A Blissful Stay Immersed in the Depths of Gion
Step away from the bustle of Gion and find yourself at this serene accommodation nestled in a stone-paved alley. The elegant entrance evokes both a pleasant sense of anticipation and the comforting feeling of returning home. This space, where traditional sukiya architecture meets modern sensibilities, is my cherished retreat to experience the essence of Kyoto. From my room, I enjoyed views of the charming Higashiyama streetscape. Without a television to distract, I indulged in the luxury of simply admiring the greenery in peaceful silence. The highlight, however, was undoubtedly the exquisite dining experience. Rice carefully selected by "Hachidaime Gihey" is cooked to perfection in master craftsman Ichihen Nakagawa's earthenware pot "Setsumon." Each bowl reflects unparalleled passion and skill—a true indulgence that leaves me deeply moved every time. Another joy is engaging with the chef and staff during casual conversations. From warm ginger tea upon arrival to local hidden spot recommendations from the concierge, their thoughtful yet unobtrusive hospitality always leaves a lasting impression. This rare accommodation satisfies intellectual curiosity while rejuvenating both mind and body. I look forward to returning again with each changing season to savor this unique "happiness."

1. The first impression: All the staff provide excellent service, both international and Japanese staff equally. 2. The second: The cuisine—crafted with incredible dedication by the head chef. 3. The third: The Room—so impressive that words can't do it justice. I was deeply moved by these experiences. Looking forward to visiting again next month! It would be great if you could arrange a partnered parking lot as well.

It was a luxurious time.
We stayed in the main building, utilizing a skip-floor Room. The spacious Room provided a sense of openness, allowing us to relax comfortably. We especially loved the tea room located on the left side of the entrance, which gave us a deeper sense of Japanese tradition. From the warm hospitality at check-in to the attentive care throughout our stay, we felt truly welcomed and would love to visit again.

The new building was also wonderful!
I have previously stayed at the main building, and this time I visited the new building. It was a very lovely building that harmonizes with the main building while also exuding a stylish atmosphere! The guest room was also very comfortable, and I felt that various aspects, including the service, were even more refined than before! We were not originally planning to have breakfast, but they kindly prepared it for us at the last minute, and we were truly taken care of. I would definitely like to use it again.
