    Convenient Location

    I stayed at this Hotel to participate in the Hida Takayama Ultramarathon. It is conveniently located near the station, the Room was clean, and there is a large public bath, so I had a comfortable stay. The parking lot is also spacious and very convenient, and I would like to stay here again.

    Gratitude for the warm hospitality and anticipation for future meals

    The comfort of the Room and the warm hospitality from the staff were truly soothing, allowing me to enjoy a calm and relaxing holiday. I also visited the large public bath a little earlier than usual, which helped me avoid the crowds and soak at ease—it was a wonderful moment. As for the meals, I was satisfied with the dinner meat, as I could really appreciate the quality of the ingredients. However, unfortunately, the breakfast did not suit my taste at all, and I ended up leaving most of it. I feel very sorry about that given this valuable opportunity, but precisely because it is such a lovely Accommodation, I sincerely hope for improvements in breakfast quality. I am very satisfied with your hospitality overall, and I look forward to enjoying even better meals on my next visit.

    Japanese staff provide abundant and attentive service.

    First, I was surprised that most of the staff were Japanese. The check-in service was very polite and made me feel comfortable. The room was modern with a warm wooden touch, making it very pleasant to stay in, and the hotel-provided pajamas had a nice fabric texture. Although it was unfortunate that there were no open-air baths due to the location of the Onsen, I appreciated having milk prepared for us after using the private bath. When visiting Takayama, Hotel Around is definitely my top choice!

    It felt like staying at a hotel in the mountains overseas.

    The hotel was popular among international guests. The building design resembled that of a ski resort hotel (just my personal opinion). It seemed suitable for long-term stays, with laundry facilities available (though I didn’t use them as my stay was short). Check-out could be done via a monitor, making the process quick and easy. The public bath was also used by international guests, and perhaps because of this, the water temperature felt slightly lukewarm (not an issue though). There were English instructions posted in front of the public bath, which everyone seemed to check. One suggestion for improvement would be to add a note asking guests to remove their slippers before entering. Some people entered both the changing area and washing area with their slippers on, which caught my attention (though it might have been an isolated case). Other than that, I had a very comfortable stay. The staff kindly helped me find and reserve a dining spot where I enjoyed delicious food and created wonderful memories. Thank you very much!

    The service level between the Hotel and the restaurant is significantly different.

    I have used this Hotel multiple times since its opening. The staff's service has either significantly improved or I was fortunate with the staff this time, as they were very pleasant, kind, cheerful, and approachable, making the experience excellent. For dinner, I used an IKYU coupon at the restaurant; however, the inexperience and lack of communication from a female staff member made it quite unpleasant. Ordering from the menu required scanning a QR code with a smartphone, but since it wasn’t set up properly for our table, no matter how many times we scanned it, we couldn’t access the menu screen. When we finally managed to get to a screen, only the drink menu appeared. Even when asking for help from staff on how to proceed further, they couldn’t provide an answer and eventually had to call another staff member to take our order manually. It was unclear whether this system was convenient or inconvenient overall. As for red wine—it would be better served slightly chilled rather than at room temperature; there seems to be some confusion between room temperature and ambient temperature here. Despite having an impressive bar setup in place within the Hotel premises itself—there didn’t seem like there were knowledgeable bartenders around regarding alcohol expertise which left that impression lacking professionalism overall!

    We stayed with our children. The Japanese-style room was safe and comfortable. The large public bath was convenient, and the breakfast was excellent. Our kids enjoyed it too, so we will visit again.

    I stayed for one nig...

    I stayed for one night on a solo trip. It was very stylish and comfortable. The Good Local initiative is wonderful, and I think it would be even better if it were more incorporated into guest interactions.

    It was comfortable.

    Close to the station, with a modern and stylish Facility. It offers basic amenities but provides great value for money. If anything, a sauna and water balloon would be nice additions. Recommended for those seeking affordability and comfort.

    Sauna Available!

    It would have been perfect if there was a sauna! I made the Reservation thinking there was a sauna, but to my surprise, there wasn’t one! However, I quickly changed my mindset and relaxed my rain-soaked body. I visited your Hotel during my motorcycle journey around Japan, and I felt relieved when I arrived at your Hotel. When I asked a man about an izakaya (Japanese pub), he directed me to the wrong place. After wandering for some time and returning to the Hotel, we noticed an izakaya right in front of the Hotel! My friend and I couldn’t help but laugh at ourselves. The breakfast was delicious, and as we were about to depart, the rain that had been falling continuously stopped. From then on, our journey continued under clear skies! Finally, on August 8th, my trip around Japan came to a successful end!

    The Hida beef for dinner was tender and very delicious. The salad dressing was also tasty, so I bought some to take home. Breakfast, including Japanese-style seasoned rice, salmon, and Western-style soup, was all very enjoyable. It was unfortunate that the bread was too hard to eat. The guest room's bath with a washing area is a big plus. It's nice to relax and soak in the tub at your own pace.

    I stayed here again ...

    I stayed here again for the Spring Takayama Festival because I had a great impression from my previous visit. The main festival area, about a 10-minute walk away, was crowded, but the surroundings of the Hotel were quiet. The exclusive lounge on the 8th floor offered free access to alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, and snacks, which was excellent. For breakfast, I chose a Japanese set meal; both the rice and side dishes were delicious, allowing me to enjoy local cuisine to my satisfaction. The parking lot allowed free entry and exit, which was very convenient.

    Comfortable Hotel

    This is part of the Comfort Hotel chain. We stayed in a twin room as a couple to see the Spring Takayama Festival. The room amenities included only a hairbrush, dental kit, and body towel. There was no skincare set in the room, but the public bath had Kosé Sekkisei skincare products available. The shampoo and conditioner were also by Kosé, which was great. We ordered room service, which was reasonably priced and delicious, with sparkling wine provided as a complimentary service. Breakfast offered both Japanese and Western options with colorful and healthy dishes full of vegetables that gave us energy for the day ahead. They seemed to cater to inbound guests with gluten-free and vegan options available as well. The ticket holder for card keys or breakfast tickets and tote bags for moving around inside were adorned with cute illustrations. The walls near elevators on each floor featured Takayama folklore stories or illustrations, adding an enjoyable touch to our stay at this accommodation. We traveled by car this time, so it was convenient that parking came at a discounted rate; however, it’s also easily accessible by train since JR Takayama Station is just nearby. Miyagawa Morning Market and Takayama Jinya are within walking distance too! For those wanting to explore more places around town—rental bicycles are available. The only downside was that the air conditioning in our room had an unpleasant smell; we turned it off because we couldn’t tolerate it. Other than that issue though—we were satisfied overall—and would love staying here again when visiting Takayama!

    Conveniently located near the station, perfect for sightseeing.

    Conveniently located about a 5-minute walk from Takayama Station. The Onsen does not have an open-air bath, but the water quality has a slight smoothness and was pleasant. Please note that towels are not provided in the large public bath, so you need to bring one from your room. The staff greeted us warmly every time we passed by the front desk, which was very pleasant. For dinner, the course meal used to be served dish by dish when they first opened, but this time it was served on a tray all at once.

    A short trip to Takayama on a winter weekend

    We stayed as a couple on a weekend in December. The location is good, the facility is clean, and the service was excellent, allowing us to have a pleasant stay. The large public bath is clean and stylish, although there is no open-air bath. The only concern was the dinner venue. Most guests were in loungewear, creating a relaxed atmosphere, but visitors from outside the property were naturally in formal wear. Since there is no particular separation between the two groups in the restaurant, it felt a bit awkward. Overall, it is a very pleasant hotel, and I would like to use it again.

    Conveniently located near the station.

    Close to the station, clean, and had a pleasant stay. I used the private bath, and it was very nice. Highly recommended. The large public bath had few washing areas, so there were 2 or 3 foreigners waiting in line, making it crowded. You can check the bath's congestion on the TV screen, so I recommend checking and entering during less crowded times. I chose Japanese cuisine for breakfast, but the mixed rice was soggy, and the side dishes didn't suit my taste. I thought it might have been better to buy rice balls or bread at a nearby convenience store and eat in the Room. Other than that, I was satisfied.

    It was a modern Business Hotel.

    The building had a luxurious feel, and the check-in was modern and clean with a touch panel. The Onsen on the second floor made my skin smooth, which was nice, but the relaxation space after exiting was filled with a smell like grilled meat, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable. It seemed like the smell from the restaurant below was coming up. That was the only thing that was very disappointing.

    It is a comfortable hotel.

    The hard aspects like the guest rooms and the soft aspects like the hospitality and service were overall simple and comfortable. I liked the cute text and illustrations in the guides found throughout. The breakfast was also very delicious, but the portion was large, and I couldn't finish it. There was a water server in the elevator hall, and room service was available, but it would have been nice to have some water or beer in the fridge for convenience. Still, it's a hotel I can recommend.

    I booked a hotel close to the station. The staff were kind, and it was a comfortable environment. I was surprised by the large number of foreign guests. Takayama is popular among foreigners, isn't it? The breakfast was very delicious.

    Stylish hotel

    The facility is stylish, and the front desk staff are all kind. - When I called to ask if the beds in the twin room could be pushed together, they responded politely. This was appreciated as we were co-sleeping. - When I asked about having a meal in the old town early in the morning, they provided various suggestions. - When I requested a bag for ice for icing purposes, they lent me a bag plus a towel. The room has a chic color scheme with fluffy beds. Although the black furniture was a bit hard to figure out intuitively, there are USB charging ports by the TV stand and bedside, as well as a C plug charging port and outlet on the TV stand side, so you will never have trouble charging! I also enjoyed viewing the original tourist attraction map in the lobby and the nursery rhyme boards on each floor. The public bath might be small for a hotel of this size, with six washing stations. The bathtub is large, but the water was a bit hot. The parking lot is paid.

    The interior is very clean. It has a simple and calm design. The room also feels very stylish and gives a sense of being away from the ordinary. Although it is right next to the station, the sound of trains running is not bothersome at all. Breakfast is not a buffet but served in a multi-tiered box like a treasure chest, and it was very delicious. I recommend this hotel.
