The finest Accommodation with views of Mt. Fuji
We stayed here to celebrate my elderly parents’ birthdays. Highlights of this Accommodation: - The view of Mt. Fuji across Lake Kawaguchi while soaking in the balcony footbath is breathtaking. - In the evening, you can enjoy complimentary drinks such as beer and wine in the lounge, along with free nuts and ice cream. - Dinner is served in your Room, and you can dine comfortably at a relaxed pace on low chairs. Unfortunately, due to bad weather we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji even once during our stay, but the staff kindly gave us a lovely Mt. Fuji postcard. We’ll be back next year for another try! The dinner portions were more than we could finish and felt wasteful for us, so I rated the meals 4 stars—I’d love to see a “quality over quantity” Plan or a smaller-portion Plan. Overall, this is one of the very best Accommodations with views of Mt. Fuji, and it’s become one of our favorites! *The Mt. Fuji photo was taken from our Room in June last year.*

The service at Shuho...
The service at Shuhoukaku Kogetsu was excellent overall! The attention to detail was truly impressive. For example, when I noticed my name on the guest list at the entrance and tried to take a photo with my phone, someone approached me, asked where my name was, and offered to help take a picture together. During breakfast, I initially wanted a window seat but it seemed unavailable, so I gave up. Later on, someone specially arranged for us to sit at a four-person table with a view of Mt. Fuji for two people... Small gestures like these made me feel very cared for. Needless to say, the location is fantastic; just like Kosuiantei's accommodations, you can see Mt. Fuji from every room. Waking up in the morning and enjoying hot tea while admiring Mt. Fuji and its reflection directly from the room is my favorite way to experience this place!

【Room】★★★★★ The room was on the second floor, but the view was excellent. The room cleaning was thorough. 【Service】★★★★ The guidance to the room, meal service, and greetings at the entrance were all polite. When I inquired about a discrepancy of over 10,000 yen between the receipt amount presented at the front desk and the price on IKYU.com during checkout, I did not receive a clear answer. Instead, I was told "It’s okay" in an uncertain manner. In the end, it seems that the amount from IKYU.com will be charged correctly. 【Onsen/Bath】★★★★★ The indoor bath was average; neither good nor bad. The open-air bath had an outstanding location with a magnificent view of Mt. Fuji right in front of you. Both indoor and outdoor baths were moderately spacious with soft water quality that left me very satisfied. 【Facility】★★★★ There was a unique smell in the hallway—pleasantly described as woodsy or unpleasantly as resembling a zoo. 【Dining】★★★★★ Dinner was served in-room with excellent explanations of ingredients and perfect timing for serving dishes. We enjoyed our time watching Mt. Fuji and sunset together. 【Satisfaction】★★★★ I felt their hospitality through their polite service. Free drinks like beer and wine before dinner kept me cheerful throughout my stay. 【Overall Rating】★★★★ While there is a risk of not seeing Mt.Fuji during bad weather conditions, this can be sufficiently compensated by great dining experiences and soft water quality at this accommodation!

The view of Mount Fuji is spectacular.
I visited after a long time and enjoyed my stay. The all-you-can-drink service, including alcohol until 6:30 PM, is great. After check-in, I had draft beer, relaxed in the Onsen, and then enjoyed another draft beer. Dinner was also delicious. Above all, the best part was the stunning view of Mount Fuji. I will visit again!

Stunning Views of Mount Fuji
The guest rooms and main restaurant offer a stunning view of Mount Fuji. The service was excellent, but the Facility is slightly outdated overall.

The view is spectacular.
Compared to other nearby accommodations, the location is the best, offering an unobstructed view of Mount Fuji's base and a stunning reflection of Mount Fuji over Lake Kawaguchi. The room had a daybed-like sofa by the window, which was very convenient. However, the indoor air conditioning seemed to be centrally controlled and could not be adjusted individually, which was inconvenient.

A property with a spectacular view
I visited to show my parents Mount Fuji. As per the reviews, everything from the meals, staff response, and facilities was excellent and felt worth more than the price. The best part was the view from our room. The weather was great, allowing us to see a clear and beautiful view of Mount Fuji over Lake Kawaguchi (Kawaguchiko), so much so that we lost track of time just gazing at it! Additionally, the private bath was clean, and the view from the open-air bath was superb! Every place including our room, bath, and terrace were thoroughly cleaned which made our stay very pleasant. The staff were kind in various situations providing warm hospitality at this property. I now understand why reservations are difficult for this property after this stay; however, my parents and I are talking about visiting again in a different season next time. Thanks to all the staff for helping create wonderful memories with my parents. Thank you very much.

The staff was very kind and responsible. The dinner was abundant, so much that we couldn't finish it. It was wonderful to travel with the whole family and see the complete view of Mt. Fuji (Fuji-san).

The view of Mount Fuji is spectacular.
The view of Mount Fuji from the Room was beyond imagination. The dinner was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The tempura at breakfast was tasty, and there was purple sweet potato tempura, which reminded us of Okinawan Umukuji tempura, and my mother, who is from Okinawa, and I were deeply moved! It was so wonderful that I hope to share this experience with the whole family next time.

I was very satisfied.
When returning home from overseas, we extended our trip to Lake Kawaguchi at the children's request to see the beautiful Mt. Fuji. We were able to see the magnificent Mt. Fuji, and the whole family was moved. We could view Mt. Fuji from the restaurant, lobby, bath, and room, and we were captivated by its ever-changing shadows. We could also see its majestic appearance from early morning. The property was well-maintained, with fresh flowers in the toilets and rooms, and we enjoyed delicious meals. We are very grateful. Thank you very much. We would love to visit again.

This time, I stayed ...
This time, I stayed in a room with an onsen. I drove there, and from the parking lot, the staff was very helpful in guiding me. The check-in, stay, dinner, and check-out services were all excellent. The room was large and new, with two TVs that could be watched from the dining table and bed. The onsen in the room offered a direct view of Mount Fuji (Fujisan), and there were sliding doors for added privacy. The hotel's location is excellent, with Mount Fuji (Fujisan) right in front, completely unobstructed. The dinner was also very delicious. I highly recommend staying here when visiting Lake Kawaguchi (Kawaguchiko).

The room was way too hot but the air conditioner cannot be turned on. Room temperature in excess of 26°C even in late October. It would be most helpful if air conditioning was available.

It would have been perfect if it was sunny.
It was unfortunate that we couldn't see Mount Fuji at all due to the constant cloudy and rainy weather, but the Room bath was large, the public bath was pleasant, and I thought the footbath in the lounge would be a great scenic point if it were sunny. Relaxing spaces are arranged everywhere, and the service is good, making it easy to spend time. The meals served in the Room were quite large in quantity and had a wide variety of menus, so we couldn't finish them. The content was the classic Japanese kaiseki, so it would have been nice to have at least one original innovative dish that could only be enjoyed here. The prices of the alcohol were not too high and were reasonable. It gives the impression of a large-scale Ryokan with well-equipped Facilities.

Celebrating my mother's 80th birthday
This time, we used the facility to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. I wanted her to enjoy the hot springs while gazing at Mount Fuji, but unfortunately, she couldn't see it. It was truly disappointing. I heard that there are many days during this season when it can't be seen? The weather is a matter of luck, so it can't be helped. However, she was delighted with the delicious meals and the very smooth hot spring water. Also, thank you for the handwritten birthday card and gift. I was surprised because I was told during the accommodation confirmation call that there were no special birthday arrangements. Thank you very much. The person on the phone was very gentlemanly and pleasant, and I appreciate the consideration. I'm glad I chose this inn. Next time, I would like to visit during a season when Mount Fuji can be seen clearly. Thank you for taking care of us.

I recommend staying at Lake Kawaguchi.
We stayed for one night to celebrate our anniversary and to see Mount Fuji. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great, and we couldn't see Mount Fuji at all. Perhaps due to cancellations because of the weather, we were lucky enough to have our room upgraded. The next morning, we were fortunate to see the beautiful Mount Fuji, which made us satisfied. The room was thoroughly cleaned, and we had no complaints. The attendant who took care of us was very attentive, and we felt it was appropriate for the price level of the inn. If I had to point out one downside, it would be that since the room faces the lakeside, it is completely visible to other guests spending time or taking photos by the lake. However, once you move to the back of the room, it's not visible, so it's okay. All the hotels in this area face the lakeside, so it might be the same condition everywhere. At checkout, we left our luggage again, did some more sightseeing until our return train, and when we came back, they provided an unscheduled shuttle bus, allowing us to return to Kawaguchiko Station comfortably and smoothly without having to use the public bus and worry about other guests. If given the opportunity, I would like to stay here again.

We visited on a weekend for a three-generation family trip with the women in our family. It is in a great location on the shores of Lake Kawaguchi. The Ryokan’s hospitality was attentive in every detail, making it a wonderful and very comfortable place to stay. Dinner was delicious, beautifully presented, and truly outstanding! Breakfast was buffet-style, with many carefully prepared Japanese side dishes, and everything was excellent. Unfortunately it was cloudy so we couldn’t get a clear view of Mt. Fuji, but we would love to visit again when the air is crisp in the autumn and winter seasons. Thank you very much.

The view of Mt. Fuji from the footbath is simply breathtaking.
The attentive service and delicious meals provide real peace of mind. Compared with two other well-known Hotels of a similar level, the dining here stands out above the rest. The footbath while looking at Mt. Fuji is amazing. This time the water was a bit too hot, so we couldn’t fully relax. We’d be happy if it could be set a little cooler. The complimentary drinks in the evening were also very relaxing—something we truly appreciated, as we like to unwind and take it easy at the Accommodation.
