    It was perfect for a refreshing summer getaway.

    When deciding where to spend a short Obon holiday, I found this place. I was sure it would be perfect for relaxing at the Accommodation, so I made a Reservation. Since I wanted to fully enjoy the private open-air bath in the Room, I booked the Luxury Suite. In conclusion, the meals, Room, baths, pool, and the staff’s hospitality were all outstanding. It was only a one-night Reservation, but it felt like at least two nights were necessary. We stayed as a family of three—my wife, child, and me—and had a wonderful time. Dinner was an Italian course meal. They also have an excellent wine selection, which we really enjoyed. For breakfast, you pick up salad and yogurt yourself, and you can choose either an omelet or scrambled eggs as the main dish. The bread is also exceptionally good and highly recommended—and of course you can have seconds. It was truly great—we’ll definitely come again!!     The amenities were n...

    The amenities were not the ones shown in the photos and were DHC instead, which was disappointing. Does this vary depending on the price? Some areas were not thoroughly cleaned, which was also disappointing. Service was average.

    The food is excellent.

    This was my first stay, and just as everyone says, the meals were outstanding. I’ve stayed at many Accommodations, but this was the most delicious by far. It wasn’t just tasty—the menu was exciting too, and I truly looked forward to mealtimes. Personally, I was especially impressed by how delicious the sautéed splendid alfonsino was. The Room was also very clean and comfortable. In addition, the location offers great access to everywhere, making sightseeing easy and convenient. When I visit Izu again someday, I’d love to stay here again. Thank you very much.

    The food is delicious.

    All the food was delicious. It felt more like an auberge than a Hotel. The bath and toilet in the Room were in the same space, although there was a partial partition. Even though the bath and toilet are connected, there is a door for the toilet and a door for the bath, and both can be used from inside, which felt confusing. If so, I would prefer a complete wall between the toilet and bath. That way, someone could use the toilet even while another person is using the bath...

    Both breakfast and dinner are very delicious.

    I was very satisfied with the complimentary drinks and light snacks in the lobby, the cozy guest room and spacious bathroom, and the excellent food. The only disappointments were having to change into regular clothes to go to the restaurant, and noticing a chlorine smell because the bath uses a circulation system. I would like to visit again to enjoy the delicious cuisine.

    I was impressed by how spacious the Room was. I felt very relaxed. However, I was disappointed that a food I don’t like was served in the meal.

    This is my second stay.

    This was our second stay. It’s rare to find an Accommodation at this price with an in-room Onsen large enough for two adults to stretch out, so we decided to return. Because it’s a semi-open-air bath with proper screens, my wife—who doesn’t like insects—can relax and really enjoys it. A typhoon hit on the date of our first Reservation, but we were told they would offer a refund if we rebooked within the same month, so we visited again on a different day. There is no Shuttle Service, so without a car you’ll need to take a taxi. It’s also slightly inconvenient that there aren’t any convenience stores nearby—or even vending machines—but the delicious meals and spacious bath are extremely appealing. Spending time soaking in the Onsen while listening to birdsong was pure bliss. We were told the chef has changed since last year. Dinner used to be French but has now switched to Italian; it was still excellent. They served mainly local ingredients, plus rare featured items as the main dish (this time: Ruibi pork on the first night and red grouper on the second), which we were very satisfied with. Breakfast was the same both nights—salad, yogurt, bread, and either an omelet or scrambled eggs—and it was also the same as our previous stay, so it seems to be a set menu. Compared with dinner, it feels a bit modest. It felt like staff rotated quite a bit depending on the time of day. Some staff members weren’t yet fluent in Japanese, but they worked hard and their hospitality left an even better impression. What stood out more was an older staff member chatting continuously in the kitchen during what should have been a quiet breakfast time. The Wi-Fi was excellent—possibly faster than at home—and the air conditioning worked well. However, since the Onsen runs quite hot, having a small circulator fan would be nice. The hair dryer isn’t old, but its airflow is slightly weak. There’s lots of greenery around this Accommodation; when we went for a walk we even saw squirrels. I think this is an ideal Accommodation for slowing down and spending time soaking in an Onsen.

    Third night of our 50th wedding anniversary trip in Izu-Kogen.

    While keeping my husband’s health in mind after his major surgery three years ago, we enjoy regular domestic trips of two or three nights each month. Choosing this Hotel for our third night was truly the right decision. We were able to relax completely, and the bath in our Room was a wonderful Onsen. The meals—highly rated in Reviews—were delicious, and although wine at small, luxury Hotels is often expensive, we were pleasantly surprised to find it reasonably priced and enjoyable here. Since the cuisine is so good, we would be happy if wine pairing were available. All of the staff were kind and helped us unwind, and we are glad we chose this Hotel for our final day. This year also marks our 50th wedding anniversary, and they even celebrated with us—another Accommodation we would love to visit again.

    Great value for money

    We stayed in a Room with a semi-open-air bath, and for this price, the view and the Facility were outstanding. It seems the property has changed over time—from a privately owned villa to a training facility, then to a well-known Hotel group, and to what it is today—but the older parts have been nicely renovated. The dinner venue and French cuisine had an atmosphere reminiscent of Kanaya Hotel. I was surprised at how reasonably priced the wine was—I only realized after ordering by the glass! The happy hour selection is compact but quite good. It would have been nice if sparkling wine had been included as well. The pool is such an iconic feature, but during seasons when it can’t be used, I hope it can be maintained more beautifully as a reflecting pool.

    Excellent value for money

    The Facility makes the most of Izu Kogen’s nature and views, and everything you need is well maintained. The meals were excellent, and we also enjoyed happy hour. Above all, every staff member who assisted us struck the perfect balance—present when needed but never intrusive—making our stay extremely comfortable. Outstanding value for money! We’d love to return. (The Onsen water didn’t feel particularly distinctive, so having an analysis report available to view would make it even more enjoyable.)

    We had a relaxing stay.

    The spacious property was spotless throughout, and we were able to relax comfortably. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, making the most of seasonal ingredients. Unfortunately it rained, but we enjoyed a leisurely afternoon happy hour in the lounge while looking out over the garden. We would love to visit again on a clear day when we can see the ocean.

    The food is delicious.

    At first, we were satisfied with the food. However, there was red mold and mold on the bathroom floor, hair in the bathtub, and even hair that appeared when we lifted the blanket, which made us feel that the cleaning was not thorough. There was no explanation about the facilities or services such as “happy hour,” so it ended without us knowing anything. We had also requested a birthday plate by email, but it had not been arranged, which was very disappointing. The food was delicious.

    A Luxurious Auberge with a Relaxing Private Onsen

    My wife and I stayed here after viewing the Kawazu cherry blossoms. Although it’s an Onsen Accommodation, there is no large public bath; instead, you enjoy the Onsen in the private bath in your Room—a bold concept. The meals were French cuisine made with local ingredients, and everything was delicious from the appetizers to the fish and meat main courses and dessert. During our stay, we hardly ran into other guests at all, so we were able to relax at a leisurely pace.

    A quiet place to relax

    This is one of my favorite places in the Kanto area to get away from distractions and spend time quietly. It’s peaceful, clean, and the food is delicious and beautifully presented—an ideal place to reset. I also love being able to enjoy an Onsen in the Room. Another plus is that artificial, chemical fragrances are kept to a minimum, which makes it very comfortable.

    I wish it could be improved.

    The meals were generous, and when we asked for more bread, they brought out different kinds, which were delicious—overall we were very satisfied. The color of the Room curtains was wonderful. However, on closer look, there was a large buildup of dust in several places on the pleated upper section of the curtains, and a lot of dust on the air conditioner vent as well. It was clear that cleaning had not been thorough. It bothered me and I immediately couldn’t relax anymore, which was disappointing. The lady in charge of breakfast was friendly at first, but partway through she started clearing up; even when I greeted her as I left the dining room, she didn’t respond. Since she had already collected the dishes because we had finished eating, I think paying attention to guests as they leave would make them feel better. It’s a good Accommodation overall, but it’s disappointing.

    It was completely disappointing.

    Our previous stay was very pleasant, and my wife loved it so much that we decided to stay again. However, this time our expectations were greatly disappointed. We booked a meal-inclusive plan, and there were only two parties including us. Although we arrived at the table slightly earlier than the other party, all services prioritized them while we were consistently treated as an afterthought. From the timing of serving meals to clearing dishes after finishing our meal, everything was delayed for us until the other party had finished their meal. Having worked in the service industry for many years myself, I understand that distinguishing between customers is sometimes necessary. Prioritizing VIPs or frequent customers is natural—like priority boarding on flights—but such prioritization should be handled either with clear communication or discreetly without making it obvious to others. The blatant favoritism shown in this case with only two parties present was completely unacceptable. That said, other staff members provided excellent and pleasant service overall; however, one restaurant hall staff's behavior ruined everything. Additionally, my wife found both the menu (similar to our previous visit) and service disappointing. Furthermore, the remote control for the bidet in our room did not function at all—possibly due to dead batteries? We had already made another reservation but decided to cancel it. It’s unlikely that we will stay here again unless there are significant changes made moving forward.

    You can relax and unwind.

    I had a relaxing stay in a Room with an open-air bath. The view from the window in the morning was also beautiful. The food was delicious, and all the staff were very pleasant, making it a truly satisfying experience. After arriving, there was a happy hour at the lobby until 5 PM, which I really enjoyed. The snacks were tasty, and there were drinks available; I could have just the right amount for myself. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    An accommodation that may differ from your expectations, but its evaluation depends on your perspective.

    Stayed for 2 nights and 3 days in late November, using the accommodation on the second night. Initially planned for a one-night stay after staying in Nishi-Izu the previous day, but changed plans as this accommodation was on sale and offered a more affordable rate than usual. If I recall correctly, this used to be part of the "Kanaya Group," but perhaps not? Either way, I had been curious about this accommodation and decided to stay. First, regarding access: it is located in a villa area of Izu Kogen, making it slightly difficult to find. The roads are narrow, and so is the parking lot—caution is needed. The building seems to have been renovated from an old villa or retreat facility, resulting in some inefficient use of space. As it was a weekday, there seemed to be minimal staff available; don't expect high-class hotel-level service here. The room we stayed in was the largest one with an open-air bath attached; however, overall usability was poor and the placement of the open-air bath felt awkward. On a positive note, dinner consisted of a Western-style course meal that was excellent—delicious food at such an affordable accommodation fee is remarkable! The chef was also friendly and approachable. In conclusion: if you approach your stay with the mindset that you're visiting what feels like an old retreat facility offering luxurious meals rather than expecting top-tier service across all aspects, you'll likely have a highly satisfying experience here. However, those seeking consistently high standards may feel disappointed at times. With realistic expectations set beforehand, this can be an excellent place to stay!

    Dinner was excellent!

    The meals were highly satisfying. I chose the standard dinner course, and everything was delicious. The Room's bath is a unit bath style, which felt slightly inconvenient. Amenities are very well-equipped.

    Continuous improvement

    This hotel continues to become even more remarkable. The Diamond Member benefits have been updated, and every visit brings new discoveries. What remains unchanged is the wonderful hospitality, the stay in beautifully clean rooms, the relaxing Onsen, and the delicious cuisine. I travel somewhere at least twice a month and stay at various places, but there’s no other place I visit as frequently as this one. To be precise, while I do visit company retreats where I used to work about once every two months, this is the only place I make sure to visit at least once every six months. From late last month through this month especially, I've traveled extensively—staying at charming classic hotels in Gamagori, Roku Kyoto, Waldorf Astoria Osaka, Conrad Osaka among others—spending two nights each weekend. However, distant locations are not always easy to revisit often. I'm truly grateful for having such a wonderful place so close by. I look forward to visiting again soon!

    A hidden, elegant hotel located just off the main road, not too large in size. Guest rooms with ocean views, clean facilities, an open-air Onsen bath, and impeccable service make it a perfect stay. A hotel worth visiting again.

    The bathroom is a bit...

    We stayed at the accommodation for our wedding anniversary. Descending a narrow slope in a residential area, we arrived at a European-style gate and building. From the lobby, you can see the pool and enjoy a welcome drink. The room was spacious and clean. The mattress on the bed was comfortable, allowing us to sleep soundly. The meals were French cuisine, with just the right portions and delicious flavors. One disappointing aspect was the bathroom. Since it wasn’t a room with an open-air bath, it had an ordinary unit bath like those in typical homes. Although there was a shower above the bathtub like in foreign bathrooms, there was no shower curtain for some reason. This caused water to soak the floor when using the shower. A separate shower booth would have been better. Additionally, it took an hour to fill up the bathtub because of low water flow from the faucet. The water itself was Onsen-quality and very pleasant; I wanted to bathe multiple times but could only manage twice—once at night and once in the morning—which was disappointing. Despite these points about the bathroom, we were satisfied with everything else about this accommodation!

    We stayed at the accommodation for a couple's trip. We were satisfied with the cleanliness of the room, meals, and the open-air bath. However, the shower area and washroom were separate, and it would have been more comfortable if there were a towel hanger, mirror, and hairdryer in the dressing area in front of the shower room (where the closet is located).

    It was a highly satisfying stay.

    Stayed for 2 nights in a room with a semi-open-air onsen and included dinner and breakfast. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and provided a very comfortable stay. The bath was also very large, and although there was no public bath, I thoroughly enjoyed the onsen. On the second day, I spent the entire day indulging in the onsen experience. The quality of the meals was excellent, with both taste and portion size being highly satisfying. The staff's service was refined, making it a very pleasant accommodation to stay at. Overall, it was an extremely satisfying stay, and I quickly made my next reservation.

    We chose not to include breakfast and fully enjoyed our stay with a 12:00 checkout. The Room was spacious, and the open-air bath was large and relaxing. Although we arrived late and had limited time for happy hour, we made the most of it. Dinner was satisfying in both quality and quantity, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We plan to visit again for a special occasion next time.
