    The breakfast was excellent!

    I stayed in the Deluxe Twin Plus Room. The Room was spacious and clean, and having the bath and toilet separate made it very comfortable. If I had to be picky, it would have been even better with a smart TV or a water dispenser. The staff were polite and pleasant, the location was excellent (it’s also nice to have a wholesale supermarket nearby), and above all, the breakfast was outstanding. There was an impressive selection of dishes such as steak, sukiyaki, and smoked salmon, and the homemade desserts were delicious as well. The pudding in particular was so good that I couldn’t help saying out loud, “Wow, this is delicious.” It was a wonderful stay. Thank you very much.

    Highly Rated Breakfast

    This Hotel is located in front of “Suya,” the former residence of Ryoma Sakamoto. My spouse and I were on a Multiple Night Stay at the Okura, but we really wanted to try this highly rated breakfast, so we stayed here for our final night. I’ve also included some impressions compared with the Okura. We stayed in a Deluxe Corner Twin Room. The size was almost the same as at the Okura, but it was nice that the bath and toilet were separate, and the TV was larger. There is a lounge on the first floor, where you can pick up amenities, coffee, and other items to take back to your Room. The body towel was hard to wash; I found the body towels at the Okura easier to use, so I’d love it if you could adopt something similar. As for service: older guests may prefer the more formal politeness and attentiveness of places like the Okura, but since this Hotel has many international guests in T-shirts and shorts, I think a straightforward style of service works well. Regarding breakfast—which had an excellent reputation—everything was wonderful and delicious. It seemed that more than half of the diners were international guests, and some even came from outside just for breakfast. My wife was impressed by how delicious the rice, okara (unohana), and soy milk were. A guest at a nearby table said they loved the sukiyaki with yuba as well. Unfortunately I was already full and couldn’t try those items myself—next time I stay here, I definitely will. The soft-serve ice cream is rich and highly recommended too. If I had one request: when selecting iced coffee from the machine it fills an entire cup at once. If guests could pour only what they need freely, it would be easier to mix with milk for café au lait—something worth considering if you aim to make an already outstanding breakfast even better. Personally, I wish there were a large public bath; however, given how many international guests stay here, that might not fit your direction—and perhaps it can’t be helped. I would definitely like to stay again.

    Sleeping comfort

    My elderly mother said, “The moment I lay down, it felt so comfortable.” She also mentioned that she was able to sleep straight through until morning, which is rare for her. Breakfast was delicious, especially the white miso soup and the Japanese rolled omelet. We used the riverside dining Plan. My mother was thrilled to meet a maiko, and it made for a truly meaningful trip together.

    Satisfied.

    When staying in Kyoto, I always choose Cross Hotel. The price is reasonable, and the Room is clean and compact, yet fully equipped with everything you need. Pajamas and slippers are provided. It’s located near Sanjo Kawaramachi in a lively area, so you’ll have plenty of dining options. It’s also convenient for getting anywhere. The staff are kind and pleasant, so I highly recommend it.

    The Room was spacious, but

    I would have liked a drawer or shelves to store clothes. It was inconvenient that there were no hooks to hang used bath towels. The pillow was a type I had never used before and felt unusual, but I slept well. I also enjoyed the breakfast. In particular, the flavor of the Kujo green onion dashimaki omelet was excellent. Overall, it was a very good Hotel. I would like to stay again.

    Hospitable staff

    Japanese Hotel service is truly excellent. Thanks to the attentive care of the front desk staff, I had a very comfortable stay. I look forward to staying again next time.

    I accidentally checked out and left my shoes in the Room. After I got home, I contacted the front desk, and they promptly mailed them to me. Whenever I return to Kyoto, I always stay with you. All of the staff have consistently provided pleasant service since you first opened. Thank you very much, and I look forward to staying with you again.

    Surprised.

    When I returned from going out, the cups hadn’t been washed, the empty cans I had gathered were still there, there was still water left in the wash basin in the bathroom, the Dyson humidifier was empty, and even the complimentary water bottles were missing. Honestly, I was surprised. The bed-making was also inconsistent: it’s a twin room—one bed had crisp, neatly stretched sheets, but the other still had wrinkles. I book various Hotels through IKYU, and this kind of Hotel really surprised me. I thought there would be no need to worry because it was IKYU… ( ; ; ) About 90% of the guests were foreigners, but that gave it an interesting international atmosphere.

    The breakfast is especially amazing!

    With Sanjo Station nearby, the location offers excellent access to sightseeing spots, and strolling along the Takase River and the Kamo River just steps away is very pleasant. The breakfast selection was extensive with both Japanese and Western options, and everything was delicious. This is a Hotel I would definitely like to stay at again.

    First time staying here. It was during the Gion Festival, but it was very convenient and comfortable.

    On the night of Yoiyama during the Gion Festival, we weren’t sure where to stay and chose this Accommodation. We chose it because it could accommodate our family of four in one Room, it was conveniently located for watching the Yamaboko Junko parade, and the Reviews looked good. Both the Room and the lobby were clean, and the bathroom was separated, making it easy to use. The staff were also pleasant. They kindly stored our luggage after check-out as well. The free drinks in the lobby are only hot options—coffee, black tea, and green tea—so if possible, having at least one kind of cold juice would be helpful for children and for people who can’t have caffeine. There is only one toilet each on the first-floor lobby level, so it’s something to keep in mind. Also, there is no drop-off area, so if you’re coming by car you may want to be careful about where to park.

    Exceptionally cozy!

    This was the most comfortable suite Room I have stayed in so far. I haven’t necessarily stayed at many luxury Hotels, but the simple, highly functional design here was outstanding. The closet was spacious enough to change inside, there was a mini-kitchen in the living area, and I especially appreciated the washroom—there were plenty of shelves and drawers for small items, plus a vanity space with a mirror where I could sit and do my makeup, which was very convenient. From the large windows in the Room, we enjoyed views of Higashiyama and Kiyamachi Street, so it never felt boring even while staying in. One minor disappointment: the face towel was a bit small and thin, and only one was provided, which felt lacking for a suite Room. If I visit Kyoto again, I would like to stay here again.

    We stayed here for our son’s graduation ceremony. At check-in, I mentioned that we had also stayed here during his entrance exams, and a message card was left in our Room—he was truly delighted. Thank you very much! The location is excellent, and we also love the spacious lounge. We would like to stay again when we visit Kyoto.

    We stayed with a group of five.

    The location is convenient, with Gion and the Kamo River nearby. When we went out for dinner, the cherry blossoms along the Kamo River were just starting to bloom, and we enjoyed a pleasant walk. Check-in and check-out are done by machine, but staff will assist you. Personally, I prefer being checked in at the counter by staff. I was told there were no amenities in the Room, so I brought toothbrushes for five people, but they were already provided in the Room. Does that mean some Rooms have them and others do not? I would have appreciated being told clearly, “Amenities are provided in your Room, so there is no need to bring your own.” We did not stay in connecting Rooms; instead, we had two beds plus three futons laid out in the Japanese-style room. The Room was very clean. However, with five people sharing one bathroom and one toilet, it was difficult late at night when everyone wanted to bathe. There is only one men’s private stall and one women’s private stall in the lobby restroom area. When I used it before heading out or during check-in time, other guests tried to open the door even though I was inside—there was a frightening “rattle” as they pulled on it because it was locked. Renovating facilities may be difficult, but having a lobby restroom space that multiple people can use at once would feel much more reassuring. There were many international guests; I would estimate Japanese guests made up about 30%. At breakfast, an unfamiliar international guest sat down at an empty seat at our table and started eating there, so my family explained that they should use another table. That should be handled by staff. Since it is a buffet-style breakfast service, clearing empty plates is helpful; however, I would like staff to ask first (“May I clear this?”). Plates that still had food on them—and even chopsticks we were still using—were taken away, so we had to go get replacements. I understand breakfast gets crowded and hectic, but this is where true hospitality should be shown. The breakfast selection and portions were excellent overall—I was very satisfied with both variety and quantity. Only the steak was tough and difficult to eat. I also liked that the plates were deep and large enough to take plenty of food at once. Thank you very much for taking care of us. I will be staying again for work in April as well.

    Back to Kyoto after a long time, on the way home from the snowy mountains!!

    After skiing at Biwako Valley, we stopped by Kyoto. The roads were less crowded than on previous trips, so driving was easy. It was our first time staying at this Accommodation, but with a large car we couldn’t find any available parking nearby and ended up parking about a 10-minute walk away. The parking fee was 4,600 yen when leaving the car until the next morning. It seemed to be about the same everywhere. There were three of us, and the Room was spacious with two sinks in the wash area, which was very convenient. The bathtub was large enough to stretch out in, so we filled it up and soaked. They provided three types of bath salts, and we enjoyed the different scents. A humidifier and a Bluetooth speaker were also provided, which we use regularly, so that was helpful. Breakfast had plenty of Japanese and Western options, plus lots of fruit and sweets—we really enjoyed it. Everything was delicious; the tea soba noodles and matcha Danish felt very Kyoto-like, and our family enjoyed them together. About 90% of the guests around us were international visitors. When we chatted with them, some were from Canada or Australia visiting Japan for sightseeing. We also love traveling abroad, so it made us very happy to see so many people choosing Japan to visit. All of the breakfast restaurant staff greeted us with smiles and made us feel welcome! It’s close to the station as well, and it became an Accommodation we’d like to stay at again. If I could wish for anything extra: on-site parking and a large public bath would be great.

    Excellent location!

    We stayed at this Hotel for two nights on a family trip to celebrate our son’s graduation. First of all, the location is excellent! It’s just a short walk to Kawaramachi, and Karasuma is also within walking distance in about 20 minutes. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and there’s a taxi stand just a short walk away. On the morning of the third day, we had breakfast on the first floor. The drink selection was great, and the onion dressing on the salad was delicious. The cha soba was also a nice touch in the morning. The Room was simple and very functional, and both the bed and pillows were comfortable. This has become one of the Hotels we’d like to visit again.

    I think this Hotel offers excellent value for the price. The staff service is outstanding, and the breakfast is delicious. For some reason, I always find it strange that there are no Japanese guests at all. It’s a comfortable Hotel that I really love. Thank you.

    A clean and affordable Hotel

    This was my first stay, and I liked it because the location is good and it is convenient for dinner in the evening. It is a very efficiently designed Hotel, and although I was a bit confused at first, the Facility was easy to use and I especially liked the spacious bathroom. I was a little concerned that breakfast was crowded, but it was delicious so I was satisfied.

    Excellent value for money.

    I stayed for two nights in February (with breakfast included). Check-in and check-out were automated, and you could choose and pick up the amenities you wanted yourself, but it wasn’t inconvenient at all. The Room was clean, and I especially loved the spacious bathroom with a separate washing area—it was very relaxing. Breakfast offered a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes in a buffet style, and I was very satisfied. For this price, the quality is excellent value for money. If I had to mention one thing, the selection of amenities felt a bit limited, so I’d be even happier if there were more options. It’s a Hotel I’d definitely like to stay at again when visiting Kyoto.

    Highly recommended.

    This is a Hotel with extremely high satisfaction. The location is great, and the Facility is also excellent. In a way (unlike luxury Hotels in Tokyo or Osaka), it is compact and very convenient to use. Our whole family was able to stay comfortably. The service was more than sufficient and very pleasant. We met security staff on patrol many times on our floor, which made us feel safe.

    We stayed here for our Kyoto sightseeing trip as a couple for the first time in a while. Having the toilet and bathroom separated was very nice. Located in the heart of the downtown area, it is extremely convenient with many restaurants nearby. This is a Hotel we would definitely stay at again.

    Accommodation for a family of four

    Our family of four stayed in one Room, and it was spacious enough and very comfortable. The bathroom was separate, which was great because we could relax and unwind even in cold weather. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The location was excellent as well, and we would like to stay again.

    The Room was clean, and the twin room was spacious enough. What I especially liked was the breakfast: the mentaiko rolled omelet, the hearty miso soup, and everything else was handmade and truly delicious.
