    We had a very satisfying stay.

    I stayed for one night with my parents (three of us total) with both dinner and breakfast included. The Accommodation had a calm atmosphere centered around hinoki cypress, and I felt truly relaxed while enjoying the scent and warmth of the wood. The French dinner was carefully prepared dish by dish, and I was completely satisfied with both the presentation and the taste. Breakfast was also delicious, made with local ingredients, so I thoroughly enjoyed the meals throughout my stay. I also used the on-site public bath; since it was a weekday it wasn’t crowded, which allowed me to soak at a leisurely pace. Most memorable of all was the staff’s hospitality. Everyone greeted us with a smile and kindness, and their thoughtful attention to detail made me very happy. I felt comfortable from start to finish, and it was such a wonderful place that it naturally made me want to come back. My family loved it as well, and it became a great memory for us all.

    I had wanted to stay...

    I had wanted to stay here for a long time, as it is the Accommodation founded by Aman’s founder. It met my expectations, and I had a very satisfying stay. However, at dinner we were seated with a group that included a baby, so if possible I would have preferred such groups to be accommodated in a private room. Other than that, I had a pleasant stay.

    A stay that makes you want to come back again

    I stayed for one night in late April. The building’s exterior, the atmosphere as soon as I stepped inside, and the staff’s hospitality—everything was wonderful. There were many things to see and enjoy throughout the property. This time I stayed in a maisonette-style Room. The compact space was thoughtfully and elegantly designed, with a warm feel. The tones of the wood and the way the light came in created a calming atmosphere. Since the bed is located right near the entrance, some guests may find it refreshingly unique. The small courtyard garden also let me feel the season, which was lovely. Upstairs, there was a sunken kotatsu set into tatami flooring and a spacious balcony area that felt very open. The yukimi shoji screens also created an especially beautiful ambiance. The in-room bath has an unusual layout without a door, but it wasn’t an issue at all and felt relaxing. The bath at the affiliated Accommodation right across from us had vivid tiles and even a sauna, which was wonderful. One of us had slightly hurt our leg, and we truly appreciated your thoughtful care in preparing a chair for us. Both dinner and breakfast were beyond words—completely satisfying. The food and hospitality were deeply comforting to both body and mind. It’s a place that made me want to return to spend another slow, peaceful time. Thank you very much for such a wonderful stay.

    A wonderful and memorable accommodation.

    We stayed at this accommodation for our honeymoon, just the two of us. It was a truly memorable and wonderful accommodation. First, the meals. Every dish amazed us. The quality of the ingredients was outstanding, and the use of broth and spices showcased the chef's skill and creativity in an exceptional way. The sommelier also provided detailed explanations, allowing us to enjoy wine by the glass. Additionally, the dining space was fantastic—though located near a corridor, it felt spacious and warm without any sense of disturbance. The tableware was beautiful; some pieces were from a nearby island's pottery studio, which we loved so much that we purchased them. The room had a two-story design that seemed thoughtfully created to ensure comfort in every space. We enjoyed it thoroughly until just before check-out time. One minor point was that there wasn’t a door on the shower booth; however, both the bathtub and booth were spacious enough that it wasn’t an issue. The warmth of the staff was also remarkable. They showed great care for my pregnant wife with maximum consideration. During meals, every staff member we spoke with knew about each dish in detail—it felt like they worked with genuine love for what they do. From meals to ambiance to hospitality, this stay left an unforgettable impression among all accommodations we've experienced so far. We would love to visit Setoda again just to return here!

    My first time in Setouchi.

    Plan your stay on a Seto Inland Sea island! I chose Ikuchijima after discovering Azumi Setoda. I booked a plan with breakfast and dinner included, but later received a notice that "due to a group reservation, Western course meals cannot be provided on that day." They offered Japanese cuisine at another location, but I decided to adjust my travel dates instead. It turned out to be the perfect decision. Each dish in the course meal was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed wine pairings while listening to the sommelier's recommendations. The next morning's breakfast was also delightful; however, it was slightly disappointing to hear loud voices from the kitchen staff and clattering of utensils, especially since dinner had been flawless. The room was stylish yet incredibly comfortable. The private bath in the room was spacious and open, while yubune public bath right in front of the hotel added convenience. It might be indulgent of me, but I wished for beverages other than water in yubune’s lounge exclusively for guests. All staff members were welcoming with warm smiles, making my stay stress-free. After checkout, they kindly stored my additional souvenirs purchased during shopping—this gesture was greatly appreciated. I would love to visit both Ikuchijima and Azumi Setoda again someday.     Excellent, but it can be even better.

    The accommodation's building, design, built-in furniture in the rooms, hinoki bath, service, and location are something to be proud of in Japan. Perhaps because of this reputation, there are almost no Japanese guests; it feels like a foreign country as it is mostly occupied by Westerners. This speaks volumes about its high evaluation. However, since we intentionally did not make a reservation for meals at the accommodation to explore dining options in town, we almost became "dinner refugees." It would be great if you could offer a simple set meal service for dinner similar to the breakfast tray provided to guests. Additionally, we rented bicycles and made a round trip to Omi Island's shrine. This was also fantastic! However, seeing many rental bikes from foreign brands like GIANT and TERN made us envious. Considering your guest demographic, offering premium bicycle rentals would make this accommodation even more attractive. With high expectations for further improvements, I rate it 4 stars!

    Wife's Birthday

    We stayed to celebrate my wife's birthday. Since we had our one-and-a-half-year-old daughter with us, they prepared a private room for dinner, allowing us to enjoy the course without worrying about other guests. They accommodated our detailed requests for our daughter's meal and also prepared a bouquet as a gift for my wife, allowing us to have a wonderful time. The refined Japanese-style space of the guest room was particularly impressive, and the room was spacious, allowing us to relax. My wife also liked it and mentioned wanting to visit regularly. Having used the bath and surrounding facilities in January, there were fewer cycling guests, allowing us to enjoy a leisurely time. We look forward to using it again soon.

    I was able to spend a relaxing time.

    We stayed for two nights. We enjoyed the flavorful dishes that made the most of Setouchi's ingredients. Thanks to the attentive care of the staff, we were able to have a pleasant time. Thank you very much.

    I had a great time.

    I used the property to relax at the end of the year. The room had a wooden scent the moment I entered, which was soothing. Since it was a maisonette type, the lower floor had a calm lighting where I could relax on the bed, and the upper floor had natural light where I could chat or have snacks at the sunken kotatsu, allowing for a versatile and enjoyable stay. The bath had a cypress indoor bath, and the floor was equipped with underfloor heating, so on a very cold day, I could stretch out and warm up slowly. There was one toilet on each of the first and second floors, and since we stayed as two people, we decided on which toilet to use, allowing for privacy-conscious use. Both the service and facilities were not overly luxurious, and the wooden-based design and maisonette type allowed for a relaxing stay as if I were at home. There was nothing particularly bad, but if I had to mention something, it would be that the corridor to the room was cold, which was expected in winter, and, as is the case with most hotels, the lighting was slightly insufficient when doing makeup. Overall, I was very satisfied and had a great time. Thank you very much.

    It was a property that beautifully utilized an old mansion with high-quality materials. However, the room's chair was a floor seat utilizing the step, which was difficult for the elderly to sit on. I didn't order dinner, so I wished there was a convenience store nearby. The breakfast was exquisite.
