Morning walk to Kanazawa Castle Park, Oyama Shrine, and more

We woke up early and went for a walk to Kanazawa Castle Park and Oyama Shrine. It was wonderful to be able to pray in a quiet, uncrowded atmosphere. It was great that we could stay at Korinkyo as the perfect starting point for the morning. The night before, we enjoyed plenty of drinks and food, so the breakfast rice porridge was incredibly delicious. The soy milk served before the meal was also excellent. We would love to visit again.

Perfect for a thoughtfully curated solo trip

As this Accommodation is a renovation of a former art gallery, it was unique and wonderful. Because the price difference between Rooms is quite large, it’s hard to decide whether to choose a Room with a bathtub or a shower-only Room and use the rooftop sauna instead. (This time, I chose the latter.) From the rooftop sauna and lounge, you can see the park and buildings right in front of you—an excellent location. If you use the sauna, it was also great that a sauna hat and swimsuit are included in the fee. The self löyly with their homemade distilled water was fantastic, and 90 minutes flew by. It was disappointing that the isolation tank was unavailable due to adjustments. On Sundays, some nearby restaurants are closed or shut early, so I walked around looking for somewhere to have dinner. I think it would be nice to have more options for dinner at the Accommodation rather than only breakfast. The Taiwanese-style breakfast (rice porridge) felt fresh, but next time I’d like to try the bento option instead. The lounge drink service was wonderful—there were alcoholic drinks at night as well—and it was a very pleasant space, but I think it would have been even better if there were simple snacks such as dried items. It’s within walking distance of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa; Oyama Shrine is also nearby; and there are Kutani ware shops and specialty Kaga-fu (wheat gluten) stores as well, making it convenient as a sightseeing base. This time I took a bus from Kanazawa Station, but it also felt like an easy distance to walk while exploring the city. The Room was spacious, with a few books by the bedside; thoughtful lighting; original tea bags; designer loungewear; and multiple photogenic spots and focal points throughout—making for an enjoyable stay. The original amenities smelled great, and overall it felt very comfortable. Overall, if you stay in one of the higher-priced Rooms you might find it slightly lacking value for money; however, for solo travel, choosing a shower-only Room and adding options like the sauna or tank seems likely to be more satisfying. When I visit again solo, I’d like to stay here on a day other than Sunday (since my nearby Kanazawa oden spot is closed), during a period when I can use the tank.

Diamond member benefits are not available.

This was a Hotel I had always wanted to stay at, so it was a dream come true. The Room and the lounge both had a wonderful atmosphere, and I was very satisfied. At the time of my Reservation, I was an IKYU Diamond member and was told I would receive a ¥3,000 in-house voucher as a benefit, but there was no guidance at either check-in or check-out, and I never received it. The body soap amenity in the Room had an amazing scent, so I purchased it at the front desk shop for about ¥5,000—so it was disappointing not to have received the benefit.

    I made a Reservation...

I made a Reservation because I was drawn to the building. The interior and atmosphere were exactly as shown in the photos, and it was a truly wonderful space. The location was also convenient, making sightseeing easy. In the lounge, we enjoyed delicious drinks and were able to relax. One point: we stayed with a child, but the pricing policy felt a bit unclear. Your official website lists age details, but there was no information about ages on IKYU, and check-in took some time to confirm this, so it would be helpful to know in advance.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. Both the building and the room had thoughtful designs, and the staff explained these details during the tour. Additionally, there was a book in the room with detailed introductions, which I found very interesting to read. The location was very convenient, being close to both downtown and an art museum, and I enjoyed the view from the large window overlooking the park across the street. The shop on the first floor with a distillery facility was also lovely. The rice porridge breakfast was delicious and served in just the right portion size. I had a wonderful time here. Thank you!

    We had a wonderful time.

I had always hoped to stay here someday, and recently that wish came true. The lounge, the room, and every corner of the accommodation were beautiful and serene. The arch design pays homage to the long-standing building in this area, while the soft lighting, comfortable sofas, and even the small amenities quietly convey the essence of "Korin-kyo." It’s wonderful to stay at an accommodation where shared spaces are so inviting. No matter what time I visited, the view of Korinbo Street through large windows was delightful. The books on the shelves were all intriguing; I even enjoyed a poetry collection I wouldn’t usually pick up. Thanks to all the staff's attentiveness, I had a truly fulfilling experience (and discovering a delicious Italian restaurant nearby was another highlight of my trip). Although it was nearly twice as expensive as my usual accommodations, it was worth every penny. I hope to visit again during winter’s cold season. Thank you very much!

    Highly satisfied!

We visited Kanazawa for a couple's trip to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. While searching for accommodations, I found this wonderful accommodation that perfectly matched my preferences, and the great reviews convinced me to book it—it was absolutely the right choice. The concept of the accommodation and the attention to detail in the room were outstanding, creating unforgettable memories for us. The absence of a TV and clock in the room was refreshing for us as a couple, leading to more conversations—something we truly appreciated! The bathroom and sauna were clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed using the sauna again on the following day. The breakfast porridge course was delicious, healthy, and innovative! However, one point: during check-in, we were informed that most guests wear loungewear to breakfast. Feeling reassured by this advice, we wore ours but ended up being surrounded by overseas guests dressed in regular clothes—we stood out so much that it was quite embarrassing... Additionally, since tables were placed close together during breakfast seating arrangements, it would have been nice if there had been more space between them. Overall though, it was an amazing hotel experience. We would love to visit again!

A design Hotel in a convenient location

We stayed at this Hotel for 2 nights during our family trip to Kanazawa (couple + one 7-year-old child) over Golden Week. As a family who enjoys traveling, we stay at hotels and Ryokans about 30-40 nights a year. - Location: Conveniently located within walking distance of Kanazawa Castle Park, Kenrokuen Garden, the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, and Nagamachi Samurai District. There’s also a convenience store and Mister Donut nearby. - Room: A renovated Hotel with stylishly designed rooms. We booked a good room that was spacious enough and included a sauna and an outdoor relaxation space. - Facility: The first floor has a shop selling perfumes and shampoos, while the second floor features the lobby and one laundry machine available for use. Being a small-scale Hotel, shared facilities are limited but sufficient for basic needs. - Service: The staff is mostly young and provides pleasant service. There seem to be plenty of staff members around, possibly from the shop as well. - Meals: Breakfast is included with options between Taiwanese-style porridge or Taiwanese-style bento boxes; however, it felt disappointing to have Taiwanese cuisine in Kanazawa instead of local dishes. The taste was average at best; having similar flavors on both days can feel repetitive for Japanese guests, especially children who might find it difficult to enjoy these meals fully. Despite staying in what should be the most expensive room in this Hotel, we were seated at less favorable seats during breakfast service—this felt underwhelming given the price point paid for our stay. - Overall Satisfaction: While the design and staff were lovely aspects of this Hotel experience, considering its price point per room per night along with areas like meal offerings needing improvement or more thoughtful touches in services provided—it resulted in an overall satisfaction rating of 4 out of 5 points from us!

Stayed at the accommodation for a birthday trip.

I stayed for one night in a room with a sauna. As it was a birthday celebration trip, I requested a cake to be prepared in the room, and they kindly accommodated my request even on short notice. The Taiwanese-style breakfast was also very delicious. It was a truly wonderful stay. I would love to stay again when visiting Kanazawa. Thank you very much!

The price does not match at all.

Sleeping without the heater to avoid a sore throat is unbearably cold. When I finally turn on the heater, the curtains sway from the airflow, causing the entrance's automatic lights to keep turning on and off. On top of that, the bathroom door has poor fittings and rattles all night due to outside wind, making it impossible to sleep. To make matters worse, my iPad wasn’t charged when I wanted to call reception. Even with a sauna included, paying 190,000 yen per night for this experience is unacceptable. While the renovation creates a nice atmosphere, it feels like those who designed it are satisfied with appearances alone and haven’t considered how guests actually feel during their stay.

    You should definitely stay here!

We stayed here for my sauna-loving husband's birthday trip. The sauna attached to the Room allowed for temperature adjustment and even had aroma-infused löyly, which was very satisfying! We had requested a cake in advance, and they prepared it just as we wanted, which was much appreciated. From the moment we entered, there was a pleasant fragrance, and the interior was stylish, making it a very lovely space! The breakfast porridge was also delicious! The staff's service with smiles was wonderful!! We would definitely love to stay here again!

    Visit Kanazawa!

The room is a renovated guest room in a building. The room includes a sauna, which is great as you can use it anytime you like, but the cold bath is in a unit bath, so the water temperature doesn't drop, which is a bit unsatisfactory. It seems you can get ice. The breakfast menu is the same every day, which can be tough for a Multiple Night Stay. There is no parking lot, so I looked for a nearby spot but managed to find one space in a distant location. It is conveniently close to tourist facilities like Kenrokuen, so taxi transportation is convenient.

    It was wonderful.

I have always wanted to stay after seeing it on Instagram, and I was finally able to stay this time. The service from check-in was excellent, and the amenities and facilities exceeded all expectations. The breakfast was also very delicious, making for a wonderful start to the day. Next time I stay, I would like to take advantage of options like the sauna. Thank you very much for the wonderful time.

    Satisfied.

Everything in the Room was carefully selected, creating a stylish and wonderful space. Chic, clean, and simple without any waste. The entire Hotel has a relaxed atmosphere, allowing you to spend your time comfortably and peacefully. The Taiwanese porridge course for breakfast is delicious. The Hotel does not have a parking lot, but there are plenty of parking spaces around due to the proximity to the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, so I don't think it will be a problem. Although there were a couple of personal concerns, it is a Hotel I would like to visit again.

Overpriced, but the location is excellent and stylish.

The atmosphere is nice, and the superior room is spacious. The arched doors are lovely. If they sell essential oils, I wish they would also provide bath additives in the bath. The Sonos speaker in the room couldn't connect to Wi-Fi, and the monitor projecting the internet screen on the wall wasn't clear. The Taiwanese breakfast set was delicious. A 4 PM check-in feels late. Since I'm tired from sightseeing, an earlier check-in would be better. The bed is a spacious twin, allowing for a good night's sleep. The provided plum wine and Kaga beer are free. The room wear has buttons positioned high, making the design expose the stomach (lol). Still, it feels a bit expensive. If you go on a Shinkansen tour, you can stay at a decent-ranked hotel for effectively 5,000 yen for a twin room. It depends on what you value.

I decided to stay after seeing posts from Instagrammers. My expectations were high from the start, and the accommodation lived up to them. I often find breakfasts to be too much, but here it was just the right amount, gentle on the body, and delicious. It was also convenient being close to tourist spots, and the service was excellent. I would like to stay here again when I visit Kanazawa.
