    Stating “Hotel (No Meals Included)” clearly makes it easier to understand.

    Thank you for your help. The Hotel staff’s service and hospitality were excellent. What was very disappointing was the Room amenities and setup. Despite the stormy spring weather every day, there was no humidifying air purifier; toothbrushes and face-washing items were not provided unless requested; there was no coffee or tea; and there was no mineral water. There were also too few towel hooks in the bathroom. Arriving at night after traveling and having to request each item one by one was extremely stressful. If staff have to deliver requested items to the Room each time, it felt like they would be better able to focus on other tasks. That became another source of stress for us as well. Although the Hotel says it is eco-friendly, it felt misguided. I did not want to stay again. Disappointing.

    A Moment on a Snowy Morning

    It was a snowy morning, and the view from the window was stunning—breakfast was a truly relaxing moment. The salmon Eggs Benedict and the mushroom risotto were exceptional. The only disappointment was that when I left my luggage before check-in, I was directed to use a sofa to take items out of my suitcase, but it was quite full; I would have appreciated being shown a baggage rack or similar option instead.

    I was surprised by the scene, as I hardly saw any Japanese guests! However, everyone was very warm and welcoming even when dining with children, allowing us to enjoy a peaceful meal without any tension. We only had breakfast during our stay, but it’s been a while since I found breakfast so delicious! I’d love to have it again! Having stayed at various Hotels in Kyoto, I felt that the bed here was the fluffiest of all!

    It was a last-minute reservation, but the room was comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel is in a relatively convenient location and offers good value for money. I would stay here again if I have the chance.

    The room was clean, comfortable, and relaxing.

    This is my second stay with my dog. I visit Kyoto regularly and change hotels each time, but among the pet-friendly hotels, many have issues with smell and cleanliness. However, this Hotel is clean, and my beloved dog seemed to have a calm stay. The bed was comfortable as well. I was able to enjoy breakfast slowly with my dog on the outdoor terrace. The staff had a pleasant demeanor, and I had a pleasant stay. The bread made on the first floor of the Hotel also looks delicious, and it's one of the things I look forward to. I would like to use it again.

    Good Points The staff at the rooftop bar were friendly and provided excellent service. Although it started to rain a little, they kindly brought the drinks to our Room. Such consideration was wonderful. There is a bakery on the first floor, so even without breakfast included, we could buy from the bakery and sit nearby to eat. Close to Kiyomizu Temple and Gion, very convenient. About 10 minutes by taxi from Kyoto Station, costing around 1500 yen. The Room was perfect. Bad Points First, the receptionist at the Hotel was unfriendly and lacked explanation. After checking in, the receptionist was doing something on the computer, but there was no "please wait a moment" or any communication, just silence for about 5 minutes. There was no explanation like "the elevator is this way," and I wondered if they could provide better service. I was surprised to receive such a cold attitude at a four-star Hotel for the first time. They were responding to the foreign guests checking in next to us with a bright and cheerful voice, so I don't know if it was because we were Japanese or because we were two women, but it was unpleasant. We had breakfast at the bottom of the stairs on the first floor, but everyone was unfriendly. It was unpleasant from the morning. Plates that were more than half full were taken away without a word. They were taken away quickly while we were still eating at the table. Unbelievable. It's better to just buy breakfast at the bakery. The bathroom smelled like sewage. It was a bit concerning. Most of the people we passed by were foreigners, so maybe they are cold to Japanese guests. There is no hospitality at all. The rooftop bar had light meals and was delicious, and the staff were all friendly, so we enjoyed it very much. Therefore, I recommend enjoying just the bar without staying at the Hotel.

    During check-in, it was crowded with people, and it took a long time to check in. The process was too inefficient. Additionally, there was a foreign staff member with poor language skills, which was unpleasant. Upon entering the Room, there was a strong smell of bleach. I think the amenities made of bamboo are nice and very Kyoto-like.

    This is a great place to travel with your dog!

    This time, we came to Kyoto for my husband's birthday trip and stayed with our family, including our two small dogs. We made a reservation for a birthday presentation and a birthday plate for the meal as an option the day before, and they accommodated our sudden request, which was very helpful. Both we and the dogs were truly satisfied. The meal at the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel was excellent. We chose the anniversary course, and among the various course meals we've had, it was a taste I would definitely want to repeat, and it was very moving. The price was reasonable, and it was a valuable time. The reservation for the terrace seating, where we could bring our dogs, was also very nice. By the way, even though our dogs are a bit timid and sometimes bark a little at people, there were many foreign guests, and the clientele was very good, and the staff did not show any displeasure, which was very appreciated. We would love to use it again.
