    Heading to Itoshima 2026 Through a Torrential Downpour

    This was my third visit to Itoshima, the first in two years. Last time, after heavy rain the day before, it suddenly turned into a midsummer day, and the breathtaking sunset—changing moment by moment against the vast ocean—was truly moving. I enjoyed delicious food and the relaxed pace that only an all-inclusive stay can offer. This time had a different atmosphere and some changes. Arriving in a downpour with luggage, I climbed the stone steps to check in. What surprised me right away was “10:00 checkout”! I never expected it to be an hour earlier—maybe a pitfall of being a repeat guest? I was told it was changed because lunch service starts at 11:00 with reservations… but 10:00 still feels far too early. Since we spend about four hours round trip for an overnight stay, we want to relax as much as possible. If possible, I hope you will consider setting check-in to 16:00 and returning checkout to 11:00—I would be glad if this request from repeat guests reaches you. This time we dined while watching the post-rain evening scenery, and the food was just as delicious as ever—I was very satisfied. The soup course in particular had wonderful Japanese dashi flavor and was deeply comforting, and the tempura made from fresh squid (prepared after sashimi) was especially appreciated; as someone who loves cooking at home, having a professional fry dishes is a real treat. It was also disappointing not to see any of the staff members from previous visits. The photo shows “Itoshima Bay—an evening view after the rain.”

    The food was absolutely delicious!

    We chose Kyushu for my husband’s 60th birthday trip.\nWe picked this Accommodation because Reviews said the food was excellent, and both breakfast and dinner were truly delicious! For dinner, you can choose several à la carte dishes in addition to the standard menu, and breakfast also had a wide variety of items—we were completely full. Since we mentioned in advance that it was a 60th birthday celebration, they surprised us with a dessert plate with flowers and sparklers!! We were so happy. Beyond the food, it was all-inclusive with unlimited drinks, we could see the ocean from our Room, and at night it was wonderful to fall asleep listening to the sound of the waves. As there were only two guest parties staying, we were able to enjoy the bath at a relaxed pace.\nI’d love to visit again...

    It was excellent.

    Another group canceled, so we were able to use the accommodation. The meals we were looking forward to exceeded our expectations and were so delicious that we ended up overeating. We appreciated the thoughtful suggestions, such as allowing us to take leftovers back to the room as snacks or preparing rice balls for a late-night snack. The free drinks were also very tasty. From both the room and the drink corner, we could see the ocean. Falling asleep while listening to the sound of waves was a wonderful experience. The sunset over the sea and the morning view of it were both breathtaking. The bath was also fantastic—private use with fresh towels provided, allowing us to relax at our own pace. The decorations in the room were adorable, and thanks to warm hospitality, we had a very relaxing stay. If I had one small suggestion, it would be that having sandals on the balcony of our room would have made it easier to step out there; however, since they were available at the drink corner area instead, this wasn’t much of an issue for us. We fell in love with this accommodation after just one visit! Highly recommended from my heart—we definitely hope to return again soon!

    After all, the meals were excellent.

    This is our second time using this place for a family trip. As it is an auberge, the meals were excellent. With the all-inclusive option, my husband and son, who love alcohol, were thrilled to enjoy sake that they don't often get to drink. We had the place to ourselves and were able to spend quality time with the family. The bath usage time was short and felt rushed. It would be nice if we could use it a bit longer. We will visit again.

    It was good.

    We stayed at the property during our second family trip to Kyushu. The main gate was not very noticeable, and the gravel path was winding, making it difficult to move our luggage. The room was spacious, allowing us to relax. The meals were extremely delicious, especially the a la carte Itoshima chicken confit and autumn mackerel pressed sushi included in the stay, which were exquisite. The female staff were kind, giving toys to our 2-year-old son after meals and making a reservation at an oyster hut for the next day's lunch. Thank you very much. If I had to say, there were drink stains on the chabudai, and there was dust inside the dresser. That was a bit concerning.

    The staff at the Ryokan were very accommodating! They were flexible with meal changes, and I would like to use their services again.
