  Wonderful! Definitely coming back.

  Since I go to Kyoto every month, I decided to spend the New Year elsewhere and stayed multiple nights in Nara. However, the hotel was vastly different from the photos on IKYU. My husband and I were disappointed. We debated whether to endure two nights, cancel one night and return home, or... After much deliberation, we decided to cancel one night and go to Kyoto! "I don't want to stay like this! Let's improve our luck," I hurriedly checked IKYU and chose the Shijo Takakura Hotel. The result was a great success!!! As soon as we entered, we were captivated by the Venetian mosaic in the lobby. As IKYU Diamond members, we were upgraded to a wonderful room. We had shared our Nara experience, and the staff's desire to create good memories for us was truly heartwarming. The tranquility and warmth of the 16-room hotel, along with the attentive care, allowed us to fully enjoy the charm of a boutique hotel. We had a great start to 2025. Thank you very much.

  The service was excellent.

  I traveled with my elderly mother, who uses a wheelchair. There was a small step along the road at first, but the staff came immediately and provided heartfelt hospitality, making it a delightful two days for my mother. All the staff were kind and pleasant. We were truly taken care of, including an upgrade to the room. Thank you very much. Since Nishiki Market and Daimaru are nearby, we would love to stay again. The room was clean, and I highly recommend it!

  Convenient location with easy access, comfortable rooms

  I usually don't write this type of review, but it was so comfortable that I decided to post. Just 2 blocks from Shijo-Karasuma and about a 10-minute walk to Shijo-Kawaramachi, the location is extremely convenient with Daimaru Department Store just a block away. I also discovered during this stay that Ayano Koji Street nearby is lined with stylish small eateries, making it a perfect location for night dining. The guest room was new and spacious, allowing for a very comfortable stay. The front desk and bar staff were also very pleasant and accommodating. This property is packed with the best aspects of a small-scale facility and is highly recommended.
