    I’d love to stay here again.

    Unfortunately, a typhoon came through and there were days when we couldn’t go outside, but indoor activities were still offered and our child had a great time. The staff were wonderful. Everything about the property was great. No matter where we were, they noticed right away and checked in with us—it really comes down to the people. Thank you very much. We would definitely love to stay again.

    It has a resort-like atmosphere...

    This was my second stay at Halekulani, following my visit in January. Although it is a Resort Hotel, the lobby is a bit small. At check-in it gets very crowded, and you end up standing too close to the person next to you. Haha. The breakfast restaurant is also small, so we had to wait an hour. Other than that, it was a very good Hotel and I was very satisfied.

    A heavenly Hotel

    An amazing Hotel where the word “paradise” kept coming to mind throughout our stay! Not only does it boast a great location overlooking Okinawa’s beautiful ocean, but although some time has passed since it opened, the Facility and Rooms are impeccably maintained and spotless. The staff’s attentive service made our stay truly comfortable. Especially at the pool and beach, they promptly provided towels and water when we went to the parasols, and at the beach they also prepared life jackets and snorkeling masks right away—so it was incredibly convenient to go empty-handed. We were also grateful that our Room had more than enough towels and water. The swimmable area of the beach isn’t very large, but by joining marine activities we were able to fully enjoy the stunning sea! The club lounge is small, but it never felt crowded, and everything we tried was delicious. Breakfast was excellent at every restaurant, and we were happy that it could be switched to lunch as well. It was our first visit, but it was such a wonderful Hotel that we definitely want to come back every year!

    We enjoyed our stay even during the typhoon.

    We stayed with four adults by connecting to the neighboring Room. A typhoon happened to be approaching on the afternoon we checked in. We still enjoyed ourselves in many ways—joining activities such as resin art, taking walks around the Hotel, and going to the gym. The only indoor pool that was open was completely filled with children, so we couldn’t use it. However, thanks to the staff’s hard work getting everything ready, we were able to swim in the Orchid Pool on the morning before checkout after the typhoon had passed, which became a wonderful memory. It was disappointing that there was no turndown service, but our family loves spending a relaxing time inside the Hotel and we were very satisfied. The staff are always cheerful and kind, which is one of the reasons we love Halekulani Okinawa. We will be back again next year. Thank you very much.

    As last year, we sta...

    As last year, we stayed for several days during the Obon holiday period this year as well. The number of staff and their hospitality were unchanged, and I think they are excellent. One small disappointment this time was that although it was supposed to be the same Room type as last year, there was no walk-in closet, which made it less convenient. Since we stayed multiple nights, we had a lot of children’s clothes to manage, so overall convenience declined. For breakfast, we mostly used the buffet. However, there were only a few changes in the side dishes, so having it every day became a bit repetitive. The selection is plentiful and definitely delicious, but I would have appreciated a bit more variety overall, including more bread options.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    This was our second stay, and it was truly a wonderful Hotel, just as impressive as the first time. The staff were all very kind, and we were very satisfied with the service at the pool, including bath towels and water! Our 3-year-old also really liked how clean the Room was. The candy we received when leaving was given to our child, but it turned out to be spicy—so we would have been happier if it had been a sweet candy instead.

    Is the room’s location the most important point?

    Because the restaurants are located in the central area, if your Room is at the far end, you will be going back and forth to the center all year round. It can be tiring. It is important to request a Room location where you can see the pool with the Halekulani logo. For restaurants, the steakhouse is recommended. The clams and shrimp are delicious. For breakfast, the buffet style offers high satisfaction.

    There are many thing...

    There are many things that live up to the Halekulani name, but this time I’d like to mention two disappointing points… It was a shame that there is no large public bath or sauna on the premises. (You can use a sauna if you book an aroma service at the spa, but it didn’t feel like an easily accessible Facility.) Dinner Since Kingdom was fully booked, we used the dinner buffet in a special venue. Despite the high price, both the variety and taste of the food fell below expectations, and it was noticeable that many guests left in under an hour. As someone who drinks alcohol, there were some benefits for me, but for my wife who doesn’t drink, satisfaction was low and it left her dissatisfied. (The price should be different depending on whether alcohol is included.) Breakfast buffet Previously, you could order some items from your table after being seated, but that service was no longer available. (Pancakes were also gone.)

    It was a wonderful stay.

    Everything was excellent—the location, the Facilities, and the staff’s service. There were well-defined adults-only areas, making it perfect for an adults’ getaway. Also, while many Resort Hotels in Okinawa have seen fewer native Japanese-speaking staff in recent years due to the inbound tourism boom, it left a strong impression that this place still values Japanese guests.

    A Special Time

    The staff’s smiles were wonderful—so much so that I wondered if they only hire people with great smiles. Their service and our Hotel stay were flawless. Dinner at Silloo is highly recommended; even young parents can leave their children in care and enjoy a truly special time together. The shop seems to focus on curated, special items, which I understand, but it would have been nice to have a few more essentials in one corner. Even so, the luxurious yet friendly Halekulani experience was outstanding, and it makes me look forward to my next visit.

    Has the person in charge changed?\nHas the management policy changed?

    We visit with our family almost every year, sometimes more than once. This time, due to an extended stay caused by the typhoon, we stayed for four nights. Overall we were satisfied—which is why we keep coming back—but because we want to continue staying here, I would like to point out a few disappointing areas and hope they will be improved. On the second morning, the boiled eggs at breakfast could not be peeled at all, and neither I nor my child could eat them. This was a basic mistake. It was improved from the next day onward, though. At the steakhouse on the second night, all of the staff seemed unusually down and it felt uncomfortable. I don’t know what happened, but the atmosphere was so different from usual that our whole family became quiet—even though it was my birthday. The French breakfast also felt subdued. The typhoon was difficult for guests as well, and for a Hotel of Halekulani’s class, I would have preferred brighter hospitality from the staff in such circumstances. It also felt like there were more non-Japanese staff than before; however, their Japanese is not very strong, so regardless of their intentions it can come across as rather businesslike—and it was disappointing that it ended up feeling like being abroad.

    Three-Generation Family Trip

    This was our children’s first trip to Okinawa. I’d heard from colleagues for a long time that Halekulani Okinawa is wonderful, so from the moment we started planning this trip, this Hotel was our only choice! We arranged a partner hired car Shuttle Service through the Hotel, and they provided water and cold towels and played Okinawan music in the car, so we were able to relax on the way to the Hotel. Everyone at the Hotel provided lovely service and made us feel very comfortable. In particular, the hospitality of the staff member who guided us to our Room was outstanding and truly made us happy. At the restaurant, they handled food allergies thoroughly, so we could enjoy our meal with peace of mind. Thank you very much. This was a Hotel I had always wanted to visit, but now it’s a Hotel I already want to return to—we’re even planning our stay for next year. The Room was absolutely wonderful, and we would love to stay in this same Room again. Thank you sincerely for everything.

    We stayed here for our anniversary!

    We stayed here for our 4th anniversary trip. Throughout our stay, the hospitality from all the staff was truly wonderful, and we were able to spend a very memorable time. The pool was also fantastic—especially the night pool. There were hardly any other guests that day, so it felt like we had it all to ourselves. We also appreciated receiving two drinks per person. For dinner, we dined at Kingdom. Because it was our 4th anniversary, they prepared a surprise dessert for us, which truly moved us. On the other hand, there was almost no dress code in the dining venue, and many guests were dressed casually. There were also many families with children. Since it was a special occasion and we had hoped to enjoy a relaxed meal in a more adult atmosphere, this differed slightly from our expectations. We are also grateful that the in-room cake we requested was rescheduled to a later time to suit our needs—they handled it very flexibly. The breakfast pancakes were some of the best I’ve ever had! When using valet service on departure, we were told to “please wait seated on the lobby chairs,” so we did. However, there was no notification when our car was ready, and we ended up having to ask a staff member ourselves. It’s a small thing, but since it happened at the very end of our stay, it felt a bit disappointing. They had prepared an anniversary card and gifts for us in the car. We could feel their warm thoughtfulness right until the very end, making this an unforgettable anniversary. It was truly an excellent stay—this is a Hotel where we would love to return for another important anniversary. Thank you for such a wonderful time.

    It was very relaxing.

    The weather stayed sunny throughout our stay, but we didn’t go out much and instead fully enjoyed our Hotel stay thanks to the excellent hospitality. See you again next year.

    I often had unpleasant experiences.

    I often felt uncomfortable and not at ease during my stay. The level of service and hospitality varies greatly depending on the staff member. I felt the Hotel is too large for the number of staff and what they can reasonably handle. The issues I would like to see improved are as follows: - The wait from arrival to check-in is too long. - On the 4th floor of the Sunset Wing, there is almost no ocean view, and the Room is fully visible to pedestrians on the promenade. I cannot recommend it, and I will never stay in that Room again. - Although it was described as evening service, staff rang the doorbell twice and knocked repeatedly at 9:30 p.m. in a Room with small children, waking my child who had already fallen asleep. On top of that, turndown service never came. - At the buffet, staff pass by our table many times but do not clear used plates. (At other one-star Hotels, plates are cleared promptly; I feel their service level may actually be higher.) There were also positive experiences—some staff members truly provide excellent hospitality. I hope staffing levels will be adjusted to match the Hotel’s scale, and that more attentive service will be provided.

    A Hotel you’ll want to stay at again and again

    Since staying at Halekulani in Hawaii, I’ve become a big fan and have stayed about 10 times in total, including Hawaii. This time, I stayed one night each in the Beachfront Wing and the Sunset Wing. Housekeeping and overall quality are excellent—truly outstanding even compared with other luxury resort facilities. I have no complaints about the Facility or service, but room assignment can be disappointing. For the Beachfront Wing, I made a Reservation for the Premier Ocean View Plan. Deluxe rooms are on floors 1–3, while Premier rooms are on floors 4–10. Having floors 4 and 10 under the same Plan feels uneven: getting a higher floor is great, but getting the 4th floor at the same price is frustrating. I’d appreciate it if the Plans were divided more finely by floor level. Unfortunately, we were assigned an end room on the 5th floor this time, so it felt more like a partial ocean view. On the second night in the Sunset Wing, I requested a higher floor if possible and was placed on the 7th floor; however, since that wing is very wide horizontally, our Room was quite far from the lobby and getting around was somewhat inconvenient. Given these assignments, it may be difficult to secure better-located Rooms through an IKYU Reservation. As an IKYU Diamond member I usually book via IKYU.com, but since I want to continue staying at Halekulani, I’m considering switching my booking site to Leading Hotels. Also, my child loves swimming so we enjoyed the pool area; during high season it would be helpful if Orchid Pool could stay open until around 8:00 AM. In terms of design—including Orchid Pool for children—the pools feel more adult-oriented than at other properties, so some kids may find them less exciting. Overall it’s essentially a Hotel for adults, but there were still many families (including us), likely because so many people love Halekulani.

    It was the happiest time ever!

    Everything—the people, the Room, the views, the dining, and the overall concept—was perfect. From the moment we checked in, we were welcomed by the Hotel staff’s wonderful smiles and warm, guest-focused hospitality, and I knew this would be an exceptional stay. Throughout our visit, their attentiveness and thoughtful care were outstanding, allowing our whole family to spend each day with a smile. They spoke to our children at eye level and kept them entertained as well, which truly warmed our hearts. I love Halekulani Okinawa! When we come back to Okinawa, we will definitely stay at Halekulani again!

    Repeat

    Because my previous stay was so wonderful, I extended my visit this time. I chose a different Room than last time, and Halekulani truly lived up to expectations. Views may come down to personal preference depending on the angle from the Room, but you can feel a sense of escape in any Room, turning your stay into something special. I was also happy that the hair dryer is from a brand I really like. It’s crowded during summer vacation, but it’s a well-managed Hotel with reliable service, so I felt at ease. It was an excellent stay.

    It makes me feel happy.

    My husband arrived looking serious, but the moment we stepped through the gate, his expression gradually brightened. Relaxing in an open, spotless Room while gazing at the sea and simply doing nothing—pure luxury. Delicious drinks and meals in the lounge and restaurants. Unwinding by the pool, or taking a short trip to the private beach to float in the ocean and let go completely. Then back to the Room for a refreshing bath and a cold drink to soothe you. Enjoying sunset over a wonderful dinner, then ending the night with a drink while being captivated by live music at House Without A Key. Excited for stargazing too—one day passes in no time. This is a Hotel where you can always feel happy. We left wishing we could stay one more night. We’d love to return again feeling refreshed and well. Thank you very much.

    Unparalleled hospitality and Japan’s best breakfast—enjoy the ultimate summer.

    Since it opened, we’ve stayed about once a year. We’ve visited during spring break and the Christmas season as well, but “peak summer” is still the most wonderful. Our younger child, who was so little back then, will start elementary school next year, and it makes us happy to build more memories at this Hotel as our children grow. This time, we joined the water cruise and diving for the first time. We were able to observe beautiful fish around the coral reef near the Hotel, and it was an amazing experience for our family. The Facility maintenance is always impeccable whenever we visit, which makes our stay very pleasant. The pool water clarity in particular is outstanding compared with other places—among the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. The towels and bathrobes in the Room were also wonderfully fluffy and relaxing. Above all, what truly stands out is the hospitality of the staff. During this stay, I suddenly had a health issue that required an unexpected hospital visit. With diving, a spa appointment, and a dinner course already scheduled for that day, I felt completely overwhelmed—but after speaking with a staff member, they flexibly rearranged everything for us. A day that could have been terrible turned into one of our best days ever; we are simply grateful. We were also very satisfied with the food. At the beachside bar, it was helpful to have tasty light meals such as sandwiches and French fries that kids can easily enjoy. At dinner there was live music on the terrace; dining while enjoying music right in front of us felt luxurious and made for a truly happy time. As for breakfast: in terms of variety, taste, presentation, and service—everything—I believe it’s among Japan’s best. Starting with smoothies followed by Hawaiian dishes, Okinawan dishes, Japanese cuisine and Western options—all delicious—and I always end up eating too much. We also appreciated being able to take drinks back to our Room. Once again it was an exceptional stay. We’ll be back as a family.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    Although our stay was short due to a late check-in, the Hotel’s views and the staff’s pleasant service made it a wonderful experience. In the middle of the night, my child threw up milk, and they kindly helped us. The food was delicious, but it felt a bit overpriced overall, and it was disappointing that service was slow and our order was forgotten several times. The bath was a stylish indoor type, but since we were traveling with children and the Room ended up soaked, I rated it 4. Overall, we were very satisfied.

    Wonderful hospitality

    We had a truly wonderful stay. We made our Reservation just two days in advance due to a family member’s recovery, and you kindly accommodated our requests. Your attentive hospitality and the excellent communication among the staff really came through. We have stayed at many Hotels, but this is the first time we have experienced one like this. We were able to leave with warm feelings. We would love to visit again soon.

    Some aspects of the service were unsatisfactory.

    Everything is perfect except for the customer service. However, there were several staff members whose service was poor, and it started even before our stay. There were many times when we asked questions and were simply told they didn’t know. When we inquired about a Plan that charges a Cancellation Fee from the moment the Reservation is made, we were told that reasons such as a family member being hospitalized, a pet becoming ill, or an urgent business trip were “not enough” to qualify for any refund, and we were told, “Why don’t you decide after everything is confirmed?” Because of that, we made our Reservation through IKYU. To be honest, the Room we used four years ago was not very good. There was a lot of unmaintained vegetation, only part of the ocean was visible, and we could see people passing by frequently. We felt it was really more like a partial ocean view rather than a deluxe ocean view. So I was shocked to be told that you had prepared exactly the same Room as last time. Nothing is more unpleasant than being given the same unsatisfactory Room again. At minimum, you should have assigned us at least the neighboring Room from last time. If it had been a good Room it could have become a memorable one—but it wasn’t. The Facility is excellent. The food is high quality—honestly overpriced for what it costs—but still very good overall. There were also many staff members who handled things well, including follow-up afterward; however, it was disappointing to encounter such poor service from some individuals.

    It truly lived up to its name—Halekulani.

    This is the perfect place to unwind and recover from everyday fatigue. Above all, the service was outstanding. While service elsewhere has become more minimal lately, here you’ll enjoy warm, full-service hospitality that leaves you feeling refreshed both physically and mentally. Every meal was delicious, no matter what we tried. It made me want to work hard so I can come back again.

    The pool is smaller than expected.

    Halekulani was a Hotel with very high overall satisfaction, but here are a few points that stood out. ・For the breakfast buffet restaurant, you take a number via QR code, but it still gets very crowded and the wait can be long, so I recommend checking in early. ・The terrace seating in the morning has a great atmosphere, but depending on where you sit, the sun can be intense and it gets very hot. ・The pools other than the Orchid Pool felt smaller than they look in photos, which was a bit disappointing. ・The private pool area was almost empty and felt a little quiet. Don’t expect much from the beach at Halekulani. ・There are plenty of convenience stores and restaurants right in front of the Hotel, so finding food isn’t an issue. ・The Beachfront Wing and Sunset Wing are quite far apart and have different vibes. For families with children, I recommend the Beachfront Wing since it’s closer to the main pool. However, the Sunset Wing lobby is quieter with ocean views and has an excellent atmosphere.

    Disappointed with the private beach.

    We booked two connecting Rooms with our daughter’s family and stayed for two nights. The service, the interior design, and the breakfast buffet were all excellent. At the pool, they quickly set up seats and water for us. Since it was hot, the water would normally warm up right away, but they handed it to us in a cooler box, so it stayed cold even after some time—impressive! We were also traveling with a 7-month-old baby, and at breakfast they kindly provided homemade baby food as a complimentary service. The only downsides were that the pool was smaller than expected, and the private beach felt quiet and somewhat deserted due to how few people were there. Since we came to Okinawa hoping to swim in the ocean, we swam at “Kibogaoka Beach,” just a short walk from Halekulani—the sea there was much more beautiful.

    The spa at Halekulani was truly impressive.

    Although I have experienced spa treatments at luxury Hotels in Japan and abroad, this was the finest treatment I have ever had. I was deeply impressed not only by the physical benefits, but also by the care that helped me Clear my mind and spirit. I plan to visit Halekulani again for the spa.
