    Delighted by the cuisine

    The dishes made excellent use of Shiga’s local specialties, and every one of them was so thoughtfully prepared that there’s no way we could recreate them at home. It was just a few seconds’ walk to Lake Biwa, and our child was delighted as well. If I could make one request, I’d really appreciate it if you could install an air conditioner in the changing room— it was so hot that we were drenched in sweat after the bath. I recommended this place to someone I know, and they’ll be staying with you over the September holiday weekend. Thank you in advance. Someday, I’d love to come back in winter and enjoy a meal cooked over the irori hearth again.

    A Quiet Gourmet Accommodation

    A gourmet Accommodation offering breathtaking views from the bedroom and dining room, along with a peaceful atmosphere where you can faintly hear the sound of the waves. The sweetfish, carp, and freshwater shrimp were all delicious, and not only dinner but breakfast was also exceptionally high quality. On the way back, we stopped by the Kohoku Wild Bird Center and were able to see a birdwatching paradise through a telescope.

    A wonderful view of Lake Biwa and the morning sun.

    I stayed at Fukudaya for my birthday trip, a place I had been curious about for a long time. Thank you very much for kindly accommodating my meal requests and arranging a cake from the time of my Reservation. The meals, made with local ingredients, were all delicious, and I was able to enjoy them at a relaxed pace. The view of Lake Biwa from my Room—what I was most looking forward to—was wonderful. I was able to watch the exact moment the sun rose, and it was such a beautiful景色 that I could have looked at it forever. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

    We stayed here for o...

    We stayed here for our last trip before the baby arrives. As I was pregnant, we consulted in advance about meals and heating, and you responded to each question with great care, which made us feel at ease to Reserve. This was one of the Accommodations I had long admired, and I was especially looking forward to the view from the window. The moment we were shown to our room, my husband and I couldn’t help but gasp at the breathtaking scenery. Dinner, which we had been eagerly anticipating, was beautifully presented and offered flavors unlike anything we had ever experienced; the plating and tableware were also memorable. Breakfast was of course delicious as well—especially the rice, miso soup, and eel. All staff were exceptionally courteous and attentive while maintaining a comfortable sense of distance. We spent two very peaceful days in a truly wonderful space. We would love to visit again once our child is born. Thank you very much.
