    Used the Elite Plan....

Used the Elite Plan. First, regarding service: at the front desk and at Restaurant Muni, I received pleasant service befitting a luxury property. On the other hand, I was treated very poorly at Riverside Cafe Muni. Although breakfast is advertised as an order buffet, I was told I could have only one main dish and only one egg dish, and my menu was taken away immediately after ordering. This entire process felt intentional on the restaurant’s part rather than a single staff member’s mistake. It even felt like false advertising. At Restaurant Muni, with its lavish furnishings, meticulously crafted dishes, and highly original atmosphere, it truly lived up to its name with a one-of-a-kind presence, making for an excellent experience. Overall it is a good Facility, but the disappointing treatment at Riverside Cafe Muni mentioned above canceled everything out.

    Everything was perfect.

The staff’s hospitality was excellent, and the Room was simple yet relaxing. The curtains were motorized, and the lighting could be set for different moods with a single button, so everything was stress-free and very comfortable. What stood out most was dinner at the basement restaurant. The beautiful tableware, complex flavors, harmony between each plate and the food, and conversations with the staff were all wonderful. Both my heart and stomach were completely satisfied. I’ll come again with my daughter.

    Shower Water Temperature

Because it’s always extremely crowded and I can’t really do typical sightseeing, I decided to stay overnight in Arashiyama so I could take a walk from evening to early morning. It’s a well-designed Hotel with a clean, uncluttered feel. A stylish jasmine scent lingers throughout. My Room overlooked Togetsukyo Bridge and even had a balcony, which made it feel special. The guest perk of admission to the Fukuda Art Museum can be difficult depending on the season and time, but it’s best to ask first. Breakfast was also wonderful—bright and refreshing while looking out at Togetsukyo Bridge. You can choose the main dish, but I got a bit confused: even though there was bread available, I ordered an open sandwich, and later found out you can order different options by changing the selection. Still, everything was delicious. (And yes—I ate too much.) One concern: the shower water wouldn’t get hot enough. The bathtub was fine, though. The sink as well—everything is so stylish that it’s a little hard to use (not very intuitive). Since it was summer, it worked out somehow, but in winter you’d probably have to wash using hot water from the bathtub. Maybe there was a button somewhere. Also, since the surrounding area is mostly souvenir shops, there aren’t convenience stores nearby—even if you suddenly want something quick to eat—so that’s something to keep in mind as well.

    I was curious.

What concerned me was: Noise from the air conditioning Dust on the air conditioner vent (I wiped it myself) Odor in the Room We stayed as a family and wanted a spacious Room, so we chose the maisonette, but various things bothered us and we couldn’t relax. Perhaps because the ceiling was low, it felt quite cramped. Breakfast was very delicious.

    Summer Trip

Although we traveled during extreme heat, the moment we stepped into the Hotel amid the bustle of Arashiyama, it felt like a different world, welcomed by a white garden. We arrived early, but they kindly showed us to our Room since it was already prepared, which made us very happy. The Room was stylish and comfortable. The view from the balcony and the sound of water were soothing, and we had a wonderful time. For dinner, we enjoyed tapas and pasta while watching Togetsukyo Bridge at dusk—beautifully presented and delicious. It’s a Hotel I’d love to visit again in another season. This trip also celebrated my daughter, and thank you for preparing flowers in our Room for her. It became a memorable trip.

    It was an amazing experience.

On a whim the night before, we happened to secure a Reservation, so we checked in without fully understanding what was included. Our Plan allowed us to stay for 24 hours from the time of arrival and enjoy afternoon cafe time at 3:00 p.m., dinner, breakfast, and lunch—and every meal was absolutely delicious. We ate too much and ended up gaining weight, but… The location was excellent and made it easy to get around for Arashiyama sightseeing, which was especially helpful even in the intense heat. All the staff were kind and attentive, so we had a very comfortable stay. Just one thing… Perhaps because it was set for winter, the toilet seat was too hot. The remote control seemed fixed in place, so we couldn’t adjust it. If the temperature could be lowered a bit, that would be great—this is about the only request we can think of after such an amazing one-night, two-day trip to Arashiyama. Thank you very much.

    It was wonderful.

We stayed here to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Although we have visited Arashiyama several times, turning a corner led us into a world we never imagined. Everything felt entirely new to us: the wonderful hospitality, the immaculate cleanliness, the design that showed meticulous attention to every detail, and the cuisine that brought out the best of each ingredient while creating layered flavors. There was a purple bellflower placed in our Room. When we looked up its meaning, it said “eternal love.” That subtle thoughtfulness deeply moved us. We are truly grateful. Rather than simply saying it was comfortable, we felt firsthand how refined service can move people’s hearts to this extent. It may be hard to put into words, but it felt like we were given an important hint for how to live our lives from here on. From both of us, please accept our deepest gratitude. Thank you very much.

It was a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

We stayed here to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. We had been looking forward to visiting Arashiyama together again after a long time, and thanks to our stay at MUNI KYOTO, we were able to spend an exceptionally fulfilling time. Although we arrived earlier than planned due to our own schedule, we were kindly shown to our Room before the official check-in time because it was already prepared. We also appreciated being guided to the Fukuda Art Museum across the street—thoughtful support from the very beginning that made our Arashiyama stay comfortable and seamless. After enjoying the views of Arashiyama and the inner courtyard through the large windows, we fully enjoyed the MUNI Inclusive Collection Plan. During our stay, we savored wonderful meals including MUNI French KAISEKI. In particular, the Omi beef croquette, alfonsino confit, aloe and goat milk dessert, and Omi beef rice bowl with shredded egg were outstanding. It completely changed my impression of goat milk. From check-in to check-out, it was impressive how every staff member we met seemed genuinely happy at work. That wonderful atmosphere carried over to us as well, allowing us to relax throughout our stay with a constant sense of happiness. We even received flowers for our anniversary (which we carefully took home), making these two days truly beyond expectations. We would love to visit again in a different season. Thank you very much.

    The view was amazing.

Since my previous stay at this Hotel, I had to cancel many times, and I was finally able to stay. The view was even better than I expected. However, although I was looking forward to dinner, it felt a bit self-indulgent. I had hoped for cuisine that is more considerate of guests’ feelings, seasonal, and truly Kyoto-like, so it was disappointing. Unusual dishes alone do not capture guests’ hearts. The staff’s smiles were wonderful. I would not return for the meals. Still, the Room with the great view and its plaster walls—just like in my own home—felt calming. The Hotel staff’s service was also good. Thank you very much for taking care of me. I may visit again someday. Thank you in advance.

    It was wonderful.

It became a wonderful family travel memory. The Room left a strong impression with its large windows and high ceilings, and the refined, simple design felt very comfortable. The windows and the glass in the bath were thoroughly cleaned down to every corner, giving a great sense of cleanliness. The bed was also spacious, and we were able to rest well. The courtyard was also beautiful, and we felt soothed by the space in harmony with the flow of water. The arrangement of stones and gravel reminiscent of a dry landscape garden was also stunning, creating an atmosphere you could gaze at for hours without noticing the time. The meals were delicious as well and made our stay even more special. When we visit Kyoto again, we would definitely like to stay here again.

Well located, with a view of Togetsukyo Bridge.

Every meal was delicious, and we were completely satisfied with the five meals a day. The sweets were especially excellent.

We were able to relax and unwind at our own pace.

Thank you for providing such an enjoyable and satisfying space and stay. Starting with afternoon tea, we enjoyed meals throughout our visit—dinner, breakfast, and lunch as well. Since the portion sizes can be adjusted, it was ideal for dining with people of different ages. Although it was a slightly chilly season, we were fortunate to have good weather and enjoyed strolling around Arashiyama, including Togetsukyo Bridge. Next time, we plan to visit again and combine the Sagano Scenic Railway with the Hozugawa River boat ride.

    A Wonderful Experience

Although located in Arashiyama, one of Kyoto’s premier sightseeing areas, the Hotel feels like a different world—peaceful and quiet. A wonderful location. The view from the balcony is also great. The Plan that lets you enjoy “Tea Time,” “Aperitif Time,” and “Dinner Time” all within the Hotel is outstanding. Staying at this Hotel becomes the purpose of the trip. Of course, “Morning” was excellent as well. The only drawback is the toilet—it would be more convenient if it were separate from the bath.

    Wonderful Hotel

The Hotel’s stately atmosphere and the wonderful Room were so impressive that we even canceled our sightseeing plans to relax in the Room. However, I was woken up in the morning by loud voices from foreign guests talking on the terrace of the neighboring Room, and the all-inclusive dinner tasted a bit salty to me. Still, the restaurant staff provided excellent service. I thought breakfast was delicious. I would like to visit again. Thank you very much.

Now is the perfect time, while inbound demand is slowing down.

During the peak inbound travel period, I believe the Accommodation Fee exceeded ¥100,000, but now you can stay at a much more reasonable price. Dinner at the Riverside Café was also excellent, with an order-buffet style service. The Room facilities are more than sufficient for a luxury Hotel. However, since I have stayed here many times, there were some disappointing points this time. First, the quality of the all-inclusive offering has dropped significantly. The welcome sweets used to be baked goods from the shop on the first floor, but they have been changed to individually wrapped snacks that feel like souvenir items, which was disappointing. As for drinks, they previously offered premium bottled orange juice, peach nectar, and apple juice, but those are gone. Now it’s tea, beer, and bottled lemonade. Most disappointing of all: this time I chose a second-floor Room expecting to see Togetsukyo Bridge, but I was given an end Room where the view was mainly the roof of the building across from us. In that case, a first-floor Room with a water view would have been far better. This Room should be priced as the cheapest option. It was extremely disappointing—honestly quite sad.

My expectations were high, so I was a bit disappointed.

We visited with high expectations because it was featured as an IKYU recommended Accommodation. However, there were many moments during our stay when we found ourselves thinking, “Huh?”—which was disappointing. Because our group was large, there was no view from the Room. The sunrise from the restaurant was beautiful, but the curtains were closed partway through. The “Healing Time” and “Evening Time” menus are the same, which felt a bit uninspired. The course menu also did not list any dessert. In other Reviews, some people mentioned that the portions were small; when we called in advance to ask about the menu, we were told that although it is not officially announced, guests may order as much as they like from items on the menu. We also heard that although it is not officially announced either, you may receive tickets to the museum in front of the Hotel. It all felt unclear and left us uneasy. When we asked about dessert on the day, we were told there would be ice cream—but it never arrived. When we asked again later, we were then told it had sold out after all. With so few guests that staff could easily remember faces, why wasn’t this communicated as soon as they knew? We ended up waiting for a long time after finishing our meal. We expected a lot from a Michelin-awarded restaurant: while the food tasted good, the service was disappointing. Even when our drinks were empty—and even when we raised our hand—we couldn’t get anyone’s attention. It’s a shame because the meal itself was excellent. I also wonder if staff have actually tried the seasonal juice (orange juice). It tasted extremely bitter—as if it had been squeezed with the peel—and I have never had orange juice like that before. The sweets in the guest room were tasty too, but for four people there were only two types with two pieces each (two of each). Wouldn’t it be better to provide four of one type or four pieces of both types? On a positive note, amenities were well stocked and the interior was beautiful.

    Birthday Stay

Above all, the staff’s service was outstanding. They handled our birthday surprise with great care, and even though we hadn’t mentioned it in advance, they noticed that my companion doesn’t like raw vegetables and offered to grill them, serving grilled vegetables instead. They also quickly brought extra of the sauce we liked. We were truly delighted. Breakfast was a lovely, relaxing time while looking out at Togetsukyo Bridge. The Room was also very restful—the sound of flowing water was soothing and helped us unwind. Thank you very much.

I was able to enjoy a peaceful, relaxing stay in the best location in Arashiyama. Taking an early-morning walk through the bamboo grove is a luxurious experience you can only have by staying here. The staff also provided attentive hospitality.

    Everything was perfect.

They guided us to the lobby, and we appreciated that they removed their shoes before entering our Room. The service was friendly with warm smiles, and the Room had high ceilings. The food was just right even for us at our age, with beautiful presentation. The view was wonderful. We will visit again.

I’d love to stay here again.

It was a very beautiful Hotel, like an art museum. We could see Togetsukyo Bridge from the Room, and the scenery was wonderful. The Facility was also state-of-the-art, which pleasantly surprised us and made our stay even more enjoyable. The scent throughout the building was lovely, breakfast was delicious, and we spent an elegant time. The staff’s attentiveness was outstanding. It is a Hotel we would definitely like to visit again.

It truly was a one-of-a-kind Hotel.

A perfect location with views of Arashiyama’s Togetsukyo Bridge—while the area is crowded with tourists, a calm and quiet atmosphere flows here. A Kyoto trip with my daughter, just the two of us, and it became an unforgettable journey. The Room was spacious and comfortable, and the amenities were MUNI originals with great attention to detail. Drinks in the refrigerator were complimentary. Stepping out onto the garden terrace was soothing, with beautiful scenery and the sound of water. We also chose the deluxe dining Plan with free-flow drinks. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and we thoroughly enjoyed sparkling wine, beer, wine, and more. We were very satisfied. The view from the restaurant was also outstanding. If I visit Arashiyama again, I would love to stay here again. Thank you very much.

    Well-located Hotel with Great Views

The location was excellent, the interior was beautiful, and the staff at the café restaurant were incredibly attentive. The bed provided an exceptional level of comfort. I made a reservation this time with Inclusive Collection - Elite. The café, dinner, and morning meals were all very satisfying. However, I found it slightly disappointing that some of the main dishes for lunch were identical to those served at dinner. While I understand that there are limitations to what can be prepared in a café restaurant, having been thoroughly satisfied from the previous day through breakfast, I felt a bit of a gap in expectations. In hindsight, ending with just breakfast might have left me feeling more content overall. The staff members—many of whom seemed quite young—handled everything seamlessly and professionally. If given another opportunity, I would love to visit again!

    I had a relaxing time.

It was wonderful! The staff at the front desk and restaurant were very kind and attentive. The Room had a stylish interior, yet everything we needed was thoughtfully provided. The terrace was my absolute favorite spot, and I spent most of my time there during the stay. The sound of water, the breeze, and the nighttime lighting were incredibly soothing. On the second day, we were lucky to see snow covering the ground, offering a completely different view to enjoy. I rated the Facility 4 stars because I noticed water stains on the bedside table from glasses, which caught my attention. However, I felt that this might be intentional to preserve the natural texture of wood without excessive coating. We had both dinner and breakfast during our stay; it seemed like high-quality ingredients were used in each dish. While there was a description for dishes like tomato sauce pasta or cream sauce pasta on the menu, I think more detailed explanations would have been helpful. This is just a personal request, but since I loved spending time on the terrace so much, it would be even better if blankets could be provided during this season. I truly enjoyed my stay and will definitely visit again! Thank you so much!

    Excellent location

It was my first stay at this accommodation. From the room, I could enjoy a beautiful view of the garden through large windows. The restaurant on the second floor offers a view of Katsura River and Togetsukyo Bridge. During breakfast, it happened to snow, allowing us to enjoy our meal with a stunning snowy landscape! The free drinks during meals were also a nice touch. It would be even better if there were more varieties of alcoholic beverages available. All the staff greeted us with smiles and left a great impression. This is an excellent accommodation for a relaxing stay. I would love to visit again!

It was a graceful New Year.

The maisonette-type Room had separate first and second floors, allowing for a restful sleep without sensing the presence of other guests. Both floors were spacious and comfortable. The meals were delicious, perfectly paired with drinks. I enjoyed champagne, red wine, and gin—all of which were excellent. The sunrise and sunset views from the restaurant were breathtaking. We also received tickets to the Fukuda Art Museum, where we appreciated beautiful portraits and "Bread & Espresso." Thank you very much!

The scenery and air were beautiful!

The Room was very comfortable, and sitting on the balcony chair to breathe in the fresh air was refreshing. Guests can freely enjoy beverages in the Room, and the provided loungewear serves as pajamas. Breakfast was delicious, and the view from the dining area was spectacular. Dinner included a variety of drinks to enjoy, and the scent of bath salts was delightful. The Hotel staff were incredibly kind, making for an overall satisfying experience. However, one point of concern was that both I and my companion found the short pasta served at dinner somewhat underwhelming. While we could choose between meat or fish along with pasta, it would have been preferable to select both meat and fish instead. Overall, it was a wonderful 1-night stay. Thank you very much!
