    We really enjoyed the BBQ!

    We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days! On the evening of our arrival, we enjoyed a BBQ at the Glamorous Dining area. Everything was delicious—especially the bone-in pork, which was tender, flavorful, and outstanding. We also grilled the dessert apples and marshmallows perfectly, and they were very tasty. The Weber gas grill was large and easy to use; the meat grilled lightly as excess fat dripped away, while the vegetables turned out sweet and juicy. We truly enjoyed everything that makes a BBQ special. The weather was only good on the day we arrived, and unfortunately it rained for the remaining two days, so our pickleball plans were canceled. Instead, we took a trip to Matsumoto for soba noodles and enjoyed an Onsen, which made for a relaxing stay overall. The Facility is old, but the Room was spacious and easy to use. We’d love to come back again when the weather is better.

    Bus schedule

    The Facility, meals, and staff service were all excellent. However, the only issue was the shuttle bus. We chose the full-course dinner starting at 7:30 PM. We took the bus from the Annex building and arrived at the restaurant on time, but we were kept waiting—perhaps because the previous seating ran over—and the course progressed very slowly. When we tried to take the bus back to the Annex building afterward, shuttle service had already ended. A wagon was arranged for us so we could return, but I felt bad and apologized repeatedly as I got out of the car. I wonder if it was our responsibility to confirm the time of the last bus and inform the restaurant in advance, but I do hope there can be more consideration for guests staying in the Annex building (for example, not accepting a 7:30 PM Reservation from the start). The morning cheese was especially delicious.

    We spent New Year's ...

    We spent New Year's here. We made simple meals and enjoyed them in the room, relaxed in the Onsen, and had fun skiing. It was a refreshing experience. The staff were all very pleasant, making our stay comfortable. Thank you very much!

    Feel luxurious in a spacious Room.

    We enjoyed a luxurious stay in a spacious room surrounded by the forest. We liked it so much during our stay in August that we decided to return. With separate bedrooms and living rooms, it feels like staying in a suite.

    Breakfast at the mai...

    Breakfast at the main building, which is a short distance away, is easily accessible by shuttle bus. The Room is equipped with basic tableware and utensils, allowing you to prepare simple meals yourself. For those who find owning a private villa cumbersome, this option—where you can visit whenever you like and have maintenance taken care of—is invaluable. It was a peaceful retreat from the summer heat. Thank you very much!

    Summer Vacation for Two Families

    We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days with two families, including my father who is over 90 years old, renting two rooms. This was the only place with an elevator, and the easy access to the bath was a deciding factor. Breakfast can be enjoyed at a scenic location accessible by the hotel's shuttle bus, offering stunning mountain views. The menu had a wide variety of local delicacies, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The rooms are spacious and comfortable; however, there are no modern outlets for business-related devices, so it's best to bring your own adapters or equipment. One downside was that there is only one elevator, requiring us to walk down long hallways from our room. For my elderly father, walking these long distances after going out proved quite challenging and tiring. For elderly guests, I recommend requesting a room near the elevator in advance.

    Far from everywhere.

    Everything was far to reach. Transportation to breakfast and BBQ venues required a bus, and it took about 7 minutes on foot from the Room to the large public bath. The BBQ had a great atmosphere and excellent Facilities, and the breakfast buffet was diverse and delicious. However, the building itself felt old and lacked cleanliness. Upon entering the Room, there was a moldy smell, and the air conditioner filter was covered in dust. While I did enjoy relaxing by a quiet lakeside surrounded by birch trees in the highlands... The customer service was absolutely terrible. When I asked for directions at the front desk, I was given completely incorrect information, leaving me lost in an unfamiliar area. Another staff member at reception gave directions with an uninterested attitude, while yet another near the large public bath responded as if annoyed when asked for help finding my way around. What does hospitality even mean here? It seems that places like Tateshina or Karuizawa often have such arrogant service staff with poor attitudes towards guests. The clientele also leaves much to be desired. Please take inspiration from Tokyo's top-class Hotels! It's such a shame because both the scenery, food, and baths were wonderful otherwise!

    Experience a Cool and Refreshing World.

    Even in the heat across the whole country, spending summer in a high-altitude area felt ideal. The spacious grounds allowed for leisurely walks. At night, I enjoyed relaxing in the Room with food purchased from a nearby supermarket. Although it was a 2-night stay, I wished to stay longer and unwind even more. I feel that highland Hotels will become popular during summer from now on.

    I enjoyed a quiet and relaxing stay.

    We stayed in a spacious Japanese-Western style room. The layout was comfortable, allowing us to enjoy a quiet holiday in Tateshina. While the facility is old, it is well-maintained and clean. The large sofa provided relaxation, and the Onsen was spacious and spotless. We look forward to visiting again during an extended summer vacation.

    Onsen is wonderful.

    We decided to visit an Onsen with three generations of our family and chose this accommodation. First, the Onsen had excellent water quality, and the balance of facilities such as the indoor large bath, Onsen jacuzzi, open-air bath, and sauna was outstanding (though the indoor large bath was somewhat compact). The room we stayed in was a non-smoking Japanese-Western wide room. We had requested a location near the elevator due to a companion with mobility issues, and they kindly accommodated this request. However, despite being a non-smoking room, it was located across from a smoking area in the hallway, causing an unpleasant smell in the room. We requested to change rooms as it seemed unreasonable for non-smoking rooms to be placed near smoking areas. Another issue was that since it was a Japanese-Western style room without beds throughout, we assumed futons would already be laid out but were told we needed to do it ourselves. Considering that this accommodation is not particularly inexpensive, this felt more like staying at a budget inn or public lodging facility rather than what one might expect here. Additionally, there were only lace curtains in the Japanese-style area instead of thick curtains; thus it became very bright early in the morning and difficult to sleep comfortably. The twin bed section could be closed off and had better functionality overall—perhaps marketing these rooms solely as twin rooms would make more sense from the start. Although we moved on later to Harvest Tateshina Main Building for our stay there afterward—the Italian dinner served here stood out both for its content & service quality which were excellent! Breakfast was decent; their milk tasted great too! However trying prematurely clearing trays while guests hadn’t finished eating detracts unnecessarily lowering otherwise good restaurant service impressions overall!

    You can be satisfied with the clean Room.

    We stayed in a Western-style room with a mini kitchen for a family of four during our ski trip. Wanting to keep costs reasonable, we brought our own ingredients and cooked in the room. For an additional fee of 1200 yen, we could rent dishes and cooking utensils, and there was also a free rice cooker available. Having dishcloths and chopsticks would have been even better. There was an IH stove and a microwave (with a toaster), so we had no issues with cooking. The Onsen and the outdoor bath were also very nice. The room had brick accents on the walls, making it stylish and comfortable to use. We would like to use it again in the future.

    It would be even better if the sauna was available in the morning as well...

    I have been using it repeatedly. This time, the room had an island kitchen-like setup with a separate bedroom and living room, making it so comfortable that I wanted to stay longer. The Onsen was also comfortable, and I always return satisfied and refreshed. If possible, it would be even better if the sauna could be used during the morning bath, but that's just a little disappointing.

    The autumn foliage was very beautiful.

    We stayed during the beautiful autumn foliage season. The breakfast was very delicious, and we were impressed by the wonderful scenery we saw on the way to the venue by bus. The meals were also very tasty. We were very grateful to be able to take a bath after trekking. We would love to visit again.

    Unfortunately, the w...

    Unfortunately, the weather was bad, and we couldn't see the view at all. The facility feels old, but the room was spacious and sufficient. It was inconvenient to move to another facility by bus for breakfast. I would like to visit again on a nice day to fully enjoy nature.

    Wonderful hotel

    After returning home, I realized I had lost my AirPods and called the hotel, only to find out they had already been delivered to the front desk. When I requested them to be sent to me, they kindly obliged. I received them the next day and was impressed by their prompt and courteous service. The room was clean, the food was delicious, and with a checkout time of 11 a.m., I had plenty of time to enjoy a luxurious stroll around the pond.
