    A good Hotel in Kure.

    It is located far from Kure Station. If you choose the right room type and a higher floor, I’d rate it 4 stars. The staff were conducting a survey and seemed genuinely committed to improving the Hotel, so I think the service is good. The disappointing point is that on lower floors you can’t see the sea. The 5th floor in particular felt low because of the rooftop level, and being surrounded by walls meant there was no sea view. The room was clean and nicely designed, but the switches were scattered around; a centralized switch panel would have been even better. The breakfast buffet was delicious, mainly Western-style. The navy curry and French toast were especially good. I felt the drink selection was a bit limited. There isn’t much to do for a walk around the Hotel—just factories, pachinko parlors, and a drugstore. Still, if I stay in Kure again next time, I’d choose this Hotel.

    The Room is spacious and clean. However, there are a few minor shortcomings with the amenities and towels.

    We stayed as two guests in a Room priced around JPY 40,000 per night. The Room was new and clean, spacious enough even for four people, and very comfortable. Since we were on the 5th floor, the view was blocked by an outdoor unit area right in front of us, but all other Rooms were booked out and we had already known this from Reviews, so it wasn’t disappointing. A few points to note: the in-room refrigerator was a Peltier type and didn’t cool very well, and considering the price range, the amenities and supplies felt a bit underwhelming. For example, the towels were not fluffy and soft; they were firmer and more substantial. For dinner, the chef’s recommended “Kowamote Chef ‘My Kaiseki’” was tasty, but the portions felt a bit large for women. We think ordering à la carte might have been better. Also, “Yamato Curry,” which we had for lunch, appeared again at the next morning’s breakfast buffet—if we had known in advance, we would have chosen something else. While there are a few minor drawbacks regarding Facilities and dining options, if you prioritize cleanliness and comfort of the Room, this is a good Hotel where you can fully enjoy your stay.

    You liked the Room!

    This was the most comfortable Hotel I have ever stayed at. The bed that caught my eye as soon as I entered looked very comfortable, and it truly was. The TV was smaller than what we have at home, but it was perfectly positioned for viewing from the bed. We still talk about how nice the tatami Room was. The bath was also spacious and wonderful! They provided Shuttle Service right away to both the station and the pier, so it was great value for money. The staff were courteous and even recommended local places to eat, which we really appreciated. I would love to come again. Thank you very much.

    It was excellent.

    I chose this Hotel because I wanted to see Head Chef Takabayashi of Kureto in person. The Room was spacious, with the bath and toilet separated, and both the bathtub and washing area were large, making it very comfortable. For dinner, I dined at Kureto hoping to meet the chef. Every dish was delicious, and the chef came to our table to greet us; we had a wonderful conversation and spent a truly meaningful time. If I come to Kure again, I would love to stay here again.

    Hotel life with a view of Kure Port

    Whenever I visit Kure for a memorial service, I often stay here. There used to be an Italian restaurant, which I enjoyed, but it is no longer there; this time I had dinner at the Japanese restaurant. Regardless of the changes in the restaurants, this is a Hotel where you can spend a quiet and comfortable time. The Room is thoroughly cleaned and kept very tidy, and the surrounding area is also quiet. Early in the morning, while looking out over Kure Port, I was able to see a Self-Defense Force ship moving slowly along. In the past, I have even seen a submarine. I once stayed near the station as well, but once again I felt that this Hotel is more relaxing.

    We stayed here during a holiday trip. Although we arrived late for check-in, the front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. The Room was spacious and very clean, as if it had been renovated. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of vegetables. When we visit Hiroshima again, we would like to stay here again.

    Highly recommended.

    The Room was spacious and had a calm interior, so I could relax comfortably. It was equipped with a desk suitable for working remotely and a comfortable chair. The bathroom in the Room was also clean, which was great. The Hotel staff were professional as well. I couldn’t book a Hotel near Hiroshima Station, so I chose a Hotel in Kure, and I was very satisfied.

    I stayed at this Hot...

    I stayed at this Hotel to watch a play in Kure. The Room was a combination of a tatami Room and a bedroom, and it was clean and comfortable. The bed firmness was just right for my preference, not too soft. Since the bathroom and toilet were separate, I could enjoy a relaxing bath. I didn't hear any noise from the neighboring Rooms, so I had a peaceful stay. If I visit Kure again, I would definitely choose to stay here. Thank you very much!

    A Hotel where you can choose a Room to suit your needs.

    We booked the most affordable room as our stay at the hotel was short due to golfing nearby. However, the hotel kindly upgraded us to a Comfort Room. This room was very spacious and could easily accommodate four people. It had two sinks, allowing two people to use them simultaneously, which was convenient. Additionally, there was a separate shower booth and a bath area with a washing space, making the bathroom facilities excellent. Being on the 5th floor, there wasn’t much of a view from the window. We planned to have dinner at the hotel but couldn’t as their only Japanese restaurant was fully booked, leaving us without dinner options initially. Fortunately, we were able to use their free shuttle service to Kure Station. The shuttle doesn’t operate on a fixed schedule but can be arranged for your preferred time upon request. For return trips, you can call the hotel by 7 PM for pick-up. Two complimentary bottles of mineral water were provided in our room. Coffee was available in powder form; it would have been nice if drip coffee options were offered instead. There wasn’t a coffee maker in the room. The amenities included aftershave lotion for men and skincare sets for women handed out during check-in. Since there’s nothing around the hotel area, we recommend making reservations in advance if you plan to dine at their restaurant. With various types of rooms available, choosing one based on your needs will enhance your stay experience!

    Kure, returning after 3 years

    First visit to Kure in 3 years, and nothing has changed—it was a delightful trip. The food was delicious, and Clayton Bay Hotel was excellent. I will visit again.

    Rooms designed for both work and relaxation

    I stayed for one night during a short trip from Okayama. The Hotel is conveniently located with an airport shuttle bus stop. The Room features a spacious desk, a comfortable armchair, and even a sofa where you can adjust your posture when tired, making it very satisfying. Highly recommended for those who want to focus on work. When you're tired of working, you can relax in the bathtub, which is relatively large for the size of the Room.

    This was my third stay, I believe. This time, I stayed in a sea-facing room for the first time, and the view from the window was truly different. The window itself is quite large, and the scenery of Kure Bay spreading out before me was stunning. By chance, I even saw submarines passing by, which was a pleasant surprise. The room itself was spacious and comfortable; however, one issue I noticed was that although it was a twin room for single use, there were only towels and amenities provided for one person. This left me wondering if it might have been an oversight. I've stayed in double or twin rooms at other accommodations before but never encountered this situation—it felt a bit disappointing. As for breakfast, both the venue and menu had changed to a buffet style compared to previous visits. Personally, I found this better as there were more options available. I would like to stay here again if given another opportunity!

    We stayed here to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were guided to the "Yamato Room" as it was available, and my battleship-loving husband was absolutely thrilled! The breakfast buffet was incredibly delicious, and it turned out to be a wonderful trip. Thank you so much!

    Stayed in a lovely Room at a reasonable price.

    I was able to make a reservation at a reasonable price using IKYU.com points, and the room exceeded my expectations in a good way. Even as a single room, it had a double-sized bed and was very spacious and lovely. I enjoyed the Japanese cuisine inside the accommodation, including the local specialty "Supply Ship Towada Curry," which was also delicious. The parking lot was spacious, making it an ideal accommodation for road trips. Next time, I would like to stay here with my family for a vacation.

    Hotel near Kure Station and Yamato Museum

    Positive points: Multiple mirrors were installed, and the lighting could be adjusted in detail. The flat parking lot was available for free. Negative points: While there were plenty of outlets, which was convenient, fast charging for smartphones was not possible. There was a writing desk but no side table or tea table.

    I have stayed here many times. Although it is far from the station, the parking lot is spacious, the rooms are large, and you can relax while enjoying a view of the harbor. However, this time I noticed that the bathroom drainage was not smooth and was concerned about the level of cleanliness.     Stayed again this year following last year!

    I stayed at this accommodation again this year, continuing from the previous year. If I visit Kure next year or the year after, I would love to stay at Clayton Bay Hotel again. Since my friend lives in Kure, I switched from hotels in Hiroshima City a few years ago and started using hotels in Kure from last year. This hotel is a bit far from Kure Station, so it might be inconvenient location-wise, but it's quiet and allows for a relaxing stay. I was able to sleep soundly at night. Rooms on the sea side offer views of the ocean, sunrise, and ships through large windows—it's enjoyable scenery! I forgot my phone charger at home and was wondering what to do when I asked the front desk as a last resort; they kindly lent me one—it was very helpful! Thank you so much for that! Additionally, female guests receive DHC mini amenities as gifts, so you don't need to bring your skincare products from home—very convenient! The toilet, bathroom, and sink seem to have been renovated—they were clean and easy to use!! The souvenir corner featuring items from Kure in the front lobby is great! Next time I'll take home one of those teddy bears dressed in Maritime Self-Defense Force uniforms (both summer and winter versions). As for feedback or personal opinions: Breakfast has changed compared to last year—it seems like it's now buffet-style due to changing times. My husband and I were looking forward to breakfast on the 11th-floor restaurant last year with its special dishes like Battleship Yamato curry rice or 18 carefully selected small items along with porridge; we found it disappointing that these are no longer available. My husband especially missed them quite a lot. Also regarding additional charges—the large public bath costs about 2,000 yen extra; it would be nice if staying guests could use it for around 1,000 yen instead. After traveling all day long feeling tiredness creeping up—a big bath helps rejuvenate oneself better! Lastly just another minor point: near entrance area close by TV stand luggage rack/chair placement seemed narrow causing bumping into furniture while walking towards bed footpath corridor space felt tight perhaps rearranging such pieces closer window-side might improve usability plus scenic enjoyment sitting down comfortably gazing outside viewable table nearby suggests chair usage likely varies depending room layout differences though overall impression remains positive nonetheless. Staff members were kind smiling warmly throughout interactions including parking guidance personnel promptly assisting smooth vehicle maneuvering process efficiently handled altogether pleasant experience overall appreciated greatly indeed! One cautionary note however late-night hours finding taxis directly accessible between station roads leading towards Clayton Bay Hotel proves challenging advisable arranging beforehand via shops     A breakfast venue with unique chairs

    It was a long-awaited trip to Kure City. Last time, I stayed at a hotel in front of JR Kure Station, but this time I booked this hotel introduced on IKYU. The location is slightly away from Kure Station, but it was within walking distance and not an issue. The room was more spacious than expected, with a large desk and a big bathtub that made the stay comfortable. I hadn't initially ordered breakfast, but after seeing the pamphlet, I decided to add it to my booking. The breakfast venue is the restaurant on the 1st floor and features a buffet style with uniquely designed chairs. I went early in the morning on a weekday, and besides me, there was only one family group present, so I could enjoy my meal at leisure. Thank you for your hospitality!
