    Delicious cuisine, an Onsen, and warm hospitality in a registered tangible cultural property building surrounded by lush greenery

    I visited looking forward to staying at a registered tangible cultural property and enjoying the radium Onsen, and on top of that, the food was exceptionally delicious. The quiet, almost private atmosphere and the attentive yet unobtrusive hospitality made this a truly wonderful Ryokan stay that left me deeply relaxed. Thank you for taking a commemorative photo after checkout and sending it to me. It became a lovely anniversary memory. Looking at the photo, I’m already looking forward to visiting again in a different season.

    Although the property is old, the attentive service made our stay very comfortable. If I had to mention one thing, I would have liked a cold plunge bath. It had a wonderful, classic Ryokan atmosphere.

    Everything is wonderful.

    Everything was wonderful, from the warm welcome to the farewell. While everything was excellent, the meals and the beautifully maintained garden stood out in particular. The meals were carefully prepared with time and were truly delicious. The garden was very well cared for, and the fresh greenery was especially impressive. It was such a great Accommodation that I wanted to visit again with my parents, so I made a Reservation for November right away.

    The bath with a view of the waterfall was amazing.

    Our family of four stayed one night in the detached guesthouse. The bath while looking out at the waterfall was wonderful. The water temperature was just right, and we were able to truly relax. There is a table and sofa on the first floor, so we naturally spent most of our time downstairs. The second floor is the bedroom. The greenery seen through the windows is truly refreshing. We visited during the rainy season and were impressed by the beauty of the moss and how vibrant everything looked.

    Exceptional cuisine

    The seasonal ingredients were truly delicious and really captured the feeling of the season. We could feel the kindness and care in every detail. The atmosphere of the building was wonderful as well, making it a great memory.

    Private baths are excellent.

    We stayed for two nights. The accommodation, featuring stunning architectural designs from the Taisho era, was exceptional, and the food was absolutely delicious. We stayed in Kame-no-Ma (Room 19), which was conveniently located near the private bath. We made use of the private bath several times. On our first morning, we had signed up for an early morning tour to Lake Hyoko but unfortunately overslept and caused some inconvenience. As a couple who usually wakes up around 5 a.m., we let our guard down this time. However, we managed to join on the second morning as a "revenge" attempt! Thank you so much for your kind arrangements during that time. This swan tour is definitely worth signing up for, so if you're staying during winter, don't miss it!

    Enjoyed a relaxing and extraordinary experience.

    I stayed for 2 nights and 3 days, and the meals were so delicious and filling that I couldn't eat lunch. Instead, I enjoyed tofu at a nearby Kawakami Tofu shop. Since I stayed in a room with an onsen, I soaked in the bath multiple times and was able to relieve my fatigue. I wanted to relax in the lounge, but perhaps because I spent too much time in the bath, I couldn't find time to read a book leisurely. Next time I visit, I'd like to make some reading time. It would have been nice if coffee was available in the lounge, but there wasn't a coffee maker provided—that was slightly disappointing. Above all else, during my stay, the autumn leaves of red and yellow were so beautiful that I found myself taking pictures on my phone repeatedly.

    The service, room, meals, and bath were all excellent. However, it would be even better if the drinks in the room's refrigerator were complimentary. I would love to stay here again someday. This Ryokan has a rich history and is highly recommended.

    Happiness in a Historic Setting

    Thank you for hosting us on this special trip with our elderly parents, aged 92 and 90. We were delighted by the historical and expansive grounds, the charming architecture, the serene garden view (hoping for autumn leaves) from our comfortable detached Room, and the heartfelt meals! Everything exceeded our expectations. We also appreciated thoughtful touches like a slipper-free interior and the peaceful atmosphere with minimal disturbances. If we may suggest, it would be wonderful to consider utilizing a lounge space as a relaxing area and providing options for guests who may find certain amenities like shampoo unsuitable. That said, we are already looking forward to visiting again during autumn foliage or fresh greenery seasons. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We wish good health to everyone who warmly welcomed us, including the cheerful hostess who saw us off!

    Our trip to Niigata was for the Nagaoka Fireworks, and despite the difficulty of securing accommodation, we were absolutely satisfied with this place! When we saw the exterior of the building on IKYU.com, it had a charming historical feel, though honestly, we didn’t have high expectations for the facilities. However, upon staying there, we found it beautifully renovated to match the building’s character and experienced no inconvenience at all. The meals were truly delicious—everything we tried was exceptional. Even my usually critical parents couldn’t stop praising how tasty everything was. The simmered pork with plum sauce was especially memorable; our family still talks about how amazing it tasted. The staff were friendly yet maintained a professional distance that made interactions very comfortable. Since we're from the Tokai region, it's not an easy destination to visit frequently due to distance—but we'd love to return someday!

    A beautiful accommodation where fireflies flutter around.

    Each dish is carefully prepared and absolutely delicious. Rooms are scattered among the trees, surrounded by rich nature. At night, fireflies dance over the pond right in front of you. It is a wonderful accommodation where you can enjoy a quiet moment while feeling the history.

    We appreciate the thoughtfulness of our staff.

    After checking out, I started feeling unwell and was still not feeling better by dinner time. I was unsure what to do, but the staff kindly stored my meal in the refrigerator and wrapped it for me. Thanks to their thoughtfulness, I was able to enjoy it later that night when I felt better. Dinner was one of the highlights of my stay, so I am very grateful. This Ryokan is located on a spacious property surrounded by lush green trees, offering fresh air and a sense of escape from everyday life. While the exterior is an old historic building, the interior has been renovated for a comfortable stay. The Onsen was incredibly relaxing as well. According to locals nearby, many people visit this Onsen for its healing properties. Discovering this Ryokan made me want to visit Agano City—and I'm so glad I did! It became a truly wonderful memory for me.

    Had a wonderful time.

    A cultural heritage accommodation nestled in a quiet forest. Both the atmosphere and meals were absolutely wonderful. The private hot spring was not crowded, making it an excellent experience.

    It was an amazing experience.

    Stayed for a celebration. The service, cuisine, onsen, room, and scenery were all excellent. The most outstanding aspect was the service; the staff's thoughtful attention and perfectly balanced communication allowed us to relax without feeling any discomfort. Additionally, the attendant's genuine love for working at this ryokan was evident, which made us feel that it is truly a wonderful accommodation. This is a ryokan I would like to visit again throughout the changing seasons. Lastly, if I may make a suggestion: when requesting dishes to be cleared via intercom to reception, it might be convenient to have an option on the tablet for such requests as well. I look forward to asking the young master for a photo next time and am already excited about my next stay! Thank you for providing such an amazing experience!
