Concerns about the basic level of hospitality and cleanliness expected of a Hotel.

This was one of the most disappointing stays I have ever had. It was the first time I have seriously questioned the quality of service at a Hotel. Before my arrival, I suddenly received a call asking to confirm my check-in time. When I told them I was at the airport, they unilaterally said, “Then you’ll arrive around 10:00 PM.” According to my Reservation documents, check-in should have been available until 12:00 AM, but I assumed there was some urgency and headed to the Hotel without even stopping for a meal. After arriving, I asked at the front desk why they had called. They explained, “Front desk staff take a break from 10:00 PM, so we contact guests because we want them to come as early as possible.” That is exactly what they said word for word. I could hardly believe my ears and wished I had recorded it. I was also shocked that guests were being rushed purely for the Hotel’s convenience. When I asked the manager about what happened, their response was: “I’m the one who called. Sorry if you felt uncomfortable. Is there anything else?” The attitude was so curt it felt like they were snapping back at me. There was no sense of trying to understand what happened or use it as an opportunity to improve. In addition, both the guest room and common areas were covered in dust as shown in the photos. It did not feel properly cleaned and gave an unhygienic impression. Overall, this did not seem like an issue with individual staff members alone—it felt like a problem with how the Hotel is operated. Even before judging its Facilities, it lacked basic cleanliness and even minimal hospitality expected of a Hotel.

    The salted bread was delicious.

I booked a plan with breakfast, and the sara udon was delicious as well. The Hotel’s impressive cylindrical lobby—built during Japan’s bubble era—is always breathtaking. The Room may have been the smallest one, but I think it was still about 20 m². The bathroom and toilet are combined, but spacious. As a Diamond member, I wasn’t sure whether I had been upgraded.

    An affordable and lovely Hotel.

I went to Hakata to meet a senior colleague, and since I had the chance, I stayed for two nights. It’s close to Hakata Station and a very clean Hotel, so I highly recommend it. The lobby was especially lovely. The Room was comfortable, but it was a bit disappointing that the bathroom was a unit bath. Breakfast had a great selection of both Japanese and Western dishes, so even after two nights I didn’t get tired of it. If I had to be picky, I would have loved an order-to-cook style for omelets or scrambled eggs. After checkout, while sightseeing I realized I had left something behind. When I returned to pick up the luggage I had left at the Hotel and told the front desk, they responded immediately and brought me the lost item. Thank you very much.

    Neither good nor bad.

There were no major complaints about the Room or breakfast. A 12:00 check-out was appreciated. A minor issue was that there was no notepad.

It was a clean and comfortable Hotel.

The Room was spacious and clean, and I was able to relax comfortably. It felt like everything unnecessary had been thoroughly eliminated, so if you are not looking for extensive service, I think this Hotel offers great value for the price.

    A bit disappointing...

I’d been interested in this Hotel for a while. I stayed in the Deluxe Twin Family Chapter 4. The Room was spacious and comfortable, but first of all, there were no bath towels. There were three types of towels, but none were bath towels. I wondered if the largest one was supposed to be a bath towel… but it felt far too small. Also, the loungewear is unisex and only available in one size. At 165 cm, it fit me perfectly, so men wouldn’t be able to wear it. When I called the front desk to request a larger size, I was told they only have one size. There were no towels that could truly be called bath-towel size, and there was no larger loungewear available either. For men especially, there’s nothing to throw on after taking a shower. As for makeup remover and skincare (toner and emulsion), I knew from other guests’ Review that they existed, which helped—but you won’t receive them unless you ask at the front desk. Another issue was the TV placement: it was positioned so awkwardly that it was hard to watch from either the bed or the sofa—almost as if they didn’t intend for guests to watch it at all. Overall, it was very disappointing. The Room atmosphere was nice, so I hope these points will be improved.

    The Hotel and the Ro...

The Hotel and the Room were very stylish and clean. However, perhaps due to the Room’s location, I was bothered by the sound of trains (maybe the Shinkansen) echoing throughout the day. I was also a bit concerned that no one asked children running around in the breakfast area to stop... Still, it has a great atmosphere, and I think it’s a good-value Hotel.

    It was a relaxing Hotel.

I stayed here on my first trip to Hakata in over 10 years. From the front desk onward, it was a surprisingly wonderful Hotel—just like the photos on the website, with pleasant music playing throughout. The Room was very relaxing. It wasn’t especially large, but two friends of the same gender were able to spend time comfortably. And what really deserves a mention is WHY NOT (the Hotel’s restaurant)! Their “Senonbero Set” from 3:00 PM is amazing: three drinks from a menu that includes draft beer, wine, and sparkling wine, plus snacks—all for ¥1,000. I used it on both days of my two-night stay. And since I was a guest at the Accommodation, I also got 10% off—great value. Of course, breakfast at the same restaurant was also very satisfying. If I had to mention something disappointing: during breakfast on the first day, an inconsiderate guest made an intense complaint in the restaurant, and the staff were tied up dealing with it. I felt sorry for them—and it was truly disruptive because they couldn’t attend to other guests. I’d love to stay here again on my next trip to Hakata! Thank you very much for your hospitality.

This is for guests staying on Saturday.

I was looking for Accommodation in Fukuoka on a Saturday, but prices were significantly higher everywhere—almost more expensive than Tokyo. I chose this place because the entrance photos looked great and because Diamond members are supposed to receive an upgrade. The entrance was indeed impressive and nice. However, the Room felt only slightly better than a Business Hotel, and even the wallpaper artwork was the kind that imitates books, which I’ve seen at other Hotels. At check-in—probably because it was Saturday—I was simply told, “You are a Diamond member, but we have no Rooms available for an upgrade.” It’s probably best not to expect upgrades on Saturdays even with Diamond status, so you won’t be disappointed. I understand it’s a benefit only when there are vacant Rooms. I added breakfast as well; it felt appropriate for the price. That said, many Hotels in Fukuoka raise prices to more than double on Saturdays compared with weekdays, so if you stay on a weekday it may be good value. If you plan to stay on a Saturday, it may be worth keeping that in mind.

A Hotel with an Uncertain Title

I stayed for one night on a business trip. I stay at hotels about 70 nights a year for business and travel. This Hotel was rebranded from the former Hyatt Regency, and I stayed here several times back when it was Hyatt. - Location: On the east side of Hakata Station, a bit of a walk. The area isn’t very lively, so if you prefer having lots of restaurants around the Hotel, this is a slight downside. - Public areas: The entrance lobby is a wonderful open atrium with a great sense of space. - Guest rooms: It didn’t seem much different from when it was Hyatt, though my memory is not completely clear. - Service: There are multiple self check-in kiosks in a self-service setup. However, one staff member was assigned to each kiosk and just stood there watching. If you’re staffing it that heavily, I felt they might as well handle check-in directly—especially since the kiosks weren’t very user-friendly. - Breakfast: There were local dishes from across Kyushu (not just Fukuoka), such as Shimabara somen noodles, karashi renkon (mustard lotus root), satsuma-age fish cakes, and udon. The way mentaiko was served (just one small portion on a tiny plate) felt a bit stingy. Overall, it was good. - Overall: My impression is that the Hotel’s direction isn’t very clear—whether it wants to improve service to raise satisfaction or keep prices more reasonable with minimal service. That’s why I chose this title.

Insufficient instructions on how to use the in-room amenities.

Although the facilities are new, there were no instructions—only a mobile phone was left in the room. Even when I followed the coffee maker instructions, it did not drip coffee properly. Overall, the in-room usage guidance is insufficient.

    We had a wonderful stay.

The property has a wonderful atmosphere, and stepping into the entrance, I was impressed by the classic, calming interior. Both the room and the bathroom were very clean, and I slept soundly in the comfortable bed. Our trip for three women became a truly wonderful time. Thank you to all the front desk staff for your warm smiles!

A well-balanced Hotel with just the right feel.

I’ve stayed here several times, and every time I’m reminded how much I love this place, so I leave a Review each time as well. I often stay on my own as a woman, and the location near Hakata Station is incredibly convenient—I’ve never felt inconvenienced. The scent when I enter the Hotel always makes me feel at ease. The Room is clean, and I run a bath in the spacious bathroom morning and night to relax and recover from fatigue. I stay at various hotels, but it’s rare to find one with such great value for money, so I plan to keep coming back. This time it was just one night, but thank you for taking care of me. As we head into the hotter season, please take care of yourselves while you work.

Using our service again after a long time

I stayed here again after a long time—this was probably my second stay since the rebranding from Hyatt. Despite the age of the building, it seems to be well maintained; the guest rooms and other areas were very clean and comfortable. I also had breakfast, and considering the price, it felt like good value and tasted great. However, at check-in I was assisted by someone who didn’t seem to be new, but I couldn’t tell what was taking so long. A guest who started their check-in after me at the next counter finished first. They also didn’t seem familiar with IKYU Diamond member benefits or my Reservation Plan—there was no guidance at all about breakfast, whether an upgrade applied, or the checkout time. The only thing explained was parking (perhaps because there is a fee). In the end, I called the front desk the next morning to confirm checkout time. Since check-in is an opportunity to create a first impression of a Hotel, this part was disappointing—but aside from that, everything else was excellent.

Did you forget the Diamond Member benefits?

Straight diagonally from Hakata Station. A very convenient location. The bookshelf decor right after entering the entrance was impressive. The atmosphere was very nice. However, the shower water pressure was very weak, which made showering a bit inconvenient. There was also a slight sewer-like smell that bothered me, but the Room was clean and nice overall. I later realized that it seems all the benefits for IKYU Diamond members were forgotten. It wasn’t even a busy day, so that was disappointing. I was also told checkout was at 11:00. Breakfast was okay. The bread was delicious, but on the second day the bread I wanted wasn’t available. When I asked, I was told, “We’re out for today,” so I had no choice but to eat something else. After I finished, the bread I wanted had been replenished. That left me wondering.

A wonderful Hotel that feels like another world

I stayed in a twin Room without breakfast. As an IKYU Diamond member benefit, I received an upgrade to a Room with a separate washing area. Since I was injured, I had requested a Room with a separate washing area. They replied to my email quickly, and the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming with smiles. The Room was spacious and comfortable, and I connected the TV and enjoyed watching movies at my leisure. I struggled a bit with how to use the ILLY coffee machine, but the coffee was delicious. I also really liked the scent throughout the Hotel.

    This time, the hotel...

This time, the hotel arranged two rooms for us: one triple room and one double room. The triple room was on the 9th floor, while the double room was on a lower floor. At check-in, we were first assigned a room on the 3rd floor, but as soon as we entered, there was a very strong unpleasant odor. We initially thought it was because the air conditioning hadn’t been turned on yet, so we left our luggage, turned on the AC, and went out. However, when we returned later, the smell was still there. We asked the front desk if we could change rooms, but even after moving to another room, there was still an unpleasant smell. Because of this experience, I may not book this hotel again next time.

Thank you for your continued support—we truly appreciate it.

Every time I visit Fukuoka, I always stay here. It’s a favorite Hotel that I’ve even recommended to relatives, so I was surprised to see the recent drop in ratings. However, after staying this time, I can understand some of the reasons… It may be unavoidable due to the impact of inbound tourism, but these are the points I would like improved: - Front desk staff service Their frustration when dealing with foreign guests showed in their facial expressions and attitude, which was very intimidating. I lined up because I needed assistance at the front desk, but ended up turning back. - Room amenities Since the slippers are not disposable, I would like you to provide disposable slippers. There is no body sponge among the amenities, and it concerns me that towels are shared. The other amenities are well provided, so having this as well would be helpful. - Breakfast The food tastes great and it’s one of my favorites, but there is far too little food compared with the number of seats. I don’t think variety is an issue, but there were too many empty dishes. I often saw both foreign and Japanese guests repeatedly asking staff to “please refill.” There still seems to be space available, and there also seem to be enough staff on hand, so I hope this can be improved.

    The atmosphere is great.

It’s disappointing that the issue of not being able to watch TV from the sofa still hasn’t been improved—surely something can be done… The bathroom has a stylish design, but it took quite a long time for the tub to fill. The lounge has a great selection of alcohol, but the food is underwhelming. I visited again after a long time, and it felt unchanged from before—disappointing. A bit more creativity would be appreciated. The bed was very spacious, and I slept soundly. It’s a Hotel I really like, so I’ll visit again!

The lobby’s open atrium and library-like atmosphere and furnishings are wonderful, and could be a deciding factor in choosing this Hotel.

    Satisfied

I stayed for one night while sightseeing in Hakata. It was a better Hotel than I expected. The pillow, sheets, and samue were all soft and comfortable, and I had a very pleasant stay. The breakfast buffet felt stylish, and the food was cut into small pieces, making it easy to eat—I was very satisfied. However, early in the morning, noise from the floor above echoed quite a bit and was loud, so I rated my satisfaction as 4 out of 5. That was the only slight disappointment; otherwise, it was a wonderful Hotel. Thank you very much.

    Spring Trip to Fukuoka

I stayed for a 4-night Multiple Night Stay on my spring trip to Fukuoka. Based in Hakata, I also visited Yanagawa and Mojiko, making it a very fulfilling trip. In Fukuoka, the food was excellent every day—meat, seafood, sweets, ramen, and udon. When I visit Fukuoka again, I would like to stay at this Hotel because it is close to the station and has a wonderful interior atmosphere.

    A stylish, modern Ho...

A stylish, modern Hotel with no unnecessary frills. The bookshelf in the first-floor entrance felt like a wonderful welcome and made me look forward to a great stay. It’s also conveniently located within walking distance of Hakata Station, and overall I was very satisfied. There were a few points that kept me from giving a perfect score. 1) The lounge had a nice atmosphere, with sofa seating where you can relax comfortably. While the drinks were sufficient, there were very few options for snacks and food, which felt quite different from other Hotel lounges and was a bit disappointing. 2) I was very bothered by the smell of the shower curtain in the bathroom. I noticed it as soon as I entered the Room, so I would like to see this improved. 3) There was no baggage rack, and there was also no stand or bench to open my suitcase on, so I had no choice but to spread it out on the floor. I agree with keeping things simple and minimal, but I hope essential items will be provided as standard amenities.

A spacious Room for three—perfect for a comfortable girls’ trip stay.

Three of us (all women) stayed in a triple Room. <What we liked> - It’s fairly close even on foot from the station, and there’s a convenience store right nearby. - The extra bed was comfortably firm, and overall it was very convenient. - We appreciated having separate (two-piece) pajamas provided. - The lobby was lovely. (We were choosing between two options, and decided on this place after seeing photos of the lobby.) - It was great that the bathroom and toilet were separate. - We were grateful for the bottled water provided. - The bathtub was large, so we could relax properly. - The slippers were made of nice material. <What disappointed us> - Because the bathroom door is glass, it would have been better if there were blinds on the door so other guests could use the sink or toilet without feeling awkward while someone is bathing. - There was a pod-style espresso machine in the Room, but we would have preferred drip coffee. We even said to each other that we don’t really drink espresso in our Room... - It would have been nice to have glass tumblers. - Breakfast was delicious; however, the coffee at breakfast wasn’t very good.

    Disappointing

I used this place for the first time in about a year. Previously, I had a good impression of the front desk service, but this time it was terrible. The poor attitude during check-in and even when I went to borrow a pen was disappointing. Despite higher rates due to inbound demand, the service has declined... It was an unpleasant stay after a long time.

The front desk service could be improved.

This is not a luxury hotel, so I don't expect much, but despite staying here multiple times, I was asked at check-in if it was my first time using the accommodation. That was a bit disappointing. I also noticed that the shower pressure was weak. The room is clean.

    Spacious Room Perfect for Families

We found this hotel while searching for accommodation in Hakata that could accommodate four people in one room, and decided to stay here because of the beautiful lobby photos. The actual lobby was just as beautiful, if not more so, with a Christmas tree adding to the seasonal charm. We also had access to the lounge, where we enjoyed delicious Amaou cider. It was always quiet and relaxing whenever we visited. The room comfortably accommodated four people with four beds while still providing space for a counter table and a large TV, which made our entire family happy. The bathroom was spacious as well. We appreciated having a coffee maker and humidifier in the room; however, being foreign-made, they were slightly confusing to use at first. Additionally, there were only two card keys provided for the room—having one per person would have been more convenient.

There is an issue with the front desk staff's service.

Many front desk staff do not seem to understand the benefits of IKYU. Those who do understand adjust the parking ticket processing time to 1:00 PM to match the checkout time, but many do not, and it is often processed at 12:00 PM, leading to charges upon exit. Please ensure consistency in operations.

Surprisingly exceptional. Would love to stay again.

I stayed here during a business trip, expecting it to be a Business Hotel. What a wonderful Hotel it turned out to be! The delightful fragrance throughout the Hotel and the large Christmas tree perfectly matched with various books created such a lovely atmosphere. One small downside was that the comforter was too thin, and I ended up catching a cold. Since I returned late at night due to consecutive business dinners, I felt hesitant to request an extra blanket and slept while shivering. However, this is likely due to the season, and I plan to ask for one next time, so it's not really a complaint. The water pressure in the shower was slightly weak, which was also a bit disappointing.

    I was not satisfied ...

I was not satisfied with this Hotel, especially the service. From arrival to check-in, the staff's attitude felt cold. There was no explanation about the Facility or services, and only minimal assistance was provided. During my one-month trip in Japan, this was the only Hotel where I experienced such treatment, which left me very disappointed.
