A Blissful Getaway in the Forest

I had a very comfortable 3-day, 2-night stay in a quiet setting. The meals were delicious, and the nightly mini concerts in the lobby were truly relaxing. As I was traveling solo, it wasn’t cheap, but the Facility and the quality of the cuisine more than justified it. If I had to mention one thing, the toilet paper in the Room was thin and a bit inconvenient to use. It was a wonderful and comfortable Hotel that will likely make me want to return again in summer.

    About Meals

Breakfast felt lacking. When someone has an upset stomach, aren’t rice porridge and miso soup necessary? I would like you to offer warm meals and include more Japanese-style options.

    High satisfaction.

We stayed as a family of five. The guest room and Facilities were neither particularly good nor bad. We appreciated that a table for five was properly reserved for us at dinner. Dinner was excellent in both quality and quantity, and we were very satisfied. It rained this time so we couldn’t go for a walk, but next time we’d love to take walks in the morning and evening. Thank you to the staff for your warm smiles. Also, the homemade gelato is delicious.

This Accommodation allowed us to fully relax and enjoy a wonderful meal without any worries.

I stayed at this Accommodation as a well-deserved solo getaway to escape the daily routine of housework and childcare. It was my first time trying an order-style buffet, and it brought me far more happiness than I ever imagined. Since I usually focus on my child’s meals and put my own last, I think it was a bit of a rebound—I happily kept eating for about 2.5 hours, refilling my favorite appetizers whenever I wanted, and going back for dessert again and again… It was an experience you simply can’t have with a set course meal. As an adult, you really do “taste with your eyes” too: having dishes beautifully plated right in front of me at the counter with perfectly matched herbs gave me a different kind of satisfaction from an ordinary buffet. Even though I thought I might feel overly full, there were plenty of vegetables as well, so by the next morning I had a good appetite again—and went back for seconds once more. The soup was especially delicious! Because the Accommodation clearly puts so much effort into the dining experience, other aspects of service felt fairly simple by comparison. The bath facilities were great: high-quality Onsen water and a spacious public bath, plus an open-air bath in the public area that I really enjoyed. Personally, the Onsen felt good enough that I didn’t feel strongly about needing a private open-air bath. One thing: since there is also a sauna in the public bath area, I would have loved to have a water dispenser near the changing room. As this is an all-inclusive Accommodation, I hope to see that added in the future. I’d also like to visit other properties in the Ichinobo Group someday. Thank you very much.

    Excellent.

The meals are outstanding! Instead of a self-serve setup, each dish is brought to your table when you order, so you can fully enjoy the presentation as well. Since there aren’t many guests staying, the restaurant doesn’t get crowded, and the relaxed atmosphere is simply amazing. Breakfast is delicious too. We also enjoyed the complimentary ice cream and drinks in the lobby, including alcoholic beverages. There are four private open-air baths, but they’re not reservation-based, so it depends on timing whether you can use one. We managed to use one in the morning. This time we stayed for one night and two days, but next time we’d like to enjoy a Multiple Night Stay and take it easy. It’s a Hotel we definitely want to visit again.

A stay you’ll want to repeat

The unlimited use of the private baths was amazing. At first, I was disappointed that there was no place to wash, but I understood that it helps keep things moving so more guests can use them. I couldn’t try Maru until the end, so I’m looking forward to it next time. The meals were also excellent. We tried every dish, and for a couple, one portion each was more than enough in both variety and quantity—and everything tasted great. One small disappointment was that the changing area for the private baths had a bit of dust on the ceiling and pillars. It’s a little far from Tokyo, but we’d love to come back again.

It was a Hotel that makes you want to book a Multiple Night Stay.

The staff provided polite and very friendly service. The meals were stylish and delicious. There were various activities to enjoy within the Hotel premises, but one night was definitely not enough! I would love to stay here again, and it’s such a wonderful Hotel that I’d want to book a Multiple Night Stay next time!

    Accommodation in Harmony with Nature

An adult forest Onsen resort where you can spend time as if living in a villa, nestled within the vast forest of Zao Quasi-National Park. Enjoy not only the natural surroundings but also the warm hospitality of our staff and our baths (large public bath and riverside open-air bath). The riverside open-air bath, in particular, evokes the feeling of being immersed in Oirase Gorge. Meals are served à la carte with each dish carefully prepared and presented to perfection. Using seasonal vegetables, fish, and meat from Zao, dishes are freshly cooked by chefs right before your eyes with a smile—offering 120% satisfaction. The taste, presentation, and aroma were all impeccable. After dinner, enjoy a mini live concert at the lounge (on that day featuring standard jazz numbers from the 1930s). In the morning before breakfast, take a stroll through our garden to experience nature's breath—the scents and sounds of birds making you feel one with nature. Breakfast includes fresh vegetable salad and smoothies from Zao that rejuvenate your body along with unforgettable French toast. The smiles and service provided by our staff were exceptional in every way. I would love to visit again! Each Facility under Ichinobo Group has its own unique concept which left me deeply impressed. Thank you very much!

    A seasonal accommodation to visit.

This was our second visit this year. During our previous stay in spring, we thoroughly enjoyed the meals and the onsen, which made us want to return in a different season. Once again, we savored the excellent meals and onsen while already planning our next visit. Of course, the staff's hospitality was impeccable, making our stay very comfortable. We look forward to enjoying this as our "regular accommodation" for a while. Thank you very much. Next time, we hope to visit around early summer!

We were able to relax in luxury at a leisurely pace.

From the moment we stepped inside the entrance, we were surrounded by a relaxing atmosphere and were able to unwind throughout our 3-day, 2-night stay. The wood-scented bedroom and lobby, the Onsen in nature, the carefully selected meals, and the staff’s gentle smiles and kind service all made for a truly happy time. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again in a different season.

    Smiling Staff

This is my third time using a Facility in the Ichinobo group. Here, I found the staff to have the warmest smiles. At the previous location, perhaps due to being busy, there were hardly any smiles, and even ordering food felt awkward—I thought that was normal. However, here it was completely different; even as a solo traveler, I could fully enjoy my meals without any hesitation. I would love to visit again!

A Relaxing Time After a Long While

From check-in to check-out, I was very satisfied with the attentive service and hospitality of the staff. The facility was quiet and peaceful, allowing for a relaxing stay. The meals were delightful, featuring not only meat and fish but also dishes made with fresh local vegetables. I would love to visit again during a season when I can experience the beauty of seasonal changes. Previously, I enjoyed gelato made with Kenkonichi sake lees—it was incredibly delicious! If this menu becomes available again, it would be wonderful if you could announce it on your website.

    Highly satisfied

How many times have I returned here? It may not be flashy, but I love the natural and relaxing atmosphere, like a villa in the forest. And once you experience the all-inclusive service, you'll be hooked. Above all, the food is absolutely delicious!

A Fine Dining Restaurant in the Forest

The cuisine was exceptional, comparable to a high-end restaurant. The use of sauces was particularly impressive. After a relaxing bath, we took a stroll through the forest before dinner. It worked up our appetite, making the meal even more enjoyable. We visited in May and are looking forward to returning around October next time.

    Hotel with Delicious Meals

The meals were impressively memorable in a good way. The variety of main dishes was abundant, and being able to enjoy multiple servings of the same dish was a first-time experience for me. The gelato served in the lounge was just like something you'd find at a specialty shop, which was delightful. The private baths were numerous and freely accessible, which added extra points to the experience. With its vast grounds offering mountain views from the Room and allowing guests to enjoy nature while staying at the Hotel, I would love to visit again during a different season to see another beautiful landscape.

The perfect moment to relax and unwind

The building itself may not be modern, but the lobby and guest rooms have been renovated, offering a comfortable stay. The onsen provides a relaxing experience to soothe your fatigue. Above all, the meals are truly delicious and leave nothing to be desired. In the open kitchen, unlike typical buffets, each dish is carefully plated by skilled chefs, making it visually appealing as well as tasty. Additionally, the head chef's hospitality was exceptional; when the restaurant calmed down, they visited each table to greet guests personally and engage in conversation. As an all-inclusive accommodation, you can enjoy drinks and gelato in the lobby tailored to your preferences in addition to dining at the restaurant. Without needing to step outside, I had a thoroughly satisfying time within the accommodation itself. I look forward to visiting again!

I relaxed and enjoyed my stay.

I had visited for a day-use Onsen before the pandemic, but this was my first time staying after it was renovated into an all-inclusive accommodation. The original building has been beautifully renovated, making it very comfortable! The excellent Onsen combined with great hospitality made for a truly enjoyable experience. We went on a weekday to keep costs low, so I didn’t expect any events, but there were activities like garden tours, live performances after dinner, and morning yoga. They even provided sunflower seeds to scatter at the terrace feeding station (a woodpecker came!). Wearing relaxed indoor attire and being able to eat as much as you want from your favorite menu items felt casual and fun... Thank you to all the staff!

A Hotel with Excellent Meals and Open-Air Baths!

I stayed for the live kitchen and onsen experience. Upon check-in, I was delighted to receive a welcome drink and light snacks like ice cream. The onsen's indoor bath was spacious and relaxing, but it felt cold after getting out, making it uncomfortable to wash up leisurely. Perhaps the large space makes it harder to maintain warmth? The sauna was dry, so those who prefer a humid sauna might find it lacking. Dinner started with light snacks at 4:30 PM, followed by a set menu prepared in the live kitchen. It felt amazing to enjoy freshly made course meals! The food quality was excellent; everything tasted delicious, especially the Zao beef steak—it was outstanding. From appetizers to the main course, every dish was perfect and exciting! Not only that but there were plenty of drink options—more than any other accommodation I've visited before—which made it even more enjoyable. However, I love Japanese sake and unfortunately couldn't have my preferred one as they had run out despite asking nearby staff for more—this was disappointing. The outdoor open-air bath I looked forward to most wasn't available that evening due to full bookings, so I went first thing in the morning instead. Soaking in an onsen with a clear stream right before my eyes was truly exceptional! Breakfast also exceeded expectations with delicious offerings like Zao apple juice and Zao butter yogurt bread—they brought me happiness! My husband prefers Japanese-style breakfasts though; he wished there had been Miyagi's tasty rice or miso soup available. Everything about this accommodation impressed me—it has become one of my favorite places I'd love to visit again someday. Thank you very much!

A property where adults can relax leisurely.

This was my first time using this Property. I would give full marks to everything about this Property. I've stayed at several all-inclusive Properties before, but in terms of cost performance, I felt this one was at an outstanding level. The meals were particularly impressive, with carefully prepared dishes and delicious vegetables that left a strong impression. The bath was also satisfying and thoroughly enjoyable. Additionally, the staff's service was reassuring. I would like to visit again in a different season next time. This is a Property I will definitely return to.

I was able to fully enjoy the snow-viewing bath.

From Sendai Station, I took the express bus to Togatta Onsen, entered Kami no Yu, and then took a taxi to Yutomori-san. Upon arrival, I immediately went to the garden in the falling snow. Maru was often occupied, probably because it has a sauna, but Shikaku's onsen was the best. Although there was only mineral water in the room and the free drink corner in the lobby had time restrictions, it seemed to be well-equipped compared to similar properties. However, I felt that all-inclusive is still challenging. It was unfortunate that there was no shuttle service, and while I understand that the meals cannot accommodate allergies, having at least a contamination chart would be appreciated and might increase usage. The staff provided a pleasant hospitality experience. Togatta Onsen had great water.

    I had a relaxing time.

It was a cold snowy day, but the staff created a wonderful atmosphere by lighting a bonfire outside and offering hot wine. While waiting for the private bath at the yoga house, we enjoyed playing Go and Othello. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious. At night, we relaxed by the bonfire in the lounge, which helped us unwind from daily stress. The Room was very clean and comfortable. The staff provided excellent service throughout our stay. It was a truly wonderful stay.

    Mori no Kani-san

I stayed at Komorebi Hanarekan. The room was spacious and the view from the window was nice. The all-inclusive Western-style meals for breakfast and dinner were visually appealing and tasted great. Since I stayed in the latter half of November, it was cold at night, and there were many places in the corridor to the large public bath without walls or window glass, making it very cold. The large public bath was too spacious, and it was cold even while taking a shower. During this time of year, the nights are very chilly, so I would like the windows of the large public bath to be closed to some extent.

Relax at the restaurant and lobby lounge.

I went with my elderly parents. Since it is not a large-scale hotel, it was convenient for my elderly parents to go anywhere by themselves, such as the room, indoor bath, lobby lounge, and restaurant. The open-air bath along the river in the annex requires a few minutes of walking outside, so we used it during daylight with my parents who have concerns about their legs. The view of the slightly colored trees and the river flowing below was very nice and wonderful. The private bath operates on a system where you can enter if there is a tag available. There is a monitor in the lobby showing the availability of tags, but if someone else takes the tag before you reach it, it becomes a wasted effort, so I hope that can be improved. From the time of arrival, you can enjoy drinks, snacks, and ice cream in the lobby lounge, and from 4:30 PM, the restaurant opens, allowing you to enjoy a variety of drinks before dinner. You can repeatedly refresh yourself by sweating in the onsen and quenching your thirst with delicious drinks, and we ended up having a great time chatting in the restaurant and lobby lounge. Next time, I would like to have a relaxing multiple night stay.

The cuisine might be the best in Tohoku.

It feels like you can enjoy several main dishes of French cuisine. The same goes for breakfast. Dinner starts around 4:30. The downside might be the small TV and the lack of bath amenities.

    Great, great, great satisfaction!

A mother-daughter trip to Togatta Onsen. To say the least, it was the best, cost-effective, and a Property I would like to visit again and recommend to others. Having stayed at numerous Stays, this Property had the highest overall rating among all the ones I've stayed at so far. Above all, the vegetable-rich meals were truly delicious and impressive. I regretted that my stomach wasn't a bit bigger... haha. We conquered all four private baths that let you feel the great outdoors, and were extremely satisfied with the delicious drinks and meals! If I had to point out something that could be improved... The private baths have no time restrictions and are not cleaned between users, so I think it would be better to have new bath mats available. The wet bath mats were disappointing. If there were baskets to put the bath mats in before and after use, it would be more pleasant to use. Also, it was disappointing that the grand piano in the lovely lounge was very dusty. Both the Facility and the Room were clean and well-maintained, so if only that could be improved, it would be perfect. The staff's service, the food, and the scenery were all so excellent that I want to visit every season. Thank you very much for a truly elegant and wonderful healing time. m(__)m

I was surprised at first because I went without knowing about all-inclusive services. The gelato after check-in was delightful. I enjoyed a walk feeling the nature, the open-air bath, and the stylish and delicious meals... It was a satisfying moment enjoying freshly made dishes. The bath was a bit lukewarm, perhaps? But I like it that way. The breakfast was also wonderful. I definitely want to visit again.

    Finally completed the Ichinobo Group.

Since transportation is by car, it was difficult to stay at Yutomori-san, but this was my first stay. A taxi can be arranged from the Togatta bus stop for about 1600 yen one way, so it wasn't as inconvenient as I thought. In terms of usability, it is a larger Hotel than Daikon no Hana, so if it is fully booked, it is difficult to secure a private bath, and there are generally a lot of people in the service area. The food is just right and the hospitality is satisfactory, but it seemed like a Property more suitable for enjoying with family or friends rather than relaxing alone.
