and I would have liked a little more meat, so I rated the meals 4/5. Overall it was a wonderful space, but as others have mentioned, the flooring is slippery for dogs. I would feel more at ease if this could be improved. After reading other Reviews, I brought anti-slip paw pads in advance so my dog didn’t slip, but ideally I’d like my dog to be comfortable without them. Because this is such a lovely dog-friendly Accommodation, that point was disappointing. For this reason, I rated the Room 3/5. That said, we really enjoyed the many services such as free drinks, all-you-can-eat soft-serve ice cream, and the campfire area. We had a truly restful stay—thank you very much.

    It was a lovely Acco...

    It was a lovely Accommodation with a relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast, where we grilled dried fish over a charcoal brazier, was excellent. I also appreciated that it was dog-first. I’d love to visit again.

    I’ve found a favorite Hotel.

    We stayed as a couple with our daughter and our dog. Since our dog is elderly, we had several questions from the time of making the Reservation. Each time, you responded kindly and carefully, which we truly appreciated. From check-in to check-out, all staff were courteous, and we had a very pleasant stay. The international staff members were also working very hard, which left a great impression. The Room was spacious and had an upstairs area, so I couldn’t hear my husband’s snoring (laugh), and it was very comfortable. The Room was clean and didn’t smell like dogs at all. As for the meals, we were especially satisfied with both the quality and quantity of dinner. The meat and abalone were tender—so delicious that we couldn’t help saying so out loud as a family. Perhaps you remembered that I asked about a birthday cake when inquiring about the Reservation, because at dinner you prepared a dessert with “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” written on it, and you even gave us a lovely gift, making it a wonderful birthday celebration. The amenities were well stocked, and having a freestanding mirror by the sink was very convenient. It was slightly inconvenient to get to the large public bath (though my family didn’t seem to mind), and I noticed our dog sometimes seemed to have trouble walking because the floor was slippery, but overall we had an enjoyable stay as a family. Thank you very much.

    If you’re staying surrounded by nature, you can accept a certain level of inconvenience, but this was excessively unhygienic.

    As someone who loves traveling and stays at least 15 nights a year with my dog, this was the most unpleasant stay I’ve ever had. The first thing I noticed was a variety of insects in the washroom—moths, spiders, flies, and more. I can accept stink bugs as something unavoidable in a natural environment and often see them left alone elsewhere, but flies are absolutely unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint. Although there was an air purifier in the bedroom, it still smelled. There were three flies, and throughout the stay I repeatedly tried to get rid of them with the provided insect repellent spray. They landed everywhere—from my dog’s pee pad to the trash bin, floor, and table—and at night they flew over my head in the bedroom with loud buzzing wings. I couldn’t sleep at all; what was supposed to be a restful getaway turned into an exhausting one-night stay. The villa faced the street, so I had no choice but to keep the blinds down for privacy. The room felt dark and gloomy, with flies constantly flying around inside. There was an Onsen bath in the room, but it felt no different from a regular bath at home—tiled and with unremarkable water quality. The main building’s Onsen was crowded; the floor was covered with hair, paper cups were overflowing from the trash bin, and it felt so unhygienic that I left immediately from the changing area. Poor hygiene is unacceptable even at hotels for people only; however, for an Accommodation that targets guests traveling with dogs—and charges additional fees for dogs—thorough cleaning should be a given.

    I would like to stay here again.

    This Ryokan is easily in my top three among all the places I’ve stayed with my dog! I’d love to stay here again.\nI’d be even happier if breakfast could also be enjoyed together with my dog in the restaurant!

    Breakfast has been improved!

    1. In my previous reviews, I wrote that the breakfast—especially the dried fish—smelled so bad I couldn’t eat it. Soon after, you replied that the relevant staff would discuss it. I made a Reservation with a dinner Plan, but also added breakfast. Most of the items were almost the same as before, but the dried fish—which had been terrible—was much improved in smell, texture, and taste. That was great. 2. Our dog happily played at the dog run and also seemed very happy taking walks around the villa grounds. 3. Please consider the following: Cleaning: A few things concerned me this time, and I wiped them myself. - The living room TV was sticky with grime. - The window glass was dirty; even allowing for pollen and yellow dust season, it was still quite dirty, which is a shame because it spoils the wonderful view. - Overall wiping/cleaning doesn’t seem to be checked to this level. Food: The in-Room boxed meal - Sashimi (my husband had spiny lobster; I had simmered fish) was delicious. - The meat shabu-shabu was delicious. - Rice: It is usually outstanding every time, but this time it was hard and much less enjoyable. Was it just the amount of water? - Ponzu sauce: Everything else tastes great, but the ponzu sauce is not good. Other: Bath My husband said he liked the bath at Tokinoza. However, we couldn’t use the open-air bath in our Room—not due to any Facility issue, but because of stink bugs. At night there were many floating in the tub, and more kept falling in. Because of their odor, we simply couldn’t bathe. Sorry for writing so much, but I really like your property and villa very much. While hoping for improvements, I will make another Reservation for six months from now.

    That’s disappointing.

    I was looking forward to using the open-air bath, but it was only filled up to my ankles, so I couldn’t get in. Having a Room with an open-air bath felt pointless.

    Extremely satisfied with an overall score of 5 or higher.

    I stayed here with my dog to celebrate my mother’s birthday. Even before our stay, I called many times with questions and changes, and they kindly explained everything each time, which made me very happy with the staff’s service. When we arrived, we were welcomed with smiles at reception, and at dinner they even gave my mother a present for her birthday, which made us very happy. The Room was spacious and my dog could relax comfortably. There was also a dog run and a beach nearby, making it a perfect environment for walks. The staff were wonderful, and it was a very comfortable trip. Thank you so much for everything.

    An extraordinary, well-deserved treat

    We often visit Mie Prefecture for family trips with our dog, and this time we stayed two nights at this Accommodation we’d been interested in for a while. Due to our Reservation, we enjoyed different meals and Rooms on the first and second nights, and both were absolutely satisfying!! It was truly a wonderful escape from everyday life. Next time we visit Mie Prefecture, we’d like to plan a more relaxed stay here. Thank you very much.

    Relax and enjoy a wonderful Accommodation with in-room dining.

    This Accommodation is wonderful, with lovely Rooms and a great surrounding environment. Soft-serve ice cream and juice in the shared lounge are all-you-can-eat. Roasting marshmallows over the campfire was also great. Since meals were served in the Room, our dog was able to relax as well. The menu was well planned, and it was nice that hot dishes were served hot and cold dishes were served cold. The dried fish at breakfast in the main building is delicious and makes for an enjoyable meal.

    A Dog-Friendly Getaway in a Villa

    This was my first time staying at Villa Otogibanashi. Because it’s a villa, unlike a Hotel, we could relax without worrying about neighboring Rooms. The villa came with an open-air Onsen bath and a terrace, and it was new, very clean, and spacious enough. It’s also an extremely dog-friendly Hotel. For dinner, we ate with our dog at a wonderful makiyaki (wood-fired) restaurant on a separate building, and we were amazed by the high quality of the food. With this level of quality, plenty of privacy to relax, and such reasonable pricing, it felt like an excellent value. We even got to see wild deer at night, which was so much fun. This has become an Accommodation we will definitely return to.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    Although it was a trip with my dog and me alone and we weren’t used to traveling, thanks to the staff’s heartfelt service we were able to make wonderful memories. In particular, I was truly impressed by how delicious the meals were. I would love to visit again.

    We had a relaxing stay and were very satisfied!

    Our dog is very timid and barks a lot at people and other dogs, so choosing this villa where we could relax with just our family was absolutely the right decision. We were very satisfied with this Room, which has a wood-burning stove and an open-air Onsen-style bath. It was also great that dinner was served in the Room, so we could eat whenever we liked. We were too full to finish the rice porridge at dinner, so we had it for breakfast instead. It was wonderful that the bath in the Room is also Onsen, and we could soak anytime. I had watched YouTube videos to learn how to use the stove beforehand, so I enjoyed figuring it out through trial and error. Watching the flickering flames while warming up made for a truly happy time. A few things I noticed: It would be nice to have a movable safety guard in front of the stove. We tied our dog’s leash to a chair, but we were worried about burns. For safety on the second floor, it would be good to add netting or something similar to prevent falls, or install a gate so children/pets can’t access the stairs. The lounge drinks were quite sweet; we’d be happy if you could upgrade them a bit (for example, 100% fruit juice). The dog run on the way to the beach was fairly spacious and nice. The beach was very beautiful. It was disappointing that the yellow door was broken, but we enjoyed taking a relaxing walk. In summer, there is a pool next to the beach, so children should have lots of fun. In winter, it’s a great place to enjoy doing nothing—relaxing slowly in true comfort.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    This was our second Multiple Night Stay in the Little Garden Suite, and we were able to relax and unwind. Our two dogs were thrilled the moment we entered the Room. Dinner at Restaurant HIBA and breakfast at Tokinoza were both truly delicious—we were very satisfied. Our dogs also finished their hamburger steak and goat’s milk. This time, a staff member welcomed us at the parking lot and kindly carried our luggage to the Room—thank you very much. We will visit again in July for our dog’s birthday. One disappointing point: we could hear loud thumping noises and voices from next door late into the night. Is it because the walls are thin? We would like a quiet Room so we can rest early, so next time we have made a Reservation for a Premium Suite. We look forward to seeing you again.

    Second stay Stayed in a maisonette room with my husband and three dogs. The room cleaning was excellent, and being able to enjoy meals leisurely in the room was great. Having a rice cooker in the room allowed us to cook at our own timing, which was very convenient. The white rice was absolutely delicious. Close to the beach, we went out for walks multiple times—our three dogs played to their hearts' content. However, breakfast at the restaurant wasn’t good at all; especially the dried fish, which remained fishy even after grilling—I stopped after one bite. I hope other dishes will be improved as well. That said, both my husband and I were satisfied overall. We’ll make a reservation for next year soon!

    Wonderful Memories with Chiro

    Although the weather was not favorable, the room, the food, and the staff's hospitality were all exceptional. I hesitated to post this because I don't want it to become too popular and hard to book... I definitely want to stay again—it felt like one night wasn't enough. The accommodation's bento exceeded my expectations. The sashimi was of very high quality. While there is some effort required for self-setting, it allowed us to take a relaxing walk by the sea before dinner without worrying about time. Seeing my dog so excited on their first visit to the sea made me happy as well. Although I initially regretted not being able to dine at a restaurant, I was completely satisfied with this experience. The only downside was that we planned an early departure the next day but ended up checking out late because it was so comfortable here! I wish we had booked a multiple night stay instead.

    It was a great accommodation.

    The check-in day was quite windy and cold, but the room was already warmed up, allowing us to stay comfortably. The onsen open-air bath warmed us to the core, and we stayed cozy until bedtime. Considering the size of the room, there was only one humidifier; during dry seasons, having two might be better. The meals made with ingredients from Mie were very delicious, and it was heartwarming to see the young staff working hard to provide excellent hospitality. Our dog also seemed relaxed and comfortable, and we talked about visiting again in early spring. Although unrelated to the accommodation itself, it was unsettling that a guest wandered in front of our room smoking early in the dark morning; it would be appreciated if some cautionary measures could be taken regarding this issue.

    Had a wonderful time.

    The room was a Premium Suite for three people, and we stayed with two people and our beloved dog. The accommodation is very pet-friendly, and I believe our dog was extremely satisfied as well. We were highly impressed with the ingredients and concept of the in-room dining at night. It would be even better for dogs if breakfast could also be served in the room. For walks, there is a sandy beach nearby, and the sunset was particularly beautiful. Overall, there was a great sense of privacy, and the private open-air bath in the room was excellent. One minor concern was that water suddenly spurted out from the faucet; some maintenance here could improve it further. This accommodation has been the best among all places we've stayed so far. We definitely want to visit again! Lastly, we would like to thank all staff members for their exceptionally courteous service.

    This was our second ...

    This was our second stay at the accommodation. Last year, we stayed with our beloved dog and were impressed by the clean room, delicious meals at the restaurant, and the beautiful natural surroundings, which led us to book another stay. Once again, we were completely satisfied with the room, food, and service; however, we were especially touched by the kindness of the staff. Our dog is 18 years old and regularly visits a veterinarian. Since this trip might have been his last, we consulted with our vet before deciding to stay as a family. When we inquired at reception about nearby animal hospitals just in case of an emergency, they kindly provided information about their affiliated veterinary clinic. That alone was very helpful; however, during dinner later on, a restaurant staff member handed us a detailed paper listing nearby animal hospitals' addresses and contact numbers for after-hours emergencies as well as alternative clinics if needed. We were deeply moved by such thoughtful service and agreed as a family that if we can visit again next year, it will definitely be here. Thanks to their care and support, our dog had no issues during the trip and returned home safely with us. This is an accommodation I wholeheartedly recommend to all pet owners! We will definitely return again!

    A truly wonderful accommodation.

    We, a couple with two 8-month-old female Yorkshire Terriers, had a wonderful stay. The environment was excellent, and the staff's thoughtfulness, the dinner and breakfast served in the Room, and the polite response from the cleaning staff at checkout were all truly satisfying. The Room was very clean and allowed us to relax comfortably. Since we have two small dogs, we appreciated the gently closing sliding doors that provided safety and peace of mind. We also thoroughly enjoyed walking to the dog run and along the beach. Staying at such a lovely place made us very happy as a couple. Thank you for taking care of us!

    The wallpaper in the suite villa is covered with mold.

    We stayed for a multiple night stay with our two dogs at the Little Garden Suite. The room layout, furniture, open-air bath, and amenities were all satisfactory. The meals were as delicious as expected, and we were very satisfied. Our dogs also finished their hamburgers at the HIBA restaurant completely. However, there were some disappointing points: We heard from other guests that a bear crossed the road from the nearby beach to the forest, which made us too scared to go for a walk. The wallpaper (upper part) in Room 317 was covered in mold—unacceptable! The terrace sofa also had noticeable mold issues. Both the mini dog run of Little Garden Suite and the hotel's dog run were not maintained well enough for playtime. Around the bridge near our room leading over a pond was littered with deer droppings; we had to step carefully to avoid them but would have appreciated more frequent cleaning. During dinner on our second day at HIBA, no chair was prepared for our dogs initially; although they provided one after seeing our concern, it felt disrespectful considering we had included meals for them in our reservation! Additionally, roasted marshmallows in the lounge after dinner—which was mentioned on your website—were not available despite there being no rain. While there are many areas of dissatisfaction mentioned here, they are all things that can be improved upon easily. We hope these issues will be addressed before making another reservation in future!

    It was excellent.

    We traveled from Kagawa the day before, so it got late while sightseeing. The food and atmosphere were excellent. It happened to be Halloween, and even our beloved dog seemed to enjoy it!
