    We truly enjoyed bot...

    We truly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, savoring delicious dishes made with local ingredients. The in-room bath was a luxurious free-flowing Onsen, available anytime for a relaxing soak. The Room was spacious and comfortable, and our whole family was very satisfied with choosing this Accommodation.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    Because we traveled during the rainy season, we chose an Onsen. It was our first trip to Yufuin on a long-awaited visit to Kyushu. Tamanoyu felt like a hidden retreat, surrounded by nature and very relaxing. The staff were polite and kind. We had some trouble when the return bus was canceled due to rain, but they helped us by arranging a taxi, which was greatly appreciated. The individual hot pot at dinner was too large for me to finish. Since I have lower back pain, I would have been happy to have a comfortable sofa to relax on, but the Room was spacious, had an indoor bath, and was clean and comfortable.

    We enjoyed a refined, Yufuin-style stay.

    This was an Accommodation I had been looking forward to for a long time, and it fully met my expectations—I was able to enjoy the calm, refined atmosphere that feels so uniquely Yufuin. The Room had a soothing ambiance that made it easy to relax, and the garden view was truly healing. The overall feel of the property and its harmony with nature reminded me why this is Tamano-yu. The meals were also delicious, and I could take my time enjoying dishes that made great use of local ingredients. Most of the staff provided courteous, pleasant service, making for a very comfortable stay. However, one thing disappointed me slightly: the staff member in charge during dinner. Their language felt a bit too casual, which differed from the level of hospitality I had expected at Tamano-yu. Also, when I mentioned that the call buzzer was broken, it wasn’t checked right away; only after I spoke up several times directly was it finally replaced. Because everyone else’s service was excellent, that point stood out as particularly unfortunate. That said, the overall atmosphere of the Accommodation, the food, and how comfortable the Room was were all wonderful, and I would like to stay here again when visiting Yufuin. Thank you very much.

    A wonderful Accommodation that will move you with its charming garden and bring you peace of mind.

    We stayed here on a trip to celebrate my retirement with my wife. As soon as we arrived, she was thrilled by this wonderful Accommodation and its garden. In *Tsurezuregusa*, there is a line that says, “If you interfere with nature too much, it loses its charm.” We were deeply moved by the garden’s atmosphere, which captures that sensibility perfectly, and felt truly healed. The building shows a bit of age, but it is well maintained, and the service was filled with quiet kindness. It’s conveniently close to Yunotsubo Kaido Street, yet still a serene and restful space where we could relax in peace.

    This is a wonderful accommodation.

    Both the building and the interior have a wonderful charm, and the attentive service makes this Accommodation truly exceptional. The dishes made with local ingredients were beautifully presented and delicious. The watercress was fresh with just a hint of bitterness, completely changing my impression of it. If I have the chance, I would definitely like to visit again.

    We were very satisfied with our three-generation trip.

    We stayed for a three-generation trip with our grandchildren. The Room was so spacious—with a living area and a Japanese-style room—that we could truly relax, and the bath with its wonderfully soothing hot-spring water surprised our whole family. Meals were served in a private dining room, which was reassuring even with babies and toddlers who might get noisy. The tenderness of the wagyu beef and the freshness of the vegetables left a lasting impression. But what moved us most was the outstanding hospitality from the attendant during meals! They even remembered that it had been 10 years since our last visit, and they called our young grandchildren by name many times—our grandchildren became completely attached to them. The building is starting to show its age, but it was an extremely satisfying stay. We would love to stay again.

    Hardly one of the “Big Three”...

    This was my first trip to Yufuin, and since I don’t often get the chance to visit, I decided to stay at the Ryokan said to be one of the “top three.” - Service: Not particularly warm. They didn’t even seem to remember our names. The staff member in charge during meals was good, though. - Room: A traditional Ryokan-style Room, for better or worse. Since it had tatami flooring, it was nice to be able to lie down and relax. Amenities were average. Overall, however, the garden was beautiful, and the path from the gate to the entrance had a wonderful atmosphere. - Meals: The biggest disappointment was the food. Dinner offering a “choice of main dish” gave me a bad feeling from the start. It sounds nice, but it made me suspect they let guests choose because they lack confidence in their cooking. It also felt questionable that most main options were hot pot dishes. There were few items and small portions overall, and I ended up relying on rice porridge at the end of the hot pot just to feel full. Meals at a high-end Ryokan are usually vibrant and satisfying both emotionally and physically, but here they were simply too sparse. The only truly delicious item was the grilled dried horse mackerel at breakfast. - Bath: An indoor bath with no particular standout features. There was also an outdoor bath (not a large public bath), but it wasn’t worth going out of my way for; it felt like too much hassle, so I just used the bath in my Room. - Other: Close to Takemoto Street, which is convenient for sightseeing. It was also nice that they allowed us to park our car until evening even after checkout. Considering the Accommodation Fee, I can only say this Ryokan was disappointing. Calling it one of the “top three” seems unrealistic now.

    During my stay at Tamanoyu, I accidentally left my wallet behind. I hadn’t noticed, but the staff called me and I realized what had happened. They shipped it right away, and it arrived the next day. I truly appreciate your prompt and courteous support. Thank you very much. It was my first stay in over ten years, and the meals were excellent—especially breakfast, which left a lasting impression. It felt like a warm Accommodation where you can really sense the daily dedication of the staff. I would love to stay again if I have the opportunity.

    I was delighted to finally fulfill my wish of spending a relaxing New Year's Eve. As always, I deeply appreciate the impeccable service—attentive yet unobtrusive—and the staff's calm demeanor despite the full occupancy. The beautifully arranged flowers throughout the accommodation, starting from the entrance, brought me moments of peace and joy. During dinner, when I couldn't finish my rice, a staff member kindly offered to make it into rice balls and bring them to my room as a late-night snack. It was such a thoughtful gesture—thank you very much! I look forward to visiting again.

    Relaxing Time

    We stayed here as a group of three women. Our room was upgraded, allowing us to relax in a spacious area. The meals were absolutely delicious, and the private bath in the room was exceptional. The staff provided very attentive service, and the fireplace in the lounge created an even more relaxing atmosphere, which left a lasting impression.     A Journey for Adults

    We visited as two adult women. The individual rooms felt like our own private space, allowing us to relax completely and feel very satisfied. The courtyard and the living room with a fireplace outside the room were also incredibly comfortable. The indoor bath was a natural hot spring, and the outdoor bath had just the right size. This is an accommodation we definitely want to visit again!

    Comfortable Hospitality

    My mother and I took the Yufuin no Mori train from Hakata Station to Yufuin. When we had trouble finding a taxi, we received a call from Tamano-yu, and they kindly came to pick us up at the station. We were able to relax and enjoy the Onsen in our room, which was very rejuvenating. It was also nice that we could take a leisurely walk to Lake Kinrin on foot. For meals, we had local white rice, which was the most delicious rice we've ever tasted. If I have another chance to visit Yufuin, I would love to stay at this accommodation again.

    It's been a while.

    We visited after 16 years to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday. Just like our previous stay, we were very satisfied with the wonderful hot springs, spacious environment, and the excellent hospitality of the staff.     We were able to stay for one night at the highly sought-after Tama-no-Yu with my 88-year-old mother and brother. The meticulous cleaning, the waiting room with a fireplace filled with books and classical music, and the tea we enjoyed created a wonderful atmosphere. Both dinner and breakfast were carefully prepared dishes, and the staff's hospitality was exceptional, making it a truly memorable trip. Thank you very much.     It was our first visit to Yufuin, and we stayed as a family. Upon entering, we were welcomed by a serene space filled with greenery and a calm atmosphere. During dinner, while enjoying the delicious dishes, my son became too full to eat his favorite shabu-shabu, which made him upset and cry out of frustration and guilt.     The Ultimate Summer Getaway

    I regularly visit various accommodations in Kyushu because I love the onsens there. The atmosphere of Yufuin town felt slightly different this time. So, I checked in early. Surrounded by greenery and classical music, it was a peaceful escape from the outside hustle and bustle. In the cool evening, I enjoyed a bath while listening to the soothing sounds of nature. Delicate wildflowers were thoughtfully arranged throughout the room, making me feel warmly welcomed. This accommodation had everything important to me: - Greenery and tranquility - Bungo beef paired with Burgundy wine - Delicious coffee and tea - A bar offering exquisite wines - The wonderful private bath in my room - Of course, an amazing open-air onsen as well - A bed that ensures deep sleep - A delightful dinner with flavorful simmered dishes and small plates - Breakfast featuring watercress soup, fromage blanc, and unique local cheeses - Rice so delicious even growing children would love it - Spacious rooms - Warm hospitality I had been under constant stress caring for my cat's sudden illness until just before arriving here. But staying here allowed me to recharge slowly and regain my energy. Thank you very much!

    Truly a First-Class Accommodation

    Visited after 7 years. During this time, new and excellent accommodations have opened in Yufuin, increasing competition. However, the comfortable service, delicious meals made with quality ingredients, skin-friendly onsen, and the overall relaxing atmosphere remain unchanged. I still believe Tamano-yu is the best. The room has been renovated and is now even more comfortable. The only disappointment was that there was no bartender. I'm not sure if it was their day off or if they had left, but the bar hours had also changed.

    I was very satisfied.

    It was raining on the day of our stay. A gentleman kindly brought an umbrella to the parking lot, which was a thoughtful gesture that surprised us. The room was private with a hinoki bath, and my partner thoroughly enjoyed bathing surrounded by the scent of hinoki. Dinner was, of course, delicious, but we were also very satisfied with the attentive service provided by the young lady in charge. For dessert after dinner, they prepared a birthday cake for my partner, which deeply moved us. The next morning at 7 AM, we took a walk from the accommodation and were amazed by the enchanting morning mist over Lake Kinrin. Breakfast was also delicious. After checking out of the hotel and doing some shopping, we headed home. I regret not remembering her name, but to the young lady from Miyagi Prefecture—thank you for your wonderful hospitality!

    I had a relaxing time. How was the meal?

    Overall, the service was good, but there were several moments during meal service where I felt something was off. It seemed like the staff might have been inexperienced. The dinner also did not meet my expectations, which is disappointing for such a lovely accommodation. The sashimi at the accommodation I stayed at the previous day was far superior in quality. I can't help but wonder why there is such a difference despite being in the same region. I had high hopes for delicious fish from Bingo Nada, but it fell short of expectations. Even the wagyu beef was not up to standard.

    This time, it was an enjoyable trip, but the accommodation...

    The food might not have been worth the price. I was most looking forward to visiting the bar, but it was closed on its regular day off... That wasn’t something I could confirm beforehand. The plants didn’t seem well-maintained either, with wilted leaves and fallen flowers scattered around. At 50,000 yen per person, I don’t think there will be a second visit.

    The shamo hot pot is not quite up to par.

    I chose to try the shamo hot pot for dinner, but it was watery due to the moisture from the vegetables and did not live up to its reputation, so it was not tasty. The staff's attentiveness was kind and left a very good impression.

    Hospitality that resonates with the heart

    I think everything was wonderful. The service was polite yet unpretentious and natural. All the dishes were delicious, and we chose meat and soft-shelled turtle hot pot as the main dishes, which were also delicious. The soft-shelled turtle, in particular, had no odor and was extremely tasty. The room was comfortable, and although we stayed for 22 hours, the time passed quickly. It is a property I definitely want to visit again.

    It was my first visit to Yufuin, and I stayed at a very charming Ryokan. I was unsure about using a rental car due to concerns about road freezing, but the receptionist guided me to safe roads, allowing me to travel with peace of mind. The onsen, rich with the scent of hinoki, provided a warming effect on the body and left my skin feeling smooth. In addition to the wonderful seafood and mountain delicacies, I was humbled to receive a lovely gift for my daughter's birthday celebration. Our family, usually living separately, was able to relax leisurely around the kotatsu and create wonderful memories. Thank you very much. I hope to use your services again if the opportunity arises. I heard there was a strong earthquake last night, and I hope everyone has not suffered any major damage.

    Adult Holiday

    We used it for our wedding anniversary vacation. The service with just the right amount of distance was very good. We chose a bento box that could be eaten in the Room for dinner, but my husband, who loves eel, left some, so I deducted a few points. The bath was so pleasant that I wanted to take it many times. I would like to use it again.
