    It was a great deal.

The Room was clean, and the bathroom was separate from the toilet. Breakfast was carefully prepared and delicious.

    I’m truly disappointed.

This time, there were quite a few disappointing points for me, so I don’t think I’ll be coming back. I’ve stayed at this Hotel many times, but while being shown around I was asked, “Is this your first time?” It made me laugh—I actually remembered the staff member. My wife and I exchanged a wry smile. For breakfast, we arrived 10 minutes early by mistake and were told, “It’s not open yet, so please wait in your Room.” No flexibility. And the breakfast was far too simple. Honestly, it made me wish there were a no-breakfast Plan. It’s a shame, because I’ve really liked Hiramatsu Hotels (including Kashikojima Hiramatsu). If you’re making a Reservation, you may want to be especially careful about breakfast.

Perfect for your stay during the Gion Festival

I think this Accommodation is perfect for a stay during the Gion Festival. I also enjoyed both the Italian and Japanese cuisine. Watching a maiko dance during my stay became a wonderful memory—thank you very much. It seems that, in exchange for opening the lounge, the drinks in the refrigerator have been limited to mineral water only. However, because the lounge has short opening hours, it was not very convenient. I usually stay at Hiramatsu-level Accommodations, but this was the first time I had to buy sparkling mineral water at a convenience store during my stay. That said, it is still a great Accommodation, and I would be happy to stay again.

I used it for the first time in a casual setting.

When I stayed three years ago, the lobby was spacious and check-in felt relaxed, and the drinks in the Room refrigerator were well stocked and free. This time, following COVID and the increase in Kyoto’s Accommodation Tax, breakfast has been simplified, and the free drinks have moved to the lounge with set hours. However, it feels more casual now, which I also liked. Since we had a Multiple Night Stay with two Rooms, we requested the hearty Italian course breakfast once. For Italian in Kyoto, we chose breakfast here. The simple breakfast buffet was great on days when our schedule was packed. A large buffet with too many options can feel like a hassle in the morning sometimes. What I like about mornings here is that you can take your time and relax.

    I was very satisfied.

Service Although it rained that day, the staff waited for us outside the Accommodation, guided us to a nearby paid parking lot, and even held an umbrella for us when we got out of the car. Throughout our stay, everyone kept a comfortable distance while providing very pleasant service. Onsen/Bath It is not an Onsen, but the bath was spacious enough and had a jacuzzi, which helped relieve our travel fatigue. Facility/Equipment The design beautifully blends old and new. The Room was somewhat dimly lit, but that actually made it more relaxing. Meals We had Japanese cuisine for both dinner and breakfast. Every dish was beautifully presented and delicious, and the pacing of service was just right—we were very satisfied. Amenities There were plenty provided in both variety and quantity, but it would have been even better if there had been Bvlgari shampoo or cosmetics like in Hakone. Also, we wished the complimentary drinks in the refrigerator had included enough of each type for everyone. Overall Satisfaction We were able to relax in a quiet, clean Room and were truly impressed by the delicious food. After dinner and early in the morning, we also enjoyed strolling around the Accommodation without setting a destination and experienced an early taste of Kyoto summer—thank you very much. We would love to visit again in another season.

The Room was lovely and very convenient to use. Although we only had breakfast this time, both the Japanese set and the light Western options were delicious. Thank you for making our three-day stay so comfortable.

    As expected from Hiramatsu.

The shower water pressure was weak, which was the only disappointment... Other than that, the Room, service, and food were all excellent!

    From the entrance to...

From the entrance to the guest room, everything was very quiet and calming, and we were able to relax comfortably. However, when I filled the bathtub and then stopped the hot water, there was an unusual noise. I checked with the front desk and was told it happens sometimes and to unplug the drain once; after doing so, it stopped, which was a relief, but it did make me uneasy. Breakfast was a light meal as part of the Casual Stay plan. There weren’t many items, but we were very satisfied with fresh salad, fruit, bread, and more. The staff service was also polished—truly what you’d expect from Hiramatsu. My wife was also very happy. Thank you very much.

    We hope for improved hospitality.

Perhaps because check-in was as late as 5:00 PM, there were no welcome drinks or similar. In the Room, there were only tea bags and no sweets. The meal (Italian) was delicious, but we were kept waiting quite a long time for the second dessert. It seemed it was mistakenly served to a table that arrived later. They appeared to have had one dessert skipped, and the same first dessert was brought to us instead. The staff didn’t seem to notice, and there was no apology for the delay, so the excitement from enjoying such good food faded. I think it would be better to review your system and service a bit more. It’s disappointing precisely because the food was excellent. The Japanese breakfast was very delicious. The in-Room amenities were somewhat lacking. I had expected hospitality, so I’m disappointed. Sorry for being blunt.

    The Hiramatsu Suite

The suite had a solid, stately feel, but I would have liked a bit more lighting. I couldn’t help but smile wryly at the laminated matcha packet in the tea caddy, though I suppose that’s just how it is these days. I’m not a fan of foreign-owned Hotels where the bathtub and shower booth are separate, so I appreciated having a bathroom with a washing area. I also enjoyed the Japanese cuisine at “Kappo Izumi.”

    Always wonderful.

Everything about this Accommodation is truly high quality. The location is excellent, and while it does not have an Onsen, the Room is spacious and the service is outstanding—especially the Japanese cuisine. Even each individual piece of tableware feels as if it tells a story. A wonderful Accommodation. Thank you always.

    Traditional townhouse

The meals were consistently delicious. From the entrance, I thought it might not be very spacious, but the beams are used beautifully, creating a charming and wonderful space. I’d like to stay here again when I visit Kyoto.

Thank you for handling everything smoothly, even though there were a few issues. We also had a wonderful time at the French restaurant in Kodaiji, and breakfast was delicious. The yudofu (tofu hot pot), available for an additional fee, is highly recommended. Thank you as well for recommending restaurants—one of them was excellent. We had a truly lovely stay. We’d love to come again!

It was a comfortable accommodation, and I slept very well. The restaurant's set plan was excellent. Since I'm not familiar with traveling in Kyoto, visiting only the French restaurant at Kyoto Hiramatsu felt a bit intimidating. However, the accommodation arranged a taxi for me, which made it reassuring. I also appreciated the protective charm of Genzan Daishi displayed at the entrance.

A Hotel That Lets You Escape Reality

I stayed for one night in November with breakfast included. The accommodation, service, and meals were all perfect, providing a stay that made me forget reality. I didn’t want to leave at all. The staff were always smiling and engaged in pleasant conversations with me, answering even my trivial questions politely. I felt valued despite being just an ordinary guest, which lifted my spirits and made me forget my usual irritations. For breakfast, I had the option of Japanese or Western style and eventually chose Western after much deliberation. Everything was so delicious that I could feel it nourishing my body—even the water I first sipped was so good it instantly woke up my sleepy mind. I was particularly amazed by the honey on the table—it was incredibly tasty! If you choose Western breakfast, don’t miss trying the honey as well. For room service, I enjoyed tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet) and Kyoto pickled vegetables as accompaniments to drinks; they were delightful too! It made me confident that their Japanese cuisine would also be exceptional. My palate has undoubtedly leveled up from this experience! Next time I stay here, I'd love to try dinner and Japanese-style breakfast as well. The hotel is located in an area perfect for strolling around without getting bored—I could truly feel Kyoto with all my senses. Even now, days after leaving the hotel, I find myself reminiscing about how wonderful everything was—how delicious it all tasted—and wondering if perhaps part of me hasn’t fully returned to reality yet or simply doesn’t want to. It’s a quiet and comfortable hotel where I'd love to return if possible—to relive those moments again someday soon!

    Relax with your mother.

After a long time in Kyoto, the city was bustling with foreign visitors everywhere, which was a bit tiring. However, this Hotel provided a very calm and relaxing atmosphere where both my mother and I felt completely rejuvenated. We enjoyed an Italian dinner with wine pairing, and every dish was excellent—we were extremely satisfied. Breakfast was Western-style, and it too exceeded expectations in taste, portion size, and overall quality. I would definitely love to stay here again on my next visit to Kyoto.

The meals are excellent. Everything else is average.

This hotel is designed solely for enjoying meals. Unlike other Hiramatsu Hotel Group accommodations, it does not offer great views, likely due to the location. The room itself is spacious, but everything else is average. The service is polite but standard, and even after multiple stays at this and other hotels in the group, the treatment feels like a first-time visit without much distinction from other hotels.

I stayed with my daughter and had a wonderful experience. It was a charming and beautiful Facility. The breakfast, featuring ingredients from nearby shops, was delicious. It might have been even better if there was an original walking map provided by the Hotel. The only disappointment was that we couldn't enjoy the view outside the window.

    The Perfect Getaway

Thank you for your hospitality. I stayed with my mother in Kyoto (with dinner and breakfast included). The Room was so comfortable that we regretted having such a short stay. The staff's thoughtfulness and warm smiles were wonderful, and my mother seemed to have a pleasant time, even thanking me for choosing such a good Hotel. Both the Japanese-style dinner and Western-style breakfast exceeded our expectations in taste and quality, allowing us to enjoy our meals in a relaxed atmosphere. We were very satisfied.

    This was our first f...

This was our first father-daughter trip, and we had a wonderful and comfortable stay. The fact that the accommodation was supervised by Nakamura Sotoji Komuten was a key point in choosing it, which was decisive for my father. Additionally, having complimentary drinks in the room was a nice touch. We also appreciated borrowing the matcha set, which allowed us to relax peacefully. This time we stayed with breakfast included, but if we have another opportunity, we'd like to try including dinner as well. Thank you for an elegant experience!

    I felt relaxed.

This accommodation offers a truly relaxing experience, living up to its reputation. The room, though featuring traditional Japanese shoji screens that couldn't be opened, was spacious and comfortable. The bath was particularly impressive—spacious enough for a leisurely soak. I even enjoyed using the rain shower while seated on a hinoki wooden stool, something I don't usually do. The jacuzzi was another highlight. Towels were provided in abundance, the pajamas were comfortable, and there were also robes available—all of which added to the pleasant stay. However, I found it slightly disappointing that women's amenities needed to be requested separately despite the otherwise well-equipped facilities; it would have been more convenient if they had been provided from the start. As this is a compact city-center hotel, there is only one public bath and dining area available. Nevertheless, everything was impeccably clean and well-maintained. The room's relaxing atmosphere made it easy to unwind without feeling fatigued—a significant advantage. The staff members were all exceptionally kind and courteous. From providing detailed parking instructions upon arrival to guiding us through our room and offering helpful local tips during meals or sightseeing inquiries—everyone left a positive impression with their warm demeanor. We opted for both breakfast and dinner included in our stay package. Dinner at a restaurant near Kodaiji Temple offered stunning views of Kyoto's sunset and pagodas—a truly memorable experience! Breakfast at the hotel itself turned out to be an excellent choice as we decided on Western-style instead of Japanese cuisine. Choosing eggs benedict as my main dish proved delightful—I wasn't particularly fond of eggs benedict before but fell in love with how deliciously prepared it was here! If you visit this accommodation yourself someday soon—you must try them too! Starting your day off with such an exquisite meal feels wonderful—and next time around—I’ll definitely stick again w/Western breakfasts! The late check-out service until 12 PM allowed us extra relaxation time—which we greatly appreciated after exploring nearby areas like Gion & Gojo bars post-dinner strolls conveniently accessible due-to-this central location making urban exploration seamless enjoyable altogether!

    First Stay

I stayed at Hiramatsu Kyoto for the first time during the Gion Festival. Although I got soaked in the heavy rain, I was able to relax and rejuvenate both body and mind at this tranquil hotel. The meals were extremely satisfying, and I appreciated the courteous and detailed explanations during the prior confirmation call. I would love to stay here again!

We stayed here for our anniversary.

This was our second visit to HIRAMATSU, following our stay in Sengokuhara. About a week before our stay, the Hotel contacted us to confirm the Reservation details, including meal times and ingredients. On the day of arrival, just like in Sengokuhara, we were warmly welcomed at the entrance as if they had been expecting us! They even carried our luggage to the Room. While some Reviews mentioned no greeting or luggage assistance, it might depend on how busy it is (we visited on a weekday). During check-in, we learned about the textiles used in Kyoto's Gion Festival displayed at the Bar—it was very informative. The Room was spacious and included a jet bath, which we thoroughly enjoyed. For meals, dinner featured Italian cuisine while breakfast offered Japanese dishes with creative presentations and carefully selected ingredients like Kyoto vegetables—truly reflecting HIRAMATSU's style (personally though, I felt that Sengokuhara offered slightly more luxurious ingredients depending on the season). The staff seemed relatively young but were all very professional and made for an enjoyable stay!

    We stayed here for a...

We stayed here for a friend's birthday trip. The accommodation provided a quiet and serene environment where we could relax without encountering many other guests. The surprise birthday cake we requested was beautifully presented, generously topped with fruits, and absolutely delicious, leaving both my friend and me very satisfied. At the time of reservation, I informed the staff that it was for a friend's birthday and mentioned that spicy food should be avoided. This was also confirmed verbally during check-in. However, during dinner at Izumi, it seemed this information had not been shared in advance as some dishes needed to be adjusted on the spot to accommodate our request. While I appreciate the staff's flexibility in handling this situation promptly, it was slightly disappointing that prior communication had not been fully conveyed. That said, dinner turned out to be an exclusive experience as we happened to have the space all to ourselves. We enjoyed a leisurely meal capped off with delicious matcha tea prepared at the end of our meal. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our stay. Both dinner and breakfast showcased Hiramatsu's renowned quality—every dish was delightful—and it made us want to visit again in the future. Thank you for your hospitality!

A comfortable sense of personal space

My first visit in a year. The staff are very responsive when needed and maintain an appropriate distance, never intruding on guests’ privacy. The breakfast rice is delicious, but during a Multiple Night Stay, the side dishes are almost the same each day, which may be worth reconsidering... The atmosphere and service are flawless.

    The service is average.

The room, dinner, and breakfast were excellent and lived up to the Hiramatsu name, but the service was lacking. It would have been helpful to be informed about complimentary services in advance. I never expected to carry my own luggage to the room at a hotel of this price range. At other hotels, staff assisting with guidance usually carry it for you... Here, they were empty-handed. Additionally, after completing payment at checkout, the staff immediately went on to assist other guests without any farewell greeting as I left through an unattended entrance. This hotel does not provide amenities for women. Guests should bring their own cosmetics!

Enjoyed the atmosphere of a traditional Kyoto townhouse and excellent service.

A modern room designed to preserve the charm of a traditional Kyoto townhouse. The staff provided a thorough explanation in the room, which helped clarify any confusing points like the lighting buttons. While the amenities felt slightly limited for women, it’s understandable given current circumstances. We chose Italian and Western cuisine for our meals, which were incredibly creative and visually captivating. The staff's courteous and friendly service made our stay very pleasant. Next time we stay, we look forward to enjoying Japanese cuisine.

    The Prestigious Hiramatsu

I had the opportunity to stay at Hiramatsu, a place I had always wanted to visit. The matcha terrine served as a welcome sweet was exquisite, and I wished I could take it home as a souvenir. Although the lobby was bustling with guests, once in the room, it felt peaceful and private, allowing for a relaxing stay. For breakfast, I enjoyed a Japanese-style meal; the rice was sweet and delicious. It costs approximately 1,800 yen by taxi from Kyoto Station.

    I was very satisfied.

This was my first stay, and I was completely satisfied with the meals, service, and facilities. This time, I enjoyed Western-style cuisine for both breakfast and dinner. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, and the Japanese-Italian fusion dinner was particularly impressive with its creative touches and flavorful yet light seasoning. Next time, I look forward to trying traditional Japanese cuisine at another charming Japanese restaurant with a different ambiance.
