    No major complaints, but

    The Facility is new and the Room is clean, but there are various details that are not well taken care of. The TV remote batteries were drained and dead, and while it was nice that the Room had an iron and ironing board, the iron itself didn’t work. The number of amenities also wasn’t consistent, so overall it felt disjointed. It may be better suited to foreign guests who can clearly make complaints.

    A stay you’ll want to repeat.

    In February, this was my third stay here. The front desk staff are as kind and courteous as ever, making check-in pleasant and giving me the feeling of coming back to a second home. In addition to the lotion and cream I receive at every check-in, I was also given a mini lip balm. The large public bath is available from 15:00, and you can check how crowded it is on the in-room TV, so it’s great to go when it’s quiet. (You can also check the coin laundry.) There were many international guests, but most seemed to follow good manners. When I requested cleaning while I was out, everything was cleaned perfectly—thank you very much. I look forward to staying with you again when I visit Kyoto.

    Just one stop from Kyoto Station, yet very quiet.

    As soon as you exit Umekoji-Nishi Station, the Hotel is right in front of you, making getting there very smooth. There’s also a convenience store on the first floor, which is very handy. The Room was clean and the amenities were more than sufficient. Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options, and I think both Japanese and Western choices will satisfy everyone. There was also a large public bath, but this time I used the bathroom in my Room. I’d like to try it next time. There are also a nearby park, aquarium, and railway museum, so it’s recommended for families—children can play safely and relax. It’s just one stop from Kyoto Station, yet it was quiet at night, which was great. I’d like to stay here again.

    Conveniently located...

    Conveniently located just one station away from Kyoto Station, this Hotel features a large public bath, which is a delightful addition. The breakfast was also delicious. However, it was slightly disappointing that there were no amenities provided in the public bath.

    A Hotel You'll Want to Call Home

    This time, I stayed for a 2-night, 3-day Multiple Night Stay. The front desk staff were refreshing, kind, polite, and always smiling. They handled foreign guests with fluent English and displayed the professionalism of stylish hotel staff. The access is convenient—just a 2-3 minute walk from Umekoji-Kyotonishi Station, one stop from JR Kyoto Station! The aquarium and railway museum are very close by, along with a park perfect for families with children. Early in the morning, I visited Nishi Honganji Temple. It was still dark before dawn but taking a taxi felt unnecessary since buses weren’t running yet. I found ROOP next to Umekoji-Kyotonishi Station and used it to reach Kōshō-ji Temple’s bicycle parking area in about 5 minutes for just ¥55. Although this time my Plan didn’t include breakfast, there’s a FamilyMart directly connected to the Hotel and a Starbucks next door that opens at 7 AM. If you cross through the park and over the street, you’ll find Shizuya—a Kyoto specialty bakery—also open from 7 AM with an eat-in space. The convenience of checking bath or laundry congestion on TV is amazing! During my daytime outings, my Room was cleaned thoroughly with perfectly made beds. Every visit here is always pleasant. Truly grateful. This Hotel makes me want to live here! Thank you again for your hospitality!

    I stayed here for a ...

    I stayed here for a trip focused on visiting the Railway Museum. The lobby had a "Densha de GO" game, and the breakfast buffet featured train-themed plates, which delighted my train-loving son. Although we didn’t use the public bath, the room's private bath was separate from the toilet, making it convenient even with children. On the day after our stay, we visited the museum and were able to leave our luggage at the accommodation until our return. There was no dining option within the hotel at night, so I gave it 3 stars as I wished there were meals available in-house. What my child enjoyed most was a park across from the hotel that had large playground equipment and an athletic area. We played there briefly upon arrival in the evening. The park also has a small train running through it. My child wanted to go back again, so we spent time playing there in the morning before heading to the museum when it opened. This is an excellent accommodation for visiting the Railway Museum!

    Convenient Hotel

    A hotel conveniently located right in front of the station, just one stop away from Kyoto Station. With Umekoji Park right across, Kyoto Aquarium visible from the hotel entrance, and the Railway Museum also within sight, it offers a prime location for exploring Umekoji. Additionally, you can experience historical sites related to the Shinsengumi such as Shimabara Omon and Wachigaiya Ruins nearby. This was our second stay here and we traveled as a group of three this time. The hotel offers Triple Rooms, which made our stay very comfortable. While the room had a bathroom with a washing area, we enjoyed relaxing in the spacious public bath to unwind after a long day. The breakfast buffet features both Japanese and Western dishes, and if requested, breakfast vouchers can be exchanged for lunch—a thoughtful service for those who prefer to sleep in. The convenience store is directly connected to the lobby through just one door—very handy! Being one stop away from Kyoto Station allowed us to escape the hustle and bustle while enjoying a refreshing stay.

    Refreshing!

    Thank you for taking care of us during our 2-night, 3-day Multiple Night Stay. The front desk staff were kind and polite. Even when we requested a taxi at 5 AM, they arranged it immediately. When we asked for the Room to be cleaned during our daytime outing, it was done thoroughly and impeccably—truly refreshing! The public bath is not an Onsen but has a perfect water temperature. Body soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryers are provided. There’s even a silicone(?) bag in the Room to carry towels and clothes to the bath—very convenient! We also received a set of facial cleanser, lotion, and cream. Bathing hours are from 3 PM to 2 AM and from 6 AM to 10 AM in the morning—I ended up bathing three times a day because it was so relaxing! We opted for breakfast this time: okara (soy pulp), simmered hijiki seaweed, scrambled eggs, chirashi sushi (scattered sushi), natto (fermented soybeans), croquettes, French toast, seaweed salad with corn toppings; coffee; soft-serve ice cream; warabi mochi; brownies—and more dishes than I can list here—all delicious! My favorite was the fragrant yuzu-flavored okara. The dining staff secured seats for us and took care of clearing dishes after meals—you just leave them on your table when finished! Breakfast starts at 6 AM—a great way to start your day. From our Room window: views of a distant five-story pagoda with bullet trains passing in front of it—and directly below is a park where children play—a fantastic location that feels uplifting! At reception were both younger staff members as well as experienced veterans who paid close attention to every detail—true professionals embodying what Hotel service should be like: gentle kindness paired with exceptional attentiveness. In conclusion: thank you so much again for making these two nights truly special—we’ll definitely be back soon without question!

    Family

    If you’d rather avoid family-friendly places, this one is very foreigner-friendly—about 90% of the guests are international. It’s nice that you can choose a women’s amenity set (which you don’t often see elsewhere), a body wash towel, and a bathtub with a washing area. Breakfast was surprisingly varied, but for some reason it didn’t have much flavor. Still, I got to fully enjoy the Umekoji area, so overall it was fine.

    It was a clean and nice Hotel at an affordable price.

    Just one station from Kyoto Station, conveniently located near the station with a convenience store in the building. Though compact, it was a clean and pleasant Hotel. A bus stop is also nearby. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. With facilities like a coin laundry and a large public bath, this quality at this price makes it worth revisiting. Clean and bright, it's highly recommended for women as well. I added breakfast outside of the Plan for 2,200 yen. It felt reasonable but could be improved with more Kyoto-style dishes like obanzai even if the variety is reduced. The bed and Room were spacious with great sleeping comfort. I appreciated having pajamas instead of stiff yukata robes, which helped reduce luggage. Overall, it was an excellent high-value Hotel that left me satisfied!

    Would love to stay again!

    The Room was clean, spacious, and very satisfying! Since I stayed on a weekday, the large public bath was not crowded, allowing me to relax. It was comfortable. I didn't use the dining service, so I can't comment on that, but there is a convenience store on the first floor. The Room description mentioned "windows in two directions," but it seemed like there was only one side with windows.

    This was my third visit to Kyoto and my third stay here. This time, I didn’t use the dining service as I had slow mornings and late nights, but I had a very relaxing stay. If given the chance, I would love to stay here again.

    It was a convenient Hotel.

    My son and his friends stayed here for their high school graduation trip. They were very satisfied with the quality and quantity of the meals. The staff's attentiveness was also greatly appreciated. However, they mentioned that the body towel did not lather well, making it difficult to wash. Thank you for your kind assistance from the email exchanges before their stay.

    I stayed here again after a long time and loved the view of Kyoto Tower from the room window. The room was clean, convenient, and the breakfast buffet was delicious. The surroundings were quiet, allowing for a relaxing stay.

    The Room is clean.

    Somehow! The room was hot, and even after adjusting with the remote control, it felt hot and suffocating, making it difficult to sleep. There was also a sense of pressure, and the TV remote control was unresponsive. I could see Kyoto Tower from the room, but when I sat on the chair, there was a sheet on the window for privacy reasons, so I couldn't enjoy the view. The room I stayed in before was better. Although it is in a great location and the room was clean, it was a bit disappointing.

    We stayed as a couple to refresh ourselves with the communal bath and breakfast buffet. Recently, I thought that most hotels have made it possible to drink water to prevent dehydration in the bath, but I was surprised that there was no drinking water Facility here. I hope they can provide it if possible. I thought the basket for taking towels and other items to the bath was a good idea. According to my wife, skincare kits such as lotion can be obtained at the front desk, but she would like them to be available in the women's bath as well. The restaurant on the first floor was only available for private reservations for dinner, so we went out to eat, but I hope we can also dine within the Hotel. I would be happy if cheese could be included in the breakfast menu. The food was delicious, and the Room was comfortable, so I would like to stay again.

    Hotel with a delicious breakfast buffet

    I was told by an acquaintance about a hidden gem of a hotel, just one station away from Kyoto Station. Although there are no souvenir shops or restaurants nearby, it is quiet and reasonably priced. This person, who practices a traditional Japanese art, has visited Kyoto many times. Trusting their information, I decided to stay here for one night instead of my usual property for a multiple night stay during my sudden trip to Kyoto. I made a request in advance regarding the room view, and I was pleased to have a room with a nice view as I had hoped. Furthermore, I arrived an hour earlier than the expected arrival time, but the room was already prepared, allowing my elderly parent to rest in the room sooner, for which I am grateful. Positive points: ① The breakfast buffet was delicious, especially the mochi shabu in soy milk. Both Japanese and Western dishes were tasty. There was even soft serve ice cream. ② The room wear was very comfortable. I wore it instead of the pajamas I usually bring. ③ I didn't use the large public bath, so I can't evaluate it, but the room's bath was separate from the toilet. It was large for the room size, had a washing area, and was clean. ④ There was a convenience store right next to the hotel entrance, which was very convenient. ⑤ There were two train simulator games in the lobby, which were enjoyable. Points for improvement: I sent a package, but only Yu-Pack was available, and there was only one box size. I would like them to offer boxes in various sizes. (There is a convenience store next to the entrance, so that could be an alternative.) Overall, I would rate it around 90 points. The front desk staff's service spirit in trying to accommodate the guest's prior requests as much as possible, the delicious breakfast buffet included in the price, and the room with separate bath and toilet make it indeed a hidden gem and a good hotel.

    I was very satisfied.

    I made the Reservation just because there was a discount and it was close to the station, but it was really in front of the station, the Room was spacious and clean, and we were able to relax in the large public bath early when it was just the two of us. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet with its wide variety. The front desk staff were also very kind in various ways, and we were very satisfied.

    The room was very clean, the size was just right, and it was comfortable. The reception staff was also very kind. The hotel is close to the station, and there is a convenience store on the first floor, making the location and convenience perfect. However, I deducted one star for the view. According to the reviews, the grade I reserved was reputed to have a good view from the outside, so I was really looking forward to it. However, when I went on the day, it was right behind the neighboring coffee shop, and there was a wall. I was really disappointed because I was looking forward to the view. Since I was with children, I had decided after considering other hotels to show them the view, so it was disappointing that there was no note or anything during the reservation. Other than that, the whole family was satisfied enough to say, "We want to come again."

    Even though the meals are delicious and the Facility is beautiful,

    It was an unusually hot three-day weekend, and I couldn't tell if the entire air conditioning system was bad or if the adjustment panel in the Room was faulty. In any case, it was so hot that I woke up in the middle of the night sweating while sleeping on the bed next to the unit bath. That was the only disappointment.

    It was a good Hotel!

    I wanted to stay near Umekoji Park, so I chose this Hotel, and I feel like I finally stayed at a Hotel that satisfied me. It was clean, there was a proper paper memo, and the bathtub was spacious, which was nice. I also appreciated that the toilet and bathroom were separate. The amenities seemed to be chosen with environmental considerations in mind, and the pajamas were comfortable to wear. The placement of tissues and trash cans was good, and I was grateful for the bedside alarm clock. What impressed me the most was the pillow. Most Hotels have pillows that are too high, but for the first time, I was able to sleep with a pillow that matched the height of my head. It was also the first time I slept soundly until morning. I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity. Thank you very much.

    First Experience

    We went on a family trip with our child. We chose this place because the building and Facility seemed clean, and the location was convenient. However, it was disappointing that the Room was not thoroughly cleaned, especially since we had a baby with us. We were surprised to find acorns under the gap beneath the Room's refrigerator. Our child noticed and touched them, which was quite shocking. Could it have been from the previous guest? I'm glad they didn't put it in their mouth. Also, since our baby was too young to use the public bath, we decided to use the Room's bath. When we filled the bathtub, hair floated up, which was surprising. This is another cleaning issue, and while it might have been a coincidence, I hope future guests won't experience the same. We spent the rest of our stay without worrying about it, but the surprise was enough to make us reconsider using this Property again. Next time, we might look at other surrounding Properties.
