    It was a wonderful stay.

All staff were very friendly, and the Hotel was beautifully decorated with lots of art, making for a wonderful stay. The shampoo and other amenities had a great fragrance. At breakfast and the reception, it felt like about 80–90% of the guests were international tourists, and you could often hear English. It made me feel like I was abroad. There was also a “Morning Starter” service where you can enjoy a drink at the first-floor restaurant, which was stylish and appreciated.

    A Comfortable Stay

I returned after a one-month break. Perhaps helped by the fact that most guests are international, I felt this is a truly cosmopolitan Hotel, with its atmosphere, variety of restaurants, in-house art, and the attentive service from the staff. This time my Room had a different layout and different types of chairs, and I was impressed by how much that alone can change the overall feel. I enjoyed social time, dinner, breakfast the next morning, and lunch—using all of the restaurants except the bar—and each had its own unique character. Overall, it’s a very enjoyable Hotel to stay at. Thank you very much again for such a wonderful time. I would love to visit again.

    A great time

The Hotel is located a short walk from Tochomae Station, making it very convenient for getting to Shinjuku and the surrounding area. With many international guests and the overall atmosphere, it almost feels like being abroad. The Room I stayed in was compact yet well equipped and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the spacious bathtub, which made for a relaxing soak. I was also happy with the complimentary minibar snacks—there was a great selection ranging from sweet to savory—so my overall satisfaction with the stay was extremely high. All of the staff were warm and very kind while still having their own individual personalities, and I felt that the person who assisted me during an issue showed excellent consideration and chose their words thoughtfully. I used the on-site restaurant District for Kimpton Afternoon Tea at lunch, Premium Afternoon Tea in the evening, and breakfast in the morning. Each time had a different atmosphere, and both the taste and presentation of the food were enjoyable—I thought it was wonderful. I also got takeaway lunch from Jones Cafe; their sandwiches were large, very filling, and delicious. Overall, it left a great impression—this is a lovely Hotel that I would definitely like to visit again.

    It depends on the user.

The evaluation may vary depending on the guest, considering both the hardware and software aspects. Unfortunately, it did not align with my values. Bringing dogs into the restaurant is something I find difficult to accept. While I like dogs, I believe those who cannot control their dogs should not enter with them. Shouldn't the Hotel make it clearer that this is a dog-friendly establishment? There are many friendly services offered here, which may also be subject to differing evaluations based on individual preferences and values.

It was a Hotel I would love to stay at again!

We stayed for one night with our beloved dog at the end of the New Year holidays. After checking reviews, our impression post-stay is, "We want to stay here again." The reason we chose this accommodation was to celebrate our anniversary and spend quality time with our pet. It turned out to be a perfect choice. The only area where pets are not allowed is the fitness center. All dining areas have pet-friendly sections indoors, making it comfortable even during cold seasons, and they provide pet mats so you can enjoy your meal without worry. The staff were all animal lovers and quickly remembered our dog's name, giving him lots of affection. Our dog is usually shy around people but was in high spirits from the moment we entered the hotel. Every time we took him outside for a walk or bathroom break after check-in, he would resist leaving and eagerly try to return to the hotel—this surprised us! The food was delicious, and services provided for guests were very satisfying as well. This time's plan included a complimentary minibar, which added to our satisfaction level. I rated the bath 4 because it had a traditional Japanese-style tub that wasn’t ideal for reclining comfortably. While this isn’t an accommodation we can visit casually due to its cost, my spouse and I are already discussing when we can stay here next time—we’re looking forward to it!

A very comfortable hotel that lets you forget the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku.

The unit bath has a window, but the mirror at the sink between it and the bedroom provides light privacy, offering an open yet private atmosphere. Breakfast on the 2nd floor was satisfying, featuring healthy meals made with fresh ingredients.

A Must-Stay for Pet Owners! Ultimate Relaxation Stay for IKYU Diamond Members

This is the only accommodation in the country that accepts all animals (limited to those that can fit in the elevator). We stayed here with our pet rabbit during a three-day weekend. As an IKYU Diamond Member, we enjoyed a maximum check-in time of 1:00 PM and check-out at 2:00 PM, allowing for an incredibly relaxing stay! It was also surprising that all restaurants and bars within the hotel are pet-friendly. We could spend time together everywhere, and our little one felt completely at ease. The staff, as well as other guests (mostly international visitors), were so kind and adored our pet, making it a truly happy experience for us. The view bath in the suite room was spacious and delightful—I ended up using it five times! There was a slight mix-up with arranging birthday flowers, but their prompt and professional response made it stress-free. We will definitely visit again with our little one. Thank you very much!

    This is my second stay.

This was my second stay, and I enjoyed a more spacious room than last time. There was a campaign offering a cashback for taxi fares from Shinjuku Station to the Hotel when staying in suites or higher rooms. I handed over the receipt at check-in and received the cashback, which was very helpful on such a hot day, especially since I had my dog with me. However, despite booking a suite or higher room and requesting early check-in, I was told that the room would only be available at 3 PM, which was disappointing. The room itself was comfortable. Given the location, it felt like an effort had been made to create a "suite" atmosphere, but it seemed understandable under the circumstances. Regarding amenities, while there was a comb provided, it would have been nice to have had a brush as well. I also found myself wondering about where to place my dog's toilet area; having some kind of simple divider for this purpose would be helpful. Additionally, while the bed frame and mattress base were beautifully designed and sophisticated, my Chihuahua tends to shake her head with toys in her mouth—this made me worry she might hit them against the bed frame. That said, there were many delightful touches such as welcome cards and personalized treats and toys for my dog! I especially appreciated finding another new toy during turndown service—it left quite an impression! The staff members were kind and attentive throughout our stay; their hospitality made our visit truly pleasant. Thank you very much!

A luxurious Hotel with a new type of lighting

The Shinjuku area lacks luxury accommodations, so I used to stay in other areas. However, this time I had no time to travel and decided to take the plunge—and it pleasantly exceeded my expectations! At first glance, the staff may seem casual like those at an Apple Store, but their professionalism is impressive. The balance of interaction is perfect—no excessive attention, making it genuinely comfortable. If you stay in a suite, all in-room drinks and snacks are complimentary. The selection is so well-curated that it stands out even among Tokyo's top-tier accommodations. The morning coffee service at the café on the first floor comes with a banana—it was such a delightful touch that I thought, "Who needs Starbucks?"

I had a wonderful holiday with my beloved dog.

I had always wanted to visit the summer beer terrace, so I made a reservation in advance and stayed for the first time with my beloved dog. The room amenities and gifts for the dogs were very well-prepared, allowing our whole family to enjoy the stay. The hotel is truly dog-friendly, making it an excellent choice for those traveling with their pets. However, one downside was that while the facility is non-smoking indoors, it seems electronic cigarettes are allowed on the terrace of the main dining area. During our meal on the terrace, someone nearby was smoking an e-cigarette, and we were slightly bothered by the smoke.

A happy moment with my beloved dog.

It was our first time staying at an accommodation with our dog, and we arrived feeling a bit nervous. However, the staff showed great care for our beloved pet, and even other guests greeted our dog with smiles, making it a truly comforting hotel experience. The social hour was wonderful. We enjoyed delicious wine while relaxing on comfortable sofas and spending luxurious family time with our dog. We were also deeply touched by the thoughtful gestures, such as the birthday card prepared for our dog in the room. When it gets cooler, we look forward to visiting the café on the first floor with our dog, which we didn’t have a chance to try this time.

    The staff was excellent.

The staff were friendly and approachable, creating a casual and pleasant atmosphere. The bartender was excellent, and the view was stunning. The breakfast restaurant also had great staff. The butter at breakfast was incredibly delicious, featuring a unique soy sauce koji butter that felt one-of-a-kind. The avocado toast was tasty, while the sea urchin and salmon roe eggs benedict were interesting but could use a bit more flavor punch. The guest room was slightly small, and the lack of a bathtub felt a bit disappointing. The price is on the higher side. Since this is not a luxury Hotel, it might be better to keep expectations moderate.

    Pet-friendly and impressive!

This was my first time staying here as pet-friendly accommodations are becoming less common. Everyone was very kind to my beloved dog, which made me so happy. There was a cute magnet on the door of the room saying "Pet inside," and I couldn't resist taking a photo of it! Although it rained on the day of our stay, the greenery near Nishi-Shinjuku is abundant, and pets will surely enjoy it too. I would love to stay here again.

    Disappointments at My Favorite Hotel

At my favorite hotel within our family’s collection, I encountered the following experience. I planned to enjoy the early check-in benefit of IKYU Diamond by first having afternoon tea at DISTRICT before heading to the front desk. However, I was informed that there were no available rooms for check-in. Understanding it was Golden Week, my family and I accepted this situation, but we were only able to check in at 3:30 PM—was this a late check-in? After checking in, we enjoyed cocktail time and a delicious dinner. Since our suite had a view bath, each of us looked forward to relaxing in the tub. However, when filling it with water, it wouldn’t hold due to an issue with the stopper. Despite repeatedly checking it ourselves and calling the front desk for assistance (where they suggested user error), nothing improved. Eventually, one repair person came... then two... finally three people entered our private space endlessly trying to fix it without success. By 11:30 PM past midnight with no resolution in sight, we were asked to move rooms instead—packing up hastily and relocating all our belongings before finally being able to bathe. The next morning at 10:30 AM sharp (without being offered IKYU Diamond’s late checkout benefit), we left the hotel feeling disappointed. If another room was available later on during repairs anyway—why wasn’t early check-in possible from the start? At least offering late checkout as compensation for wasted time would have been appreciated instead of strictly adhering only when convenient under corporate policies typical among American companies perhaps? Despite these frustrations though—I’ve already booked again for August!

Recommended for staying with dogs in the city center.

I have used this property several times in the past, and the friendly service for dogs and convenient location are very good. The room is also new, and the view is beautiful. Additionally, being close to Shinjuku Chuo Park makes it perfect for walking dogs. However, one concern is that the attentiveness of the restaurant staff during breakfast is lacking, and their response is not great. They do not pay attention to the tables, and even when called, they do not notice, so I had to walk to the reception to ask for a coffee refill. I have used this hotel three times, and each time I feel disappointed. I have never had such difficulty asking for a coffee refill at any hotel. I would like more attentiveness from the staff. Additionally, there is sometimes a lack of explanation regarding breakfast and other matters depending on the staff. I would like improvements to ensure that the service level does not vary depending on the staff.

    Located in Shinjuku,...

Located in Shinjuku, the room and closet are compact, but it was perfectly comfortable for a solo stay. It might feel a bit cramped for two people. Despite being along Koshu Kaido Road, the noise from passing cars was not as noticeable as expected, allowing for a restful stay. The friendly demeanor of the hotel staff created an inviting atmosphere that made the luxurious accommodation feel approachable and enjoyable. Thank you!

    A great Hotel for pets

While many hotels do not allow cats, this is a rare property in Tokyo where cats are welcome. A personalized welcome board awaits you, and in the room, you'll find a food bowl, scratching post, litter box, pet toys, and treats, allowing your pet to roam freely on the bed or sofa without being confined to a cage. It's great that you can take your pet with you on a leash, harness, or pet cart even in the hotel's restaurant. The room was spacious and easy to use with a corridor-style layout, but the front desk staff's service during check-in was disappointing (afterward, when I inquired via email, I received a courteous response).

This is the first time I've felt such a sense of relief.

Staying at the hotel, I felt a sense of relief like never before. When I arrived late, I was touched by the thoughtful gesture of extending the checkout by 30 minutes, even if just for a little time the next morning. Since the hotel was fully booked that day, they kindly informed me of the relatively less crowded breakfast time, and every word conveyed warmth. The check-in, with a touch of humor, eased my tired mind. The room was very relaxing and comfortable. The towels were fluffy. I wish there had been a table, and it was unfortunate that there was a mechanical noise when the shower was turned on. The bathtub is deep, allowing for a leisurely soak. As everyone has written, the breakfast was perfect in terms of space, service, and taste! I would come here just for the breakfast. They skillfully incorporate unique elements without being overly eccentric, achieving an amazing balance. Everything was well thought out, yet the service was unobtrusive, making for a truly pleasant stay. I definitely want to stay at Kimpton again.

    Repeat booking confirmed!!

I visited Kimpton for the first time with my dog. The staff were friendly and kind, making it feel as comfortable as visiting a relative's home. They prepared a welcome board and personalized cookies for the dog, allowing both us and our dog to have a wonderful time. Seeing our dog's happy face was our happiness as well. The meals were varied and delicious, allowing us to relax both physically and mentally. It was a Hotel I would love to return to soon. Thank you very much to all the staff.
