    Typhoon

    I booked through IKYU’s 50% off sale some time ago. As is often the case, the original price seemed to have been doubled and then discounted, so it ended up being a completely normal rate. The Hotel’s Facility felt outdated: bricks along the edge of the pool were crumbling, and parts of the stairs were damaged. The pool also didn’t seem properly cleaned—the bottom was sticky and felt slippery. Breakfast came with a 30-minute wait, so it was hard to eat in a timely manner. The taste was not great, and the restaurant facilities were also underwhelming. The one saving grace was that the staff were extremely kind and helpful. Due to a typhoon evacuation advisory, we couldn’t stay on the last day and stayed at another Hotel instead. They handled it politely with no Cancellation Fee. Right after we left, the nearby road was closed—very close call. From next time, I’d like to stay on Okinawa’s main island instead.

    It was the best vacation.

    We had planned to stay before the Obon holidays, but a typhoon was approaching, so we exchanged emails with the staff several times. The staff were very polite and helpful, and thanks to them we were able to change our dates smoothly. It was a 3-night, 4-day stay, and we were very satisfied with the welcome drink upon arrival and the thorough explanation from the staff. The Room was clean, and the amenities—including complimentary bath salts and bath bombs—were wonderful. We had seen in a Review that breakfast involved waiting, but since we entered the breakfast venue right when it opened at 7:00, it wasn’t an issue at all. Both the Japanese and Western options were delicious, with fresh local vegetables included. We definitely want to return! Because it’s in a nature-rich area, I wouldn’t recommend it for those who dislike insects. In our case, my husband grew up in the countryside and was delighted whenever he spotted big frogs, spiders, or grasshoppers on the Facility grounds.

    It was a lovely, relaxing Hotel.

    We stayed for two nights starting August 12 during the Obon holiday (with dinner included), and it was a wonderful Hotel with a calm atmosphere. The Room and pool were clean, and housekeeping was thorough. They also offer 24-hour room service, and we were able to request ice and other items. Other Reviews mentioned that breakfast is delicious, but not only breakfast—dinner was outstanding as well (the fried dishes in particular were incredibly good). If anything, I personally found dinner even better than breakfast. The staff’s attentiveness and cheerful demeanor were excellent in every respect. We traveled with children, and we truly appreciated the thoughtful care shown to them as well. Thank you very much.

    Second stay

    Our family of four stayed in a Room with a pool. We stayed in the same Room a year ago, but this time we noticed dirt on the mirrors and luggage stand, and it felt somewhat worn. Last time this wasn’t an issue, but the pool water was as warm as bathwater, and in August it was too hot to use. The private beach had a lot of seaweed and hardly any fish. If you want to swim in the ocean, I recommend going to Aragusuku Beach about 10 minutes away by car. Breakfast was consistently delicious. We also enjoyed Marshmallow Night and the DIY bath salt corner.

    A quiet and lovely villa, but we hope for improvements in pool maintenance.

    The environment was quiet, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very kind. On the first day, due to a power outage, my Reservation was changed from the Deluxe Room to a Comfort Room. At first, the Hotel did not provide any information about compensation or a rate adjustment, but after I asked, they gave me a small gift. They also explained that there was no price difference between the two Rooms; however, in reality there was a significant difference in room size. After I discussed this later, I was able to move back to the reserved Deluxe Room from the second night onward. The Room was spacious with a lovely design, and it was very comfortable. The most disappointing part was the private pool. I had been really looking forward to swimming in it, but there were a lot of algae and moss in the pool, and it did not feel clean or comfortable to use. I have stayed at many Accommodations with private pools before, and this was my first time experiencing conditions like this—very disappointing. There was also quite a bit of trash on the beach in front of the Accommodation, but since it was right after a typhoon, that is understandable. The villa itself is wonderful overall. If their handling of room changes and their cleaning/maintenance of private pools improve in the future, it would be an even better stay.

    An exclusive, private atmosphere

    Quiet and very nice. It was great to come back from the nearby beach and relax in the private pool. The meals were thoughtfully prepared and delicious.

    After the typhoon has passed, it feels like midsummer.

    We were worried because a typhoon approached on the 25th and the airport was closed for a day, but we were able to stay for one night on June 29. We were very satisfied to swim in the private pool while enjoying cold beer from the refrigerator.

    The Best Stay

    Our family’s first trip to Miyakojima, and the time we spent at Riscape became our best memory. A quiet location right in front of the sea, a wonderful Room, indoor and outdoor pools, and a Facility full of privacy. Everything was comfortable, with a refined atmosphere filled with warm hospitality. Getting around was easy with a card. Breakfast was delicious and very filling. Thank you to the staff member who kindly helped our child, who was too sleepy in the morning and couldn’t make it to breakfast. We definitely want to stay here again as a family. It was such a fun trip that we bought matching “Miyako Blue” mugs as souvenirs. Even now, whenever we drink coffee at home, we think of Riscape. We will treasure them. Thank you to all the staff.

    The Best Time for Yourself

    This was my first stay, and in a word: outstanding! The calm, sophisticated interior and the staff’s wonderfully polished service were exceptional. Each Room is in its own separate building, yet even though everything should have been fully booked, we hardly ran into anyone. Even with a private pool in the Room, it was never noisy. Breakfast isn’t buffet-style, so there’s no constant movement around you—you can relax and enjoy it slowly while looking out at the sea. At night, listening to tropical birds and insects along with the sound of the waves, and with no buildings at all around the Hotel, it becomes completely dark; when you look up at the sky, you’re captivated by a breathtaking canopy of stars. An amazing Hotel.

    It was supposed to be a heated pool, but…

    I travel to Okinawa every year during Golden Week, and knowing the weather can be unpredictable, I always choose a Hotel with a heated pool so I can still enjoy my stay even on rainy days. This year, I made a Reservation at this Hotel because it is close to the beach and has Rooms with private pools. However, it rained throughout our stay, and the morning forecast showed a high of around 23°C. The private pool in our Room—something we were really looking forward to—was not even at room temperature; it was cold water and not usable. When I asked a staff member, I was told, “At this time of year, it’s unheated.” However, the Room information stated: “Private pool water temperature: 25–30°C” and “Outdoor pool (April–October: unheated).” Based on this, I understood that the private pool would be heated. When I asked another staff member, they said, “It depends on the Room type. Villa types are warm.” But this difference was not mentioned in the Room description at the time of Reservation, so being told only afterward was unacceptable. Because we chose this Hotel specifically for the private pool, there was a significant gap between what we expected and what was actually provided. It ended up being a very disappointing stay.

    A true adults-only hideaway.

    On the way to the Hotel, I couldn’t help but wonder, “Is this really the right road?”—but once we arrived, it truly felt like a hidden retreat for adults! The Room was wonderful and relaxing, and the staff were attentive and courteous. We were completely satisfied! The path leading to the beach was also beautiful, and on our last day we sat on the sand, savoring the afterglow of this amazing trip. We would definitely love to stay again!

    I’ve fallen in love with Miyakojima all over again.

    This was my third visit to Miyakojima. I booked this Hotel because the photos on the site had caught my eye for a while, and I ended up being completely satisfied. First of all, the view after crossing the hill just before arrival was breathtaking! The Miyako blue at the end of the downhill road instantly lifted our spirits. We drove through the long, wide property and arrived at reception. After check-in, we headed to our Room. Since it’s a villa, it felt less like going to a Hotel Room and more like going home. This time we stayed in the smallest Comfort Cottage, and it was the perfect size for two. We used the restaurant only on the first night, but we both agreed it was the best restaurant we’ve ever been to. Breakfast seemed to alternate daily between Japanese and Western options, and it was just as delicious as dinner. It was still too cold to really enjoy the private pool in our Room, so we only splashed around a bit—but once it gets warmer, I’m sure it will make staying in even more enjoyable. We had three days that made us want to come back again someday. Thank you very much to all of your staff.

    Excellent.

    We stayed for four days this time. It was a wonderful escape from everyday life and truly refreshing. All of the staff were very kind and helpful, and we were able to spend our time feeling relaxed and pampered. The food was excellent—breakfast was outstanding, and we ordered delivery for dinner; everything was truly delicious. In particular, I will never forget the prawn seafood curry (in the best way). Wonderful. We were also very satisfied to be able to swim in the ocean right in front of us and in the private heated pool attached to our Room. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    Favorite Spot

    Another stay here—it's the kind of place that makes you want to come back right away. Thank you for preparing my favorite Room again this time! Swaying gently in the private pool in the Room and then straight into the bath. The bath, with plenty of greenery in view, feels wonderfully open when you fully open both doors at the front and back, and the herb- and aroma-scented bath salts are so soothing. After the bath, I can relax on a deck chair on the terrace with a drink—pure bliss. Everything you could wish for is provided. At night, we enjoyed our usual marshmallows, and the fresh sugarcane was delicious too (perfect as an after-dinner dessert). As always, the staff are sincere and provide guest-focused service—I’m truly impressed. This time there seemed to be more international guests than before, and my only worry is that it might become harder to make a Reservation in the future… haha. I’m already looking forward to my next stay!

    The Best Four Days

    My shipped luggage was switched to sea freight, and the items I needed didn’t arrive during my stay. However, thanks to the attentive service and great location (near Don Quijote), I had an amazing four-day stay with no issues at all. I learned that you truly see a Hotel’s real value when something goes wrong. If you’re looking for a Hotel in Miyakojima, I highly recommend staying here. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    An Accommodation with the pleasant scent of nature and tranquility

    The mornings were wonderfully refreshing, and at night the romantic lighting created a calm, intimate atmosphere—this was a quiet and lovely Accommodation. Every time we returned to our Room, it smelled amazing, and we felt close to nature, almost like glamping. Breakfast was excellent every day, and we were very satisfied with the selection of drinks. We made a Reservation for the barbecue dinner for one night, and it was delicious. While we’d also like to try other Accommodations someday, this is the Accommodation we’d love to return to whenever we visit Miyakojima.

    The Best Stay

    A soothing aroma fills the Room. Step outside to a vast ocean and a jewel-like starry sky. It was a blissful time that made me forget everyday life, and I truly felt I didn’t want to leave. The wonderful breakfast and the Room’s ambiance—everything is deeply etched in my heart. Thank you for an amazing stay.

    Although it was a nature-rich Hotel typical of Miyakojima...

    As it was our first time in Miyakojima and we were feeling a bit anxious, thank you for your courteous service and for showing us to a spacious Room. Also, the heated pool, Marshmallow Night, custom bath salts, and getting around by cart were all great fun for our elementary school-aged child. However, it was disappointing that we had to wait over 30 minutes for breakfast, and that the staff handled the situation inappropriately by letting a foreign guest who was insisting on being seated first cut in line.

    The Hotel staff were excellent.

    I stayed at this Hotel on a special occasion after having been interested in it for some time. I was a little disappointed that the view from the balcony wasn’t well maintained, but the cleaning was thorough and both the Hotel and my Room were very beautiful. The bath was incredibly relaxing, and soaking with bath salts I made myself gave me a blissful moment to appreciate how hard I’ve worked. Breakfast was also excellent—the tuna and avocado tartare, soup, and other carefully prepared dishes were delicious. Above all, what made this stay truly exceptional was the warm hospitality of the staff. I will cherish what I received as a lifelong memory. Thank you very much. I will definitely stay again.

    The best Accommodation in every way!

    Right after we arrived, we were served three stylish welcome drinks, which instantly lifted our spirits! The staff’s explanations were very thorough, and we felt comfortable from the very beginning. Later, we also got to try making bath salts, which became one of the highlights of our stay. The Room was truly flawless—beautifully designed with great amenities, and the bed was so fluffy that it was one of the most comfortable stays we’ve ever had! In the evening, we enjoyed a marshmallow experience that really added a special, out-of-the-ordinary feel. Breakfast was generous in portion size, everything was delicious, and we were completely satisfied. Some Rooms may be a bit far away, but they provide Shuttle Service in a tuk-tuk-like vehicle, so getting around was fun and actually became one of our favorite memories. The location is a little inconvenient, but that’s part of what makes it feel like such an escape. However, the road leading there is narrow, so it may be challenging for those who aren’t confident drivers. Even so, this Accommodation was absolutely amazing—we would definitely love to stay again when visiting Miyakojima. Highly recommended!

    We had a wonderful time.

    I’ve never written a Review before, but it had been a while since I stayed at a Hotel that made me think, “This was wonderful,” so I decided to post one. Wanting to spend some relaxing time, I found this place online and stayed for 2 nights and 3 days as a family of three, including a small child. From start to finish, the staff’s attentive (yet never intrusive) service was outstanding, and we kept saying as a family, “We’re so glad we chose this place.” On the first night we had the “Kagisuma Course” at the restaurant. The dishes made generous use of Miyako ingredients and were truly delicious, bringing out the best in each one! The homemade whole-wheat bread served during the course was wonderfully chewy and tasty—and thanks to the staff’s kind encouragement, I ended up having seconds again and again! For breakfast, we had Western-style on the first morning and Japanese-style on the second; both were excellent. They also prepared a separate menu for our small child, which we really appreciated. We went into town for dinner on the second night, but I liked the food here so much that I honestly wished we had chosen in-room dining at the Hotel again. The road leading to the Hotel is narrow in places, but once you get through it, you’ll find a calm hideaway-like atmosphere that felt very relaxing. When we visit Miyakojima again, we’d love to stay here again—and I would definitely recommend The Rescape to friends visiting Miyakojima.

    We stayed here to spend a quiet trip for our 20th wedding anniversary. The Room had an overseas-style layout, and we were a bit confused because we weren’t used to the bath area, but we slept well in the bed, and overall it was very stylish with a calm atmosphere that we really loved. The meals were delicious and served in just the right amount without being too much, and everyone at the Facility provided very courteous service. However, the amenities were overseas products that didn’t suit our skin, so we would have appreciated Japanese-made ones if possible.

    I trusted only the reviews and quickly made a reservation.

    It was a sudden trip, and I made the reservation based solely on the excellent reviews without fully understanding or agreeing with the details listed. This stay taught me the importance of carefully reviewing and understanding all information before completing the reservation. As many reviews mentioned, it takes 20–30 minutes to reach areas with restaurants or shops. There are no vending machines either, so having a free minibar in the room was one of the few positives. Some reviews mentioned flexibility in meal arrangements depending on guests, but since our dinner was reserved as in-room dining, I repeatedly asked if it could be changed to a restaurant setting. The foreign staff member tried their best to confirm multiple times but unfortunately couldn’t accommodate my request—thank you for your efforts nonetheless. For us older travelers, meals and baths are key parts of enjoying a trip. Since I didn’t fully understand that our reservation included in-room dining only, we ended up traveling far for meals after getting advice from kind locals along the way. Thanks to their kindness, we enjoyed local food outside before returning to find our ordered meal waiting for us—but as expected, it wasn’t satisfying: lukewarm sukiyaki beef and cold soba noodles that couldn’t be warmed even with hot broth poured over them. The bath may look stylish; however, even though this is Miyako during winter (not summer), both the stone tub felt cold and the water itself was lukewarm—making it uncomfortably chilly overall. Afterward, I revisited other reviews mentioning similar complaints about water temperature being too low; why hasn’t this been addressed? Hot water can always be cooled down if needed—but lukewarm water cannot be heated further once provided. Perhaps this hotel is more suited for younger guests...

    Highly satisfied.

    The atmosphere of the room, the overall ambiance, and the concept were exactly to my liking, and I had always wanted to stay at this accommodation. My expectations were very high because I had been looking forward to it for so long, but it still exceeded them. The room, meals, and hospitality were all exceptional. I stayed for two nights and enjoyed Japanese breakfast one day and Western breakfast the next. The portions were satisfying even for men. I would love to stay here again when I visit Miyako Island.

    Everything about the room and more was exactly to my liking, and the staff at the hotel were very polite and excellent. The hotel's food was delicious, and the beach in front felt like a private beach, which was amazing! This is an accommodation I would love to stay at again!

    Solo Travel

    Stayed for a solo trip in late October. The room, meals, and staff service were all satisfactory. The meals are a bit pricey but are visually appealing and delicious. The room service menu is also extensive. There is only one dining facility near the hotel, and it takes about 20 minutes by car to reach an area with convenience stores or shops. If you do not choose a meal-inclusive plan, it is recommended to purchase drinks, food, or snacks beforehand or have your meal before checking in. The bath is stylish and spacious but the water temperature tends to be lukewarm, requiring quite some time to fill with warm water. Initially, the water coming out of the faucet will be cold; wait until warm water starts flowing before filling the tub as it takes a few minutes for warm water to come through. There was an issue with scheduling for pool filter maintenance in our private pool; despite providing our preferred time slot, they came at an incorrect time which was inconvenient as we had plans to go out—this was disappointing. The private beach and pool right in front of the hotel are absolutely stunning! Overall, this hotel offers satisfaction that matches its price point!

    The Best 3 Nights and 4 Days of Your Life

    I have never written a review before, but this experience was so amazing that I felt compelled to share it! We stayed as a party of two for 3 nights and 4 days. It was simply the best! The atmosphere of the room, the facility, amenities, and above all, the hospitality of the staff left us deeply moved throughout our stay. Having stayed at several luxury hotels in various locations before, this was by far the best hospitality we’ve ever experienced. Every moment during our stay was truly pleasant. The café menu in the reception building was kindly accommodated outside regular hours upon our request. When we asked for details about souvenir products, they provided thorough explanations with great care—our gratitude knows no bounds! Additionally, we were provided shuttle service via cart when needed and had tea bags and coffee replenished multiple times outside regular room cleaning schedules—all done with such kindness and attentiveness. Thank you so much for accommodating all our requests so graciously! The food was also incredibly delicious. On our first night, we enjoyed the "Kagisuma" course dinner. From ingredients to presentation, everything reflected meticulous attention to detail and elegance. Breakfasts—both Western-style and Japanese-style—were equally delightful! Having them delivered directly to our room added an extra special touch. While reading other reviews, I noticed some comments about driftwood on nearby beaches or narrow roads leading into the property or even mentions of local wildlife in a negative light. However, I personally found these aspects to be part of what makes this environment so wonderful—it allows you to feel nature up close like nowhere else! If someone prefers well-maintained roads or urbanized environments where nature is heavily managed by human hands—they might as well visit Tokyo instead! (Just kidding!) For us though, being surrounded by untouched natural beauty away from city noise made it an absolutely perfect setting. We look forward to visiting Miyako Island again soon—and will definitely choose your hotel once more!

    Thank you for the wonderful two days. Was the route to get here okay? Driving through such areas made me wonder, but upon arrival, it turned out to be a relaxing place beyond my expectations. The staff were kind and always engaged in conversation during the Shuttle Service, which made it enjoyable. I also felt relaxed participating in the morning yoga session. The bath salts became my favorite as they allowed me to enjoy a soothing bath. Since it was Saturday, I was delighted to unexpectedly catch a live Sanshin performance. However, one disappointment was that the terrace sofa was fabric and had gotten wet from prior rain; sitting on it unknowingly left my clothes wet. Perhaps this could have been addressed better? Overall, my trip to Miyako Island became an incredibly enjoyable experience. Thank you very much! I would love to return if given another opportunity!
